Had a quick 1 night stay over Spring Break weekend with the fam near Disney, Blaze pizza calmed our hungry bellies! Solid 4 stars! Whenever I come to one of these create-your-own pizza places - I honestly have no clue what flavor my pizza is supposed to be! I add way, way, wayyyyyyy too many toppings to my thin crust that it's impossible to pick up by hand! But the folks at Blaze don't mind at all - they tell me to load that sucker up with whatever I want!! Pizza purists be DAMNED!! I don't usually leave reviews but only when it's bad I have to do my part to try to make some positive change happen, been to this location multiple times, an employee had an attitude when I ask for additional toppings, some where nice and helpful, but the counter was really dirty and toppings were scattered all over in areas they didn't belong, not safe if someone has a food allergy, I typically get pesto on my pizza but the pesto there looked hard and spoiled. So I have heard a lot about this place. Drove the hubby to a conference and before the conference we decided to grab a quick bit to eat. You build your own pizza. The guy behind the counter told us about the lunch special for $5 so we got half a pizza and a drink. Not as many healthy toppings as I would've liked. The crust was alright. If I compare it to Pieology I prefer Pieology. They also had salads as well. The ambience was rustic and the noise level quiet. First off ... I am not a Karen. I was calm & quiet. Young man working the register, little tip. Read people's orders back to them. I walked up and told the guy I wanted 4 pizzas. He said " ok, name on the order". After each pizza he says "will that be it"? Sir ... I said 4 pizzas. If you listened to people speak you would know after the 4th we'd be done. I had seen my gluten pizza on the screen and I believe he accidentally deleted it but, I didn't catch it. I slide down to where they build your pizzas and I only counted 3. The young lady says "all done ma'am". I told her I still had another pizza and she told me "no you don't". Unprofessional from the beginning. I had to go back in front of literally 15 people waiting in line for him to correct his mistake. Never once did I raise my voice but, firmly said "I told you 4 pizzas sir, you seemed like you didn't care to listen to me". The line was not bad at all, it was looped through the door to the outside walk way. The waited was like about 30 mins by the time I got to the order counter. I was satisfied on my Build My Own Pizza and I love this option because I can always choose all my favorite toppings. Normally I love this place and would rate it higher, but a recent experience has me a bit perplexed. They make great pizzas here and I love the variation in toppings offered and the way they cook the pizzas. I usually go place my order in person, but recently I put in an online order for pickup. My pizza was supposed to have several toppings on it, but somehow I ended up with a plain cheese pizza. The receipt on the box showed my name with the correct order I placed, so I didn't think to check it. I got all the way home, ready to dig in, only to find a plain cheese pizza. I immediately called to let them know and they said they would remake it and I can bring the cheese one back. So back I go. It wasn't quite ready when I arrived so I waited a few minutes for them to finish it up. They were apologetic and provided the right order the second time around, but I was surprised they didn't offer anything for my trouble. No drink while I waited, no coupon for a future order, nothing. Maybe if I were more upset they would have done more, idk. I had calmly approached the situation politely, despite my frustration. No sense making the situation any worse, though it makes me wonder if I would have received better customer service if I expressed more frustration. My husband walked a mile in each direction to pick up our order (parking is non-existent, so this was just easier).
