We enjoyed our first Black Angus dining experience in many months! It was very hot in Temecula today, so we appreciated the big tent set up to provide shade for the outdoor dining tables. Large glasses of ice water were also just what we needed! Our steaks, ribs, and lobster were great. Reservations are required, although it wasn't crowded during our visit. If I could give this place 10 stars I absolutely would. This was some of the most amazing food I've ever had. The steak was excellent, the broccoli was to die for and my husband even shed a tear while eating all of his food. The mashed potatoes took me out and brought me back to life. ("Erin," the manager was actually the worst; Snide and argumentative) -Messed up our orders, missing place settings, empty sugar packets -Bartender failed to greet and actually avoided eye contact with us, and had as much personality as a goldfish -Sat us an hour late, despite our reservation....the hostesses giggled and played on their phones, while we sat patiently and wondered what was taking so long. Joined their e-club and got a BOGO coupon. The molasses bread is great to munch on while waiting for your main course to arrive. My wife got the crispy shrimp and I chose the prime rib. The shrimp was indeed crispy and has 2 dipping sauces. Traditional cocktail and a mayo based spicy (mild) dip. What I liked about their shrimp is that it's whole and not butterflied. It just taste better with that full bite of shrimp vs a paper thin breaded crust. My prime rib was served as ordered, med-rare. Tender with good beefy flavor. Yes, I'd order this again and definitely will get the thicker cut. Our server (Stephanie) was on the ball. She remembered it was my birthday month and brought me a freshly made chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Wow! Great dessert to finish our meal. I have no reservations about this being a corporate chain -which I usually avoid- but, I do make exceptions. Look for their specials that go hand in hand with entrees. I like this place. It's a steak place so of course they're gonna be a little on the pricey side, but I feel like it's the service that isn't like what it is at competitive or similar steak houses. I'm not too picky or anything, but I truly enjoy a restaurant with a cool or funny server when I go out with my best friend. The food was good, not great, for the price. I could have bought nice steaks at the grocery store and had the same quality meal for much cheaper than $82 for two. My hubby and I commented that we never come here, and now we know why. I had the steak soup as one of my sides, and it tasted like a can of Campbell's. The green beans were ok. Steak was tender, but needed steak sauce. All of the beer taps broke the day before, but they never bothered to get them fixed before the weekend...? Kinda expensive for the quantity, quality, service and ambiance. Suprising that Claim Jumper went out of business in Temecula before this place. They need to step up their game now that Old Town has some great restaurants. My family and I came in tonight with no reservation and upon our arrival we noticed it was packed, the hostess Donna gave us a 30 min wait time but we ended up only having to wait for 10! We went to Black Angus to celebrate a special occasion and had Kaiya wait on us and she was the best server ever! She was so sweet, upbeat and very attentive. I never feel the need to leave a review on a restaurant but we ordered the ribs and they came out on a hot plate but were ice old in the middle we asked if we could get a new plate but they offered to throw the ribs back on the grill instead. We're pretty sure they just threw them in the microwave though because the fries came back soggy and plate came out hotter than the ribs, again. My problem is this, I ordered a Prime Rib dinner and Red mashed potatoes for the side sounds good right. Well it was brought to the table and it looked good until I noticed alot of fat. It was about 70%fat and 30% meat not good. I asked my server for a replacement and she told me that it would take about 15 minutes. I got the 12 ounce ribeye ($30) and ordered it cooked medium. It was brought to me rare. My wife ordered a salad with steak slices on top, cooked well done. It was brought to her medium (it was visibly pink in the middle). Our waiter either missed that fact that it wasn't cooked correctly, or he didn't care. I'm not super picky myself, and I don't like to be a pain, as I used to be a waiter as well, so I ate my steak without sending it back. But I did ask to send back the steak slices that topped my wife's salad, and have it cooked properly, which they did. My wife also asked for water with no ice, which he forgot and had to be asked for again. He then brought it back, but with ice. No big deal...I just removed the ice myself. But combined with bringing food that was visibly not cooked correctly to my wife, I was not satisfied with the quality of the service. And it didn't appear to be overly busy, so I don't know what the deal was. Overall, after having spent $90 for two (with one drink each), I was extremely underwhelmed by both the food and the service. I've eaten classic American food here before (burgers, etc.), with no complaint, so it may have been a one-off thing. But I will definitely not be ordering the steak here again (if I come again, that is). read more

Due to Covid, we had to sit outside. The type of music was not conducive to dining and the volume was way too loud. We ordered the lobster and steak. The presentation of the lobster looked inedible and unappetizing! The salad had no croutons, no carrots, no cheese, no olives, and 1 lousy tomato. Very cheaply done. We had to hunt him down to even voice concerns about the undercooked meat. Oh boy. Well look, don't be a tool and go to a chain restaurant outpost in a place like Temecula. That said, Bruce was hankering for steak or prime rib. Oh how I wish ... Hey look, honey, I said, Black Angus - I thought they all closed. I told him it was similar to the one he wanted to go to on the way home, Hunter Steakhouse in Oceanside. This is based on my memories of 20 years ago. No - it isn't. Hunter Steakhouse is Michelin star gourmet in comparison. We had "the Gordon Ramsey experience" at the Black Angus in Temecula. If a place can't do prime rib right ... I seriously think it was bag-o prime rib, like it must come in a big plastic microwave bag and they slice out smaller portions for the Chuck Wagon "feast." I don't usually eat appetizers but the dinner for two came with an option of the Wagon Wheel plate. The fried items are from a decent pre frozen vendor but the non fried items ... well the 4 shrimp cocktail was good. I got Caesar salad which again, I ordinarily don't get, and would definitely put it in the bottom rung of salad preparation - I don't serve bag salad, bag croutons, bottled dressing and pre-shredded cheese at home. There were only a few couples in the place and it's right by the movie theater so what's the excuse? Basically the whole meal was pre-prepared and just reheated or stuck on a plate. And, it all came at the same time! I guess so we could have our chuck wagon experience all at once. I know this is a chain and obviously they did not go out of business, because there were marketer designed menus, coordinated appetizer, dessert and wine / cocktail cards. They should spend their money on food, training and cooks. It can't cost more to serve fresh food but it probably does cost more to hire cooks instead of people who dump bag food on plates. The Black Angus we had long ago was called Stuart Anderson's Black Angus. In a moment of drunken levity, a long ago friend dubbed it "Stuart Anderson's Black A**h*le." You can look at my other reviews to see I'm not the one to give a poor review for no reason. This joint is exactly like any episode of Kitchen Nightmares where Gordon Ramsey spits out his food and goes in and yells at the owners. Me and my husband visited this Black Angus for a date night. The food was delicious. I had a medium well steak, baked potato, and vegetables. My husband had a medium rare steak and a salad and we both shared an artichoke dip appetizer. The appetizer was not exactly what we were looking for flavor wise but the rest of the meal was cooked to perfection. The pricing is a little on the high side....but reasonable for steak dinners. We had dinner there last night and it was very disappointing! We had the campfire special for two and the food was like it had been laying around for a while. Bread was hard, salad was limp and old, baked potato was old and warmed up and the chocolate cake was stale. We had not been there for a few months, but I don't t think we will be returning soon. Had a terrific experience last night at Black Angus Temecula. The service was great, and the food was wonderful. We tried the Campfire Feast for Two. Hubby had Filet Mignon, and I had the Rack of Ribs. He said his steak was perfect, and I've never had better ribs...meaty and big. Needless to say, we'll be having a second great meal at home today from the left-overs. Also, if you like Bloody Marys, theirs are perfect for me...not real spicy and not from a mix. Went to Black Angus on Father's Day. Had reservations for 11:45 am. Hardly anyone in the place, which is not a good sign, but it was early and they normally open at noon. Started out good, but the meal we ordered took forever to get there. We ordered New York steaks, but it came out over cooked, and this was an hour into our visit. Sent back and they came back under cooked, so easy fix. Third time is the charm. Steaks were now cooked correctly, but the quality, flavor and texture was poor. Veins running throughout. Manager apologized and gave us a free desert plus a 15% discount. But we didn't get out of there until 1:45 - 2 hours. I had to go find the waitress to get the bill - she was just chatting with the other waitresses, not a care in the world. Kitchen ran poorly from what I could see. We were one of the first guests to order but did not receive food until after others were served. May have been waitress, but who knows. Quality was poor. While there was a good effort to recover by the manager, it isn't going to bring me back. Has gone downhill since the old days of reasonably priced food that tasted good. read more
