The glass the host handed my brother had bright pink lipstick on it. My brother does not wear bright pink lipstick. When we notified the host of it, she sighed and took the glass with no apology, and it took us a very long time for him to get a replacement. Took forever to get anything: our drinks, our orders, our food, our check. Very annoying. I got the When Pigs Fly pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. Taste wise, good place. Maybe order takeout, and expect it to not be ready for awhile if you want to circumvent the poor service. read more

We ate lunch on a warm afternoon. No waiting, just a little after 12 noon. We sat outside near the beautiful plants. Slight breeze was blowing and temperature was perfect. Great, attentive service. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish tacos with salad. My husband's burger was just what he wanted after eating lots of seafood all week. Our daughter devoured her clam chowder. Overall, it was fine. The poutine and fried haddock sandwich were delicious. The experience was not great though. My mom ordered a Connecticut style lobster roll (warm) after the waiter, I think his name was Casey, recommended it, but she was brought a Maine style lobster roll (cold). She asked the woman that brought the food if this was correct and she had no idea. By the time we saw Casey again, my mom had started eating it. Casey made a point of saying he put the order in correctly but said that was not what we were given. He apologized and said he would take part of the price of it off our bill. This did not happen but we got tired of waiting to ask him about it, so just paid and left. read more

The fam debated about The Blaze - is it 4 or 5 stars? I gave it a strong 4 - possibly our number 2 in Bar Harbor behind Finback. The only negative comment was the menu was somewhat out of place in Bar Harbor but I thought that it was part of the the allure. My husband and our two friends chose to dine at the bar at Blaze after a long day of hiking, based on the extensive beer menu. That part lived up to the expectations, but our experience soured with the incompetence of the bartenders serving us at the bar. Somehow, they didn't understand that we were all on the same check, so they took our order and ignored our friends. When I mentioned that they would be on the same check, thinking it was an oversight, the bartender said "oh my brain is a magic whiteboard- gotta put in your order before I forget it!" It was bizarre, but made worse when the bartender proceeded to ignore us in favor of weirdly flirting with a mom and daughter duo at the end of the bar (yes, he flirted with both of them, and yes, it was as awkward as it sounds). Once all four of us finally got to order, the food came out fairly quickly. My husband and I split the duck bruschetta, which was more of a stacked meat and cheese board: duck pate, smoked duck, manchego, walnut goat cheese, and fig jam. All the elements were good, but it would have been better if they were all on their own. Our friends both got cups of clam chowder, which they said were delicious. For dinner, the best entree was the lobster and scallop risotto (note to the bartenders: do not describe scallops as "dank!" What a gross way to describe seafood!). The worst was the beet salad with lobster tail- the lobster was dry and overcooked. Duck fat fries were meh and truth be told, the other two entrees were so mediocre I can't remember them 4 days after the fact. Tl;dr: drink the beers but eat elsewhere, and avoid the weird bartenders. read more

Blaze has a hip, modern look and atmosphere. The food was solid. The New England clam chowder was very good. The clams were extremely fresh and delicious. The potatoes were excellent. The chowder was very creamy. I also ordered the Haddock fish tacos. I had mixed feelings about it. The haddock was very fresh. I liked that the fish was lightly breaded since I do not really like thick fried batter. In addition, the spicy aioli sauce was very good. On the other hand, it completely overpowered the fish to the extent that I could no longer taste the fish at all anywhere there was sauce. The fish was breaded in multiple strips the size of fingers. In my opinion, the fish would absorb the sauce better if there were less strips and maybe one big piece of fish. I will also add that there was a mouthwatering beef short rib on a nearby table that I could not stop myself from staring at. However, it was huge and expensive so I did not order it just for myself. Veggie pizza was absolutely fantastic. Reservations were easy to make and they were very accommodating.

Looked good & decided on dinner here with my family. There are a lot of us and it was busy but they set a table and sat us in about 5 minutes. We have a lot of picky eaters, but everyone found something. Our server, Jandee knew the menu perfectly and could answer all of my brother's many questions he said his pizza was the best he'd ever had! Everyone else loved their dinners. I had fish tacos. The market fish was halibut and came out really tasty! I could write more. The food was great, but it was Jandee's service that prompted my review. I recently started working in a restaurant & I know exactly what goes into our server's job. She well exceeded any expectations!!! It's hard to find great food other than seafood in Acadia to be honest with you especially when it's still mid April and all the restaurants have not opened up. My favorite part is that they cook a lot of stuff on wood. They have a wood oven for pizza and they cook their meat and fish on open wood fire which I love. I was also really impressed by the beer selection there and I even go to try the long anticipated Epiphany beer from foundation. Overall it's a great place to have some drinks and good quality food. read more

We stopped in last week during a rainy day in Bar Harbor. We sat inside, across from the bar. The service and food were excellent. We had drinks, shared a salad, app, and the mushroom pizza. All were good, but the pizza was especially delicious. The tables are a bit close, and a larger gentleman behind me kept bumping into my chair, but other than that, we enjoyed the experience and food and plan to return. read more

On our last night in Bar Harbor we wanted a nice non-seafood dinner and Blaze delivered. Extensive beer and wine menu as well as great drinks; highly recommend the Blueberry lemonade. I wish we had thought to take a picture... But one of the best things Blaze has going for it is Jordan. She was outstanding. We came here during an unseasonably chilly night in June while it was pouring. We brought our puppy, and had to be seated outside. (Obviously we were the only people sitting outside) They were accommodating, and even happily provided our puppy with a water bowl (which he promptly flipped over, but they didn't mind). Service was prompt despite it being very busy inside and us being the only patrons seated outside. It was COLD outside, but the tarp kept us dry. The food was delicious. The waitress suggested a local blueberry soda since she had us pegged as tourists, and it was a great recommendation. She even gave us some suggestions on where to buy a case (and we ended up taking home 3 cases). We got the clam chowder, the wood grilled lobster, the poutine fries, the tuna ahi tacos, and the pork belly lollipops. The lobster was good, but we preferred steamed (we asked for wood grilled as a break from all the steamed lobster we'd been eating, so it's not their fault). The poutine was excellent as an appetizer. The clam chowder was okay and very sizable, but nothing to write home about. The tacos were disappointing, as the flavors/textures didn't really go well together, especially with the tasteless flour tortilla. The star of the show was the pork belly lollipops as an appetizer. Perfectly prepared pork belly with a glaze of honey chili sauce, it was the best non-lobster related dish I had in Bar Harbor. Friendly service, some very good food if you know what to order, and dog friendly. We'll come back, probably not in a rainstorm, though. read more

Horrible! We arrived at 6:00 with eight people in our party. Yes I know 8 is a lot so we said we could split up to whatever is easiest. The hostess told us 30 minutes. Perfect! Except 30'minutes came and went, at 45 minutes I went and asked what's the scoop snd was told me we are getting that table right there as people were cleaning up and ready to leave. I went back to my group and waited patiently for a phone call- about her ten minutes went by and still no call so my brother went over and talked to the hostess who said a couple more minutes. And he noticed a new family was sitting in the seat she told us we were going to sit in. So after another 10 minutes my husband went over and asked what's the scoop and she said oh soon, he also told her that we had been there for an hour and twenty minutes when they said 30 and er have children with us. At this point everyone was getting hangry and one of us ran over to jalapeños and got us right in.... As we sat at jalapeños we NEVER got a phone call!!! 3 hours later my husband went over to talk to a manager about it- but they had no clue!! We waited forever, and they never had the decency to tell us they weren't going to be able to seat us, or that they can't accommodate us! One of the rudest places I have ever been! Side note we did use the bathrooms while we waited for an hour and a half- they were gross! One was plugged and the other had garbage all over. Would I go back- never! read more

Food - We had a blaze burger and the Jamaican steak tacos and they were incredible. The fries are cooked in duck fat and come with specialty sauces, very good. Drinks- we had vodka blueberry lemonades. Little tart at first but the waitress took them and added simple syrup and they were just right. Service- she wanted those drinks to be perfect for us. The pizza was definitely satisfying to eat and I definitely enjoyed the flavor spectrum of the Wild Mushroom pizza. However, both of the pizzas were a bit burned at the bottom which made it less enjoyable to eat and the pizzas were expensive for the size of them. read more

As a 200 lb man who has been alive for 35 years I can comfortably state that the cumulative amount of wings I've eaten over the course of my life currently surpasses my body weight. As a young child I was known to push away bottles of milk with disdain and reach for chicken wings with glee. I once drove 9 hours to Buffalo, ate a plate of wings, got directly back in my car and drove back home with no hesitation or remorse... Believe me when I saw the wings at Blaze are not to be missed. They come in orders of 1 and 2 pounds and my only regret was not making multiple orders. I had the classic Buffalo sauce, and washed them down with 3 beers in no less than 90 seconds. I rate them a 9.5 out of 10 which is an outrageously high, yet entirely deserved assessment. Bonus point: they brew fantastic beer there and randomly have Old rasputin Russian imperial stout available which is in fact the greatest beverage of all time. This place is a can't miss if you enjoy the simple perfection of the wing/beer relationship majesty. read more

Don't know what y'all are complaining about??? This was one of the best restaurants in BH. We went in late on a Wednesday night and the staff were great. Lizette was our waitress and she was fab-u-lous!!!! We had just traveled, by car, across the USofA with our schnauzer in tow. They were so accommodating with our pet. The home brew that they had was phenomenal. Very good pale ale. We had great salads with very yummy house-made dressings. My hubby had the clam chowder and said it was very good. He started with the oysters and really enjoyed them. I had a pizza. My only complaint, but may be a regional thing, is when I asked for spicy sausage, I got a saucy sweet (and a bit spicy) sausage. Could not find anyone that served salami on their pizza. We tried to return to this restaurant on our final night in Bar Harbor, but it was packed!!!!! You won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped by here after hiking Acadia, and it provided me with just the right elixir... a phenomenal ice cold selection of craft and domestic brews on tap. Food is on point as well.
