We hadn't been to Black Angus in AGES...now I remember why. To start, the hostess was annoying. Asked us three times if we had a reservation. It was late lunchtime on a Saturday, there was NO ONE waiting, the restaurant was quiet and pretty empty. 1. No 2. No 3. still no, we don't have one and it doesn't look like we need one. She still kept us waiting to be seated which was weird because there were plenty of clean, empty tables. Not a big deal, just annoying. We ordered the rib eye steak sandwich and double chicken breast lunches. The green salads were great at least. Our lunches came and the presentation was very poor, for $20 a plate a little garnish can go a long way. The steak sandwich was ok, just nothing stand out or special. My double chicken breast lunch was inedible. Overcooked and dry, dry, dry, which I could still have made due with if it had had ANY flavor at all. My broccoli was over steamed and mushy. I took a bite of the first breast, --dreadful, thought maybe the 2nd one might be a little better, no. I would have sent it back, but I don't like to do that, plus I didn't really want anything else at that point. I might have asked to have it taken it off the bill, but our server who had been great up till then, really friendly and attentive, never came back to check on us until my husband had finished his meal. We had somewhere to be and I didn't want to bother by that point. Plus, honestly she took a look at my plate--with two chicken breasts with one bite taken out of each still on it and instead of asking if something was wrong (obviously), asked if I was done and if she could take my plate. My husband and I frequent this restaurant whether it be a celebration, birthday, or just because! I decided to take my husband here last night for his birthday And we were so disappointed. We were seated immediately as it wasn't busy, and never received any type of greeting, table touch or interaction whatsoever from our waitress who had no more than a couple tables surrounding ours. I saw her name on the hostess card on our table to see if it was someone we had before, and I didn't recognize the name. Overall Black Angus is a good dinner place. It is a relaxed atmosphere but still a nice ambience if you want a more upscale dining experience. I have two gripes. First, I have had the tri tip like 3 times now and have been disappointed every time. I should know better because realistically you can't cook tri tip very fast or it gets tough. Second, they had a special where you get a free lobster tail with any steak purchase. I get this is a coupon offer, but there were barely 4 bites to my lobster tail. If I would have realized that I would not have bothered and maybe paid a little more for something else. Positive side, the waitstaff are always top notch and are the biggest reason we return to Black Angus. I will also say that, even with the premium price tag, I usually enjoy everything here. We had higher expectations when we decided to have dinner at this location. I had the steak soup and it was a bit salty. To her credit, our server Ashley, who was very good and upbeat, promptly offered to replace this appy with another on the menu. I appreciated the option. My wife ordered a loaded potato soup, and it was lukewarm. She also asked her steak be cooked medium. But it came out closer to medium well. My green beans were a bit chewy, not crisp. I really enjoyed coming here to Black Angus, was our first time here and the bread tasted alright but a tad messy. The strawberry lemonade was very good and in a big glass as well so it lasted through out the dinner but it was one of the best lemonades I ever had. And the steakhouse bacon cheeseburger was very good and I do love burgers and this one here was nice and juicy and tasty and if we ever go back I'd love to order another lemonade and try something else off their menu so if you've never been stop and check it out. read more

We came in at 7:30... seemed like an ordeal to serve us this 'late.' No silver/napkins on table. No offer to take drink order... just our dinner order, then asked for drink order. Got our salads, had to ask for napkins... brought us paper ones. Had to ask for bread. It was burnt and dry. My NY strip was overcooked and extremely fatty with a gristle strip running lengthwise. Patrick, the manager asked me what I wanted him to do to make me happy. I said it's not my place to tell you how to make it better. Took my mom here for mother's day. We had reservations for 2om, got there early but they had our table ready and we were seated right away. Our server, Ashleigh, was friendly, attentive, right on top of things. She was above and beyond what I consider a great server. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! We had the absolute worst experience. My wife and I showed up with our two children who are clearly older then ten years old. Besides rude customer service, My wife asked for an alcoholic beverage, as expected our waitress asked for her ID, she complied an handed over her ID. All the info was on the ID. There is a sticker for changed addresses that was rubbing off, the waitress said she had to ask her supervisor due to the address sticker being slightly rubbed off. The Manager came out and said due to pertinent information missing he couldn't serve her. My wife pointed out, that her name day of birth and everything that mattered was on the ID, The manager basically shunned her and just walked away like a total dick. Yea my wife clearly had her kids when she was 10 years old genius. 1st time dining at a Black Angus. We were a bit concerned with the lack of a crowd at 6 pm. We immediately noticed that the floor was filthy. It looked like it had hit been swept all day. We were seated quickly and our beverage order was taken. My husband asked for sweet n low with his iced tea when ordering. The drinks arrived but no sweet n low. My husband politely asked for the sweet n low again. The waitress apologized and stated that he recalled that he had asked for it and she would bring it right away. The waitress returned shortly with bread and our salads but still no sweet n low. Our steaks were brought out by a different waitress. They were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My husband enjoyed his garlic sautéed broccoli. My baked potato was barely warm and not warm enough to melt the butter. We asked the second waitress for sweet and low which she promptly delivered. As we are eating, we could see both of our waitresses and a third server standing around talking for at least 15 minutes. Another customer eventually got up from his table to request something. I needed a refill on my tea but could not get anyone's attention. After a good ten minutes of hoping for someone to glance our way, my husband quietly got up and refilled my tea from a pitcher sitting at the wait station behind us. This did get the initial waitress' attention and she exclaimed "oh no!" She swiftly came over and indicated she would bring me a fresh tea which she did. When she arrived with my fresh glass of tea, she realized my husband was also drinking tea and went went to get him a fresh glass. The poor service makes this our first and last visit to Black Angus. This is a shame because the steak was enjoyable. We understand that wait staff is stretched thi these days. However to have to ask for something 3x and refill our own drinks at a full service restaurant while the wait staff socializes for a good 15 minutes, is inexcusable. We always tip in excess of 20%. Tonight we tipped only 15% because the service was so poor. read more

My first horrible experience at Black Angus.I have been going here for at least 15 years. We went to dinner for my birthday with my Mother and law and both of my kids. We received an email as we are enrolled in there app to come in and enjoy a special coupon for a dine in or "dine out " .. we showed the waitress and she talked to the manager who apparently didn't want to waste his time to come and look at the corporate email for that establishment... and just assumed it was for the bar area only.. but obviously " dine in" or "dine out" with nothing about bar area required on the section about the special was anywhere in that paragraph . anyways last time I will be in 230$ later. We haven't been there for several years, but they had a 30% off coupon good for the first 4 days of July, so we went for dinner. The dinner was very disappointing. We ordered the special with stuffed shrimp and steak; my wife didn't like the seasoning on the stuffed shrimp, and I agreed with her. We both ordered fillet mignon cooked medium (supposed to be warm and pink inside)... they both came out rare, but we ate them anyway. The sides I ordered were roasted Brussels sprouts with brown butter and grilled asparagus. The sprouts were supposed cooked in brown butter, but I didn't recognize what they were cooked in. The asparagus tops (top 3 inches of a total length of 6-8 inches) were the only editable part of the veggie (the bottoms were like tough and stringy). Clearly the chef didn't look at them before plating them! Needless to say, we did not enjoy our dinner and will not be back! So many better places west of Spokane Valley. read more

So for a Birthday dinner I did not get to eat. Here's the story. I ordered the 1.5# cowboy cut med well. What I got was very rare. I sent it back thinking they would give a properly cooked steak. What I got was my previous steak I had cut into returned to me overcooked and dried out as all the juice ran out of the place I cut the steak from, before I sent it back. By this time my family was pretty much done eating, and I was pissed with the food, to top it off the server was horrid as she only came to my table once during the meal. So friendly staff, great service. We went for their Bourbon Special, 3 bourbon drinks, appetizer, dinner & dessert. So a set menu. They had door prizes, really a fun evening. I only gave it 4 stars, cause I was not a fan of my steak, it came too rare for me, they didn't give you an option on how you wanted it cooked. She checked on me frequently to make sure I was completely satisfied. And the food was excellent and the price was right. I had a 6-oz sirloin steak cooked perfectly with lobster tail, garlic mashed, and five breaded jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce. It was served hot and tasted excellent! A great meal for $20. A while back, my buddy and I stopped at this Black Angus for dinner on our cross country road trip back to the east coast. This restaurant near the mall was a few miles from our hotel, but I insisted on coming here not because of the steaks, but for the SKY HIGH MUD PIE! I really enjoyed this dessert a few years ago while I was in Cali. The place was pretty quiet on a Sunday evening. We both started out Caesar salads, which were pretty good. My buddy had the Grilled Chicken with rice pilaf and grilled vegetables and I went had the NY Strip Steak with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. They charged extra for grilled mushrooms with the steak. Both dinners were pretty decent. For dessert, I had the SKY HIGH MUD PIE which was sooo good & very rich & dense. This SKY HIGH MUD PIE went well with hot coffee. Overall, a decent meal and a great dessert! read more
