I love this place - I love the view when you sit on the booth and get to see the skylight. I love the food here. The whole ambiance to me is just something that I truly enjoy every time I come. We've been here many times - most recently National Margarita Day. We arrived at 5:40PM on a Saturday and our party of 6 was quoted a 40 minute wait. We were seated in 30! We each ordered a round of house margaritas and an order of guacamole. Our server was very attentive and let us know when to expect our drinks. I had the crispy shrimp tacos and my toddler had the cheese quesadilla and fries. Everything came out wonderfully. It may not be the most authentic but we've always had a good experience. My only complaint is they need to redesign the hostess stand if that's even possible. While waiting to give my name it's hard not to be in someone's way - blocking the entrance or aisle from wait staff. read more

Thought we would try this place again since it is cinco de mayo. Big mistake. Slow service, 3 out of 4 of our orders were wrong and had to be re-made ( and big mistakes like chicken on a vegetarian order). Also we eat as a family, I hate restaurants that bring out one persons order at a time! By the time we finally got our orders, then the remade order my wife's food was cold. Don't go here if you are vegan or if you have a dairy allergy. Literally everything on the menu, including their rice and salad dressings (even vinaigrette) have massive amounts of dairy. Other than that the food is pretty good and the wait staff is friendly. read more

New Menu is terrible. We've been going to Blanco for years now. While the salsa was always sub-par, the tacos and margaritas were always extremely good - great flavors. Recently, the menu has been redesigned. The mahi fajitas are gone, as are the barbecue chicken tacos. The remaining tacos/food don't have the great flavor profile they used to, they were bland and uninteresting. The salsa has the same poor flavor it used to, but is now clumpy. I'd go back to four stars if Blanco steps it back up and goes back to the old menu. I think we're done going to Blanco at this point until things change. read more

I have been to the location in Scottsdale before and love it. When I found out this is where we were eating for UofA family weekend I was excited. We made a reservation and I'm glad we did because the place was packed. We were seated right away. We were told about happy hour by our server and placed our orders. We ordered some trio of dips. We wish we had just done the guacamole because basically for the guacamole in the trio of dips they just give you the tiniest bit of it. We asked for more chips and we saw our server Jason take our chips to another table by accident and leave them there. It took over 5 minutes to get more chips after we had waited awhile and over 10 to get a refill if water. He then brought us a cereal sized bowl of salsa as extra salsa. However we still had a full cup of salsa from when it was originally brought out. We have no idea what the bowl of salsa was for. I ordered the chicken al pastor tacos. I thought chicken pastor tacos were odd because typically al pastor tacos are made with pork. When they arrived they did not have pineapple on them like stated on the menu, they did not even taste like al pastor tacos and they were so spicy for me I could only take 2 bites. I LOVE spicy food so when I told my family they were too spicy they looked baffled. I NEVER send back food because I feel bad and uncomfortable doing so, but I had to otherwise my stomach would get revenge on me later. Jason came to our table to check on us and I said that I was so sorry but the tacos were just too spicy for me. I handed him the plate and he said "well maybe some jalapeño touched the taco, do you want to try eating the second one?" What???? I was so confused and just asked him for regular carnitas but he asked again about me finishing the al pastor tacos. Look I know it's a pain for him to have to go back to the chef and say that I thought it was too spicy. I was already feeling bad about sending it back and very uncomfortable. I just wanted regular carnitas to replace. He brought out the carnitas after. They were just ok. I just remember Blanco in Scottsdale being so much better so I was a little let down. The actual restaurant itself is super cool. The restaurant is opened up to the outside with plenty of patio seating and great views. I would totally go back and give it another chance in May at graduation! read more

Stopped by last night for dinner with a friend. I've been to Blanco one other time in the past at the PHX airport and remembered it being pretty good so I was excited to return! The ambiance of the restaurant is tasteful, and puts its best foot forward. We were seated immediately, and our server checked in quickly assuring us she would be right back which was appreciated. I opted for the chipotle shrimp tacos with black beans and rice. My friend, who's a vegetarian, appreciated the heads up the server gave regarding the meat products in the charro beans and rice. Our food came out pretty quickly, and in the meanwhile we were provided chips and salsa. Unfortunately, it's because of the food that this place is getting 2 stars from me. To start the portions are small, especially for the price - I'd estimate that the beans and rice are portioned to about 1/4 of a cup each. While small portions aren't necessarily a negative it wad here given that the sides were tasted much better than the entree itself. The chipotle shrimp tacos were fairly bland, with the primary flavor being the char and none of chipotle. They were slightly overcooked as well. The slaw and avocado that made up the rest of the taco didn't add any acidity or complexity to the flavor either. The most flavorful part of the meal was easily the complimentary chips and salsa. Overall, a pretty big disappointment, again, given the price. What you pay for at Blanco is it ultimately the decor and the Fox Concept name, not the food. With that in mind I doubt I'll be back for anytime for a meal. read more

The corn tortillas were a little thicker than normal which was nice that they didn't fall apart. The rice was SO delicious- light and a delicious flavor. Came here with a buddy for lunch. The restaurant is puppy friendly on the patio. Atmosphere was very friendly however the way the patio is set up it was a wind tunnel (bring your jacket!) Server was very prompt and attentive and the food was delicious. The only downside is its a little pricey than I'd like but the food is defintely worth it. I started with the house Margarita, grilled Mexican corn and a green Chile chicken Poblano enchilada (whew, lengthy name but almost tasted like a Mexican chicken pot pie). Decided to try this place for Sonoran restaurant week. We had a reservation for 645 and got sat right on time. Then we all ordered drinks which didn't come till 35 minutes later, so that was a little disappointing. The watermelon margarita has a chunk of watermelon and that's about the only watermelon flavor you get. The queso and guacamole were both delicious. I loved how the queso had guacamole in it already. Then our food came and everyone's was piping hot except mine. I got the carne asada tacos and the meat was cold. But since it had been an hour that we waited for the food I ate anyways. My boyfriend had the green chile pork enchiladas which had a lot of flavor and were delicious. We had the flan for dessert and the whip cream on it was so good, it definitely tasted homemade. Advice: make reservations on a Friday it was busy and also parking was packed so you might have to walk a little bit. read more

The food is a bit pricer than your usual Mexican restaurant....my bill was around $13 for 3 street carne asada (tiny) tacos. They were good, but not sure they were worth $4 good. We Love Blanco Tacos + Tequila! Our go to fave is the Braised Beef and Avocado Crisp. Super delicious :) you definitely have to try it! They have outdoor mist fans :) and also try their prickly pear margarita! Super refreshing especially around this time of the year. UPDATE 4/28/2019: Apparently Blanco has changed their menu. The Braised Beef and Avovado is no longer my favorite as they have changed the way that they prepare it. They definitely need to go back to the old way of making it because the new recipe does not taste as great. Also, everything that we ordered was incorrect that day. We decided to try their Smashed Watermelon Margarita and their Cadillac Margarita. Our waiter "keyed" in the wrong drink and gave me a frozen classic margarita instead. We told them and they replaced it with the correct one. Then we ordered their short rib cheese crisp and their award winning pork tacos. We received a regular cheese crisp. We told the kind lady who gave us our order (maybe manager?) that it was supposed to be the short rib and she kindly took it back and when she brought it back it looked like they just threw on the braised beef and an ice cream scoop of guacamole right smack dab in the middle. We asked if the menu had changed and she said yes it did. I wasn't satisfied with their new version of that cheese crisp and will not order it anymore. Our waiter apologized and said that he might've keyed in the wrong order again for the cheese crisp but But the lady (maybe manager) was kind enough to not charge us that time for it. When we asked for a refill of the Cadillac Margarita it didn't taste the same as the first one. We told our waiter and it seemed as if they were annoyed with us at this point. They were kind enough once again and replaced it. We were over being at the restaurant any longer and we felt as if they were annoyed with us but whatever. We have probably been here over a dozen times, and while the food was on point, the service was disappointing. We took my parents here Friday night and made reservations the morning of on Open Table for 6:15p. They arrived just before 6p to try to get a seat early, but were told they were behind on reservations. By 6:35p we were taken to our seats. We sat on the patio around the side, and because of the weather that night it was a little chilly. They had heaters in the ceiling, but no portable heater around us. Thankfully there was a wind shield that was blocking the wind behind us. About halfway through the meal the wait staff raised the wind shield to transport out some chairs. This was understandable. However, after they had finished they did not re-lower the shield, creating a wind tunnel effect. It took around 10min before we could ask a wait staff to lower it again for us. The most unfortunate event of the night was near the end of our meal. Three young women sat down at the table just across from ours. Shortly after they sat, out male waiter and another wait staff quickly brought over a portable heater, and spent considerable time lighting it right next to their table. After us sitting through the whole meal in the cold, with busy wait staff, and not being considered with the wind shield, it was hard to not assume this new table received preferential treatment based simply on their looks. Overall, this will probably be the last time we go to Blanco's for a while. read more

I've wanting to try out Blancos for a while now. I've heard good things about the restaurant. So I decided to give them a try the other day. I was greeted straight right away by the host who sat me in a comfortable spot by the window. The ambiance was pleasant. My server Millie did a fantastic job recommending dishes and a beverage. I was able to mix and match my tacos so I was very pleased. Many restaurants don't offer that option. The food was outstanding. And the service top notch. Absolutely the worst corporate Mexican food I have attempted to eat in the United States! And it's 40 miles from Mexico. Sunday night,3/4 filled. Server immediately says how crazy busy he is and we should order quickly. Imagine a restaurant that is between Taco Bell and chipotle and you know what the food tastes like. Service matches the food quality. The server had our credit card for 20 minutes while attempting to pay. There are so many great local taquerias and full Mexican places here, please don't waste your money on this faint attempt at Mexican food. read more

You will not get a server...... when ours showed up she was lovely but had tables in every part of the restaurant so her service was lacking big time. Runners should run food and return with your side of salsa.....not here, they just walk slowly away from you..... It's a tough one.... I want to like it but I can't. Mixed review as the food and the service were great. Not sure how any establishment in Tucson can think that seating a group outside when it's 110, would be good. We went as a large group for a celebration, made the reservation weeks ago, showed up ready to have fun and enjoy a meal. The only thing we did was sweat from head to toe, chug lots of ice water and hope the food would hurry so we could get the hell out of there. You can't put a table on the west side of your building , where the sun has baked the walls for hours, where not even the misters , that we're off and we had to ask a few times to be turned on, could help the heat we were faced with, and expect people to say nice things about you.
