Got hungry right before I went to the gym and I decided to stop by this spot. Small spot next to a movie theater with coffee, tea, and food. I got the tuna avocado bowl (I think that's what it was called). It has tuna, corn, cabbage, sprouts, bits of bacon, and egg. Delicious actually! One down side is that it's a small portion for $13. Didn't get any drinks but I'm interested in trying something. Parking is easy. read more

Sea salt cold brew seems to be to go-to drink for both the people in front of me, the ones before them, and the ones after me. Tried a lot of the other drinks before and this for the cold brew for the first time. Doesn't disappoint. Consistently good but still lacks something that keeps me from craving it. read more

Came here around 9am on a weekday and I was able to find seating right away! It got pretty busy around 10am but had an hour of silence before the rush. There were around 3 baristas/cooks in the store and everyone was friendly. The store is pretty small and cute. It's in the corner of a variety of different stores and a movie theater. There aren't too many seatings, especially ones with an outlet, so I would definitely recommend coming early if you want to work on things. There are also plenty of outdoor seating in the plaza so not to worry if you are here with a friend! I ordered the black Vietnamese coffee. I needed something strong so I decided to try it. It was definitely what I needed to stay WOKE during my study grind here. I stayed for about 2.5 hours and felt very productive. I've also tried the non-black Vietnamese coffee and it's pretty good as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here for your coffee fix! They're well-versed with the Vietnamese coffee world and have a lot of selections based on this. One thing that was *kinda* annoying was when this woman started speaking very loudly on the phone with her friends inside the store. I wish that I didn't have to hear most of what she talked about haha. But I love coming here to study and sip on coffee so I'm excited to be back -- either for study grind or catching up with friends outside! read more

Let me tell you! If you need energy and be woken up real quick. Get the LVTM (light Vietnamese coffee), you don't even need the VTM! I've been here several times and I got their regular LVTM, blended LVTM, Thai tea and Lychee Peach Black Tea. All really good! read more

Very good coffees, great selection of drinks. Similar prices to most other coffee shops. They are very fast with their service, so it beats Starbucks on that. Highly recommend if in the area, try the mojito if you don't like coffee. And no it doesn't have alcohol. read more

Conveniently located at The Marketplace next to the movie theatre is BLKDot! Since moving back to Orange County, this has quickly become my go to work spot. They have an extensive drink and food menu, but my absolute favorite is the LVTM - light Vietnamese coffee. I recommend trying this if you enjoy traditional Vietnamese coffee, but really don't want the headache from too much caffeine or sugar. My favorite food items are the CAB, avocado toast, or a good ole butter croissant. Docked off a star because prices have increased and I know not everyone wants to shell out almost $6 for a small iced coffee. Also, the wait times can get pretty wild since they work with most if not all major delivery services. Just something to keep in mind if you plan to visit during peak times! read more

Ive been here multiple times since i live pretty close. I always get the matcha vietnamese coffee. I came recently and placed my order. I asked for large matcha vietnamese coffee with oat milk and no added sugar. Since i was sharing the drink with my husband who's lactose, i made sure to tell the cashier to sub the milk alternative. When we got our drink, my husband took a sip and said it tasted funny. I took a sip and i was like yeah this isnt oat milk. I asked the girl that made my drink and she was super rude. She said its regular milk and i told her I specifically asked for oat milk. She scoffed at me and said fine ill make you another one. I have never experienced such service in my life. They were the one that got our drink wrong and the audacity to give that attitude. Nonetheless my husband had bad diarrhea the rest of the day. Its one thing if they're sorry about it but they werent. We will not be coming back due to poor customer service. read more

Conveniently located in Tustin Marketplace right in front of the theater. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside with outlets inside. Service was excellent and price was reasonable. All in all a good spot that's family and dog friendly. read more

Friendly service. A really nice space to get work done in. It wasn't too crowded when I went in. The drinks were made very quickly. Nothing super special but if you are a fan of intense coffee flavor, black dot is for you. I loved the peppermint mocha and wish that it was more than a seasonal flavor. Blk Dot Coffee is located in a shopping complex called The Market Place in Tustin. You can order pickup and delivery online and through various platforms. There's wifi and plugs around the store. There's a decent amount of single tables available, communal seating around a large table, and also seating outside The place gets loud when it's busy so it's not the most conducive to studying. Their menu is really extensive and features a ton of items including food. Their Vietnamese Coffee is one of their most popular items albeit it has a ton of caffeine so beware if you're caffeine-sensitive. They also have a lighter version of it. I was a big fan of the Vietnamese Coffee. It had a really strong flavor to it and wasn't overly sweet. The downside is that it's pretty expensive and after tip I'm paying around $7 for a drink. TLDR: Their must-try is their Vietnamese coffee. It's full of flavor and hits the spot, but their coffee is on the expensive side. read more

I came by here before and wanted to try it out again. I decided to try the VTMatcha this time since I was craving some matcha and coffee. I ordered it with oat milk instead of regular milk and it was amazing! The vietnamese coffee definitely overpowered the matcha flavor but I still taste a bit of the matcha when I drank it. It was also perfectly sweet and it is definitely something I would get again. I love how they offer a variety of different coffee/tea drinks. It is a nice spot to study and do some work in the cafe or even get your coffee fix! read more

This is one of the few places that's open early in the morning around here. There's a good selection of drinks and some food here for a shop, but the items sure are pricey for the portion sizes! The iced exotic passion green tea I ordered was a large, and I thought they gave me a medium by mistake as it was quite small (it wasn't a mistake). As a note, it seems they don't allow for small customizations on the drinks and food - at least for my orders (for example: asked for no sour cream for the Brekkie bowl and was told no...but as can be seen in the photo, it was just added on top...could it not be added?) read more

I come to Irvine Spectrum at least once a month or so. Discovered this coffee shop just by simply walking around. This is on one of the furthest ends of the shopping area by the target/Apple Store. Not much to say. It's always crowded on the weekends, but the line moves pretty fast. I honestly have only had two things on their menu even though they have plenty of other coffee options and a few food options as well. If I'm here in the morning hours, I have their regular coffee. But what I really like to do is come here in the afternoons for their version of an iced Vietnamese coffee. One of the best Vietnamese iced coffees that I've ever had. Give it a try! read more

Listen. I don't know what kind of espresso they use, but I had a latte on a Sunday morning and I was buzzing all day. Probably the most productive Sunday I've had in a long time. I ordered the Brown Sugar Latte and I loved it. It had just enough sweetness without tasting like caffeinated sugar. The team there was great and my friend ordered an avocado toast that looked really good. I haven't tried their food yet, but this might be my new favorite local coffee spot. read more

BLK Dot is a really nice coffee shop located at the Market Place. They have a great menu with a variety of food, teas, and coffee options to choose from. I love their classic avocado toast. Their bread is usually a thick and perfectly toasted slice of sourdough topped with thinly sliced avocado. It's always seasoned just right too. Although I've never tried their coffee, there are a lot of drinks on their menu that I really want to try. The have quite a few iced coffees and a matcha hot tea that sounds so good. The inside is spacious with tables and outlets. The baristas are always friendly. read more

Service and operations need to be improved. Just because I ordered a hot coffee doesn't mean you fulfill the orders of the 5 customers that came after me. I understand that they ordered iced coffee but the general protocol is you fulfill the order of the customer who ordered first. I've been trying to incorporate more sugar free syrups into my coffee orders, and today when I ordered my latte I asked if the sf syrups had an aftertaste (of which I wanted to avoid.) The barista said she wasn't sure, as she'd never tried the sf syrups. I said that it was totally understandable, and I gave it a shot. An iced latte with one pump hazelnut and one pump sugar free vanilla, and with nonfat milk. The espresso tasted too light for my liking and the syrup *definitely* had a distasteful aftertaste. I mustered up the courage to voice my disinterest and try, what I thought would be, a drink with a stronger coffee flavor to it, and a different syrup flavor since the sugar free syrup was lingering. An iced americano with caramel flavoring and a splash of milk. With my experience at other coffeeshops, the espresso normally is prominent when ordered as an iced americano. I can't say that was my experience when ordered here. To my surprise, I can sadly say it tasted like lukewarm water with a drop of coffee and a splash of milk. I threw it out and was sad that I didn't end up with a coffee that I loved. $6.45 for a disappointing and saddening experience. I normally look forward to coffeeshop stops, and trying new places, but I was not pleased by my experience here. With the coffee situation, the lack of indoor seating, and with the lack of kindness in attitude from staff. If you're going to order, the Vietnamese coffee is good, but I only had a couple of sips since it's high in sugar and caffeine. read more

I ordered the iced VTmatcha but I have to say I'm a little disappointed, the Vietnamese coffee completely overpowered the delicate flavors of matcha. I couldn't taste much of the matcha. However, I really like the cafe itself, its decorated simply and is a great place to get some work done. I probably wouldn't order the VTmatcha again though. read more

i've been here several times and i would recommend trying the vtm. its super strong but i prefer it much more than the lvtm. i would skip out on the matcha einspanner, it was super sweet and the matcha wasn't strong in my opinion. a lot of their locations are good study spots, i particularly like the one at the newport bluffs. read more

Ordered a large drip, with cream - this was measurably the worst cup of coffee I ever had for 4.50 in a cup that is tiny... I've had instant with more flavor, and God, do I wish I was kidding. It was bland, watery, slightly acidic, with a ln overall nothing flavor... Never coming back. You should be ashamed to charge 4 dollars plus for this... read more

Went on a weekend morning. Not too many people - there are a few tables for dine in so I grabbed one to work and study for the morning. I asked for the staff's recommendation and ordered a Light Vietnamese Coffee aiming for a mild caffeine kick. As a non coffee drinker, it was still really strong for me, it kept me awake and focused for over 8 hours so it really worked lol but I wonder how the regular Vietnamese Coffee would be like. Vietnamese coffee has a unique taste compares to other regular coffee. I believe they used sweetened condensed milk which makes the taste distinctive. Overall great study spot (but may not be able to get a table easily especially during lunch time), friendly staff and have unique menu items that I'd be down to try next time! read more

This place has friendly staff and is overall a very clean location to sit and get work done. Drinks are either a hit or miss here. The vtm coffee is delicious and so is the Spanish latte. I recently tried the honey bee latte and it was awful. Not sure if they just dumped too much cinnamon into the drink or what happened but it burned. Threw the whole drink out. Besides that one experience, I have had a good experience every other time I've come here. There are long lines in the morning but it's not too bad in the evening. Another great thing is that you can order ahead of time for pick up if you can't wait in line. read more

This is 9.75 before tax and even smaller then my hand. They are shrinking the size. It used to be bigger at least in the other locations. I remember I paid 5 regularly in other Vietnamese sandwich shop too and the size is comparable to subway 6 inch sandwiches. read more

I was so excited to try BLK because it's not often to find a place that specializes in Viet coffee. I was a bit underwhelmed though. VT MATCHA - 3.5/5 Sub almond milk so maybe that affected the taste (my friend is lactose). I could taste coffee flavor but it didn't seem to work too well together because the matcha wasn't really present or the viet coffee.. maybe just a mix of doing too much? BLACK VIET COFFEE - 3/5 This was just ok! I would probably just get a standard cold brew or americano next time though. read more

The guy working today was the absolute worst. He looked pissed off and like he didn't want to be there. I put in a mobile order for LVT Matcha with added 2 oz of coffee. When I picked up my drink it looked like all green. I asked if the 2 oz meant coffee or matcha and he said matcha. I didn't believe him so I pulled up the online order and showed him it says 2 oz added coffee. His response was a sassy tone and condescending attitude "do you want me to make you another one?" I said yes because it's not what I ordered. He proceeds to make me another drink. Midway though making my drink, he goes to check his phone and is now texting on his phone. When I was watching him make the drink he added 2 shots of espresso not 2 oz of LVT coffee. At this point I didn't say anything because he wasn't helpful to begin with. Worst customer service and interaction. I ended just throwing away the $7.25 drink. Never coming back to this location. Never have had any issues but this guy left the worst taste in my mouth. read more

4/5 Studying/Working There's plenty of outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. There are several outlets with usb plugs on the walls, good wifi, and plenty of free parking. I like the ambience of this coffee shop and come here occasionally to study. On the weekdays it doesn't get too crowded, since most people just come in to order and pick up. 10/5 Iced Uji Matcha Latte I'm obsessed with their Uji Matcha Latte with oat milk. The matcha flavor is strong and the combination is just right (I didn't have to make any adjustments). I'm an avid fan of matcha, but I haven't had great luck with the lattes I've tried so I was really surprised to see how much I enjoyed this one. I'd highly highly recommend getting this if you're a matcha fan too! 2/5 Avocado Toast Bread was a little too hard and slightly burnt. Overall, the toast was a bit plain for my taste - the avocado was solid but the other toppings did not add much to the flavor. 3/5 Iced VTMatcha Vietnamese coffee flavor was way too strong for me and overpowered the matcha. I barely touched the drink after a few sips :/ I believe they can make adjustments to the drink, but I'll probably stay true to the uji matcha latte. 4/5 Sea Salt Jasmine Tea The drink itself was solid, but I prefer the one from 7 leaves, which has a stronger tea flavor and better ice to tea ratio. read more

BLKdot coffee is located in Tustin marketplace next to Pieology and Veggie Grill. We placed an online order which was convenient for easy pick up. We tried: Iced BLK'nd mojito - very strong coffee with light mint flavor. I prefer the mint mojito iced coffee from Philz coffee instead. Thai iced tea - way too sweet and weak tea but I did like that they offered non-dairy milks with this. Overall, for $14 for 2 average drinks, not worth it. We won't be back. read more

I really appreciate the quality of coffee at BlkDot as well as a level of service that is uncommon to find these days. I come here quite often to study, and the wide variety of drinks makes it an ideal place for visiting on a bi-weekly basis. The music is good and its never too loud inside the cafe. There are plenty of outlets for laptops and the wifi is not noticeably slow. Drinks: LVTM (5/5): When I go in the mornings, this is my go-to. Great flavor. Uji Matcha (2/5): Sort of bitter last time I got it. Luckily they replaced it with a different drink on the house. It's odd because the last time I got it, it was actually totally fine. Chai Latte (4/5): Not a super strong chai flavor. Safe bet. Iced Latte (5/5): My favorite drink by far! read more

The strength of the flavor of coffee does not indicate caffeine content. Though I'm not sure the exact amount of caffeine left in their decaf, it is very little by the standard used to determine decaf drinks.

Today was completely full at 10am and a line out the door. Paging people through their text when tables were ready. So let's do a critical review of the "stress test" which cost us $23.81 for two people. The person at the podium in front took our name and my cell number to text us when ready. The line for ordering was out the door but the system paged us and said "your table is ready" so we waited in line outside the front door for 10 minutes and finally transitioned to the inside line which took another 10 minutes to order. I would say that the timing of when the system texts you needs some work. We ordered a Classic Breakfast with CRISPY bacon, home potatoes, multi-grain toast, a side of pork sausage and a cappuccino. The enclosed receipt does not accurately reflect what we ordered. The bacon was floppy and not fully cooked. The home potatoes were not done and soggy. The sausage was dry and tasted old. The cappuccino was perfect. So I would say that this Poached Kitchen location, compared to our prior experience of things done perfectly, failed the "stress test" - when tables and lines were full, it could not deliver it's normal well-prepared meals. They also failed to check back at the table which is a standard service item they have observed for many months. Of course new people still in training can account for alot of this kind of experience. We detected new people we had not seen before. We generally consider management accountable for ensuring that new employees are properly trained. We have not seen the food preparation break down before. This was a first but then we've never seen this many people lined up waiting for tables. Of course all kinds of things go on simultaneously that stress the system.... to go orders from online sources, people trying to box their leftovers, etc. Poached has a whole team of people who just worry about clearing tables, setting up tables with water, etc. This of course allows higher turnover and better utilization along with better customer service. Our takeaway today is: don't come to poached kitchen when it's packed....come earlier before 8am. and notice they serve lunch as well.

This is located at the shopping galleria and is just right near the entrance. Though I may not go here often, their service from start to finish is superb as all staff are filled with bright smiles and are friendly. The place itself is very spacious and they do a great job cleaning the place. So glad their restrooms here don't have that pungent smell most public restrooms have... I ordered the cappuccino and it was nicely made. I don't think you can really mess it up. It had just the right amount of sweetness and that condensed milk played its role just right. After walking towards the opposite end will be the entrance of the coffee shop. The cashier is immediately on the left and there are large amounts of sofas to sit on or you can walk towards the back to sit outside in the patio. The coffee shop is facing a large street with a tree and large area of grass. It's very nice and pleasant to sit and people watch. I had ordered a breakfast burrito with their bacon and their signature latte with almond milk. Their burrito was very fresh and hot! There are tater tots inside with delicious cheese. I wasn't a fan of their bacon because it was sweet maple bacon; it clashed with the savory taste of the burrito. Their latte was great! Not super sweet and definitely kept me caffeinated. Super nice coffee shop and I highly recommend it if you are within the area!

Nice corner spot at this plaza near my office. The staff are super friendly and quick to turn out…read moreyour order. I can't review all of the coffee because I only ever order the Sea Salt Cold Brew. I usually get cold brews black from other places, but this drink from BLK Dot has me in a chokehold. It's like drinking melted ice cream. My only mild complaint is if you order online it always says it'll be 20 minutes for your order to be ready...This confused me one of my first times because it was like 7am on a Saturday. That said, it has never actually taken 20 minutes to get my drink. I just think the digital system just automatically assigns +20 from time of order...which is why they get 5 stars!

This is not my first time at a BLK dot location but it is for sure the last time i'm ever going to…read morea different location. The staff at this location are kind, friendly, and efficient. Despite the rushes, they get your drinks out quickly and they always have something nice to say. I honestly felt so very welcome here, shout out BLK Dot Alton team. 5 stars, will be coming back. Cute store, great team, great experience!
