Meeting an old friend for lunch. I'd never heard of this place before, so I went in with an open mind and no real expectations. Always hoping a local recommendation turns out great. *Service: the service was fair. Our waitress spent most of the time sitting in the booth across from us on her phone and checked in occasionally. A few times we had to ask for things we needed. Nothing rude, just not especially attentive or engaged. Definitely didn't feel like her #1 priority. *Food: I ordered the tuna *melt*. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. The tuna itself was relatively cold (should have been warm on a melt) and lacked flavor, the cheese wasn't melted (it's a "melt", right?), and the bread was good. I dipped and drenched in salt, pepper, ranch and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The fries were good, hot and tasty. Overall, it felt like a mid-level café sandwich made by a basic "cook", not a well curated restaurant sandwich. My lunch buddy ordered a smothered omelette that looked great, and he said it was very good, so that was good. *Ambiance: the atmosphere was decent. Very basic, a bit cold feeling, café-like, casual, and reasonably comfortable. Nothing stood out strongly other than it seemed pretty clean and bright. *Value: my tuna melt and fries, with no drink, was $16. Not great, not terrible. It felt like an $8-$10 sandwich max for what I got, not a standout value. I posted a picture of their specials board so you can get a feel for the value. *Overall: everything here was fair, food, service, and ambiance while value was not great. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. A three-star experience for me. I wouldn't rush back, but wouldn't avoid it if I was in the area and others wanted to go. *Update: I have a strong reputation for detailed, honest, and trustworthy reviews. What we experienced is accurately and honestly captured in this review. There were no misunderstandings, our experience is captured exactly as reviewed. Any responses attempting to paint a different picture are not accurate.

Little breakfast cafe with all the basics! They have optimal spacing with booths and tables. The staff were so friendly and seated us quick. I ordered the cinnamon French toast combo and it was good. A little bland but very buttery. They also give you warm syrup which is so nice. Great portions and overall good. A basic breakfast is how I'd describe it.

Tried their vanity hot sauce on my omelette. I loved it. Chipotle smokiness with a nice kick. I bought a bottle for $5.95. Try it.

They sell their own Hot Sauce.

Decent restaurant for breakfast or lunch. They have some different items and lack a few of the usual I have come to expect. Seated almost immediately on most occasions. I've dined here with family, joined hubby for lunch here, met the (PC) gals here for a meal, and even met some fellow Dane peeps following Dogs Day in the Garden @ DBG. Service has always been pretty good. Food generally good. Well, except the coffee. I thought the coffee was weak. They have a good size patio area which is well shaded and offers high tops and standard seating. One of the biggest drawbacks, no Mimosas. Oh, and parking is sometimes at a premium. Fortunately, if you don't mind walking a few more steps you will have plenty of options.

5/30/26: popped in for a late breakfast and devoured it. The Dubai chocolate French toast was delicious. My sister thought the strawberry delight French toast was a bit generic, but she ate it. They have plenty of parking, quite a bit of patio seating, and it's a pretty large place inside, too. May have to pop in and try their lunch items sometime.

Went because finally there was a daily soup that was something we'd like! Yay! I ordered a Rueben because those and iced tea are my barometers for cafes! I want to tell you-- yep, they do a fantastic Rueben. The meat was just the right amount. I don't like a huge pile, but I want to taste it! Meat was not dry or chewy as some is. It was really nice. The sauerkraut was tasty and the bread seemed fresh. It was perfectly toasted. The server brought me 1000 island. I was surprised it wasn't already on the sandwich. The fries were pretty great-- very hot. Crispy exterior and soft interior! The iced tea was cold, loaded with ice and came with lemon. Excellent. A pickle was included. The soup....the reason I stopped in. It was hot, thick, and came with fresh lemon. It was a creamy chicken orzo soup. It was very good but did need a bit of salt. I never salt things but this needed something. Still-- best soup I've found outside of the Midwest so far. I took some home for another meal. I almost didn't want to go because of the owner's message to me previously. If a customer has an opinion- take it or leave it! We all have so many choices of restaurants in this area. I don't give stars for nothing. I think hard about them! The server I had could not have been nicer. The food was hot. Drinks were ice cold. It was clean and bright. It really was a great experience today.

When visiting my friend in the Chandler area, we wanted to grab breakfast after watching a Tottenham match at a local pub nearby. Nothing beats a hearty breakfast after a breakfast pint and this place did satisfy our breakfast craving. When arriving we were seated immediately and the place seemed very spacious to accommodate larger parties/winter crowds. Once seated, we were greeted and advised the waitress would be with us shortly. Due to it being my first visit, I needed some time with the menu deciding but my friend knew immediately since she frequents this establishment. I decided on Garden Skillet ($14.95) and Coffee ($3.25). Overall, I felt like almost $15 for a skillet that didn't have any meat to be a bit pricey in comparison to other locations. Though I'm sympathetic to the rising cost of goods with inflation. It also didn't seem as seasoned as I would like, and lacked the wow factor. It still is a solid dish, but I would pick a different entree if I return. With friendly service and proximity to my friend's house, I will likely return in the future and would recommend to others for a typical local breakfast spot.

Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage. OJ on the side. Nice big glass!

Great Breakfast! Wow. Nice balanced menu of many good choices and specials. Something for everyone. I had the bacon Avocado tomatoe omelet and my wife had the house skillet. Very nice portions. This place smells like a breakfast place. Love it. Kaley helped us and she had patience as we decided on our meal. So helpful! We will come back again and again. Thanks Blackberry Cafe.

These stars go out to the employees who cleared the tables and the waitress/ owner who cashed is out. The waitress watched us like a hawk, waiting for prey and as if, we were going to dine and dash! Lol A little disappointed in the honesty level of our waitress and the request for extra napkins, to only receive 2! ‍ Come on now...we want to wipe our Mouths, not our finger(singular)!!! I had the Florentine (Egg White) Benedict (I only eat egg whites) with 1 side pancake. My friend/pal had a meal, in which, the same waitress, went off assumptions with her order, and assumed that she wanted pancakes when the menu gave her a choice. My friend/pal doesn't even eat pancakes ma'am ‍ ‍ My food was good! Compliments to our Chef! The cleaning crew were AWESOME and on top of things, by taking away plates and dishes, as soon as, they were ready to be cleared. Our waitress not only, rolled her eyes after we requested more napkins but she also had extra charges on the bill which, were unexplainable. She did tell us that, it was busy. This is no excuse to not provide better customer service and to overcharge. When we asked this waitress about the charges, she mentioned that the extra fees were on the menu but, they weren't listed anywhere on the menu. We looked that menu over and over to see no findings, nor did the front have a note on up charging customers. The waitress needs proper training and preferably review the menu prices before, having a field day on receipts by adding her own charges. Intentionally or not Intentionally, this is a big deal! Honestly, I left a nice tip in hopes that it is split with the staff( The other employees had ideal customer service). Being honest!!! There's plenty of parking onsite Probably won't go back here due to being overcharged! I'm happy to support but, some of these restaurants make it hard when they have crooked shady practices going on. ‍ If you go, you might want to check your receipt! Almost a $10 upcharge is insane for egg whites and 1 pancake!!!

The "perfect" opportunity finally presented itself when a friend and I were planning a catch-up lunch date and looking for a good place to eat, so I suggested The Perfect Pear Bistro. Despite meeting for a late lunch, the Pear was packed. But the restaurant is roomy, and we had no problem getting a seat. My friend and I are both plant-based, so we were super pleased with the separate vegan menu. I had the Autumn Harvest quinoa bowl (delish!), and my friend had the vegan tacos with sweet potato fries as her side. I am very picky about sweet potato fries, but I tried one here, and it was crispy and seasoned perfection. I will not skip out on the sweet potato fries next time! I really appreciate that The Perfect Pear Bistro is locally owned and uses fresh, healthy ingredients. The servers are also very friendly and helpful. We did have an issue because when we went to go check on our table at the time we were to be seated, nobody had returned back to the hostess stand for a bit of time, and there were people behind us who still had not been helped. There is no waiting area. Once we were seated, our server was amazing and we got our food and drinks promptly. The food was just okay. The sandwich had too much bread for my liking (I am used to ciabatta being thin and crunchy and this ciabatta was thick and more fluffy). The pasta was amazing, but I wish I would have asked to add a protein.

I didn't think much of it at first, but then I watched the owner heat the pastrami in the microwave before assembling the sandwich. I've never had a deli sandwich prepared that way right in front of me, and it was disappointing. She also pulled out a large bag of Taylor Farms shredded lettuce. I asked for no lettuce, and she joked that "people don't want lettuce anymore." Given the recent news surrounding Taylor Farms, that comment didn't exactly inspire confidence. What really surprised me was that the pastrami was placed in a plastic basket and microwaved. Whether or not it's considered safe, seeing food heated that way wasn't very appetizing. Looking around, there also didn't appear to be any real kitchen equipment for preparing hot sandwiches beyond a microwave. A Blackstone griddle or even a quality countertop oven would have inspired much more confidence in the food, especially considering the owner's Yelp responses emphasizing the quality of their sandwiches. From what I experienced, the preparation didn't match those claims. In the end, we ordered just one pastrami sandwich and one beer, and the total came to about $25, with the sandwich alone costing over $17. For that price, I expected much better ingredients and preparation. Unfortunately, the quality didn't match the cost. We tried to be as nice as possible but we left feeling pretty disappointed and couldn't wait to get out of there.

We weren't looking for the newest competitive game or preparing for a tournament -- we just wanted to find something fun to play together, and the staff made that feel completely accessible. There's also a lot more here for people who are into RPGs, miniatures, tournaments, and tabletop gaming, so it seems like there's genuinely something for everyone. If you're a casual board gamer who has ever walked into a giant game store and thought, "I have no idea where to even start," I'd definitely recommend checking out Mox. The staff and organization make it surprisingly easy to find your way in.

ChatGPT recommended this spot to me and I am so glad it did! On paper, this place sounded like a…read moregreat hangout spot, but in reality it exceeded my expectations by far. I was honestly expecting the restaurant to serve mediocre bar food, but the dishes were elevated and tasted great. Very impressed by the Sun-Dried Gnocchi I ordered, both in flavor and presentation. Though, I wish it weren't so oily or else it would have been perfect. They have a huge range of different board games. Many of which I've never seen/heard of. This place is great for inexperienced players like me. For our first game, the Retail Manager did a great job recommending a game that fits our preferences. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We decided to go for another game after. The staff member who helped us this time was also friendly and experienced with many of the games. I will definitely be coming back with others in the future. I've already recommended this place to like five other people since leaving earlier today.
