I was frustrated , but yet I was still trying to be patience because it was not the fault of the workers. It was absolutely disappointing on how our service was handled. We ordered two pizzas and they were ready for us within a reasonable time frame. But after noticing that the crusts and bottom of both pizzas were burned in patches all over, we asked the employees to remake them for us. Long story short they remade one and forgot about the other, and when we finally had to remind them, they promptly burned the second pizza even worse than the first time around. One of the employees was very rude in his response of "What do you want me to do," when we asked them how we were supposed to consume that. Almost one hour in and we weren't about to wait another thirty minutes for them to remake our second pizza for the third time, so we asked for a refund. The manager gave us seven dollars for a pizza that costed $7.95, and this was before tax. We had to go as far as to show her our previous receipt just so we could get the correct amount of money back. Never have we had service as atrocious as this. We never even recieved one apology. For a restaurant that has just opened, it is unacceptable if you don't have basic etiquette when a customer legitimately complains about the quality of the food. read more

In the description of Blaze it says fast and efficient service. This is ironic because they have the most disorganized service I have ever seen. I was disappointed because this location was getting better, but I would have to say that the service is going back downhill. Normally Blaze and I get along quite well. Today was different. It wasn't the pre-ordered pizzas that weren't ready on time. (20 minutes late. Arrived at 1:30 for an order I placed at 12:30ish) It wasn't the mix up with which pizza was actually mine (I was asked to identify my pizza like a next of kin at the morgue). Instead, this about the lack of respect for a paying customer. Bottom line, 4 employees telling you that your order isn't ready because it's busy is a cop-out. If you start a sentence with "Not to make excuses but..." Then you're doing it wrong. There are no excuses. Stop making them and stop getting defensive because you made multiple errors. Until I asked to be compensated, there was an attitude of disregard for the situation and quite an unapologetic tone. Yes, you gave me a free pizza coupon, but it doesn't change the fact that this franchisee doesn't know how their app works and doesn't know how to keep up with demand when the heat is on. Stopped for pizza before going to work... as I'm paying I hear the guy putting the pizza in the oven say OOPS he flipped the pizza no big deal. Waited about 10 minutes before they called my name they had my pizza boxed up didn't give me a chance to request a finisher... I did anyways... as I was walking away I decided to add Parm cheese to the pizza since they didn't offer to go packers... I opened the box and it was the wrong pizza w the correct order form. I let them know and they asked if the next pizza was mine (I ordered 1 top pepperoni w spicy red sauce) how am I suppose to know which pizza was mine if you can't keep track of it, I took a bite and nope it was not my pizza. Got there right when it opened. Only 1 gentleman ahead of me. Server looked fairly new, placed my garlic knots in oven without telling anyone. Then proceeded to work on my pizza. Never fails every time I come here they are always burning someone's garlic knot and it turned out to be mine. Meanwhile my pizzas done and cooked and now they have to cook the garlic knots again. Total time waiting 25mins. Then getting home my pizza is cold and my garlic knots are hot go figure. I think they need a better system on cooking these knots or knot serve them at all. This is a bit late, but I didn't forget. I went in on Christmas Eve to grab a quick bite after our somewhat small Christmas feast, and I couldn't believe they were open. Not only were they open, but the service here was exemplary. Everyone was incredibly positive, helpful, and hardworking. Erin (I think that's his name) was soooo helpful and sweet. Not a bad looking guy either. He deserves a raise; everyone that worked here this specific night, too, for that matter. I have never been so disappointed in a Blaze Pizza establishment ever. I frequently eat Blaze once a week usually at the location near Urth Cafe or the one in Alhambra. However, this location was on my way home. I first told them I wanted a build you own pizza and my friend and I waited for a good five minutes while they continued to write down people's names and press down dough. As we continued down the assembly line, I told the woman who was not very friend and looked like she hated life that I wanted vegan cheese. She then angrily groaned about having to change her glove, but then realized that her glove was clean. My pizza moved on to another lady while my friend requested "wet cheese" and then the same lady ridiculed him and said YOU MEAN OVOLINI. Meanwhile, the worker putting on vegetables was not as angry as the first lady, however, she was still very uncooperative. I had to ask her to put artichoke hearts on my pizza three times. Continuing on, I paid and waited near the oven for my pizza. The worker then took out my pizza and then didn't ask if I wanted an toppings and barely acknowledged me. Then I asked for arugula and sauce and he gave it to me. I didn't find out until later that my pizza was not even cut. I've been to Blaze probably over 50 times, and never has there been an incident where my pizza was not cut. This is when I decided that I need to write a yelp review because usually I don't for chains. However, I want to advise everyone else to just avoid this Blaze Pizza location. I'm not usually one to award 5 stars to a chain restaurant but given its tasty and fresh food, including side salads, interesting self serve drinks, and even wine and beer on tap, inexpensive pricing, clean and open air setting, and friendly service, can't hate. (And can we justify since it's actually a local chain, started here in the SGV by the founders of wetzel's pretzels?) Some of my recommended toppings include the garlic and spices sauce as a base, spicy red sauce if you're not splitting with kids (since it does have some kick), the goat cheese and fresh mozzarella, and the roasted garlic. I usually load my pizzas up to the brim with stuff and there's never any staff judgement either way (I've also seen folks order literally crust plus onions...?). They also have a free app and send out pretty decent awards including BOGOs and there's almost always a local fundraiser so be prepared for long lines and see if you can find out which group is raising money when you're there so you can help a good cause too. read more

I waited an hour for a pickup order one time when it was really busy I never complained but when I try to pick up an order I get yelled at because I came to close I was trying to show them the order like relax. Came here today for lunch and had an unpleasant experience the girl who took my sisters order was really nice her name was Lily, but the person who took my order was extremely serious the whole time, had an air pod in his ear and was rude. My sister asked for specific prices on the menu and he just stared at her and didn't even answer her. My pizza looked messy,which I usually don't mind but since the person making it was not nice it bothered me. I was sad to find out that his name was Junior and which apparently is the owner of this establishment. I highly doubt I will visit this place again. I was so excited to come into blaze on opening day!! I've been driving by each day and watching in anticipation. The new building looks beautiful and the service was outstanding. They were very accommodating with me since I'm vegan. The fact that they were so fast was so impressive, even though it was so busy. I eat at this blaze location frequently. My family enjoys the pizza and the build your own is a great value. I can only eat half and my daughter enjoys the remaining half. Staff really load up the pizza at my request. I've managed to figure out the non-peak times. Parking is easy, lines are short (at least when I go) and the thin crust means it is very quick. I think we're eating fairly healthy. Not too much cheese and we get lots of our favorite veggies and hopefully meats that aren't too salty or rich. read more

I've always loved blaze. Great pizza, always on point. However, my experience on Friday evening (09/ 25/ 20) wasn't the best. We ordered a few pizzas. The original sauce was almost gone and instead of getting a fresh batch, the guy was literally scraping the container to get every drop of sauce left to put on our pizzas. Really? Needless to say our pizzas didn't taste up to par. Not sure if something was missing from the sauce or what but the taste/ flavor was definitely off. Also, I would think that they would have an employee periodically wipe down the tables outside and clean up a bit. It was dirty. I had to clean my table myself with wipes. There should be a cleaning schedule or some type of cleaning protocol especially during these times. They certainly seem to have the staff. this place has a great location and is always a good and reliable option for pizza. its modern twist on the dish allows you to build your own pizza to your own liking which is really cool. they also do fundraisers which are really cool for the high school community in the area. there is a wide variety of ingredients, but i believe that they have just enough for it to be a good balance where there are too many and it takes away from the integrity and taste of the food. personally, i really like the build your own with a bunch of meats and some vegetables. they also have some good desserts and the pizza is always fresh out of the firewood oven which i personally find really cool. the dining space is pretty accommodating and open and its always convenient to take to go . really love the place! read more

Im so excited to have this location in my neighborhood. I am a huge fan of pizza and not a very big fan of the other local pizza places that around. Blaze pizza offers fresh and healthier options for me to choose from. This location was very clean throughout the seating area, trash cans, the kitchen prep area, and even the bathrooms were super clean and smelled fresh! Customer service was very friendly and helpful answering any questions I had. Pizza took a little longer than others, but i expected it being my ingredients picked take a little longer to cook..but it was cooked to perfection. My only suggestion is that when selling alcohol..I would have my employees ID the person actually drinking the alcohol and not the person paying for the order. Ex: I had forgotten my ID in car(note: I'm 40 years old)..was willing to go get it but the employee said to my friend whom was paying "Its okay as long the camera see's i checked(checked his ID, not mine) then you're good. Putting myself in a manager/owners position that would not be okay with me for the simple fact what if i hadn't been of age...you could lose your license and that wouldn't be good. I actually really like their pizza. But this place is consistently awful. Employees are rude most of the time, they mess up our pizzas that aren't complicated at all. I work fast food business and this place is not efficient AT ALL. I get that the concept of make your own pizza is a great one, but the way they implement it is absolutely terrible. Waited almost 20 minutes to get the pizza that they messed up (after waiting 30 minutes in line just to order). Manager has their kid here and even got their pizza before us. Seems like paying customers aren't much of a priority. Alhambra one is much better. Even yet, Pizza Press is the best. Will probably just go there more often even if it's more of a drive. read more

My wife and I ate here for the first time a few months ago not too long after it opened. We were disappointed like a previous reviewer here on Yelp posted regarding employees and service. We have been back several times because it is convenient, but recently we noticed the manager had changed and the whole demeanor of the place was so much nicer! The new manager, her name is Lily, has DEFINITELY made the difference!! Waiting in line to place your "build your own" custom pizza order is much quicker than before!! This has been my worst experience ever at a Blaze Pizza. I go to blaze all the time and decided to uber eat it. I needed to make a adjustment to my order, when I called the first time the girl answered the phone and said nothing then continued to be rude after I finally talked to her. She said my order wasn't in so I called back in 10 min. I called for 8 min straight and never got through, they even answered the phone at one point and hung right back up. When I did finally get ahold of her she answered and said "yes!" Not hello this is blaze or how may I help you but just yes with attitude and continued to have attitude on the phone.
