The food portions are huge! The waiters have great recommendations. The only problem is that in Su day there is a 30-50 minute wait. Everything on the menu is wonderful.
Came here for a trip to Puerto Rico and saw it was a popular place. When we got there they said we had to wait 30 minutes so we went next door to 787 coffee and got some drinks. 10 minutes later they called saying a table was ready. When we got there they said we couldn't be seated since we had 787 coffee. We offered to put it in a bag hidden away but it was still unacceptable. We got takeout instead and went back to our hotel to eat. When I opened the egg dish my friend ordered I wanted to laugh. For $17 the top dish looks like something I would make at home when I had nothing to eat. Portion was small and unflavorful. The churro pancake was as expected but nothing special.
Wait was almost 40 minutes, but it was good once we were seated. Food and service were good.
The Bistro Café was fantastic - easily our best meal in San Juan. We tried the pulled pork croissant and the fruitero croissant. Both were delicious. The coffees were excellent as well. The staff made the experience even better. Friendly and welcoming.=We would recommend The Bistro to everyone. The only minor downside, as with much of San Juan, is that parking can be difficult to find (and we got there right when it opened.
Great place for brunch/lunch. Extensive menu. There's something on there for everyone. Visited on our last day and we all wished we had gone sooner as we would have definitely liked to go back again. I can see why it gets very busy. Portions are very large. Some dishes may be best for sharing. Had the stuffed avocado with shrimp and it was delicious. The avocado was large and very fresh. 3 of us had this and we all really liked it.
If you want a good breakfast with large portions this is the place to be. It was busy but we were sat immediately and our waitress was patient. The strawberry kiwi popsicle mimosa was so exciting to drink. Im stealing that idea for a girls night! We were craving pancakes so we ordered an American breakfast as well as skirt steak Rancheros & Papas Griegas. Everything was good. If youre in PR make sure to go as the menu is extensive.
Really good food! I've tried the location in Miami. Service was a little spotty. It's a much larger location than what it looks like. The shrimp mofongo was good.
Bistro Cafe was phenomenal. Be prepared, the menu is quite literally ginormous. It may feel overwhelming at first, but it's an exciting overwhelming knowing that anything you get is going to be delicious and filling as all portion sizes are huge! It was super affordable, which is always a nice touch. Our server was beyond wonderful, kind, and very accommodating given that we had non-meat eaters and gluten free members with us. I loved the feel of a Puerto Rican diner. It was such a special experience. Be sure to get there as early as possible as it is walk in only and extremely popular. We waited an hour and a half. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan!
We ended up coming here all three mornings we were in the area. Omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, mimosas, stuffed avocado - everything was delicious and all portions were generous. Our wait staff were always welcoming, friendly and helpful.
told by locals, one of the best brunch in puerto rico and i'm so glad i believed them!! everything was a 10/10. the portions were huge and the prices were amazing!! i hope this location never changes. the ambiance is amazing also. the workers are so sweet i would definitely come back!!
This place is a must see in PR! The menu is extensive and the food is great. I had the pancakes with dulce de leche and fruits & my husband had a plate with eggs, bacon and pancakes. We got orange juice and tamarindo juice which tasted fresh. The service was quick and our server was really attentive. We went with our 3 month old and were sat in a booth away from the music which worked for us. This place gave really great brunch vibes. Come with an empty stomach.
We visited twice during our week's stay in Puerto Rico. Each time, our wait for a table (for a party of 2) was less than 10 minutes. The food was absolutely amazing each time, and so were the beverages. Service was good. We really enjoyed our server during our second visit. She was more attentive to our needs and personable. Whereas the server during the first visit seemed really rushed and short in communication. Our food was brought in a reasonable time considering how busy it appeared each visit. Food portions were large, and we found ourselves having leftovers each time. The ambiance was pretty noisy, but definitely giving brunch vibes. Parking was challenging to find each visit, but if you ride around in a circle long enough, eventually, a parking spot will become available.
Place is very good and the hype is definitely worth it. If you go early you don't have to wait too long. There's no reservations; first come first serve basis at this location. It's a tad pricey, but I guess you pay for what you get. The portion of the meal is extremely huge and definitely worth sharing for sure. Tried our best to finish everything we shared and didn't have left overs. This place isn't huge inside but it's def IG worthy. Would come back again.
I had a great experience at Bistro Café in Puerto Rico! I went on a Tuesday morning around 10:30am and they sat us down immediately. This is not the norm on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, where the wait is very long given the popularity of the restaurant. The space was nicely lit, and it was very clean. The Nutella waffles were delicious! Honestly, the waffle on its own w/o any syrup or sauce was fantastic, you can tell the batter they use is fresh and good quality. 5 stars! The Ham, egg, and cheese croissant was a salty/sweet dish (which I enjoy dishes that mix the two options), it was delicious. They add the powder sugar on-top (maybe next time not so much), and they also drizzle some honey which I loved (I enjoy the flavor of honey). I could only finish half of the sandwich because it was very filling. 5 stars! The bowl of fruits were a nice refreshing touch given the heaviness of the main dishes, so I appreciated it! They were also very fresh and good quality. My husband enjoyed the Mocha Frap (he went with Almond milk because it is a very heavy coffee drink and he was glad that he did). I tried a sip of it and it was fine, I am not an overly sweet coffee drinker, but I can see how someone who is and likes chocolate would enjoy it. I ordered their cappuccino with Almond milk (hot), and it was awesome! Really good coffee. No photo (my apologies). Overall Bistro Cafe was a very nice experience and I will be coming back for other breakfast dish options when I am back in PR! Everyone should give this place a try! read more

Came here for brunch with my sister! We made reservations and it was only 2 of us and lucked out to be seated immediately. There was a long long outside though and I hear it can be quite the wait! I ordered a breakfast burrito with steak and a pistachio coffee and my sister ordered an omelette! My coffee wasn't so strong but the presentation was nice with whipped crème and all! My burrito was blah. The chunks of steak were too big however the burrito was HUGE! My sister enjoyed her omelette! It was smothered in cheese so you can't go wrong there. I think I may have ordered the wrong item because I saw others plates and there food looked very tasty. Portions are HUGE here. You can honestly split them if you wanted. I feel bad for leaving 3 stars but I wasn't a fan of the food too much. The staff was amazing though and I have nothing bad to say about the service! I'd visit again and try a new item! read more

Wow. This brunch was created for Instagram. Not only is everything beautiful, but also tastes fantastic! We came by 10am on a Saturday morning, and were lucky to get a table for 2. By the time we left, there was a 45 min wait, so come early, or be prepared to wait! The coffee steals the show here, there are so many amazing coffee options that are rim-coated with goodies. I got the hot peanut butter cup mocha, that had peanut butter spread around the rim with peanut butter cups stuck to it. I swear this is the best coffee I've ever tasted my entire life. I was literally licking the cup all over! My friend got the caramel cappuccino, which had a caramel coating around the rim with some sort of graham cracker crust. Again, delicious. For alcoholic beverages, we ordered the mimosas with the popsicles upside down in the cup. This was so cool! One strawberry-kiwi mimosa, with strawberries frozen inside the pop, and one mango-berry mimosa. Both were fantastic, again. And very insta-worthy. For food, I got the omelet with pulled pork, avocado, pico, and mango salsa. It was massive and delicious. I couldn't finish it was so big, needed a to-go box! My friend got the nutella waffes, which was loaded with fruit, berries, nutella, and whip cream, and the most beautiful presentation. She couldn't finish hers either, too full! Overall 5 stars for the friendly service, amazing food, picture-worthy presentations, and creative drinks. 100% recommended, as long as you're not in a hurry. The drinks and food took some time, but understandable since they were so busy and these are designer dishes. read more
Brunch places have to be my favorite type of option when it comes to food. So when it comes to reviews, I have a lot of experience between different spots. I took a vacation for a week to Puerto Rico & heard a spot named Bistro Cafe was THE BRUNCH SPOT to go too. So I went. I came on a Wednesday around 11:00 am & It was fairly packed, there was a line to get in which surprised me but gave me high hopes. I don't know about reservations etc, i figured on a Wednesday i'd be able to walk in, a table for 2 was a 40 minute wait. I had a flight to catch so therefore we sat at the bar. The bar was not so busy, there is open seating and we were given menus as soon as we sat down, now reading the menu there are options on top of options. From regular scrambled eggs w bacon & egg, to burritos, oreo pancakes, Huevos rancheros. THERE ARE OPTIONS. Ofcourse we had to start with the Drink which we got the Iced Mocha w Mini Waffle which WOW, WHAT A START. As an appetizer we got the Croissant de Carnitas which had powdered sugar & honey spread on top of it with a sweet but salty meats & sauce inside the... Literally ate it within 1 minute, did not say a word just focused on flavor and deleting it from my sight. DELICIOUS. Our Entrees were absolutely phenomenal presentation was on point, flavor was diverse and fresh. I'd have to admit this place is definitely a go too if you're looking for a nice spot to have brunch, of course expect higher prices, but at-least with this spot the higher price tag also comes with a higher service & quality of food. This place to me is a 10/10 I would 100% come again!! read more

The wait in the hot sun was not ideal. Thank goodness our wait was only 45min. I heard other people waited hours. The food was delicious. We would definitely come back again just make sure you have a light breakfast and a fan to keep you cool while waiting. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was busy. read more

Picture-worthy and high-quality food. While traveling through Old San Juan we met a police man who recommended we try Bistro Cafe. We decided to stop by before a busy day of kayaking. We were looking for a place with good-sized portions to keep us full for the day. We found that at Bistro Cafe! Each plate comes stacked with good food. I ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon and a side of toast for my meal. There are plenty of sweet and savory breakfast/brunch options to choose from. The menu is over 10 pages long! Everyone in my party was more than satisfied with their meal. Definitely a must-try if you're in San Juan. read more

Everything on the menu looked AMAZING! The food was so good and the portion sizes were big. Enough to share with another person or have left overs for another meal. I also ordered the caramel latte with Brillo and loved the presentation of it. Follow them on IG to see even more pictures of items on there menu. read more

Bistro Cafe looks small outside but it's big inside the atmosphere is good service was great our waitress Kimberly was knowledgeable and nice the food was so good coffee is was great and tasty definitely a must if you're in the area parking is a little hard to find you will have to look for parking in the streets read more
The first place we went to when we landed in the Caribbean. Looked modern but it was too cold inside. Had to request for a temp reduction. The vibe was amazing. Kids to elders, having fun and celebrating birthday with a surprise singing and cakes(?) by the staff. We loved the Churro Pancakes and the El Jibbarito. Glad they had a lot of vegetarian option. Need to mention about the quantity, it was A LOT!! Like too much for a single person and we had trash some and take some with us. They definitely are working on the island timing since our orders took forever and thus the 4-star rating. read more

The omelete is 10/10, it's humongous and recommend sharing. The burrata avocado toast was honestly a little disappointing. It looks amazing in photos but it's a cold breakfast and has very little salt. I think I saw all the other photos on here and thought it looked amazing and ordered... I should've gone for the omelete, honestly. The staff is super friendly! This place is super popular so expect a wait. read more

Always enjoy when I visit. Most recently, I had the season's coquito pancakes and lavender mojito which were excellent. My partner had stuffed avocado and flavored margaritas. One was more for show than taste (dragon fruit) but they were ok. The service was good. Tip: if you can wait until about 2pm you will miss the rush. Or go when they first open. Or else you will be waiting 90 minutes. read more
Not sure what the hype is for this restaurant. Maybe I need to give it another try. It is a happening place so prepare for a long wait time. Fruit was not fresh at all for how much they charge. I got meat omelet and was disappointed because I felt they just dump the ingredient in the omelet, no presentation or taste. Side potatoes was dry. Bathroom dirty. Found this spot how? Via Yelp, of course! First day in Puerto Rico and this this place was on my list just miles from our rental car pickup. Former Yelp reviews mentioned wait times and here being very busy. Maybe it was the 2:30 time on a Thursday, we were quickly seated to a not busy scene. Our luck! Around the corner from a beach strip. I'd say Puerto Rico? They need street cleaning. Alot of trash walking up, but that has nothing to do with this restaurant, just a general obersevation. Inside? Really cute! Fun rooms with modern seating. Alot of staff, maybe too many as they looked a little bored. Our server? She was great. I asked her for drink recommendations, and she described a few. I went with the Morrilla. A mimosa mixed with tequila and pomegranate juice. It was delicious, but it was 16 dollars. For lunch? We both chose Gyros. Me? Lamb. Him steak. Mine was perfect! The lamb a little crispy on the ends and a little side of greens. The pita was fresh and perfectly spongy, the feta taziki topping? Yum. I tried some of his steak Gyro, good, but preferred mine (the texture mainly). I'd definitely recommend this spot! Price? It wasn't a cheap lunch- a treat, but totally worth it! It's quite possible we might visit here again before our trips end! 4 stars vs. Five? Drink prices a bit high. Regardless, recommend . read more

Bistro Cafe was the first stop after getting off the plane in Puerto Rico. I saw their yummy looking drinks on Instagram and had to stop by. I ended up going with a mojito for my drink and the carnitas and steak quesadilla for my entree. I was disappointed my mojito didn't come "jazzed" up like in the photos, but the taste made up for that! I was not expecting the presentation or the deliciousness of the quesadilla. It was huge! The combination of sweet plantains, shredded pork, steak, avocado and guava sauce, gave it a nice sweet and savory flavor. The meat was tender and the plantains had the perfect amount of sweetness. Nothing I've ever had before. I was not able to finish it and it ended up taking the other half for dinner. If you are visiting, this is definitely a spot to check out. read more
I'm glad we found this cute restaurant before flying home. Be prepared to wait a little for your food because they tend to get busy and the portion is huge so I figure it takes awhile to make lol. I got the steak burrito and it was HUGE. This place is known for their portion size. My burrito was probably about $22? It legit fed like 2-3 people. We also ordered the salmon sandwich . They were not shy with the salmon. It was a lot... TIP - beware when they ask if you want home fries or salad on the side that it is NOT free... we thought it was part of the meal but it wasn't. They should really let their customers know. My home fries were $6 extra. If I had known, I wouldn't have gotten it because alone the burrito was too much already. Overall, this place is a must tourist place to visit. read more

Absolute vibes! It's the cutest cafe in a bustling part of Puerto Rico. We went during Covid and they're super aware of keeping everyone safe which was reassuring. The cafe is super cute and has many areas inside to strike a IG influencer-esque pose. It was busy but that didn't delay our food. We were in a group of 6 and everything arrived hot and fresh. The portions are huge and soooo delicious. I had the breakfast sandwich that I deconstructed and it had cheese eggs, sausage, and home fries on a toasted brioche bun-absolutely amazing! It will be my must go restaurant any time I'm back in the area. I could've definitely ate here more than once. read more

Great atmosphere. I sat at the bar so luckily I was seated right away, but there was a wait for tables. Service at the bar was very attentive. They even took off part of my bill because an error caused my food to take longer to prepare than expected. Everything tasted fantastic and I wish I had a bigger appetite to try more. Bacon- It is real deal bacon. It was thick, not salty, and hearty. French toast with strawberries & coconut- A perfect combination and the best way to eat french toast for now on is with coconut and strawberry. Syrup is not necessary, it is moist enough with the strawberry juice and whip cream. Mocha frio- It tastes as great as it looks with the cool chocolate rim. They don't over saturate the drink with too much ice yet it was still ice cold and refreshing. read more

This place is very popular due to its many instagramable options and interior decor so be prepared to wait (we got there around 11:30am). Even though this is a popular spot the food is really good, and the coffee and cocktail drinks are creative with good flavors at their core. I ordered the romano omelet with a side waffle draped with fruit and nutella. My friend had an Oreo latte with oat milk, and that was pretty good and surprisingly not as sweet but I didn't try the cookie rim. Also, Portions a huge so make sure you bring your appetite. We ate at the bar because it was very busy, and the wait for a table was pretty long, so bring your patience with you. Service staff was friendly and made some helpful recommendations. I enjoyed my experience overall but if you're in a hurry consider coming during none peak hours. read more

The customer service was 100% amazing. Everyone was so kind there! If you don't speak spanish most of them are english speakers as well. The setting of the place was so relaxing and the decoration was beautiful. THE FOOD. The food was sooooooo good. There are many things to order on that menu so you have a huge variety of things. I really do recommend this place as a must try in puerto rico! Amazing!! read more

Off the charts . Food was outrageous wait was LONG but once we were sat I could honestly see why . It was packed must've been 150 people in all eating . Great job to all the staff who grind to get the job done. Trendy touristy Instagram worthy . I'll return again next time I'm here read more
Wasn't sure if they were open, since their phone line here indicates the line is not available. What's up with that. No Amex here at all. Our name was in by 12:07pm. They told us that there's a 35-45 minute wait for a table. They will call us when a table is ready. It's a decent sized place inside, cute themed wallpapers in the different rooms. Eclectic. They have an extensive menu and a variety of items for all too. Was about a 47 minute wait for a table today. We need ID and vax cards for entry here. Isamar is waiting on us today. Ordered 4 cheese chicken omelet with a side of pancakes with Nutella, Marne omelet, Mimorrita drink, quesadilla gitana and a bistro sandwich on a the croissant with a cooked egg and avocado and a Greek salad with the feta on the side. Our order was in by 1:15pm. It's all about giant portions here. Don't mind the generous portions, however the food overall is just okay. My bistro is okay, not special. Not bad with the sweet potato. The Ciabatta is not my favorite. Had to gut the sandwich. It's a bit bland otherwise. Some pesto sauce or some sauce with flavor would be nice with it and different breading too. The side of pancakes are super dense, unbelievable heavy, dry, thick as grocery and not carb worthy at all. The best part is the Nutella, berries and kiwi on top. Was not worth $5 for this thick cardboard. The 4 cheese chicken omelet is different. The egg exterior is like a crust, odd, not for men it's chicken and cheese packed for sure. The 2 omelets and quesadillas were all barely room temperature. The chicken quesadilla was okay. The sides of salad was garbage and had rotten and wilted leaves on to. My side salad with my bistro was also nasty too. Lots more rotten lettuce in the large Greek salad. Poor quality of food for us today. It's bad when I have to spend half of my meal picking out rotten lettuce out of my food. Disappointing to say the least. 3 half olives in the whole salad, shouldn't it have kalamata olives for it to be a Greek salad? I also never received no side of goat cheese or feta cheese at all. I got a sorry, but honestly that's probably enough to be removed off our bill. Not expecting any diligence here at all. The plastic forks for lunch and breakfast are not fun for eating at all. 15% tip minimum on the bill already. I see. They really should adjust the Greek salad from $13 for the feta and goat cheese that I never received at all. I asked if they could adjust the bill at all. Let's see their response then. The manager said the feta and goat cheese is just a topping and wouldn't be much off of the bill. They are giving is a mocha with oat milk to go. My husband said the mocha to go was not good at all. No wifi for guests, only for the staff. Their floors are super slippery everywhere and their bathrooms are dirty cesspools and smell awful too. Big portions and food looks fun, but the food is subpar at best. It's not good quality and is bland and boring for the price. read more
If you're looking for a good brunch place with an extensive menu, good food and drinks, plate presentation on point -- this is the place for you. There is a wait so I 10000000% suggest you wake up early and go. If it's after 10 am, the wait is usually 30 mins+ but I would say it's worth it. You will need an appetite as the portions are so generous. They have an Instagram page with pictures of food to make it easier for you to see the food, just a tip. The only downfall was that I wanted to try their trifongo or any of thei mofongo but I was told either they don't make it at this location or it would take such a long time. Sigh what a bummer. But all of our food was sooo delicious honestly you cannot go wrong with anything at this place. read more
OMG! This is truly one of the absolute best places to eat in all of San Juan. The menu is insane how big it is. I ordered a Zeus sandwich, which is a steak, chicken, and lamb in a ciabatta with all sorts of goodies in it. It was truly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. There was a 20 minute wait at 1:00 on a Wednesday so we decided to sit at the bar and eat. Amazing food...amazing service....cool place....and a HUGE menu...what else can you ask for? read more

We were visiting PR ( I'm from there) this place was highly recommended by locals. We came the second time as the first time experience was great. However Extra wait after having a table, my partner waited almost 10 minutes after I was seated. Yes they have to check to Covid vaccine card, however I explained to the manager Jenny and she was not a very nice person. She keep saying but they are others on the line. The place is busy and as having experience in the restaurant business you want a fast turnover. Right? Not her she didn't care. So sad! Then I have to wait for adjust my bill As it wasn't correct, again took a while. The table was unstable seriously, and no one try to fix it! Took forever to get my 2nd latte and our bill The coffee was great and other items I light cold back, however please make sure your service improve. Our waiter was amazing bit times! read more
