Great coffee--loved the cold brew. Staff is so sweet and friendly. I just didn't really like my bagel. Thought my sesame bagel with butter and lox was just OK. Not so flavorful. And I was really disappointed because wanted to love this place. But at least they have great coffee and great staff.

Quite a fabulous and tasty breakfast sandwich. Bagel was very chewy. Line was absurdly long for good reason. Would have rated higher if not for the long wait and un-synchronized timing of our sandwiches. But that shouldn't deter you from coming. Just plan around it and enjoy a coffee.

All things considered the coffee and bagel were very yummy! It's just that they forgot about my order for about 20 min at a relatively unbusy time. Had I not asked who knows how much longer it would have taken?! The cashier with glasses was super nice and brought us our coffees after we picked a table. There's a decent amount of seating for a bagel store with about 4 small tables. My BEC was yummy and hot ($11) and they say they use vital farm eggs.

Solid bagel spot in the heart of Rockefeller Center. For a location inside 30 Rock, this place is pleasantly above average and a great grab-and-go option. The bagels are fresh, chewy, and well-sized, with a good variety of spreads and classic breakfast combinations. Service is quick, which is much appreciated during the morning rush, and it's convenient whether you're heading to work or sightseeing nearby. Not necessarily a destination bagel shop, but for the location and consistency, it definitely delivers and earns a strong four stars.

Good bagel sandwiches for sure but definitely better to be found in New York! It was busy though so assuming a good neighborhood staple.

a quick stop for breakfast at one of the numerous bagel spots in manhattan. it wasn't overly packed with a decent amount of seating and we received our order pretty quickly. we tried the bacon, egg, & cheese and classic salmon on everything bagels. the bagels were a bit too hard and missing that pillowy, soft interior of the more popular bagel spots. the bec bagel was wonderful, but comparable to a typical deli bagel, definitely not worth the $11! the classic salmon had all the flavors, rich and creamy, but was similarly overpriced. we also had their iced lattes, but it was typical and nothing special.

Egg and cheese was okay but bagel was kind of thin and egg was fried instead of scrambled. Good amount of seating and no line on a Friday morning.

This is my second trip to Black Seed Bagel. I'm from Astoria in NYC and now living in South Florida where good bagels just don't compare to a NYC bagel, PERIOD! This spot has amazing bagels and their Pastrami, Egg and Cheese on a bagel reigns supreme. Plenty of pastrami, the eggs were perfect and the cheese melted in marrying everything together. When I parted the bagel, the freshness hit the air like WOW! The taste was amazing, delicious and very satisfying. We stayed at a hotel about 2 blocks away so getting there was like less than a 10 minute walk. Will I return, definitely I will! Do I recommend this place, yes I do to anyone who wants to try a real NYC bagel.

    PLAIN JANE with tomato

I got the Plain Jane sandwich with tomato on an oat bagel. Bagel was warm, soft yet slightly chewy. The eggs were cooked perfectly with two thick slices of beefsteak tomato. It was a pretty nippy and windy day, so this sandwich paired with a latte hit the spot!

This was just okay.. which sucked because I was looking forward to it actually being great. The bagel was kind of hard, there was so much cream cheese compared to smoked salmon. All in all 6.5/10

Good classic bagel! Staff was very nice. They were busy but the food came out quick! I think I would agree with some of the other reviews that the bagels themselves didn't taste completely fresh, but overall a good experience.

Feb special: Sweet Bolo Char Siu Baogel, Everything Char Siu Baogel
    Ruby C.

To celebrate Lunar New Year, Black Seed Bagels launched a Feb special "baogel" in collab with Potluck Club. Overall, it was an interesting collab. As a self-claimed bagel ambassador I was glad I did try them out. The baogels were not bad but very mid. As usual, their bagels never blew my mind. We would just stick to Chinese bakeries for cheaper price or maybe even better taste. * Everything Baogel The baogel was lighter and puffier than a bagel. They heated up the bao for us so the steam literally rushed out when we pulled the bread. The char siu wasn't what we expected from a char siu bao, and looked totally different from the juicy caramelized brown fillings they showed on their ig. It was more like a regular cooked pork belly bun. I also wish there were more everything seasonings. * Sweet Bolo Baogel It was underwhelming......It tasted nothing like bolo bao, which rather reminded us of Mexican Bao (墨西哥包), which is a close cousin of pineapple bun but with a thinner and moister crust lol. Felt like we've gotten a bad batch because I saw the top of the bolo baogels online looked craggy, while ours was soggy... It was def not the pastry quality I expected from Potluck Club team as I've seen so many beautiful pictures of their bolo French toast.

I was in New York during the time that the limited edition Baogel was out, and as an appreciator of barbecue pork buns I thought it would be nice to give it a try. The place is relatively small, with a small amount of seating and a sort of a wooden interior. I also recall there being a pitcher of water, alongside some additional stuff like coffee creamer and other items similar to that. I recalled the wifi being spotty at the time, but we were able to get one of the last couple of Baogels at the shop which was pretty cool. For the Baogel itself, I recalled it being more bread than meat, which was much different than what I was expecting. It wasn't terrible, but I would probably stick to a typical barbeque pork bun. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience, but not one that was particuarly memorable. I suppose I may have had my expectations too high.

Pickled veggies, fresh falafel, the works. Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It's $25 for unlimited drinks plus food by the way. Which is sad is a deal these days. Anyway, their happy hour is solid enough for a Monday and was meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in over a year. Place is actually very cute. There are no tvs which I appreciate and the paneling of the walls and decor with all the flowers is quite tasteful. Happy hour deals 4-7pm Mon-Fri & all night Thursday apparently: Aperol Spritz $8, Hugo Spritz $9, Paloma $10, Mules $9, Draft Beers (except Guinness) $7, House Wine $9. As well as 2 Appetizer Bites for $19.95. Not the best but not the worst. I'm normally not a Spritz kind of gal. I think watering down prosecco or wine is heinous. But it was a Monday and I didn't exactly feel like powering down into happy hour so Aperol Spritz it was which switched to a Modelo later. It was the perfect drink situation on a god awful hot as hell day. We also ordered the fish tacos and what initially were the curry fries but they brought out the Greek fries. I wasn't mad about it. Honestly was torn between the two and I don't send food back unless something really bad happened. But it was essentially a side of Caesar salad dressing with feta cheese and generous amount of herbs on a very sparse and frugal amount of crispy standard cut fries. Now I know why it's a 2 for $20 deal. The tacos were 3 in an order which I guess is typical. They weren't bad but nothing stood out to me. I'd come for the drinks or try something else on the menu.
