Service is almost always very slow during peak times where sometimes a few employees behind the counter idly chat while the line gets longer and longer and orders get piled up. Social distancing is enforced and all employees wore masks and gloves. I love a lot of toppings, and I love that they don't charge extra for most toppings! I loaded my pizza up with cream sauce, spinach, arugala, bacon, red onion, and roasted garlic! Yum! Making your own pizza definitely beats choosing a premade one, because you know what you like! A personal pizza is the perfect size, and I liked their outdoor seating. They also have keto and diet friendly options, so my keto friend enjoyed her keto crust! This spot easily beats many chain pizza restaurants. I ordered for take out (the restaurant was pretty busy at the time) and the service was good and fast. Blaze is one of the few chain restaurants that don't charge extra for various crust options like the cauliflower crust and extra meat toppings. I personally get the original crust with classic red sauce. The build your own pizza was incredibly worth it. I loaded my pizza with vegetables, sauces, and meat including chorizo, grilled chicken, spinach, and so much more. They have so many options to choose from. You can even add arugula after the pizza is done. In addition, the build your own pizza is the perfect size for an individual as the crust is thin (perfect crust to toppings ratio) on the original pizza (not the large build your own). I like this place, I'm a fan of their concept and quality. Pizzas, salads and s'mores are seriously good. For that, they deserve 5 stars. But they lack cleanliness. It's my second visit this month and their lack of cleaning is appalling. This is a manager's fault, whoever runs this place is not paying attention in what the costumers see on the other side of the counter. Dust, grease, ingredients are always scattered. The napkins/drink sections has not seen a a clean cloth in months. I don't understand how they can refill napkins and not wipe the container. Customizable pizza that's made right in front of you, where can you go wrong here? For ~$9 you can customize a pizza to your liking and they have a lot of toppings to choose from. The restaurant itself is pretty large but that being said it can get pretty crowded during the peak times. By the time we got our food the line was wrapped around half of the store so it was good we came right before the dinner rush. One down side that I saw was the one person restroom that had at least a three person line formed outside of it... at least on the female end. It's kind of annoying when you just want to wash your hands. Also, with so many people coming and going there isn't much time for them to clean the tables so you kind of have to clean up after yourself or else the next patrons have to do it when they try to find a table. The food itself was piping hot and made to order (duh) and if there's anything wrong with the toppings it would mainly be your own fault since you picked them. The portions are also a good size so if you aren't starved then there are togo boxes by the trash bins. So if you're in the mood for a made to order pizza I'd definitely recommend Blaze. read more

I ordered curbside pickup at the store in Knoxville, TN at 10978 Parkside Drive. When I arrived, I called the number on the curbside pickup sign. No one answered the phone. After 40 minutes PAST the time my pizza waw supposed to be ready for pickup, I was finally able to get the attention of someone going inside and I had them relay my message that I was trying to pick up my pizza. I ordered 2/11 inch build your own pizzas with gluten free crust. By the time I finally got them it was 50 minutes late and they were cold and soggy. Had I not already paid for them when I ordered them through the app, I would have given them back once they were brought out. If they are going to have curbside service in their app and parking spots for parking to pick up your curbside order, then they need to answer their phone. As a former regular, mediocre has fallen to intolerable. Service has gradually lost all care. My latest visit on the evening of 5/28, all the staff disappeared behind the kitchen, leaving all the pizzas in the oven and bar unattended. We were already in a rush and received one pizza- which continued to get cold as the incompetent kid in charge of the oven leisured his way back to it. He took our remaining pizza out to the cooling rack and fiddled with miscellaneous bottles, organizing(?) and wiping the counter at snails pace- all while we stood in front of him waiting to receive the finished pizza. I cannot undercut how lazy the staff here are. The food I received was underbaked, leading to a soggy mess all the toppings slid off of. Service was otherwise good, fast and easy during rush hour lunch. Now, onto the taste, I got one of the pre-set pizzas and made some alterations. We had a team lunch for work this past Thursday and decided on Blaze pizza. I was excited that they had vegan options but honestly didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have vegan cheese but they also had vegan chorizo! I got classic sauce, vegan cheese, vegan chorizo, mushrooms, jalapeños, spinach, chopped garlic and oregano. We enjoyed this build your own pizza place. You get a really good sized pizza for the price. I actually split it with my mom. You can pile on whatever toppings you want with whatever sauce and they bake it fresh! They have a good variety of toppings, including broccoli (one of my favorite and also most odd pizza toppings!). I don't think they have a whole wheat crust. Not sure on gluten free... The staff was friendly! The drink station needed some tlc (cleaning/restocking). They did restock when requested. Hello Blaze!!! Welcome to Texas!!! That's right this is the first location to open in the state of Texas. And if things work out, it won't be the last location. As I said in another Blaze review, this is where pizza meets Chipotle. As we know, Subway started the 'build your own' meal craze but Chipotle receives all the credit. Blaze uses this same approach for building your own pizza. With the exception of the crust (there is a gluten-free crust available) , every other ingredient is selected by the customer. From the sauce to the seasoning the choice is yours. They have all fresh ingredients and with the 'build your own' pizza you select as many (or few) as you want. For the unadventurous they do have signature pizzas available. I've never tried one but I've heard they are delicious (the Green Stripe was recommended to me by a true Blaze connoisseur). The staff at this location are super friendly. And I think they were impressed that this was not my first Blaze visit. While it was my visit to this location I'm a Blaze veteran. Like at other locations I've visited, the staff was very patient as I went down the line choosing my toppings. As with the other location I've visited, once the pizza is built it is put into a blazing fire oven and 180 seconds later your name is called to pick up your pizza. Compared to the other location I've visited, this one is huge. The dining area here is large and spacious. Heck, the dining area of the other location I've visited could probably fit into this one 5 times over. Seriously, it's that big. As we know though; "Everything is Bigger in Texas". I was impressed when one of the staff members approached me as I was eating my pizza and asked if the pizza here matched up to my previous experiences. As I told him, they did a great job; no complaints from me. Just as I've come to expect, amazing flavor and extreme freshness. So let's go good people of the Dallas/Ft. I've been wanting to try this place forever. I love Pie Five, mostly because I like piling whatever I want on a pizza and paying one price. This is very similar but there are some pros and cons when comparing the two. Pros: more toppings. Things like kalamata olives, artichokes, vegan cheese and chorizo just to name a few. I saw a few cheeses (I'm a cheese junkie) like gorgonzola that I don't see at Pie Five. The meats here are just better quality. Applewood smoked bacon and meatballs here are good. Pizza here is bigger: two folks could easily share one in my opinion. It's probably two inches at least bigger around. It's cooked in a wood fired oven; unlike the conveyor belt style I'm used to, this is cooked right in front of you in an actual old school pizza oven, which the Manchild loves because he says it makes the crust taste better. No up sell on salads/desserts: it drives me nuts at Pie Five when I just want a pizza and they try to sell me everything else. There's salads prepackaged here if you want one, and one dessert, but no hard sell. Cons: crust. I prefer a really thin crust, and here you get three choices: standard, a thicker one, and gluten free. The standard is pretty close to thin, but for my Manchild loving pan pizza guy, he misses that option that's offered at Pie Five. We saw the fluffier version and while it's thicker, it's not pan pizza. Very small thing, but worth noting. Price: At last check, Pie Five offers their pizza for 6.99 and here it's 7.99. It was 22 and change for 2 pizzas and two drinks. Herbs: one of my favorite toppings is cilantro. It just goes on my BBQ pizzas. They don't have it here, but they do have basil fresh and dried oregano. I wish they offered a few more fresh ones. The drink machine: it's stupid, but Pie Five has one of those touch screen drink machines. I love them lol. Here you do get Coke products though, but regular machine. It's super loud in there mostly because of the music. All in all, really loved it and will be back. Don't forget to use your Yelp check in to get a free drink! read more
