This was the absolute worst location ever! Let's start with service getting our order taken was okay, but they had to make horseradish sauce and took a long time to make it. We started to ask about the cornbread he stated yeah the horseradish is coming. We had to say no the cornbread as he walked away. Oh and the cornbread muffin was cold. He brought drinks after only finishing maybe a quarter of it, so the sodas sat there getting watered down. The I'm assuming busboy looked like and acted like a retired gangbanger was less than professional he sounded like a 2 year old complaining about not getting to go outside! He was saying oh were not going home until 8 this place is dirty, and he went to the other side and was still complaining about going home at 8, but they closed at 9 so not sure why he was throwing a temper tantrum. He went on a rant for about 6 minutes. Them he and a sort of manly looking waitress were arguing about where was the tip. She was complaining it was a $400 and no tip. The busboy said I put the tip in your pocket. So they went back and forth at the table. They argued for a few minutes. I heard the busboy wants to bring his vacuum from home, because your little push broom like vacuum doesn't work. Let's get into our food I've eaten better at a cheap hole in the wall! Let's start with the $34.95 Prime Rib. I asked for Medium rare, but got a well done. The odd thing is I was told it was the end of the night they didn't have anymore we were there at 5:21pm. He asked if I wanted something else I said it's a little pink in the middle, but I should have because it was the toughest Prime Rib ever. Green beans were so bland and bacon I almost choked on. When were the made a week ago? My fiance had the Turkey dinner, and he had stuffing left on his plate. I love stuffing, but I spit it out. The desert was more moist I almost broke a tooth. Pumpkin pie tasted gritty, mealy, and tasted really nasty. The waiter said there was cumin, but I think he meant cinnamon because it had so much I gagged. He asked if we wanted more pieces I said OH NO WERE THROUGH! He offered a discount, but it wasn't worth $5.00. Thanks, but $70 + and a $10 dollar tip was just outrageous. Colton is just as bad I guess we'll try Moreno Valley maybe. Black Bear isn't what it was, but you can at least get food and an unprofessional show. I wish we could've given - stars. We had the steak and eggs special Thursday morning. Unfortunately my steak tasted old and was tough to eat. My buddy ate it and told me it was ok. So that's fine. The hash brown potatoes were good. The fried eggs were fried eggs. I got a side of gravy and that was good. I got a humongous biscuit I didn't care for either. The reason for 3 stars is because I've had much better here. Maybe just an off day for everyone involved. Service was good. We were the only customers when we came in around 7:30. Always clean restaurant. Restrooms are clean. This place does give military discounts unlike the Colton restaurant. I'll probably be back but no more steak and eggs for me. read more

The food that I ordered that day was ordered through an app. Nothing about what I received after spending a lot of money was correct. Maybe they were too busy to get it right, but I will say that going to the restaurant and dining in is a much better experience. I ordered the Grizz at the time. The pancakes are awesome, but when my order arrived there was no syrup and my bacon was missing. I was staying at the Residence Inn waiting for repairs on my house to be completed. But I still like the restaurant but only if I go there in person. read more

My family and I arrived at the restaurant around 6:50 and there was only one waiter with a bad service attitude, maybe because we are Asian? Because he was nice to other guests. We finished ordering at 7:00. After waiting for 20 minutes, I saw that he started to place our order on the computer. The customers who came into the restaurant later than us had already received their meals. Meals are delivered to other guests' tables and brought back to me. We dined at Black Bear Diner yesterday on a Friday afternoon around 4pm and it was a great time to go as it is not crowded then. We went to celebrate my nephew's Birthday. Our server Bri was amazing! She was so attentive with a great personality! She was great in answering our questions and gave personal recommendations. We all liked her very much, our 8 year old son said later that she is very nice and can tell she is a great auntie (Bri is super friendly and told us about her family) :) The restaurant has very fun woody family atmosphere and it was neat to see the pictures everywhere on the menu and walls. The food is great! We had burgers that were HUGE and so tasty. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were super yummy too. We were in a bit of a time crunch which Bri was so nice about and gathered staff to come sing Happy Birthday and brought out a complimentary ice cream treat for my nephew! The song was cute and she recommended the Huckleberry flavor which was so good! Bri even came out to take a picture with us by the bears! As we took our first bite, we looked at each other and asked "why haven't we been here?". We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, the Bear's Choice and a side of Biscuits and Gravy. The Huevos Rancheros were aesthetically pleasing. Very vivid colors. The tortilla was crispy, topped with green salsa, a sunny side up egg, chorizo, sour cream, cilantro and grape tomatoes. It all blended so well. The green salsa was a bit on the spicy side. The hashbrowns on the plate were seasoned well. The Bear's Choice I ordered was french toast, two sausage links and two sunny side up eggs. The french toast was covered in powdered sugar and came with a side of maple syrup. In one bite you get a great in between texture, not too dry not too soggy following with a powdered sugar-cinnamon bite. Perfect french toast. The biscuits and gravy: tasted average in my opinion, but nice thick and creamy sauce. I think that what may have impacted my opinion on this was that it was served too cold for my preference. I may give it a second chance in the future. Overall, great spot! I cannot wait to return and try more of their items, or not... I may stick with the French Toast and Huevos Rancheros! read more

The food is great and the servers are nice BUT the wait time for food is too long. At some point all the servers disappeared and only one server was on the floor. This is the third time this has happened. Different days, different times of the day. We waited 40 mins for our food to discover my plate was wrong. I had to wait another ten minutes for it. Without us saying anything or complaining our waitress apologized and stated that she took our drinks off the bill. She stated they were running with only three cooks. Slow day during the week. They only had one server but she worked hard to provide good service. We had the fish meal and French toast. The fish meal was tasty and cooked well. The coating was light and fluffy and not greasy. The French toast was ok but the syrup was thin. A lot of items on the menu to choose from, quite overwhelming. The concept of Black Bear is cool. The menus are printed like newspaper which is different from other restaurants. They serve breakfast here all day, along with lunch and dinner entrees. The popular items seem to be breakfast, and the hamburgers. The portions here are large. As far as quality and freshness, everything was good. They seem to care about the quality of food served here. The prices are comparable to our local diners. The staff at this location was welcoming and friendly. read more
