What a joke ! Who is running this place? After they screwed my delivery order up, which I ordered through their website. Supposedly my order was cancelled 45 min after I ordered it due to there being no more tritip! I called and spoke with a manager. I told him, you already charged my credit card and charged me for delivery , but I was hungry so I said I'd come pick the order up. Now they have tri tip available again an hour later. That's funny! He told me my order got cancelled because there was no tri tip. Anyhow, I drive down there to get my order, the guy in front seemed brain dead . I told him my name and I was picking up a takeout order. I sat there waiting 15 min and he says , duhhh what's the name for the order again? I give him my name again and he grabs the bag that was sitting there the whole time I'd been waiting. I get home and look in the bag and there is no salad , the baked potato has nothing on it , not how I ordered it and the tri tip was like chewing on a piece of leather. Top it all off and my pazooli cookie is missing the ice cream. Do these people even care to try and get someone's order right? I work hard for my money and to have it wasted on an order that was all wrong and thrown together half ass really pisses me off. So after reading the reply from the business owner below , to contact them at their email which I did , and never heard back from them. I didn't think I would !

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, so we decided to celebrate at BJ's. With no prior reservation, we arrived at 8 p.m. as a party of 8. The in-laws were in attendance. The wait was reasonable given our party size, and believe it or not, there were quite a few people dining. I wish they had a separate area for larger parties that didn't involve seating us in the middle of the walkway, but what other choice did they have? Our waiter started off strong. He greeted us, gathered our drink and appetizer orders right away. We were saddened to hear they discontinued their root beer wings (a family favorite), so we opted for their peppered BBQ wings as well as the lemon pepper wings. Both were bone-in. Although they weren't as good as the root beer wings, we all agreed the peppered BBQ wings were the better of the chosen appetizers. I ordered my usual jambalaya ( it's a safe choice) along with a side of the honey sriracha Brussels sprouts. My F-I-L ordered the pork chop with mash and asparagus. My S.O. ordered prime rib (medium-rare) mash and asparagus as well. Of course, there were others at the table, but those are the three entrees I'm going to focus on. The food arrived before our table was cleared. The table was never cleared until the end. A pet peeve that will ruin a pleasurable dining experience is being rushed to order, entrees arriving without the appetizer plates being cleared, and being thirsty without water or the waiter in sight. We were victims of all three. As you can imagine, we are already a large party, so space as well as movement were limited when placing the food on the table and indulging. The jambalaya is my safe choice for a reason. Despite how bland I found it to be, it was still edible. The honey sriracha sprouts were a great mix of sweet and spicy with a little crunch to it. It was my favorite part of my meal. The pork chop looked amazing and was well plated and sized nicely, my F-I-L did however complain that it was also bland, we joked that the asparagus were so thin we called them shoelace asparagus, too emaciated to enjoy. As for the prime rib, it was prepared medium rare as requested and devoured though again it was found to be rather bland in flavor. As we went around the table eating our meals, my daughter's baked potato received the highest rating of an 8.4/10. The Pork chop was rated a 7/10, the Prime Rib was an 8/10 and my jambalaya was a solid 7/10. The waiter refilled water for two out of the 8 of us without having to be asked immediately after the food was delivered, in spite of the other cups being visibly half empty. We waited quite a bit for the waiter to return to offer to go containers and take our dessert orders, at this time our table still hadn't been cleared. At this point we have appetizer plates, dinner plates, to-go containers all on the table as the dessert arrived. It wasn't until the birthday pizookie was placed on the table, that the table was cleaned. Around this time we also noted that the door directly adjacent to the table was being opened and closed often resulting in an uncomfortably cold breeze disrupting our enjoyment. With a table full of all the things, and a breeze that gave winter and food that didn't quite meet our standard, we were ready to leave and so we did. The food and service quality has left much to be desired so it will likely be a while before we visit again.

We're finally done with our SF assignment, and I'm so glad to be outta there, with all that traffic and crowds and high prices. Back in the East Bay now and it time to get some lunch. BJ's Brewhouse still has the $13 Pizookie specials. I've had these before at other locations and really thought they were a great deal and very tasty! This location is right off Contra Costa Blvd. in the Sun Valley Mall. Just turn in and park in front. It's so nice to have a big parking lot compared to that disaster in SF! We get seated and drink orders taken. I got the $13 Pizookie special with the Classic topping personal deep dish pizza. You have a bunch of other choices, even a burger, but I think the deep dish is the best deal, cause it comes with a salad as well. All of the Pizookie specials come with a mini Pizookie dessert of different flavors. That mini size is plenty of dessert, yep it's super sweet if you're one of those people that needs to watch their sugar intake. Three outta the four on my crew get the deep dish pizza option. It was a little while for them to come out. We got the salads first and I gotta say the side salads are decent sized here for sure. The pizzas seem small in diameter, but they're real thick and not just all thick with bread but all the toppings! We all finished with that Pizookie dessert and I had the strawberry and cream version, I was actually pretty damn tasty. I'd come back to BJ's of any location as long as they keep this Pizookie deal going!

Came here for happy hour a couple of weeks ago. The bartender was super friendly and constantly checked in on us. Margaritas were great. We also got some wings and a personal pizza. I loved the all meat personal pizza. Loved all the toppings! Good deal on happy hour!!

I had low expectations walking in as I saw two of the staff sitting on a bench at the front door smoking vapes. A complete turn off and such a sanitary situation. They walked in with us, looking back as I mentioned the fact they shouldn't be smoking at the door. Aaron was our server. He was very attentive and friendly. Took our order and it was accurate. The food was good and fresh. Pizza was cheesy and crust was buttery. Pepperoni galore. Salad was delicious and full flavor. The pizookie- triple chocolate chunk- so good. Overall, a good experience. We will be back

Always wanted to try out their $13 pizzokie meal deal, so I finally had time to give it a shot. I ordered via online, so it would be a lot easier for me to pick it up once I arrive at the Mall. Smash Burger: It was a pretty decent burger for the price. There were two patties smashed together, along with the normal fixings of cheese, produce and pickles. It was not too greasy nor too oily. The sauce was not overwhelming either, so the bun was able to keep its form. The fries were a bit of a letdown. It was crispy but I fed the amount I got was a lot less than what I would get if I dined in. Salted Caramel Pizzokie: I chose this as my little dessert. Everything comes separate, so you can assemble it at home. It was a lot of ice cream for the little cookie, but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely taste the salt and the caramel counter balances it for the sweetness. The chips were also a good texture. Overall, I can see myself ordering here again, especially for the pizzokie deal.

Overall pleasant experience during a short visit solely for a dessert and a to-go food. BJ's restaurant and brewhouse is located at SunValley Shopping Center, just outside by the parking lot and no need to go inside the mall itself. This place reminds me of Applebees or Outback steakhouse and similar places vibe. The front person is somehow not attentive, no greetings nor us asked why we are there, we had to ask him and say for two to be assisted and seated. I finally had the opportunity to taste the mouth watering pizookie, we had the salted caramel pizookie and chocolate chunk pizookie, and delectable chicken parmigiana dinner. The server Jade is amazing and helped us all throughout the short visit. Out food arrived in a timely manner, a little bit wait is expected as it is a Sunday I assume. They have a bar, also have an outdoor seating. Overall it's a good experience and would like to come back and try the weekday deals.

When my friend and I decided to meet at BJ Brewhouse, we forgot it was a holiday. Much busier than usual during the noon hour. Apparently at least one server had not shown up and that added to the delay in being seated. We ended up in the bar area by the window. Our server was extra busy and it was hard to flag her down as we were quite a distance from her work station. Our food was fine. My friend enjoyed her clam chowder in a bread bowl. The top of the bowl had been sliced into a small piece and toasted. I had a bite and it was delicious. My friend also ordered hot tea. No choice on tea was offered and she ended up with two bags of chamomile. That selection was fine with her but quite odd that a black tea was not offered. I had the vegetarian BJ Brewhouse Bowl. (Also available with chicken, shrimp, or salmon.) Love the combination and quite filling. One of the more economical lunches (aside from the lunch specials.) Overall BJ's has a good menu. Something for almost every taste. Pazookies are not my favorite so it would be nice to have another dessert option other than a scoop of ice cream. BJ Brewhouse is looking a bit "tired" ... which can be said of all of Sunvalley. But it still is a decent option when in the area. I'll be back ... despite my three star rating. Food is four stars, but atmosphere and service lower.

Came to BJ's twice and each time the service exceeded expectations. The staff here are friendly, attentive, and quick. BJ is also kid/family friendly. The food, in particular the smash burger is surprisingly good. I always just thought BJ was known for its pizza and pazooki, but the burger is nothing to sneeze at. It's very flavorful, well proportioned, and hits just right. The fries are also crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - very addictive. Will definitely come back and recommend for a family outing.

Went for our 27th anniversary, and the experience was amazing. I ordered a somewhat-complicated manhattan that wasn't on the menu and our server Justina made it happen! She was super accommodating with my wife's tree nut allergy as well which was so refreshing, since not a lot of restaurants nowadays look out for the little guy. We ordered the Mac&cheese balls for starters, and my prime rib was cooked great as well, compliments to the kitchen! The music was a bit loud but thankfully it was good music :-) definitely another great anniversary on the books because out or server! You rock Justina! -Rich.

Hello. My friends and I were at Bjs yesterday, June 11th at around 8 pm when the mall closed. We were a group of 4 teenage girls and felt like we were getting mistreated because of that. Once we arrived we had to wait about 15-20 minutes which is fine we didn't mind that. When we were seated one of the servers who is a little bit on the shorter side and wore glasses threw us three coasters when there were four of us and said "'ll be back to take your guys's orders." About 15-20 minutes go by and no sign of any workers to take our order. When we were helped by a different sever we ordered drinks and our pizookies together since that's all we were there for. Another 15 minutes go by, no drinks in sight and not even another coaster. After about 45 minutes we get our drinks and then soon after we got out pizookies but, one of them were wrong so the servers brought it back to the kitchen. My friends and I asked for some plates and a couple more spoons and when we were given them, one of the plates were dirty with pizza grease and some sort of pizza toppings. (i'll insert a photo below) We ate the first pizookie in about 10 minutes and waited for our second one for about 20 minutes. While we were eating, we weren't checked up on at all but the tables around us were. When my friends and I were ready to pay we scanned the qr code on our table and found out it didn't work. So, we tried to get one of our servers attention to get the check but we were completely ignored. Once the check was brought we waited another 20 minutes for our server to come pick it up. I understand restaurants can get busy but, at around the time we were there it wasn't that busy at all. My friends and I noticed that all the tables around us were getting served and checked up on regularly and we weren't. After we left we had called the restaurant and were put on hold for the manager. When they answered it instantly hung up. We called again and talked to one of the managers didn't seem to care. We have gone to this location before and it was perfectly fine. I just wanted to come on here and warn people that my friends and I did not have a good experience here yesterday.

BJ's is killer when it comes to pizookie. The Concord location has pleasant people working there. Dining at BJ's is always a great time, sports, beers, mozz sticks, can't go wrong. The biscoff pizookie was not as overwhelming as I expected. It was crispy and warm. The ice cream combo was spot on.

4 of us sat in the bar at about 7:45, Thurs, 5/15/25. After several minutes, seeing no servers except 1 scrolling on her phone by the bar, a friendly server showed up & took our drink order. Several minutes to get iced tea & Pepsi and another 5 minutes for a Bloody Mary. Ordered bacon cheeseburger, medium; rack of ribs; sirloin steak medium and fried chicken. At least 30 min later food shows up. No bacon on burger & it was rare, ribs were cold. Not cooked & cooled off cold, but straight from the fridge cold. Sent back to be "cooked." Asked for bacon. The steak was very rare. Sent back for medium. Chicken was fine although the gravy was saltier than necessary. 20 min later ribs come back. Still cold!! Another 10 min & a cheeseburger comes out to replace the steak! WTF! Sent back & change order from steak to ribs thinking it would be faster. 10 min later the ribs show up. Very cold to the touch. Server touched at our insistence & the poor guy just shook his head & said he was so sorry. By then we were beyond fed up. We were only charged for the chicken dinner & 4 drinks. I never got my tea refill so server gave me one to go. 3 of our meals came with pizookis so 2 go theirs to go because we were tired, hungry & 1 person had to drive to Vacaville. It wasn't until we were leaving that I realized I never got the pizooki that came with my meal, the chicken! We did talk to the mgr who did comp the 3 meals. The ribs were all taken home to be cooked! She did send out 1 additional rib meal but since 2 of us ordered them, they each took half the ribs home. The burger was so bad (bacon tasted odd) that it wasn't taken home. I think this was probably the worst restaurant experience of my life and I'm old. I eat at BJs 1-2 times a month for 20 years. I also order thru Grub Hub & Uber Eats. But I'm done. Everyone makes mistakes but this was beyond normal! 4 entrees, 3 wrong with 1 wrong twice, 1 wrong 3 times. Come to think of it, all 4 were wrong because I didn't get my pizooki! The kitchen obviously doesn't give a damn and doesn't look like the mgr does either. There are so many items I like at BJs and the prices are good but there are so many other places. I think I have only sent food back 4-5 times in my long life. 3 of those were very rare steaks or burgers which I want medium well. I can not eat raw meat. Another time was recently when I was given the wrong order so I am not a Karen who complains about every little thing. By the way, the hostess wasn't the friendliest person either. The past few times I've gone to BJs I've felt like apologizing to the hostess for interrupting her highly important duties and inconveniencing her. As a result I just go to the bar so I don't bother the poor overworked hostess. Also, the bathroom floors are filthy. The amount of dirt in the corners of the stalls is beyond comprehension. This place needs a complete revamp and a lot of new employees. read more

Im a regular that comes in 4 times a week and love the servers and bartenders there. Today was upsetting to see when I came in I witnessed a server i never seen before I ended up asking for her name and its Alyssa S. She was in front of the restaurant screaming profanity saying "go suck a dick" and threatening one of my bartenders telling them to go outside and telling her that she is too scared of her. This is unbelievable behavior and really bizarre. All of this because the bartender was smiling she said what the fuck are you smiling at. Someone needs to do something because the saftey of the people that are always kind and nice to me is important. Management needs to step in and do something. read more

Our server was terrific, but the kitchen got backed up with a large "to go" order, so one of our meals didn't arrive until the rest of us were almost finished. Was NOT the server's fault, so we gave her a generous tip, but the kitchen needs to understand that the customers sitting in the restaurant should be given some priority. The meal that arrived so ridiculously late should have been deducted from the bill. Don't know if we'll risk a return visit. Sad. read more

Been rockin' with BJ's ever since they opened this location in the Sunvalley Mall. I literally used to come here almost weekly back in the day. They have to best happy hour, the most delicious pizza, and it's s great place to catch the games when they're on. Fast forward to now, and my appearances have shrunken over the years. But, I still love coming here when I get the chance to do so. As I continue this series of chain restaurant reviews, it wouldn't be right if I didn't mention one of my favorite restaurants. Yep, you guessed it; that's BJ'S!!! Been coming here for years and my love for this place is still the same. The food is delicious, the drinks are superb, and the service has always been wonderful. I hhold a special place in my heart for their pizza. Those roasted Roma tomatoes are just mm hmm good! My sister introduced me to their pizza many moons ago, and I've adored it ever since. I've had all kinds of entrees here from salmon, to salads, to pasta. For the most part, everything has always been extremely delicious. They used to have this pasta called "Chardonnay shrimp pasta"... damn it was so addictive! I used to order it religiously. I wish they would bring it back. I remember when they accidentally threw away my leftover container of that pasta because I left it at the table. They were nice enough to make me a fresh one to-go at no extra charge. How about that for service?! I remember bringing my Mom here for here for the first time, and she couldn't stop raving about their flatbread. She went and tried to recreate it at home. I mean, the food is just delicious. They also makes some bomb ass drinks! I absolutely love their cocktails, especially when they're happy hour priced (wink wink). They also have an awesome variety of beer on tap and wines for the sipping. They always have some kind of awesome nightly deal going on. And their pizookies! Can't forget about that! Love those damn things to death! When I come with a group, I already know that we're getting the trio. My favorite is their white chocolate, but I'd be down for any and ever flavor to be honest. As long as it's warm and gooey in the center and topped with that beloved vanilla ice cream; you won't have no problems with me. I dined in for lunch right before COVID, and everything was stellar! Got myself a mini pizza and a mini pizookie plus a nice little cider to go with it. The cider was only $4 for a lunch add-on. The mini pizza came with a yummy Caesar salad. Basically, ya girl got the hookup and everything tasted delicious! I don't know what it is, but I've never encountered an angry staff member. Everyone is always so pleasant here. Sometimes it gets crowded, but the staff has always been good at acknowledging this and they try their best to accommodate. I can't comment on how their to-go order process is because I've only dined in. However, I've always had a wonderful experience here at BJ's. I can't wait to come back once things get back to normal (whenever that may be?!). read more

I came to BJ's the other week with some friends late Saturday night. We sat at the bar area and our server was very attentive. I got a personal size Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza $14.45 which was yummy, I saved half for lunch the next day. I also got one of their Salted Caramel Pizookies $8.45, (*Pro tip: Ask for the ice cream on the side so that it doesn't harden the cookie). The cookie was warm and gooey, it reminded me of the Deluxe Salted Caramel cookie that they sell at Insomnia. Overall, I was a satisfied customer. read more

My last BJ experience wasn't the best but I was sitting in traffic on the way home and decided to stop in and hit happy hour until traffic died down. I got some of the happy hour specials. Avocado egg rolls a mini deep dish pizza. Berry burst cider which is one of my favs and a call drink Jameson ginger ale. Nothing was over $6 I believe all this was under $25. Bartender was friendly and the manger I believe his name is Pat. Went above and beyond. Checked on me ask me how my food was I told him my egg rolls were a little bland I wish they were spicer. He came back with some Saracha Aoli and told me to try. It paired perfect and just the extra spice I needed. Food and service was great today. 5 stars. read more

The featured drafts have me coming back often (to any and all BJ's locations), skipping all the way from my car to my table, then after a couple of hours, staggering and falling to my car. Grand Cru, which they only sometimes have, has a staggering 10.00% ABV (alcohol by volume) -- yes! The beer, the pizza, and the PIZOOKIE: ================================= They're known, mainly, for these 3 things. They have nice selection of their own brand of beers, and name brands (with my aforementioned Cru). The pizza (Chicago-style and a few flatbreads) is good, but not great (it's thick like focaccia, but in no way close to buttery biscuit-like from Chicago). The PIZOOKIE is a must, a hot cookie with a scoop of ice cream -- believe me, INCREDIBLE, 8 flavors to choose from PLUS an outstanding monkey bread, too. For food, worthy items: ===================== 1. BBQ Chicken Chop Salad [5.0 stars] -- You can never go wrong with this, it's perhaps the best anywhere (CPK and Wood Ranch are the other worthy places). 2. Southern Comfort Crispy Chicken Sandwich [5.0 stars] -- this could not be a better sandwich, it's perfect. Crispy fried chicken, slice of ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, Alfredo sauce, Dijon, and a great toasted bun, and it's served with fries! 3. Root beer glazed ribs [4.5 stars] -- 5 baby back pork ribs with a sticky root beer glaze with a side slaw. Best, as a snack or appetizer, too good to share. 4. New Orleans Jambalaya [4.5 stars] -- Chicken breast, shrimp, chicken-andouille sausage, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, all in a spicy Cajun broth. So good! We generally think this location is ok but today it was not good. Not only was the service lacking with check ins and we waited for about 15 mins without someone even coming to the table to take our order. Drink order came out late for which the server did apologize which was nice. But apart from that my chicken sandwich was not the siracha kind I ordered and on top of that it seemed as if it was defrosted in a hurry and warmed up as the chicken was hard and chewy. Only reason why I didn't rate it lower because my son was happy with his pizookie. read more

I just want to mention the staff and the Management. Sal in particular, (manager) he was very profesional and understanding. We explained our situation and he completely accommodated our family. If at first you can't get a response do not hesitate to contact the manager. They can do things the employees cannot. Service - Communication is key. Our server was probably overwhelmed. She started out fine, but when things started to go south as a result of kitchen errors she lost it. She did not return to communicate with us that the wait for our food would be longer than usual as a result of a new cook at the "steak" station. We waited nearly an hour, with two hungry kids, for our food. It arrived luke warm. We ate it because by that time we were starving. Drinks were never refilled. Server was MIA most of the time. I've waited tables. Kitchen can cause disasters that servers must overcome with SERVICE. 1) Communicate 2) offer to bring out bread/chips/fries - no need to provide free of charge or maybe if things are really going south - yeah - bring it out free. Get people eating. 3) refill drinks. 4) clean up the floors!! There is no reason for spilled drinks to be left. We watched staff step over spills on the floor. Crazy! Those are slip and fall hazards folks! Severe injury waiting to happen. I doubt we will be back. Other tables also noted how terrible the service was. read more

I went on Thursday, March 13. Worst experience service was awful. They had so many excuses as to why we sat there for 20 minutes if not more for a server then the manager I'm assuming he was the manager came to the Order food came out. it wasn't that good. Some man stood around our table yapping on the phone. We were seated next to a door. That was the exit door so every time someone went out, the cold air was freezing. I talked to the manager and explained how I was disappointed in the food. The service once again he had excuses as to why The waitress was having a hard time because she was having a hard time at the other two tables that she had, I don't understand what they have to do with us, and it didn't help that my food wasn't all that good, and I even said that my wontons were not deep-fried. We just wasted 60 bucks. Basically he didn't pump anything he didn't offer to pump anything he just said oh we didn't have enough servers two people called out. They didn't have the correct bowls to go bowls for the soup they only had cups and then I didn't fill up the cup. It was really disappointing. read more

I didn't get the chance to try the food, so I can't comment on that. However, my son and I stopped in for dinner today, and our experience with the service was disappointing. When we arrived, there were two hosts at the front--one had her back to us, and the other was looking at us. I waited patiently while they finished their conversation, which seemed more like gossip based on their expressions. After about two minutes, neither of them greeted us or asked if we needed a table. We ended up leaving. Overall, the customer service was terrible. read more

I've been seated for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes I called someone over to take my order, and I still don't have the beer I ordered. Never again!!!!!!!! Worst service I've had in a long, long time. Marissa K was the server. I'm not saying it's her fault because I think it's BJ's responsibility to train her properly. For example train her to say a simple greeting and "I'll be with you as soon as I can" or "I will buy this beer for you since it took 30 minutes to serve it to you." I was a server myself and these small gestures that take hardly a moment can go a long, long way. read more

Monday night football at Bj I said for dinner and drinks,, boy what a downer, drinks were ok, but the food, that's a different story, Advocate egg roll sounded good but it was plain and over fried, I ordered the French dip,, cold fries, cold sandwich. I've been coming to this location of BJ's for quite some time; I've lived in the area for about eight years now. It's really nice inside, sometimes it can be a little loud but it's a great place for groups so that's to be expected. It's super convenient that you can make reservations ahead of time, plus you can also order online/over the phone for to-go orders and pick up curbside! They have special parking spots out front for those picking up orders. I will say that all the servers I've ever had at this location are always really nice and attentive to their tables so definitely extra points for that. Their menu is really extensive so sometimes it makes it a bit hard to choose from. Their fries never disappoint, their drink selection is great, and I LOVE coming here for their Pizookies. If you haven't had one yet you have to try. Sometimes I'll even order a Pizookie with my dinner at the same time instead of as a dessert for after my meal because I can't wait lol. Overall, great place to come to with a big group of friends. Multiple TVs to watch the games, big bar, lots of seating, friendly servers, and satisfying food. read more

My husband and I went to lunch at BJs really looking forward to it. Unfortunately very bad experience. It wasn't busy at all. Our waitress took awhile long time in even noticing us. Waiting extremely long time for our meal and our pizookie was hard as a rock. She messed up our bill added thirty more dollars to it. Just like to share my GREAT experience that we had tonight at the BJ's Bar & Grill in Concord. We arrived and were lucky to get some immediate seats at the bar. We were greeted by 3 great employees Mel, Sally & Maddy. They all provided some GREAT OUTSTANDING service !! They were extremely polite & professional. As we were having our dinner, we couldn't help noticing the great customer service they were providing to all the customers at the bar. And I have to say, we were extremely impressed. We frequently dine out and it's very rare that we see the customer service these individuals provide. I had asked to speak to the manager whose name is Jose, I believe. Briefly spoke with him regarding his staff and the customer service that his staff was providing. Jose himself was a very pleasant person to speak with. Had a great personality and enjoyed very much speaking with him. I will definitely be sharing our great experience with family and friends about this location and their staff. read more

This place has gone downhill in food quality and yet has increased their prices for everything. Had a honey crisp salad that was lifeless lettuce, flavorless chicken and the whole thing was warm. For two salads and a beer and a soda the total was almost $50! No more BJ's for me! read more

When we arrived last night, Monday, May 8, at 5pm, we found an empty reception area and waited several minutes for the hostess to greet us while she and several staff members chatted at the take out area, no one acknowledge us. Eventually the hostess came over and told us it would be a 10 - 15 minute wait. She offered us open seating in the bar area, but that was not option for our 93 year old mother with a walker. Waiting 10 -15 minutes was not a problem for us, but oddly we did notice the restaurant side was nearly empty...three tables used. After waiting more than 30 minutes we were finally seated. Once seated our waitress quickly took our beverage, appetizer and entrée orders. Beverages and appetizers were served promptly. From here on everything went south....My Mediterranean tacos arrived...10 minutes later my mother's cheeseburger arrived...then, after another 10 minutes my husband's cheesesteak sandwich arrived but only after asking the waitress about its whereabouts. Unbelievable!! It took nearly 2 hours to complete our dinner in a nearly empty restaurant. BJs used to be to so good...We are so disappointed, this has always been our go to place to take our mom out when we visit but I guess we will be looking for another. read more

This my grandduaghter's fav place. The menu has a good range of food, including my granddaughter's fav - cheese macaroni. The appetizers are great, also. My fav are the avacado rolls. I've visited 2x this week to have a glass with friends. I'm not a beer person but the cider are consistently Amazing. Don't pass go, go visit and try for yourself. We normally sit on the outside patio where there are heaters so you feel cozy. One note it is totally ok to bring food and your fur baby.

There were some new items I came across, so I had my work cut out to limit my newfound desires. Ultimately, we ordered a few appetizers and some entrees, although some served cross purposes! We started with some boneless Ancho BBQ wings, truffle fries, onion ring tower, cheese curds, and then moved on to chicken nachos, a couple of kids' pepperoni pizzas, a shiitake garlic noodles, a Gardein adult mac 'n' cheese, and a BBQ bacon burger. Very tasty, with lots of mushrooms and a garlic presence that was not overpowering. Would definitely get it again! The Gardein mac 'n' cheese was large as well, with lots of Gardein chicken in almost every bite. But the nachos - they were enormous! So big that the guy who ordered them didn't even try his BBQ bacon burger; that went home for a later meal! And the kids' pepperoni pizzas were also large, and with fries, were easily an adult meal as well. And we took home almost a whole pizza! But customer service needs a serious rebranding. I have never had a good in person/over the phone experience. Their food speaks for itself, but the customer service skills really takes away the value of a local business that has been around for years. I had heard so many great things about BJ's that I couldn't wait to go and try out their signature burger and their Ultimate Long Island. But there were too many things wrong with my experience: Strike 1: I tried their signature BJ's Burger with additional bacon, and the sandwich is served on a toasted garlic french roll instead of a traditional hamburger bun. Oddly enough, I didn't taste any garlic at all while biting into the roll. I had asked for my burger to be cooked medium-rare, and it was served medium-well. (At least the wedge-cut seasoned fries made up for the burger's lack of flavor and juiciness!) Strike 2: I was a bit disappointed in their Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea. It was watered down and had a dark amber color instead of the light blond color it should have. Lo and behold, with my first sip, my taste buds were assaulted with the sweet taste of PEPSI instead of the signature Coke. It also had notes of orange and other things that I do not believe should be in anything called a Long Island. (After drinking it, I looked up the ingredients online and realized that it is created with vodka, gin, rum, orange liquer, sweet & sour and Pepsi instead of the classic vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet & sour, and Coke.) The mixture they serve is definitely NOT recommended. Strike 3: The area in which we were seated was facing a window at sunset. As the sun set behind the building, it suddenly came into view and the waitstaff could not adjust the blinds in any fashion to prevent the searing white light from blinding us as we ate. Apparently, part of the blinds above the window cannot be adjusted. Anyway, the burger and the "Long Island" cost me $30. I guess the only good thing was that the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA championship while I was there! NOTE: The floors are extremely slippery, so make sure you are wearing a decent pair of non-slip tennis shoes or boots that are made with recycled radial tires. Don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Stopped by BJ's in Concord with a party of 10 to watch the FIFA final (1:0), and it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences we all had in a loooong time. We were seated around noon on a Sunday, right before the game started, got served, and then... nothing. We've ordered another round and some more finger food ..... NOTHING! We waited well over 30-40 minutes without drinks or food. Eventually we found out our server, Elizabeth, had gone on her lunch break during peak hours with no proper coverage. We literally had no server. We had to ask the manager to step in just so we could get some drinks and place orders. Every server we tried to politely flag down acted like we were bothering them. One even pointed toward the packed bar and basically said, "Until all those people at the bar get served, you're not getting your drinks." That's not something you expect to hear when you're already sitting at a table waiting forever. When Elizabeth came back, instead of apologizing, she gave us attitude and told us not to order through any other server except her!!! After everything that had already happened, that was pretty frustrating. On top of that party over 10 yet 18% gratitude by default. Really?!? with managers help - not this time! To be fair, the food itself was fine. Nothing amazing, but it wasn't overcooked and everything came out decent. The dessert with the three little pie bowls topped with different ice cream flavors was actually kinda cool. BJ's still has a solid beer selection, and the beer was fresh as always. 2 this time where should've been 1. Unfortunatly, good food and good beer can't make up for service this bad. The complete lack of communication, poor planning, and dismissive attitude from the staff ruined what should've been a fun afternoon. can i emphasize how obvious it is that this business is only out to make money with only interest of themselves and not their customers? let me begin... when i was sat, i was sat literally within inches of another dining customer. all of the tables were soo clustered together that there was no breathing room. i could hear everything in full vivid detail of what the people next to me were talking about without trying to eaves drop. now lets talk about the food... i ordered a steak. it was so chewy, i couldn't even hardly swallow the thing without thinking i was going to choke. i ordered a beer. it was a simple 12 oz. fat tire they they had the audacity to charge me $6.25 for. thats straight rape! sorry. i understand that you all want to charge as much as possible and try to keep the tab up so that the servers get a grip of tips being %20 of the bill, but they honestly dont deserve it for the lack of work they do for the over priced menu, when there are food runners, and bus boys doing most of their job. the servers wear a "professional attire" with their white button up collars and their attitude of being so sophisticated, its such a joke. anyway.. my biggest prob was having to sit next to people without any space between us. how freaking tacky! just cram us in there and roll in those bucks guys!! ... most def not about their customers. BJ's feels very much like a gigantic sports bar. It probably is. I joined a friend for Happy Hour here on Thursday. We walked in a bit early (nearly 4pm) and headed straight for the bar. Our bartender was energetic, helpful and very knowledgeable about all their draft beers....and trust me there's a lot! I like when places give you samples to try before you buy. She definitely helped us out there...I was able to sample a "Nutty Brunette" and a "Jeremiah Red." Gotta go with the red for round 1. After talking and drinking, I realized that I was starting to feel a bit loopy and ordering food would be the best idea. Mini Pizzas were 1/2 off, and so of course we had to get one: Margherita Mini deep-dish pizza. Not salty, felt a bit light yet filling enough to eliminate the buzz. That can't happen so we decided to order another round...this time she let us sample the Lindeman's Framboise, and a pear sparkling cider (sorry, didn't catch the name). Lindeman's Framboise was my choice, a sweet raspberry fizzy cider-like beverage. Not as heavy as a malt beverage like Mike's Hard Lemonade. By the time we were done, the restaurant had filled up and the room was a-flutter with people talking about how glad they are to be done with work for the day. The staff appears friendly but they should listen better and be specific with what the order is. I ordered a New California Supreme Pizza and I received not what I ordered. It turns out the waiter only wrote down what he thought/assumed was the ingredients of the Pizza "Spinach and Artichokes" but not the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA. Unfortunately when I realized what I had ordered, our waiter was on a dinner break and someone else took over. When I asked the waitress that took over "Excuse me what kind of Pizza is this?" she responded really RUDELY and said, "What do you mean what is this?" Then I asked that I could borrow a menu and I showed her what I wanted the NEW CALIFORNIA SUPREME PIZZA and she said, "Well that's what he wrote on the slip, he wrote "Spinach and artichoke pizza" once again in a snotty tone of voice then finally she asked, "Do you want me to change it? I can give you a new one." Even though I was disappointed and I didn't want to ruin my evening, I just shook my head and said, "no it's okay". We are fans of BJ's in general; NOT THIS LOCATION. Our server Savannah was horrible. Barely seen and certainly not attentive. Server stations to either side of us, the servers were hustling. People coming in well after us were getting their food; pizzas, large orders.... etc. Savan... takes our order.... close to 30 minutes later NO FOOD. Motioned to who appeared to be the Manager, who made eye contact then went directly into the bathroom. Able to flag down our server, she says Oh... We're waiting for the french dip. (We ordered a french dip and large pizza). Finally the order arrives. THE PIZZA WAS WRONG! (the receipt shows the server put it in wrong) and the meat to the french dip dried out. Kept the sandwich; starving. The pizza was reordered... Being fans of BJ's, was disappointed to find the pizza is no better; overall, than a takeout from that delivery place with a Domino on the box. BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (2 out of 5 stars) We really enjoy the food at BJ's, but the service continues to fall short, both with dine-in and takeout. I've spoken to Jose, the GM, and other managers on multiple occasions in the past, yet the problems keep happening. Tonight I placed a takeout order--and once again, it was wrong. My girlfriend's entire entrée was missing. I normally double-check, but I didn't this time. When I got home and noticed, I tried calling the restaurant to resolve it. I was on hold for over 25 minutes with no answer, and never got the chance to speak with anyone or request a refund. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. It's really disappointing because the food is great, but the lack of consistency, poor order accuracy, and no accountability have become the norm. We want to keep supporting BJ's, but it's hard to trust that we'll get what we pay for. read more

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands! A super attentive busboy noticed no one was at the host stand and--like a restaurant superhero--quickly ditched his dishes to seat us. Absolute gem of a human! Then came Austin, our server, who was all smiles (seriously, so many smiles!) and made sure we had everything we needed. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he even helped us navigate the menu like a pro. Now, onto the food! The tortilla soup? Packed with an incredible amount of chicken, though a bit salty for my taste. But the clam chowder? Absolute perfection. And let's talk about that vanilla ice cream--so good, we were raving about it. Turns out, it's Austin's favorite too! I had a wonderful dining experience at BJ's Brewhouse in Concord, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Julie M. From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and comfortable. Julie was attentive without being overbearing, had great menu recommendations (the Southwest salad was spot-on!), and checked in just enough to make sure we were doing well without interrupting our conversation. Our drinks were always full, our orders were accurate, and the timing between courses was perfect. Even when the restaurant got busier, Julie remained calm, friendly, and efficient. It's clear that she takes pride in providing great service. Julie definitely made our visit worthwhile . We'll definitely be back--and hope to sit in her section again! read more

I've been in there 10 times in 2016. 2 out of 10 times they get things right. I usually order the Chipotle Salmon and usually what happens is its undercooked and with a different sauce than what what described. One time it was so bad it has has gotten me sick... The 2 times they got it right was very good however... service was lacking. There have been times where it took an hour to get seated (understandable) then 1:45hr to get our food because the server forgot about us and served the other tables. Also, never forget your wallet because the manager refused to let me look under the table even though I knew it was there. So, this is an update to my last review. Everything about my last review still stands - good food, good beer. Try their IPA and/or the Nit Wit - very good. Why the downgrade? Service. It was atrocious. The drinks came quick, which was nice. We ordered our food (two mini pizzas and a salad). It took 30min for the salad and another 40min for the pizza. During this time we heard nothing from our server. He was too busy with the group of 15ppl that had been seated in his section. When our food finally arrived, it was cold. It took another 5min for the server to get us some ranch. I get that the guy was busy, but at least check in or ask a co-worker/manager for some help. read more

absolutely disheartened by the service I received by not only the server but the staff in the front. Our server started out with a very rude attitude at the first interaction, but the worst was when me and my party of 5 were flat out told "you do know that what you are ordering is $33." What?? We were a group of younger people, coming from someone in the restaurant industry i understand the notion of younger people not "tipping" or being harder to deal with, but me and my party were nothing but respectful and received very poor service by our server Makenzie. The soups here are TERRIBLE! The clam chowder was so beyond salty, the brocolli cheddar tasted like canned nacho sauce, and the chicken tortilla soup was the only one passable. It had several slivers of avocado and chips I picked out leaving the highly toxic processed brown stuff on the bottom. The pizzas were above average. Stick with the pizzas. This place should be prohibited from serving these inedible soups. They are about beer and the soups sucked. Even the caesar salad was terrible. Jack in the Box salads taste better. Food is generally good and have always had good service, until today. Had really poor server this morning in the bar. Got order wrong, then argued it was us who was wrong. He never once came by the table, other than to collect dirty plates. Didn't seem to care. Overheard him complaining to other customers he had a large group that wanted separate checks (the reason he wasn't very attentive to them). I had such a great experience at BJ's, and a huge part of that was our server, Justina. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and made us feel really welcome. She checked on us at the right times without being overbearing, kept our drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. she had a great attitude the whole time and made the experience feel easy and enjoyable. Honestly one of the best servers I've had in a while. Ate lunch here today. One thing I don't understnad is why the don't offer a lunch menu on the weekends. They said because most people have more time on weekends and the food on the lunch menu is designed to be made quickly. OK, but what about the poeple that don't eat those huge portions. SHe ended up letting me get a weekend lunch item. Which was very nice of her. Salad was good. BJ's is like an Applebees, but a little better. A good place overall for lunch. I used to love BJ's like crazy, then I think their corporate offices expanded too fast and in recent years it's gotten a little "chain-y." Their pizzas are still delicious, but for the most part the rest of their food is over-salty and you can tell it's pre-packaged for the masses. I will give them that their beers are quite tasty, and they make a mean bloody mary (which goes well with beer too!), so I do enjoy going there, especially if a good sports game is on. Overall, I'd say 3 and a HALF stars, but Yelp doesn't allow the half star bonus. :) read more

Saturday i went to BJ's around ll:30 with 2 other people. The restaurant is dark and dreary. We asked for a window table and the waiter said "I have to go talk to my supervisor." Really? There was a total of 20 customers in the restaurant, otherwise, empty. I turned around and walked out. If a restaurant is open for the lunch "crowd" they should have enoiugh employees to adequately serve the customers. It was Saturday and noon houir . . so we left and went to Rred Robin and had a wonderful meal . .served immediately . No hassle read more

Stopped by BJ's in Concord for dinner and had a good overall experience. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Biscoff Pazookie...warm, rich, and absolutely worth saving room for. Easily the best thing we ordered. The Ahi Tuna Salad was decent but not particularly memorable. Cocktails were okay and got the job done, though nothing stood out. Service was friendly, attentive, and one of the stronger parts of the experience. The food overall was average solid chain restaurant fare. It is popular though and always busy. read more

Every time I attend BJ's I am pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service I receive. The food is great and they always let me sample the beer, considering I am not usually a beer drinking. I've ordered anything from their pizza to avocado rolls to their delicious balsamic chicken with mashed potatoes. Their wide variety allows me to try something different every time. I have been at different locations but this is my favorite. One host, Violet, knows me to be a regular and she is always very welcoming. Give it a try! read more
