    Shroomy Grilled Cheese

Ok we had been driving by for months, we had just moved to the area and one night we were out and wanted to stop in. We were hungry after a super long day. We ordered EVERYTHING, Literally... Hubby wanted steak, son wanted wings, pizza, other things and I had on my Fat girl eyes and just wanted all the things. I was torn on the wing flavor and the waitress (who was a F***ing riot by the way, I Love her)! suggested the maple, I didnt Love love them, but they were good. The pizza was ok, could have been cooked like a moment more. The Shroomy grilled cheese for me was the best thing on the menu. Hubby said the steak was just meh, but he is fancy, we take his reviews with a grain of salt, LOL... The decor and vibe of the place was great! Its big, misleading from the street, but there are rooms, and hallways, and more rooms! Super cute, but it does get busy, Make a reservation. Get the Brie Crostini, I remember that being great, and now Im drooling!

Food/Drinks: The food at this location is still very delicious. I am addicted to their carnitas bowl, which is honestly an item they should have all year, but they usually only offer it seasonally during the summer. It's honestly one of my favorite dishes ever, and at this point I go back just to get that. The drinks are still great as well! Location: This location continues to be perfect for a day out or a special occasion, and it's also great to go with your family. It gives more of a business-casual vibe, and there are different types of people and some dress up and some dress casually. They do have private parking, and they also offer valet service. Service: I have given it them 5 in the past to a 4 now. The service is okay. I'm doing an updated review because I've honestly had great experiences when I do takeout, but I've eaten here at least three more times inside the restaurant. Although some of the waiters are nice and helpful, some haven't been the most friendly, like the last time we went. Our waitress came off a bit rude at times. The wait time is actually insane, which I think is the biggest issue. If I ever come back it will honestly be to pick up a carnitas bowl to go. Every single time we've eaten inside the restaurant, the wait time has been over 45 minutes to an hour, and the last time some of the food took over an hour to come to our table, which was extremely disappointing. The restaurant didn't even seem as full and we asked our waitress and she was a bit rude about it which threw us off. I'd do take out for sure but I may think twice before coming in person. I feel that if they fix this, this restaurant can thrive even more than it already is.

Food was delicious. Great flavor in the sauces. The ambiance is chill. Family friendly. The service was excellent.

I'll always love how good a gluten free person can eat here. I went in January and I can't remember what the sandwich I got was called, but it was amazing! The buffalo chicken dip is always great and a good size for sharing as an appetizer. Service was so friendly and made sure my gluten free food was safe.

I'm still dreaming about this buffalo dip. Sat bar side with a friend of mine got a couple of drinks and this dip. Probably the best Buffalo chicken dip I've ever had (yes your mom and aunt's don't compare to this). Creamy, gooey full of chicken and some kick as it should be! Been to blackies many times as a Bryant student and this place doesn't disappoint. Staff is always friendly and kind, menu is always creative and it looks so aesthetically pleasing. Whether you are visiting Bryant to catch a game or looking for a date night spot. Blackies is the way to go!

Our second visit and everything was delicious as usual! A little pricey, but worth the splurge for excellent food.

I just attended a grad party here and was blown away by the quality of the food and service. Typically it's hard to pull off a successful buffet spread while keeping everything PIPING hot and they did so with ease. The grad herself said that the staff was super helpful in curating a menu. They even printed it out with her name and placed it on the bar. The buffalo chicken dip, bruschetta, burger rangoons, pizzas, and ANY of their sliders/sammies were so good. In terms of drinks I got the Blackie's pair. It was so good that I got another one immediately after. The bartender working was a sweetheart as well! Would love to visit again!

We went in for pizza at 3 PM to avoid the dinner crowd because Blackie's can get busy quickly. The service was excellent, we were seated immediately and our water classes were always full. I ordered the Zab's Wicked Hot Cousin without the hot honey. The dough is a light, fluffy, thin crust that has nice pull to it as you bite it. If you like lots of cheese and topping, this is it. Very good pepperoni and the fermented chilies were a perfect match for me. I usually order cherry peppers on my pizza, but these were way better...no stems with all the flavor. The cheese was super stretchy and full of flavor with all of that cup and Charred pepperoni. I was lucky enough to take 2 slices home and they reheated perfectly! Can't wait till next time.

Arrived following noon service to a packed parking lot and packed dining room. Sat at a high top and immediately noticed no purse hangers, wobbly table, mild draft. We had at least 4 menus to look through...and no one announced the specials (they did at the family tables next to us) the steak was cooked well, way too many fried onions, and the demi glaze tasted like watered down bbq sauce. The fish sandwich was good except the tomato added unnecessary acid and the bun fell apart (too much aioli or old bread). Our server was pleasant and agreed purse hooks are a must! He fixed the table wobble and left us in peace to eat. We had to pack our own to go box, no dessert offered.

The gleaming facade of Blackie's stands out on the George Washington Highway, all sleek charcoal gray and punchy lime green accents. This is not your corner pizza joint with fluorescent lighting and sticky laminate tables. Blackie's wants you to know right away that they're playing a different game. Inside, the aesthetic continues its war on mediocrity. Stone walls meet distressed wood paneling. Artful lighting casting just the right glow over marble tabletops and modern, artsy, seating. The place feels expensive and calculated, with considered design where every weathered plank and pendant light has been placed with Instagram worthiness in mind. The dining room fills up fast. Locals know something tourists don't. Two fancy Italian pizza ovens loom large behind us in the beautiful dining area with the equally fancy bar in front of us. Their pepperoni pizza arrives on a wooden board, a 14-inch circle of potential greatness. First visual impression: beautiful. The kind of pie that food photographers wish for. But we eat with our mouths, not our eyes. The first slice pulled away from the pie reveals a crust that defies expectation. It's remarkably light, almost airy, overwhelmed toward the center, with a structure that grows more substantial as you reach the perimeter. The flavor is distinctive, pleasant, with an agreeable chew that speaks of proper fermentation and good flour. This is a seriously considered pizza dough. Someone in the kitchen understands bread. But then comes the problem. The sauce, applied with such restraint that you might question whether they ran out halfway through prep, gets absolutely bulldozed by a tsunami of cheese. This dairy avalanche dominates every bite, turning what should be a symphony into a one-note song. The pepperoni, while abundant, contributes almost nothing to the equation. It exists merely as decoration, its flavor lost beneath the blanket of mozzarella excess. The service at Blackie's runs with remarkable precision. Water glasses never empty. Questions find immediate answers. Needs are anticipated rather than responded to. This is professional hospitality at work, the kind that makes you feel simultaneously cared for and not spied on. In the end, Blackie's aesthetic speaks of culinary ambition and careful planning. The service is ready to support a serious dining destination. But the pizza, at least, falls victim to the most basic of errors: imbalance. Too much of one thing, not enough of the others. Would I return? Absolutely. But I'd veer toward their burgers and comfort food rather than the pizza. It's a great spot that deserves a better outcome than this pie provided.

I've been going here since before they moved to their present location. I dine out frequently and started going more frequently since moving to Lincoln and usually sit at the bar. The last several visits the service has been terrible, the food not up to par, more expensive and usually arrives with error. I've felt virtually invisible at the bar waiting an inordinate amount of time to be recognized and approached. Stop with the high school students behind the line and train your staff to be more attentive. Dining out is expensive which is why many folks have stopped. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Every time I'm at Blackies - I just love the food! It's just the wait! So as long as you're not in a rush! It's a casual trendy vibe inside and at the bar! I love the pizza bar too!

The bottom crust burned hard while the top stayed pale and raw. Cheese pooled like weather patterns. Oil slicked everything. The pepperoni cups gave up on life halfway through cooking. I wrote what I saw. I posted it. I moved on. Then Jack's did something that matters more than producing a perfect pizza on the first try. They didn't get defensive. They didn't make excuses. They just invited me back to see what they're really about. "It was just a tough pie day," I told them. Because that's the truth. Every kitchen has them. Consistency is the hobgoblin of many restaurants, particularly the ones that are trying to get their footing set. Today we walked back in, genuinely hoping for a redemption story. Sometimes hope gets you disappointed. Sometimes it gets you vindicated. The pizza that arrived today looked nothing like last year's disaster. Thicker crust, doughy in that substantial way that makes for a chewy, satisfying experience. It had weight. Structure. The kind of foundation that holds up under scrutiny. The first bite told the whole story. Crunchy on the outside, chewy through the middle, with this unexpected toasted sesame oil flavor happening in the crust that sets it apart from every other bar pizza in Rhode Island. The sauce showed up this time, savory and well-balanced, working with high-quality cheese instead of drowning under it. This wasn't some fluke of good luck. This was a really competent pizza made by people who've figured out their recipe and their oven. The service matched the food. Friendly without being intrusive, attentive without hovering, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to stay for another beer. The room still has that Bryant Bulldog bar aesthetic working. Reclaimed wood, industrial lights, butcher block tables, sports stories on the walls. It knows what it is. A neighborhood spot where you watch the game, catch up with friends, and eat pizza that holds its own. If I lived nearby, I'd be here regularly. That's not something I say often after writing a critical first review. But Jack's earned it the hard way, by taking feedback seriously and proving they can deliver when it counts. Last year's pizza was a problem. This year's pizza is the solution. Sometimes the story worth telling isn't about perfection on the first attempt. It's about showing up better the second time.

We were the only ones there when we first walked in but more patrons came in as the night went on. Made our way to the bar and orders were flowing - one warning if you're sitting at the bar, it is an open kitchen so there will be alot of aromas flowing through and may get on your clothes but really it'll just remind you of how good the food was. Also, the barstools are not the most comfy - metal stools with no backing so after 2.5 hours, we were feeling a bit achy. We ordered way more than we should've but everything just looked so good! We got the croquettes (our absolute fave), the cauliflower, the pizza du jour (I think it had spinach, pepperoni, ricotta and garlic) and for entrees we got the fish tacos and the Orecchiette. The pizza had a great balance of flavors and the crust was thin and crispy. We were so full but had a few bites of the fish tacos and pasta - the fish was cooked to perfection and the aioli it came with topped it perfectly. Pasta was different - had a scallion cream sauce that was a nice change up from your typical Alfredo. It was a beautiful spring evening and we really enjoyed being out on the deck. There was live music inside, and we could hear it well from the deck while also still being able to converse. Service was great - There was a mixup with my drink and the server took care of it immediately. Our server checked in on us frequently, and was polite and friendly. I'd definitely go back again for one of the nightly specials and a seat on the deck!

My friend ordered the green apple & pecan said with Cajun chicken she really enjoyed the said it was really good, but the chicken came out plain so they had to remake it as Cajun chicken and it cane out completely burnt so she didn't eat it. She also ordered the cauliflower for an appetizer they were just okay they could've used more seasoning and sauce Service - the service was fast even with it being a full house, I didn't like that my opinion wasn't taken into consideration because I did complain about the chicken and was ignored Ambiance- large space, very room, stage for bands on certain nights there was a singer there the Thursday we went, they also offer weekly specials different things on certain nights. The outdoor patio and bar is nice for summer! I won't be back but I got to experience it

The staff was competent, effective and you can tell they were organized and prepared, not their first rodeo. They got Us in for a walk in waitlist within 15mins which shocked me as we were 4th in line on their waitlist link. Having a waitlist link was impressive in itself tbh. Love the communication for customers... showing the wait time and which spot in line you have. Chips and water came out quick even with the packed restaurant. At the end, I believe a manager, came by to ask how our dining experience was and to clear the table. Love that ! Nice that the manager jumps in to help and takes time to check in with customers. I was very impressed by their operations. I had el pastor tacos which the cinnamon-ish flavor profile wasn't my taste but the tacos were good if you enjoy that, came with black refried beans and rice. Rice was really good! I had the spicy Diablo margaritas with tajin rim and really enjoyed that as well. My bf had the birria tacos which came with the dip and he said it was mid, could've been better as wasn't much flavor. I also had shrimp ceviche which was ok too. Was hoping for more flavor. Really loved the warm tortilla chips and salsa was nice. We also ordered the cheese queso blanco dip which was really good.
