We ordered apps and house red wine because we weren't exactly in the mood for lunch or dinner. We ordered the Crispy Fried Calamari, Beef Roti Massaman Curry, Classic Chicken Curry Puff & a Spicy Crispy Duck Salad. Everything was really good! I especially enjoyed the Beef Roti Massaman Curry & Calamari. The Massaman Curry was so flavorful and tender. It went above & beyond my expectations because I didn't think I'd like it. Boy, was I wrong!! Anyone who knows me knows that if there's Calamari on a menu I Just Have To Have It!! The Calamari was DELISH! The batter they dipped the squid in was amazing. Not too much but the perfect balance for fresh cut squid! The Spicy Crispy Duck Salad was different but really good. So many different flavors from citrusy to sweet to a hint of spicy. Yum yum. Ordered take-out from here and it did not disappoint! From the outside, BKNY looks like a really small restaurant but once you enter, you realize that it's a large venue. I really like the layout of the restaurant; there's a circular bar area in the center with individual dining tables at the edges. The dim lighting and cool ambience makes it a great place for a date! Service was pretty good. Chicken curry puffs- This seemed to be a popular appetizer so obviously I had to try it out lmao. It was ok. Like others have stated, it tastes similar to a samosa and the flavor was definitely authentic. I would've preferred the crust to be crispier instead oily/soft though. The sour sauce that came with it was great. Chicken pad thai- Pretty good but didn't wow me (or maybe my expectations for pad thai are too high lol...) Again, the flavor is spot on and the noodles tasted very authentic. It's a little on the dry side though. Overall, BKNY is a pretty solid Thai restaurant in the area. It's way better than Thai Taste on Union Turnpike. Maybe it was because I had really high expectations for this place that it only ended up getting 3 stars. BKNY really knows how to make a statement with their restaurant decors! It is absolutely beautiful in the inside! I was first bought here by a friend of mine a few summers ago. I have returned occasionally for a birthday celebration and several dinner dates. My attention was immediately captured by the golden statue in the middle of the restaurant and it really makes you feel like - you have just arrived in Thailand. I ordered a few appetizers including Spring Rolls, Calamari, etc. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea (duh!) to try. As for entree, I ordered the Pad See Ew with Beef. The appetizers are mediocre... it doesn't taste any different from any Spring Rolls, I am used to having. The Calamari was okay... the dish I had particular was full of fried flour and the squid was very tiny. The Pad See Ew was just right! It was still steamy hot and the noodle sizes are perfect. The beef was not overcooked. It was completely cooked but it was still tender and easy to chew. The food was pretty decent. I would like to praise them for consistency. All of the times I have been here, the food was served hot and flavorful. I can taste the combination of spices such as curry and hot pepper powder. The aroma of the dishes just makes me very eager to eat more! It has a romantic ambiance for it is dark and has a dreamy feel, perfect for dates! Overall, it is a very decent place for Thai food. First time here, the restaurant atmosphere is what brought me in. The outside can be fooling because it honestly looks like a take out eatery. Once you walk inside it looks like an upscale restaurant. So don't be fooled when you pull up outside, you're not overdressed lol. I can say that the servers and all staff was very nice. They are attentive on the contrary it is a rainy Tuesday evening so there was no rush. The cuisine to me wasn't the greatest which is why I only gave it 3 stars. The food just doesn't match the atmosphere. It's honestly mediocre. You have some Thai restaurants that are chains (e.g. Spice) that tastes great! No matter the location. I enjoyed my food and so did my group but we all agreed it was just satiating; to satisfy the hunger. It's not a "must-come-back" experience. Any waitress/or that sees you're in need of something is more than ready to help. Food came quick for 4 entrees. For dinner: Chicken Satay(to start).: 4 pieces. Decent size. Came with 2 side sauces. The vinegar had nice flavor without being over acidic and the peanut had a nice kick to it. Pad Pak- (Broccoli, boo Choy, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper (green), mushrooms and string beans. Served with Jasmine rice. ) The broth was good but otherwise pretty bland. I would definitely try a curry dish next time. On the way into the restaurant, I passed by two White women, and one said to the other, "You know a restaurant is good when you see a bunch of Asians eating in it." She's damn right! Thai Iced Tea- milky, just the right amount of sweet, delicious! Curry Puff- freshly made, spectacular dipping sauce, could have been a bit crunchier. Spicy crispy duck salad- The duck is amazing! So crispy and well seasoned. Tom Yum Goong Soup- A bit too spicy, you only get 2 pieces of shrimp, which is a bit lacking for the price you're paying. However, the spicy and sour flavor is right! Crab cake- stuffed with loads of crab meat! However, I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. I feel like the mayo sauce didn't really go well with the crab cake. Mussels- fantastic! Went here for a date night with my boyfriend. I love Thai fried rice and I am always excited to experience a new Thai spot. Upon entering it was very lively and crowded. We were seated within 5 mins. My boyfriend ordered our drinks which were very good (can't remember the names). For appetizers, we ordered calamari and spring rolls. The calamari was very tough to chew and was the worst calamari I've ever had. The spring rolls tasted like they weren't fresh. Two tasted like they were still frozen inside. I ordered the Pineapple Thai fried rice and my boyfriend ordered the drunken noodles. We both ordered shrimp with our meals. We both felt our entrees were just okay. The service was fine. Staff is so friendly! They really care of their customers. The best part is the food is so flavorful and great! I recommend pad kee Mao and chicken curry puffs. Start with their chicken curry puff! So soft and flakey on the outside! Inside was just a flavor bomb of chicken curry with potatoes in it. The pad kee Mao is so chewy, soft and flavorful! With a little bit of spice, it's just perfect! I wish they delivered but I guess there is a reason to all of that. Definitely dining in is the best experience. This restaurant doesn't look too authentic from the outside. It looks more like a gym to me. But I'm glad I gave it a try. The food was delicious. The entire space inside is huge. Decor could be more cozy but it's not the most important thing. I got pad see ew (wide flat rice noodle sautéed with egg in sweet soy sauce) with shrimp and my husband got red curry with chicken. The entrees are not cheap, about $16 each. Both came super delicious and right on point. The shrimp in mine isn't those frozen ones. They are so fresh. Red curry is so good. We've ordered food from this restaurant twice and dined at the restaurant once. The restaurant is quite interesting. From the outside, it looks like an abandoned storefront. Seriously. Almost looks like a decrepit warehouse from the outside with boarded up windows. But when you walk in, the decor is almost modernish upscale cocktail bar. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. However, when we were there, we were horribly ignored. Nobody came to our table to ask if the food was OK (it wasn't, read on). Nobody came to refill our water. I had to grab a waitress to even place the order. It was dismal. I had to get up from the table to ask for every little thing. The staff explained there was a birthday party at a (small) table at the time, which doesn't quite explain why we were ignored, but ... whatever! However, to BKNY's credit, once I got up and got someone's attention, the were gracious and helpful. Tom Ka Gai: C+ Asked for medium spicy, and it was too spicy. Still, I'm OK with spicy as long as the food is good, and sadly, this soup was not good. This soup should have strong flavors of galangal and kaffir lime leaf; it should have an almost lemony-soapy quality to it along with nam pla fish sauce. It had none of that. And what brings it down to a C+ is the additon of button mushrooms. WTF? Button mushrooms in tom ka gai? *shudder* Chicken Curry Puff: C I guess they were OK, but unfortunately they were served to us still half-frozen. The centers were icy. Sent them back. Red Curry: B- Good, but was not Thai red curry. It was missing Thai flavors. Pad Thai: B- As with the red curry, it was completely devoid of Thai flavors. When I can score authentic ingredients (not easy in Queens) my Pad Thai is a *thousand* times better. The pad thai was also very dry. Pretty much par for the course for Thai food in NYC. Get a pad thai in Asia or California, and you'll have a much different experience. read more

As expected, the place was packed and we had to wait. For whatever reason they took like 5 groups who came after us and I tried to be patient and not complain but it's just too much a wait. When I told her she didn't even apologized. Not even. Anyways, we got sat eventually. Ordered duck roll for an appetizer which i thought Waac a cucumber and carrot roll. Can barely taste nor see duck slices. Moving on, we got Tom yum noodle and baby back ribs for entree. The Tom yum was ok, nothing really authentic about it but at least it taste ok. The ribs? Omg!!! It was served cold and was so dry and hard. The bf was wondering why I'm not eating then told him to try it. He was so disappointed that its not really edible. Not sure what happened there. Maybe cuz it's aa busy night so they cut corners? Anyways, when we complained they ask if we want to order something else or just cancel the order. Tonight my husband and I ordered shrimp pineapple fried rice, beef pad thai (without bean sprouts), and beef pad see yew with chinese broccoli. As our appetizers we ordered beef short rib as well as Thai spring rolls (not pictured because i was so hungry and ate it as soon as it came and realized when there was only 2 left lol). Have been coming here for years. Have dined in several times and have taken out countless other times. Food has always been fresh and tasty and served in decent portions. Even their lunch specials are large enough for two people to share. Prices are fair and food always prepared within a reasonable amount of time. It helps that it's only 10 minutes from my house but I would frequent here even if it were farther. Menu also has plenty of dishes to choose from, including all the usual favorites. Takeout orders are well packaged in sturdy bags and containers inside are stacked well and with cardboard pieces between the containers. There is street parking right out front plus a parking lot in the back. Restaurant is accessible from the front and back, too. I have seen several large parties and functions accommodated inside so give them a try if you need a place to hold your next gathering. read more

The fried calamari was also good - the sauce and batter was nice, but the squid was a little thin. The pad thai was okay, I really wish they added scallions or something green to make the dish have more color. I also tried a little bit of the massaman curry - it had a great aroma and taste. If I came here next time, I would reorder the Tom yum soup and massaman curry. The ambiance and service was great, the food came out fast. This is probably one of the best Thai places I've gone to in the immediate area. The interior is much larger than it appears from the outside. The decor is also quite modern and seating is very family-style. My friend and I had a late(ish) dinner here and we were seated immediately. We split one soup and each ordered a curry dish. - Kaeng Jud Woon Sen: We opted for the smaller size soup because the large serves four. The portion was definitely too large for each of us individually, but was good as a lite appetizer. - Massaman Curry: The waitress asked what spice level we would like. I found this to be a very pleasant surprise because I thought each curry dish had a pre-set spice level (based on the asterisks on the menu). I ordered mine mild with chicken. There was a good amount of coconut milk in the curry that it wasn't overwhelming, but you could still taste the flavor. I was glad that the peanut flavor was very light. BKNY has always been a go-to (before pandemic) and they are always consistent in quality and service. They recently renovated an outdoor seating area. I came to eat with two people on Thurs Jan 28, and, of course, left with very satisfied tummies. The outdoor area is very spacious and the tables are pretty far apart from each other. I've eaten here a number of times and they never let me down I terms of taste, quality and quantity. I just ordered from here on January 1, 2018 and took the food to go. I love that the food was still piping hot by time I got home and tasted as good as what I'd would've gotten if I had dined in. I love the manager he is super friendly and personable. He always remembers me and my husband when we come in. The staff is equally as friendly. The restaurant is spacious and I've never come here to see it empty. Restaurant is a Thai gem in bayside! Food is always fresh and staff is very nice and accommodating. One of the most authentic Thai restaurants in Queens and trust me, there is no shortage of Thai restaurants in Queens. BKNY is family run and you can taste the love poured into the food. I personally recommend the eggplant sizzling spice and spicy string bean. I'm not a vegetarian but my favorite dishes happen to be the vegetables here. I've tried their curry puff and fried calamari as well as other appetizers and they are solid all around.
