While it is a pain that this place can get really crowded at times, typically it is worth the wait! I have been to this BJs location quite a few times, but had a pretty good experience when I last went here yesterday. I went with my family kind of early which was nice, because we just beat the rush! We were seated right away, and our server was kind and did a good job. To start off we ordered mozzarella sticks. I can be picky when it comes to my m-sticks, but these ones were incredibly good, was hard not to eat all of them. Didn't come with enough marinara sauce. One great thing about BJs is the massive menu, there are so many amazing options to choose from, it is hard! On Sunday I was struggling between going for the Avocado Eggrolls (used to order these all the time back in high school) or the roasted vegetable and goat cheese flatbread. My mom and I decided we would get both of them and then split them! I hate to say it, but the Avocado Eggrolls just were not near as good as I had remembered them. They were kinda too cream cheese-y and spicy. They were ok, just not great. The flatbread on the other hand was incredible! I think I may have tried it once before about a year ago, but it was so delicious. Wish I had only ordered that! For dessert we had to finish off with a pizookie..it is a BJs must! We just got a regular one. My only problem was that the cookie was all stuck to the pan! Had to kind of scrape it out. We destroyed it though, it was incredible. The curbside takeaway is accurate, fast, and convenient. The weekend Prime rib is an absolute hit. We were given what we estimated to be nearly a 2" cut of rare prime rib. The mashed potatos and asparagus were also heavy handed. We are so impressed we're planning on having this every weekend. The hostess was really rude, I can't knock a place that dishes out free food to me and my fellow service members, but she was extremely unpleasant; consider it constructive criticism... Perception is key, and she was not enjoying her job or dealing with the people. Based on the Google search I did ahead of time, BJ's has a few different vegan options. If you get pizza, you have to go with the gluten-free crust because that's the only crust they have that's vegan. I got the vegetarian pizza with no cheese on gluten-free crust. It was good, although I did bring my own dairy-free ranch dressing to kick it up a notch. :-) I asked the server ahead of time if the pizza sauce was vegan and he said yes. Later on I saw online that their pizza sauce is not vegan; only their marinara sauce is vegan. I'm taking a star away from this review because I feel the servers should know what's vegan and what's not....I trusted him when he said the pizza sauce was vegan. That's a shame. We ordered in food from the location in Scottsdale, AZ which included their avocados rolls and pizza. The avocado in the rolls were over cooked and did not taste right. I've had the same appetizer at California Pizza Kitchen and the avocado was still green not brown and unappealing. The BBQ chicken pizza was dry, not enough sauce to be able to swallow the pizza. In fact, all four of us were not feeling well after this meal. I attribute it to the avocado rolls, they were terrible! We will not be back or may try something else on the menu. read more

Well, I don't drink beer. That being said. I'm a big fan of BJs. I've eaten there a couple of times before, but never at the Desert Ridge location. I found the atmosphere great. Nice and open, clean and plenty of flat screens viewable from all locations. The service staff was nothing amazing, but friendly and efficient. Great menu, with lots to choose from -and the dish I got, the Piranha Pale-Ale Chili Cheese Burger was amazing. The Pale-Ale Chili had a great flavor. I'd say I couldn't stop eating it, but it was so big I had to. My wife had a regular BJs burger, which was boring, but she said was tasty. Daughter ordered off a good kids menu - lots of choices for a reasonable price. Our waiter was good, but he was the only positive aspect of our recent experience at BJ's. I called 15 minutes ahead and asked to be added to the wait list, as we were on our way. We were told, "No problem" and that the wait time was currently 25 minutes. 15 minutes later we arrived and checked in, as requested, at the host stand. The hostess didn't have us in the system. She turned to the other, more senior hostess Ashley, who flat out lied to us: "Oh, it'll be 25 minutes from now. We usually like for people to call in 30 minutes to an hour ahead." None of this was mentioned in our phone call. I ask to speak to a manager and set a timer for 25 minutes on my phone. Stephanie, a manager comes out, and I explain the situation: we called 15 minutes ahead of arrival and were told we were added to the wait list and that it would be 25 minutes. We arrive and are told that it'll now be 25 minutes from then (we were never in the system, apparently). Stephanie apologizes and assured me that what happened is indeed not normal procedure - especially the bit about wanting patrons to call ahead 30 mins to an hour ahead (total bs). She assures me that we'll be seated. Time passes and still nothing. The phone alarm goes off and I go up to check on the situation. Ashley, the hostess, now tells me that it'll now be 10 to 15 more minutes! She has now exceeded her original wait time quote by double. Ridiculous. When I mention this, I get a sarcastic, "Mhm." from Ashley and that's it. No, "Sorry about that." Nothing. Also, Stephanie never returns to seat us or see if we were taken care of. She simply listened to the grievance and blew us of. We end up waiting 15 more minutes and are finally seated. The rude host staff scowling as we are exported to our table. We order a couple of salads and a kids meal thinking that'll be time saving, at this point. It wasn't. The kitchen was weeded something awful and our food would take nearly 40 minutes to come out... again, we ordered salads. When they finally arrived they were decent. Nothing out of this world. Last time we'll be going to BJs. It's always been an element of barely managed chaos at this location. But, they've reached a tipping point and, apparently, have decided that the way to address the issues at hand is to simply crank up the smugness, condescending attitudes and apathy. This issue also includes the Chandler location. My wife placed a pick up order online for the Chandler location. She paid with 2 $25 gift cards and the remaining balance on her debit card. When the transaction went through it went to the Desert Ridge location. We immediately called and spoke to the manager Jenelle who was extremely UNHELPFUL. She placed us on hold multiple times and finally came back on the line and said they canceled the order and would need to send emails to corporate to have new gift cards sent. I asked her if she could simply call the Chandler location, tell them the order and work the financials out between the two locations. Either your corporate policies prevent your employees the ability to provide valuable customer service or your Managers are unwilling to provide it. During the call, my husband called the Chandler location and spoke to manager Nickolas, who was equally UNHELPFUL. Hate to say that, but it's the truth. Not a place for pizza. Some items are good on the menu though. Now, when I explained my dissatisfaction she told me that is how we do it. Manager happened to find out my displeasure. He have me excuse the dough was not proofed properly. Whatever that dough is NOT deep dish dough but it IS pan pizza dough. Enough said. The service was fast and friendly. There were a lot of people there but you didn't feel like it was crowded. I applaud all the restaurants that are trying to reopen and serve the public. I have found our new go to spot. I really enjoyed the quality of food and coo prices. Amber was our server, if you love great service request her section. She is on her job I love how she anticipates what you need before you have requested there was never a moment where I had to wait for her to come back she visited our table at least 10 times and it wasn't annoying it was perfect. The experience last night was very disappointing. Wait staff was rude and gluten free food is disgusting. When asked if they had a gluten free menu only a few items were available. When asked if they could make a grilled cheese sandwich the wait person said of course. What was delivered was gluten free hamburger bun with a slice of cheese nuked in the microwave. Really? Went to BJs tonite and ordered ribs and a "loaded baked potato". They said we don't have any loaded baked potatoes so I figured there was a potato shortage. It came with tri tips that were basically raw. My mom ordered ribeye and a regular baked potato. Somehow they have regular ones but not loaded? So weird can't they just "load" a baked potato? Anyway so my moms steak was raw also. Just bright red. She couldn't even cut it. So they take it back to cook and manager comes out and she says it's still raw - and he's like "hmm ok well I don't know". You don't know? Ok well maybe you should know. Hubs also got tri tips - raw. We got our food very fast so now we know why since they seem to of forgot to cook the meat. So we are the ribs they were alright, definitely had better. This is based on a Togo order. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich, no pickle no ranch. The sticker on the box said no pickle, no ranch. The sandwich had both! The fries they put in a fry container and then in a plastic bag that was tied shut. Of course this traps all of the moisture and made the fries extremely soggy. I judge every sports bar by its burger. Bjs earned its place at the bottom of the heap. I had a bacon avocado burger and it should had been named the lime juicebuger. I understand they add the citrus so the avocado doesn't turn brown in 4 hours while they leave it out, but the amount of lime was overpowering. It was a chilly day and my friend and I were in the mood for soup! I ordered the clam chowder in the bread bowl and my friend ordered the chili in the bread bowl. She enjoyed hers and I enjoyed mine too! We both thought the bread bowl was the best we've ever had. It was perfectly crispy and soft. The top piece is seasoned to be like garlic bread!
