Wandered upon Blaque Parlor last night. And Yes. Yes yes yes! The funnel cake and ice cream were delicious and very much artisanal in nature. What do I mean by that? They taste beyond fresh and, well, like they're specially made for you. And the funnel cake actually was... it smelled like a county fair but tasted much better. One of the best I've had. The ice cream was soft, creamy and full of flavor. We had the cotton candy with cookies & cream. Before you say 'gross' please be advised... they can separate them if needed. Which we took them up on. The whipped cream was soft and oh so good combined with the cotton candy- again, shockingly amazing. All of it was just that, too. Even the couple inside the truck. So cool, so friendly. Def. going back again and again.

Visited Blaque Parlor recently and everything was a hit. First, they're open late so it's perfect for that late night craving. Ordered mint chip and cookies and cream and SO creamy and perfect. If you get the black waffle cone, it's made fresh so you have to wait a few minutes, but it's totally worth it. Going to definitely be visiting again soon.

Y'allllllllll let me put you onto something! This cute little retro truck sells everything from horchata and Thai tea to ice cream and shakes and even funnel cakes and mini churros! They're always on point with the friendly fast service I've munched out here quite a few times and I honestly don't know if I have a favorite thing it's all so good you can't go wrong!

We randomly stumbled upon Blaque Parlor while visiting Hot Mother Clucker. We decided to come back another day to try out their funnel cakes and ice cream because we had already bought chicken. After trying out their ice cream, house made cones and funnel cakes we were pleasantly surprised at how incredible it tasted. We usually enjoy afters for ice cream and we felt as satisfied if not more with Blaque parlor. Nico and Ashley are an awesome duo. Excellent customer service and cleanliness. I recommend everyone to give it a shot next time they are in the mood for some dessert.

A charming little new food truck concept right here in the SFV. Now we don't have to go to downtown LA to get black ice cream! Actually, only two of their flavors have activated charcoal, currently they are the orange sherbet and the vegan lemon ice. You can also get a WARM black waffle cone made fresh to order! Two flavors in a waffle cone will be $8, ($6 for the ice cream and $2 for the cone). Activated charcoal can be good for you! It purportedly can remove toxins from your body, aid in digestion, whiten your teeth and help cure hangovers! Via black ice cream! The orange sherbet was creamy and super subtle. The lemon ice was also light and tasted like frozen lemonade. I can't wait to bring a hungry friend back to share the FUNNEL CAKE, $15, which I'm gonna top with black ice cream of course...photo op! If black ice cream isn't your thing, they also have regular (colored) flavors like: cookies & cream, rocky road, rainbow sherbet, mint chip, strawberry cheesecake, as well as three additional vegan flavors- rainbow road, cotton candy & blueberry blast. I guess I'm gonna have to try them all! This is located right next to Hot Motha Clucker at the Sherman Oaks Car Wash. It can get chilly out here after the sun goes down so grab a jacket or, as I saw some people doing, grab a blanket out of your car. Blaque Parlor is here, Wednesday - Sunday, 7:00 - 11:00 pm. Had a craving for something sweet the other night and we decided to come here. They are parked in the car wash after hours alongside another food truck type deal that sells chicken (my husband said is amazing). The parking lot is a sea of cars awkwardly parked but there was definitely room to park. The girl who took our order was friendly and knowledgeable. The Blaque products have activated charcoal in them- they look like just a flavored ice but the taste was better than expected and actually had a thicker texture. Ice cream was good I got cookies and cream it was really sweet with a whole lot more cookies than cream! If you're just getting ice cream it's basic but the blaque charcoal is what I would go back for if you are looking for something refreshing instead of sweet read more

Braque Parlor has the scoops! I got the waffle cone and two scoops of ice cream. The wafted cone was hand made on the spot, it was so fresh. I got cookies and cream and rocky road, both authentic flavors. Everything was fresh and made to order. Can't wAit to come back to try the funnel cakes and other things on the menu. read more

Super fun ice cream truck to have cater your work party. They were reliable and very communicative. Their fresh cones came hot off the waffle iron and were so delicious. Look for a blue truck behind the carwash. Got the cookies and cream in a black waffle cone. The ice cream was yum and so was the cone- it was made on the spot and was light, crisp still kinda warm and soft when I got it. They take card for a 30 cent fee. read more

Established in 2016.

In May of 2016 Blaque Parlor sold its first scoop of ice cream, and we were the very first parlor to specialize in black ice cream! Blaque Parlor started with small events such as birthdays of no more than 15 people. We now host all sorts of events with up to 500 people, and take our food truck all over Southern California! Since opening, through trial and error, we have perfected our recipes and take great pride in everything we serve.

I recently enjoyed multiple flights of beers at Lawless Brewing Co. when I saw Burrito 88 Food Truck as the day's food option and needed something other than alcohol to fill my belly. Prior to these COVID-19 times, I frequently attended, worked, or volunteered at the myriad of year-around events throughout Southern California, yet this was the first time I've ever seen this road restaurant and had to try them out. With a name seemingly an ode to a favorite Asian restaurant of mine growing up (Gourmet 88), would I also reflect upon them as warmly!? QUICK BIO "Coming onto the scene during the COVID-19 pandemic, Burrito 88 is a Los Angeles food truck serving hearty Mexican, Latin, and Spanish food through a concise menu." PURCHASE Steak and Chicken Street Tacos ($2.00 x2): Simple tacos stuffed with their respective flavorful meats lightly decorated with a smattering of colorful vegetables on warm yellow corn tortillas, this was all one truly needed any time of day but especially at a brewery. Even the way the juices trickled down my wrist reminded me of one of my favorite Greek dishes. The abundance of ingredients was great, but I started wishing this had lamb instead of steak and then simply rename it "The Greek Special" (maybe consider this option to the menu). PARKING (FREE) Being a food truck, they were at the beck and call wherever they were serving food. I drove myself since I was specifically in the area for the latest brewery in town. Otherwise, the venue was at Lawless Brewing Co. which had their own private lot and plenty of surrounding free timed parking on the main drag of Craner Ave. and around the neighborhood (please read all posted street signs). Another option was to hire a driving service like a taxi, Lyft, or Uber. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Your standard self-sufficient food truck with exterior menus, order and pick up windows, but currently there were no areas for condiments, napkins, utensils, or seating. Natural lighting was prevalent during the daytime while electric street and truck lighting glowed at night. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $17.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). The other spot was not bad but not the place we've known to love. Had a few less tacos here because I went to the other. I went to the LA location too and it's on par. They have little room to sit but plenty of area to stand. Good customer service. Staff are friendly and make you laugh.

I was a bit intimidated but one day I noticed the line wasn't so long, so I decided to check things out. Note, It's Fresh Falafel is parked in front of a strip mall in an area that's mostly occupied by Jewish/Kosher businesses. Their food is vegan and kosher. The cart is supervised under strict Orthodox Jewish Rabbinic supervision. "All food items are pareve and all baked produces are Pas Yisroel. All cooked food is Bishul Yisroel. All vegetables are cleaned and checked by a mashgiach." The falafels are the star and they have three kinds: green, red, yellow. They're made fresh to order. The menu is simple: falafel pita, falafel salad, falafel balls, French fries, canned drinks and water. They have shredded cabbage, Israeli salad (chopped tomatoes, cucumbers), pickles, kraut, hummus, tahini, a yellow sauce (amba?), and zhug (spicy cilantro parsley sauce). The pitas are extra thick, Jerusalem style. Falafels (7 balls for $4.99): I wish I had eaten them fresh out of the fryer...the yellow ones have a hint of turmeric. They're sweeter than the green falafel balls. The green ones had parsley. The falafel balls were moist, nutty, and chunky with a lightly crunchy exterior. The zhug was amazing - fresh and super spicy. The tahini was super strong/intense and creamy. The amba was intense too but I didn't like it as much (it's sour and acidic). Mr. Froyo had the falafel salad ($9.99) which comes with 5 falafel balls, your choice of salads, one pita and sauces. He didn't say much but he really enjoyed it - the fresh elements, the zhug, the hummus. Bold, fresh vegan flavors! Plus, the prices are so reasonable. There's something so satisfying about eating fresh hot falafel from a stand or cart. The cart has a faucet so you (and they) can wash your hands with soap and water. Credit cards accepted. Not feeling like falafel? They have another food cart parked right next to the falafel cart - it specializes in chicken and meat (e.g., schnitzel sandwich). It's kosher, of course.
