I think the coffee store has a really cute theme. They have a little printer machine where you can take photos. I got the ube latte, it was a little too sweet for me so I would ask for less sugar next time. The ube taste was not as strong compared to other ube lattes that I've had. I got my drink really fast and I would definitely go back to try their coffees.
Ive been wanting to try this place for sooo long and it did not disappoint! A South Korean cafe vibe with delish quality coffee and matcha! Service was so sweet eat and friendly and fast! I went right in the morning on a weekday around 8:30. There is a small parking lot which I appreciated. Seating in the back of the store and in the front there is a cute Polaroid sticker Photo Booth! You can stick your sticker on the wall or take it with you! Loved this fun aspect! I got the block latte and the banana matcha. Both phenomal. I got a choice of which ice I wanted, maybe bc it wasn't too busy , but I loved that and chose Lego people. I'm def going to be back!!!
Located in South San Jose we went to try this spot for the first time. They have a cute photo booth in the main area where it prints out a photo sticker where you can post on their walls. I tried the banana matcha and my boyfriend tried the einspanner coffee. The banana matcha had good flavor and was not overly sweet which I liked. The einspanner coffee is good and I suggest to add the sweetener as it normally does not have sweetener.
Wish this was closer! So many fun drinks that I wanted to try, but had to get the banana matcha latte with oat milk. No big batch matcha here and real banana. Presentation is 10/10 and flavor is delicious! Service was very friendly and quick! The inside is too cute, love the minimalist vibes and free Photo Booth.
My daughter's basketball league is close by and was excited to find Block. The aesthetics coming in was super cute, nice clean and chic. They have a cute little Photobooth area that provides free photos, a nice touch! I ordered the pistachio latte and loved it! I'm not usually a pistachio girly but it was advertised so I decided to give it a try. Loved the flavors and nuttiness! Thought it could be a tad sweeter, but that's my preference since I like my drinks sweet. Price point was a little above average, but that's expected now in the Bay Area. They have a cute little seating area in the back as well. Def coming back to try other yummy drinks!
Some yummy drinks with a few misses. My friend and I tried 5 drinks total. We both agreed that the double matcha was the best tasting. Super generous with the matcha foam with a creamy matcha base. It wasn't too sweet and the matcha flavor shined through. The banana matcha and matcha einspanner were pretty good too, but the foams were less impressive and more artificial tasting. I also really enjoyed the yuzu berry tea. So refreshing!!! The block coffee itself was a hard pass for me. Takes forever to melt and just tasted like milk with watered down coffee. A cute concept of a drink but not well executed. Interior is clean, sleek, and modern. They have a little seating area towards the back of the shop, and a photo booth in the front that prints your picture out as a sticker. Cute spot to chill! Drinks came out fairly quick as well.
Cute cafe in South San Jose that does a variety of trendy and classic coffee and matcha beverages! My boyfriend got the Block Latte (an iced latte that's iced with coffee) and I got the banana matcha, which totaled to $18. $20 for 2 drinks is quite steep, in my opinion. The cream top was very thick and came with a slice of freeze dried banana and some biscoff crumbs that added a delicious crunchy texture to the drink that wasn't offputting at all. The banana flavor is very infused and pairs well with the matcha here. The Block Latte was strong, even before the iced block of coffee melted! It came in an adorable My Melody shape. Very tasty and a nice jolt of caffeine for the day. Seating in the back is tucked away and limited but surprisingly full on weekends! Lots of young students here chatting and getting work done. I hope that Block Coffee continues to experience success, because cute cafes like these in south side come by infrequently.
i've been meaning to try this place out due to all the hype this place has been getting on tiktok. it's a bit out of the way so i still haven't gone but my friend went ahead to grab for me. she got me the strawberry matcha latte. the color of the matcha was not impressive at all. the matcha was very close to pistachio. the flavor of the matcha wasn't really there either. it tasted more like strawberry milk. i liked the dry bits of strawberry on the top but it was not enough to blow me away. personally i wouldn't come again since each drink was about $~9 for mostly milk flavor.
My friend and I drove about 40 minutes to try Block, and it definitely did not disappoint. We got the Earl Grey Matcha and the Matcha Einspanner, and both were really good. I don't usually see a lot of places that offer Earl Grey Matcha, so I had to try it, and it ended up being one of the best I've had. The flavors were really well balanced, with the matcha and Earl Grey blending together smoothly without overpowering each other. The Matcha Einspanner was also really nice, especially with the creamy top that made the drink feel rich but still smooth. The café itself is really clean and nicely designed, and the soft music playing in the background made the whole vibe feel calm and relaxing. It's the kind of place where you can just sit and enjoy your drink without feeling rushed. The people there were also really nice, which made the experience even better.
I am on the hunt for the best lattes in the South Bay. The interior was so beautiful and neutral and modern. I asked the girls for the most delicious latte on the menu and they recommended the pistachio latte. It was $9.29 for the drink, which is pretty steep. The drink itself looked beautiful with cold foam and pistachio bits on top. However, I found the drink to be bitter - even with whole milk. I mixed in the cold foam and it was just ok. Kind of let down - quite an expensive drink that fell flat for me. I wouldn't waste your money here.
Caught up with a friend for a few hours at this cute, local coffee shop! It has a good amount of parking. We came on a weekday afternoon. The cashier was so friendly in helping us select and customize drinks. There is a free photo booth near the register and it prints out stickers from your photo. How adorable! I love that. There is seating in the back of the store when you go down the hallway. It's tight but good enough to fit a handful of people. It was kept relatively clean but nobody check up on us throughout the time we were there. The prices are on the pricier side. I paid over $8 for my drink. I got the block signature latte. It came with a giant cube made of espresso. Good thing we were planning to stick around for a while! I enjoyed it! It wasn't too sweet. This is a good drink for slow drinkers because it took a long time to melt. I liked that the cube was made of espresso so it didn't dilute the drink. It was a novel experience. Overall it was cool to check out this cafe! I wonder how their other drinks are. I may try again if I find myself in the area.
Came back just cause we were near by and the first thing I noticed was the cups got bigger! The cups are now 16oz rather than 12oz, however, they did increase the price by $2. Take that as you will. Matcha Einspanner -the cream top reminds me of a vanilla ice cream -matcha is still great quality -got less ice and less sweet but it still felt a bit too sweet for my taste, not way too sweet though Earl grey matcha -matcha is great quality -Earl grey definitely shines through -I got less ice and less sweet for this as well but it was significantly sweeter than the Einspanner -the sweetness slightly overpowers the flavors of the drink and is too sweet for me so I unfortunately probably won't get this again unless it can be even less sweet.
If you're a matcha enthusiast and cute cafe lover, like myself, I recommend giving Block Coffee a try! I came here on a Sunday afternoon with some friends and this place was pretty busy. This cafe is small, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. When you walk in, they have a small photo booth where you can take selfies and either stick them onto their photo wall or keep for memories c: The workers here were super friendly and the drinks were beautifully made! I ordered a Double Matcha Cream Latte w/ oatmilk and really enjoyed it. The matcha was lightly sweetened, creamy, grassy, and smooth. The matcha cream was silky and slightly bitter. The whole drink worked very well together. My only con about the drinks here are the cups are small and drink prices are pretty steep. Overall, I would come back here but only on special occasions with friends! Next time, I would love to try their Strawberry Matcha Latte.

Block coffee replaced the gong cha that was here for a lot of years. Here are my honest thoughts on the store: Vibe: very minimalist adding to the trend of newer coffee shops. Almost reminiscent of Stagger coffee down in LA. Small cute seating area in the back which is nice. Price: VERY expensive with competing coffee shops in the area. Latte price was 7.64 post tax, and signature drink price was 8.75 post tax. Compared to competing shops, block coffee is around 2$ more. Should lower prices. Coffee Quality: 1. Hot vanilla latte: an underwhelming flat taste, it is smooth but I mainly taste milk and the vanilla sweetener. 2. Cold signature "block:" coffee comes from the espresso blocks the staff freezes and puts in the drink as ice cubes. Honest review, the coffee is burnt; ashy even. All I really taste is the milk. The espresso is knocking on the door but it doesn't "hit" with the coffee ratio. Another unfortunate downside , the drink is very diluted. Me and my buddies got two of these drinks; and one tasted more burnt than the other, not consistent. Unfortunately, NOT worth it for 8$. Overall: block coffee is a great concept for a start-up coffee shop, however the drinks need to be refined and more consistent with flavor. Price point should also be lowered by a few dollars. Hopefully in a few months if the store improves we will be back to try the new updates. Best of luck to the store owners read more

I've been looking for matcha places near home and unfortunately this place didn't hit. Been seeing this place on TikTok so I'd thought I'd give it a try arguably pretty pricey for a matcha I got the strawberry float matcha. It was okay matcha ratio was off if I wanted to pay $8 and some change for strawberry milk could've went somewhere else. Maybe I should've just stuck to a regular matcha latte. read more

This tiramisu coffee is absolutely amazing. It has the perfect balance of rich espresso and creamy sweetness, just like the dessert but not overpowering. The flavor is smooth, slightly chocolatey, and so comforting. Definitely one of the best specialty coffees I've had! read more

this new aesthetic coffee shop is very pretty inside, but the drinks leave a lot to be desired. i came here during the day and it was pretty empty, but a line formed in the early afternoon, so it seems pretty busy most of the day. parking is easy and the service was good! i tried their double matcha with oat milk ($10 after tax) and got one of their financiers for free from their soft opening deal. the matcha was very clumpy and the flavor was flat and one-note. the cream top was okay, but didn't have a lot of matcha flavor in it. i was overall disappointed by the lack of quality and attention to detail - it might be one of the worst matcha lattes i've ever had unfortunately. their coffee drinks might be better, but i can't recommend their matcha. the financier was delicious, in contrast to the drink! super crunchy on the outside with a pleasant, more tender texture on the inside. overall, this shop is super aesthetic, seeming to take inspiration from LA's korean-inspired cafe culture, but it doesn't bring the same quality that matcha/coffee shops in LA have. please don't waste your money! read more

We got the Matcha Einspanner & a Einspanner Latte. The Matcha was great and I really enjoyed the Einspanner on top. The Einspanner latter was very strong and needed some sweetness to it but overall was a solid coffee. For spending $18 I wish the cups were bigger. read more

My daughter got me a block latte from the store last week, they freeze the actual coffee into a shape of Hello Kitty and use it as ice. It's a clever idea, the actual coffee acts as ice so it doesn't dilute the coffee too much. Coffee is not as strong as other Asian coffee places but still delicious, today is the 3rd time we come back to get our drink despite having to drive far. read more

Ambiance was really minimal and aesthetic! Cute place to hang with friends with a few photo options (free Photo Booth!) , nice spot in the back with smaller tables. Service was relatively quick as well. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side at 9 dollars a cup. The double matcha was pretty good but wish there was bigger cup sizes considering the price is higher than most. The strawberry matcha had more strawberry notes than matcha. Not sure if I would come back unless sizes increase or prices change! read more
It's a newly opened spot on Blossom, across from the Trader Joe's. I already visited 3 times and tried different drinks each time- pistachio latte, double cream matcha, and matcha einspanner. Pistachio cream just tasted like pistachio ice cream I was disappointed as I finish the cream up as I didn't mix the drink. Double matcha was great as well as einspanner! the best one i would pick is double matcha! Only down side is this spot already got so popular so that there is a quite of a wait. I ordered 3 pistachio latte and 1 double matcha cream latte, all with oat milk add on and an extra shot for me. Total 44.78 with tip yikes My pistachio latte was a bit disappointing. Did not taste any pistachio whatsoever with the exception of pistachio bits on top. The chocolate powder topping overpowered all other flavors. Also, I'm concerned why the foam was a teal color :( The Espresso however was good! I probably should've stuck with their normal 2 shots because mine was quite strong with 3. The matcha latte is still pending from my coworkers review. Overall, not sure I would go back simply because of the price and quality. $11 for a latte is pretty steep and my coffee didn't give me the wow factor I was looking for especially with an already limited menu. read more
love this new addition! It's super cute, clean, modern, and aesthetic. it's where the other tea spot used to be (G.C). it's close to home and the coffee is strong, but overall fantastic! I ordered the Pistachio Cream Latte and it did not disappoint, just make sure to mix it very well and it's perfect! I didn't ask for less sweet, so thankfully it's already lightly sweetened. The space is small but there is seating in the back, i didn't check it out so i'm not sure how many seats or tables are available but i'll definitely be coming back to try other items on their menu. read more

Came here on a Wednesday around 4pm it pretty empty. We ordered the block coffee iced with oat milk I think it's so cute they add espresso ice in it instead of regular ice. 10/10 then we also got a pistachio creamer iced latte is was so good the coldfoam on top was so yummy they added chocolate powder to it too also a 10/10. Would definitely come back. They also have a little photobooth inside and it was so cute and free read more

I base my review strictly on flavor, not on pricing because honestly all matcha spots are becoming pricey. The matcha itself was one of the best matchas I've had that is well flavored. The double matcha to be exact. Yes, you can see some clumpiness, but still tastes amazing. The lattes were also pretty strong and not sweet aside from the cream, which I loved. read more

The latte is really my taste, it's very good and easy to drink. The coconut matcha tasted authentic but was a bit too sweet for me. I would order it again with less sugar. Got the Double Matcha and the Matcha Einspanner! My favorite is the double matcha for a more matchay taste. The matcha einspanner is good if you like vanilla cream otherwise the base if the same. The double matcha just is the same but with a matcha foam on top, therefore the "double". Good service as there is only 2 workers working their best. Love the aesthetic of the store as well! read more

The photo booth was cute and all, but the drinks were not worth it for the price. We got the matcha einspanner which was $8.75 (quite pricey) and upon receiving our drinks, the matcha appeared to be clumpy. Our first sips were just straight lumps. The color of the drink is also very light unlike other matcha spots which have vibrant green matcha. For the price, the quality was just not there. Hopefully they can improve in the future. read more

After discovering this spot next to the Almaden Plaza, I now recommend this place to whoever I'm with whwn near there! The Matcha Coconut Cloud is my favorite drink and whwn I'm not feeling matcha, I reach for their "ades". They have a cute receipt Photo Booth whwn you come in and my friends and I have a blast there! The service is quick and sweet and they have your drinks out pretty fast. Overall this place has been added to one of my favorites! read more

I love checking out new coffee shops in the neighborhood, and this one has been my favorite so far. I tried the pistachio cream latte and the double matcha latte, and both were really good. The sweet cream foam on top was soft and not overly sweet, and the flavors came through nicely. For the matcha, they hand-whisk it right after you order, which makes a noticeable difference and it tasted smooth and well-balanced. You can tell they're using good quality ingredients. The space itself is very trendy and gives off a strong LA café vibe. There's also seating in the back, which is nice if you want to hang out for a bit. One fun touch is the little photo printer where you can take a picture and print it as a sticker!! Super CUTE Prices felt reasonable for the quality, and the staff were all very friendly. Definitely planning to come back and try more of their signature drinks. read more
