I'll give this FOUR STARS for the quality of the pizza, but ONE STAR for lack of cleanliness and care, and for lack of logic. The pizzas from Blaze are very good. Enough said. The rest is pretty sloppy, however. The latest was finding a long black hair in my pizza. No one in my family has black hair. For that, most people would never return, but people make mistakes, someone forgot to put their hair net on, and I'll still by their pizzas. However, if it happens again, I am gone, gone, gone. Also the windows on this place are constantly dirty, the tables aren't cleaned up, and the place just looks like no one cares. You MUST CLEAN a restaurant constantly, not just once or twice a day. Come on, people, figure this out. The "lack of logic" refers to the following: I walked in to pick up a pizza, using the side door off the parking lot as I always do. My pizza is in a box on the shelves and it has my name on it. So I pick it up and turn to leave. I take a few steps toward the door I just entered and wave "thank you" at a young woman . . . who tells me to stop. "Does she think I'm a thief?" I wonder. \ No, she tells me I'm not supposed to come in the side door. That door was open, and I've always used it, so I must have made a mistake. I wait to see what my punishment is going to be. She directs me to leave by the much longer route out the front door. Okay, except it's barred by a long strip of "police tape". She lifts up the tape and points me out that door. No "thanks" or "I'm sorry." Talk about lack of normal social graces. Here's how you do it, darlin': "Oh, I'm sorry, that door's supposed to be locked. Can I get you to exit from the other door in the front? Thanks very much!" A little lesson in ordinary social skills will make a business succeed. read more

One star is 10 too many. I'd give them a negative 10. What happened to this place?.This is probably the 10th time that I've been here. I love Blaze pizza is my favorite pizza. I like that they're open late also. I have a good friend who lives in South Pasadena. We often meet here and it's kind of our place that we go to and we talk. Tonight was absolutely horrible. Half of the ingredients I asked for were not on the pizza but mostly the customer service was so rude. As we were leaving my friend needed to use the restroom. She asked employee who is sitting down if the bathrooms were open. She said to her" I am off the clock I don't have to tell you." They took no care in making the pizza. Today was just a really bad unpleasant experience. And even though it's close by this is the last time will be coming to this place. There are 4 other pizza places in Pasadena that we could choose from. Or we will just go up to the El Molino store. We have always had excellent customer service. So Blaze... get it togetherness come and watch and retrain these people before you lose this store because you've just lost us. read more

I ordered online for me and my girlfriend. One of the pizzas was fine but the other pizza was missing almost all of the toppings that we requested. The sticker on the pizza box told us that we had picked up the right pizza- it even listed all of the toppings we requested. But the pizza was totally off. Very tough because we didn't notice until we got home. Plus, the pizza with extra toppings costs a lot more than the simple pizza that they gave us. Disappointed read more

I tried really hard to ignore needing to write this review, but unfortunately this is the second time that an online order has been over 30 minutes without even a courtesy call from the restaurant. I placed an online order yesterday for an office meeting before they were even open with a requested delivery of 11:45 am. Well, 11:45 came and went and my staff still did not have their lunch. Blaze website CLEARLY states if there's a problem with a delivery to call the restaurant directly; which I did, but what do you know they DO NOT ANSWER their phones!! How convenient is that!! Since I was not able to get ahold of Blaze we had no choice to wait for our god to arrive. I had an office of 8 employees whom were waiting. Our food finally arrived at 12:35!! I kindly asked the Door Dash driver if she was running late. She was not she provided me with her arrival time at Blaze of 11:30, but was told our order wasn't ready due to other online orders!! I understand you're a busy establishment, but it's distasteful and bad business not to reach out and inform your customers that you cannot meet a delivery time. BAD BUSINESS!! read more

How hard is it to love a new pizza place? Very, when you're made to wait 25 minutes to pick up an online order in store and the manager is unapologetic, uncommunicative and overall not that helpful. The staff was clearly overwhelmed and one guy did say sorry, a couple people didn't show up today, but I'm not sure that's a great excuse for burning both my pizzas. This was nowhere near an ideal experience. The pizza toppings are good but with so many other more reliable options nearby I wouldn't recommend Blaze. read more

Blaze pizza is always my go to when I want a decent pizza. But this review is for the staff. I was ready to pay as my pizza came out of the oven but I had to wait for the cashier to serve his homies first. I didn't mind that since they were before me so I had to wait but my issue is that after he took his time to serve them, he went up to my pizza and gave it a twirl then put it back down and went to the back to chat with his coworkers. He even looked me straight in the eye knowing I was next and ready. He never came back and his buddy cleaning the oven had to ring me up. I'm usually looking for healthy food and good ingredients in a pizza, and given the advertising I saw it looked like Blaze was quite artisanal and quality-made. We only come to this location when we just don't have the time to go up further to the other locations . We ordered two build your own. We got one right and one back that was not ours. Now true it's 6:45 on a Friday so it's busy BUT they've got it wrong before and it was not busy that time. I love Blaze pizza, it's fresh and made to order. That being said this particular location SUCKS. The employees don't look at you when they ask what you want. They talk to other employees about when their shift will "finally" end. They talk about plans they have and about other employees they make fun of. Meanwhile, I'm trying get my pizza made. I have an Onion allergy. So I love that I get to pick what I want on my pizza . So this location has the messiest counter of items. There was every type of cheese all over, drips of sauce , basil in the onions, bacon bits all over. Very unkept and VERY easy for CROSS CONTAMINATION. So, we get our pizzas. Mine was right but husbands was someone else's order, took another 10 mins to get the right pizza. Now we start to eat and I eat two slices and start to feel weird. I stop eating and just drink my beverage. My tummy starts to feel like it does when I eat onion. My pizza has no onions on it but since these employees do not change their gloves between making pizzas, AND all their ingredients are cross contaminated by being unkept. I'm not surprised that now my stomach is in pain. I only ate two slices , threw away the rest. We had to leave immediately because I started to have the first reaction which is painful burps and stomach cramps. Basically my Friday night is F#%*ED because this place can't keep their ingredients in order. Food allergies are no joke. I won't die but I've been hospitalized for it before. I decided to write this because I know someone else might have a severe food allergy and you should know that you might get sick here. We will not be coming back to this location. Blaze Pizza is good but this location is just DUMB. The place only employs teenagers and there is not an adult or manager in sight. I've never gotten a pizza made in less than 20 minutes, even when there is no line. I'm standing in line right now as the employees have made one of my four pizzas, only to all congregate around making a small salad (for a to go order?), because the girl making that apparently cannot figure out how to apply the dressing from a squeeze bottle. There are THREE of them on this one salad right now as my other three pizza crusts sit there longing for attention. The pizza is fine (how hard is it to make an assembly line pizza), but the service is nonexistent. If you wanna grab a quick dinner sans frustration, go somewhere else. read more

My absolute favorite Blaze Pizza location. Definitely tops the Alhambra or Old Town Pasadena location. The customer service puts this So. Pas location over-the-top. Edwin and Steve are excellent employees! They are always determined to deliver strong customer satisfaction, as well as perfect pizza. They build close relationships with regular customers, and you will never see them without a smile on their face! I went to Blaze on monday night, and Steve was the only worker to quickly deliver my pizza. As for the pizza, its pretty alright. The dough is somewhat mediocre, so it really depends on what toppings and sauce you get to make a good pizza. Also, the aguas frescas are a complete disgrace. They taste as if they've been dramatically flavored with out-of-date artificial syrups and preservatives, so stick to soda or lemonade. But aye the brownies are good :) read more

I ordered the gluten free crust. They are a test kitchen so I got to try the replacement crust they plan on rolling out to all stores. All I can say is - PLEASE DON'T. I drive 15 mins further to get your gluten free crust. Pizza Studio has a cauliflower that is much better. Please don't switch crusts to save a minute in line. Bad online order customer service. They concentrate on walk in customers and ignore online orders. This is a cause of bad management. After I arrived, I waited nearly 20 minutes before I asked the girl what was happening. In the meantime, walk in customers were coming and going. A woman who was waiting next to me told me they said her order, one pizza, would be ready for pickup at 12:30. She told me that a little after one after she heard me speak up. I've been going to blaze for some time now and always enjoy their pizzas but for some reason every time at this location they seem to mess up something. Why? My pizza stood there for more than 5 mins as others looked at it and almost touch it. Little did I know that it had someone else's name attached to it. I had no idea it was mine. I can slightly understand if there was a line out the door and it's rush hour but not with two to three people in line. No pressure at all. Mostly everyone here seems distracted for some reason as they work. Not everyone though. My family and I really like the pizza at Blaze but this location was severely understaffed tonight and some of the staff were completely unmotivated to correct frustrating mistakes. Online orders constantly took precedent over in store customers and it took nearly 15-20 minutes to order when there were only 6 people in front of us. After ordering, we waited at least another 15-20 minutes in line to pay since the man at the register was also the same person distributing the pizzas to customers. I probably stood directly in front of the register for a solid 10 minutes waiting to pay. Orders were getting mixed up and pizzas were getting cold. Our pizzas were coming out and waiting on the tray while I was still waiting to pay. I watched the man handoff what looked like my pizza (with extra shredded mozz on top) to another customer, and when he realized mine was missing, he offered to give me the other customer's pizza and reheat it with extra mozzarella. I was pretty shocked and surprised he wouldn't just offer to order a fresh pizza. When another employee finally stepped up to help at the register, she had just put in two orders of garlic dough knots in the oven. I asked her why she told me they were sold out 30 minutes ago when I tried to order them. She said she just made them for an online order and asked if I wanted to wait for more. Nope! We had definitely waited long enough tonight. I literally watched her throw away the dough knots on display behind the counter when she first told me that the customers in front of me ordered the last ones. She didn't seem to care that that was frustrating for us. It was an poor experience for myself and several other disgruntled customers who were in line, at the register, and at the pick up counter tonight. Not sure who was managing but there's a lot of room for improvement here. Rarely do I leave reviews, but it was just such a poor experience that it felt necessary to leave feedback. read more

My family ordered 30 pepperoni and cheese pizzas online a couple hours before lunch for a birthday party. The pizzas were ready on time and the staff even carried the pizzas to my car. They also separated the pizza boxes, so that I knew which pizzas were where. Great service! read more
