    Dubai chocolate cake

Popped in here for a quick meeting with a friend on a week night. The place was busy but not over crowded. They smoke their old fashioneds which was a really nice touch and the Dubai chocolate inspired dessert was divine.

Gastropub in downtown Bellevue. Pretty big space, cream colored interior. Was actually fairly busy for dinner in midweek. They have a selection of adult beverages, and most of the food menu items are meant to be shared. Has a variety of meat, seafood and vegetable dishes. We were a big enough group, so we tried a whole bunch of things from the menu. My favorites were their flatbreads and duck breast. Flatbread was nice and soft on the inside. The duck breast has a nice crispy skin. Also had escargot, which I haven't had in a while, and they were decent. Portions are not big, so you do have to order more dishes to fill up. Overall bill with gratuity was $75 per person, so getting up there in price although not super pricey.

We ordered perfectly and enjoyed everything we ordered. Flatbread with brie, blasted broccoli, shrimp and chicken chorizo, mezzi platter, short ribs, and flan with dark chocolate cake. Service was a bit uneven, but it didn't matter. We weren't in a hurry. Very yummy food, delicious cocktails, and excellent wines by the glass. What not to love?

There is a parking garage, you can park in. The parking will be validated for 2 hours once you get in the restaurant. We had reservations so our table was ready when we arrived and were seated right away. There are high ceilings, candles on tables, lots of natural light and it wasn't loud even with big groups which was nice so you could chat without shouting. The service was good, our waitress took our order but it was served by someone else. There were a couple of times it took a while for drink refills. Once the food started coming out, it came out quickly. I really enjoyed the French fries, the short ribs and the duck wings with the spicy sauce. I can't speak for the desserts other than presentation and they looked yummy. There is varying sizes for the portions so it is a little hard to know how much to order. I think the dressing for the salads were bland. There wasn't a lot of flavor to the pork tacos.

Great place to get bar bites. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. We got the pork belly and a flatbread, which was perfect for two people. The star of the show was a pork belly, amazing flavors, and the pork belly was cooked perfectly as well. The flatbread was pretty good too. Overall, I highly recommend and would come back.

Black Bottle used to be one of my favorite restaurants that I would frequently visit since I just live a minute away. But as time went on, the quality of the food diminished. The flatbreads are still tasty but literally everything else is just so mediocre -- and not to mention, always, always lukewarm or cool. It's really as if they precook the dishes (I'm sure they know what the popular dishes are) and precook them ahead of time or leave it on the line which might make sense since 90% of the dishes came out cold. My table of 4 all commented on how quickly the food came out once we ordered - it wasn't even a 10 min wait -- we ordered 5 dishes. The broccolis were half the size it used to be and they came out cool. Not cold, at least. But cool. We got the pork tacos and fish tacos and both proteins were not hot either. We ordered the ravioli and that came out semi hot -- the sauce was hot but the inside of the ravioli was cool AND hard. Just odd technique or lazy cooking. And it's becoming more and more dissatisfying. At one point I did wonder if we'd get sick from the food if it was just sitting out there precooked and cooling. It's becoming harder to justify coming here anymore, which is sad bc the food used to be really solid and I love the environment. I shouldn't have to say this but the food needs to be made to order.

Black Bottle is located in the heart of Bellevue Downtown and has a great ambience. It's a perfect place for a friend or to meet someone. They have great vegetarian options as well, which was a big plus for me. I've been here twice and the food and service has been great on both occasions. I've tried the Crispy Cauliflower with the Kolkata sauce, fries, pear and gorgonzola and the brie and Leek Flatbreads and the stuffed ravioli. All of it has been great but I'd recommend the ravioli and the pear flatbread! The brie one is probably acquired taste and that was my least favorite. Overall, a great place!

We went to Black Bottle after having not been back for a while. Glad we did. There were a couple new dishes, and a few we recognized. We ordered the cauliflower, tacos, pork belly, and the halloumi. Our favorite was the tacos. They were fresh and delicious! I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was a nice complement to the meal. Service was amazing. They were very attentive and food was nice & hot. We made reservations a few days in advance, but didn't seem like too much of an issue. Parking is located off of 10th and kind of hidden, but there is a sign for Black Bottle parking. There are also instructions on the website. It is free for two hours when validated. We had a great time and will definitely go back!

My order was prosciutto flatbread. The flatbread was moist and it has creamy texture underneath the cheese. I asked for chili pepper flasks, adding little kick. Kelfte Lamb mezze plate with extra side of flatbread. The hummus was creamy, but not as much flavor. The lamb meatballs were okay, it is on the dry side. It is good with tzatziki. My coworker ordered fish taco, it was recommended over pulled pork tacos. The good portion is medium range, if you are hungry you might need to order two dishes. I have a bite of the short ribs. This dish does take longer than other dishes. It was tender, but it was in salty side for me. Our waiter was good. He was friendly and put up with our group. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasant. Drinks were also good. Our hostess was not very friendly. We felt she was rude. She took our menu and left us with two menus for group of people who have not ordered yet. Her attitude did not help. We don't know her name but our dinner was on Saturday 6/1. But don't want to give the restaurant a bad review based on her.

Vegetarian options are too less and taste is bland. But they have good options for cocktails. Service was super quick. Host was sweet. Ambience is great, they have decors and some of their tables are vintage and gives aesthetic look.

Black bottle was a new spot that four other friends and I wanted to try out together. I will be saying that the food itself was between three - four stars. Unfortunately, the interaction with the staff was more so around one to two stars and for that reason, I will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. I will say that the ambience and environment was however a five star in my book! A few constructive critiques that I have, if the staff and managers want to improve upon: -online the menu for happy hour drinks is listed, and if you scroll further down the website, they have something called late night, snacks, and platters -- this to me gives the illusion that these are also "happy hour specials" -most restaurants still let their customers finish up their dinner. However, we noticed that the closing time for this restaurant was 11 PM, as we were seated, finishing up our meal, they began to dim the lights wait a few moments, then raise the lights, and at 11 o'clock sharp somebody from the staff said thank you for joining us everyone please exit essentially... this was unexpected and did not leave us really feeling warmly welcomed. -while the food was pretty good, I was a little bit sad to hear that some of the drinks on their happy hour menu were no longer available because they had run out. I do think it's worth mentioning that our experience with the staff was a little bit mixed, because I do think that the waiter and server Bryce who ended up taking care of our table, did an exceptional job, and was friendly and pleasant to work with.

Pear, gorgonzola, pesto, and caramelized onion flat bread was outstanding! Major Danger in the background also delicious.

Seattle east-siders, tired of always going to Seattle for fun night hangouts? This place will convince your west-side folks to come over. I've been here a couple times: a date and sister night out. Better ambiance for more intimate smaller chit chats and not louder celebrations in my opinion. But they have adequate seating for small and large parties. Do not be fooled if the place is empty. They have 2 happy hours periods. Went at the 9-closing happy hour. Food was great. The best dish was the assorted greens and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the flatbreads. Drinks are not on the sweet side. If you like sweet, club-like drinks- I say use that money on one of their dishes. I'd say go during the darker hours as the ambiance is much better and bonus points if you come during the Christmas/festive season as the decor here is beautiful. Park in the building's parking garage. Black Bottle will validate for 2 hours. (I don't know why people are giving this place bad ratings over paying over $50 parking.) The same parking garage has free 1hr retail parking that doesn't need validation too. This place is also great to go after checking out Bellevue Collections mall- park in the mall parking garage, shop, and visit Black Bottle. Black Bottle is at the block across the street from The Container Store. Very walkable.

Are dogs allowed on the outdoor patio?

    I hope not!

    Is this venue noisy?

We were there on a Fri evening. Modest crowd, no problem with noise. But lots of hard surfaces, so I would guess if it is packed it would be loud, but no worse than most places that are crowded.

Wasn't sure which sauce went best with which, but doesn't hurt to try? shell on shrimp and lobster claw were the second and third bests in my opinion. - Grilled Black-eyed Perch (4/5): got a smaller 1.2 lb fish. Can get it grilled and fried. Fried is ~$4 more. This fish was around 38-39/lb at the time of writing. Flavors were so great! Not a bony fish at all and didn't have to really pick at it. A tad dry in certain parts, but again, nice salty, zesty from the lemon and herbaceous. This place is definitely on the $$$ side, so can see ppl coming here for special occasions.

This was while the place was practically empty, so I'm not sure what else could have been occupying their time. Second, I ordered the pork shoulder stir fry which wasn't bad but had several large pieces of pure fat & gristle in it that I felt a high quality restaurant would have taken out of the dish. It's indicative of lazy & careless food preparation skills. Also, the basmati rice was very under-cooked...some pieces were even crunchy. Lastly, after leaving the place, I realized that I accidentally left my sunglasses there. So I called later that evening to inquire if they had found them. I discovered they route all incoming calls to a bot that instantly made me feel unimportant and unappreciated. What's worse is it tried to connect me with someone in the restaurant, but kept looping back into its own messaging narrative. What an absolute PITA. This enables me to make a broader point: Restaurants have to get it through their heads that cutting costs has negative impact on customer experience, putting the lifeblood of their business into jeopardy. Take the widespread adoption of QR code-based menus during COVID...how many restaurants do you know actually switched back to real menus after COVID passed? The answer is very few. The reason why? They are too stingy to pony up the dough and ignore the benefit to the customer experience. They figure, 'people already know how to do that so why spend the money on printing up menus anymore?". They couldn't care less about what customers might actually enjoy more, and that's the real travesty. If restaurants are going to force their customers into a self-serve model (as so many have nowadays), then why bother tipping anyone? I am so fed up of a world where the idolatry of wealth has surpassed the appreciation and value of real, engaging human experiences. The Central Bar + Restaurant could help reverse this course if they ever decide to they put customer experience first instead of their own profits. UPDATE: Added one star because they actually had my shades...went ot go pick them up today.
