I've been there three times and the services has been very slow each time. Granted, we went for breakfast on weekends. The waitstaff seem very inexperineced and unattentive. I have only had breakfast (pancakes once and the 'cowboy breakfast' twice) at Blondies and it's....just okay. It's greasy and mediocre. On my most recent visit I had a giant black hair in my eggs which I, luckily, noticed before I dug in. The manager comped the meal but it left me a little unsettled. My boyfriend and I decided to get out of East Lansing and try something new, then we cane across Blondie's Barn. I got the farmers omlette with home style potatoes and pumpkin bread. I had so much food I couldn't even finish half of it! The potatoes and bread were delicious, the omlette was decent nothing too great though. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich with some bacon. We were both disappointed to see that his sandwich looked like something you would get from McDonalds, it was not very big at all! Other than that it was pretty good! read more

I took my child to breakfast as a special time out, just the two of us. I LOVE eating out for breakfast and I had high hopes as this was my first visit to the barn. I honestly can't understand what I'm missing here...this place was terrible. The food has decent presentation but was not good quality and didn't taste very good. Also, our waitress was decent and very nice to us but as we sat there she got into an argument with an older guy sitting next to us. I didn't hear what he said, but she retorted in a super snotty & rude way and went stalking away from his table. She came back once more and was rude to him again. It made me very uncomfortable to see a customer treated that way so we got out of there as quickly as possible. I will never go back. read more

Not sure what I'm missing but this place definitely does not merit the 4 star Yelp rating that it currently has. The waitstaff was fine; however, my juice came with an additional protein shot of bugs in it and the huevos rancheros were...well I don't know what they were but they certainly weren't good, nor should they be called huevos rancheros. The hash browns were perhaps the most disappointing part of the meal. They were mushy with a side of bland flavor and sadness. Can't miss this place as the name says it all. This restaurant is a bright red barn that I found recently and was curious as to how their food was. I was not disappointed at all. I first ordered a sugar daddy small latte which contains caramel and hazelnut flavoring. Don't like the word "small" fool you because for around $3 you get a humongous latte that I seriously could not finish and it was delicious. Then I decided I wanted to get an omelette and I spent so much time trying to decent what to get. Finally decided on an egg white omelette with cheddar jack cheese, green peppers, mushrooms, chicken, and I decided to take out the tomatoes. It came with a choice of potatoes so I chose the homemade potatoes with a hint of onion and chose a slice of pumpkin bread for my last choice. Sadly didn't get a chance to try the pumpkin bread because I'm gluten-free but I gave it to my friend and she said it was delicious. My friend got a Belgium waffle and she loved it so much she ordered a second and took it to go. Definitely recommend this small red barn. This place is homey and the people their are very friendly. You will get a large breakfast for a great price and you won't be disappointed. read more

My boyfriend and I ate at Blondie's Barn two morning's ago. We wanted to go out for breakfast and have passed Blondie's barn numerous times and thought we would try it out. We arrived there at 10: 30 A.M. When we first got there, there was only one family in front of us; however, we had to wait in line for twenty minutes. After we got seated, it took a while for our waitress to come. When she did, she seemed very frazzled and jumpy; although they were a bit busy, they were not overwhelmed... It was what one would expect going to a breakfast place at 11:00 A.M. We waited for our food for over forty minutes. All my bf and I ordered was eggs, toast, and hash browns. Not only that, but we had somewhere to be at 12:00. Needless to say, we were getting worried about the time. When our food came, it was ok. It was not the best, however. This service we received at Blondie's Barn, along with the "barely average" food we got was very disappointing, to say the least. I went in there thinking it would be a pleasant experience, but came out thinking to myself that I would never eat there again. As my bf and I were walking out, we said just that... and another family that was exiting at the same time as us said the same thing. They said their service was slow, dissatisfying, and they wouldn't be returning. The food at Blondie's is usually pretty good but the last few times we've gone it's gotten worse and worse. During our last visit my pancakes were undercooked and this time my breakfast had a hair laying across nearly the entire plate. We had water and creamer spilled on our table without being cleaned up, we were rushed with the bill, and had some punk kid seat us by throwing the menus and silverware on the table and walking away. Again, we have really liked Blondie's in the past and are hopefully it was just a bad visit. We will be back but one more bad visit and we may consider a new Sunday breakfast spot. read more

The food was alright. We ordered 4 meals. The kids nachos had hair in them so my niece refused to eat them. The service was HORRIBLE. Any server knows with common sense when children are your clientele napkins are required. I asked after half way finished with our meals to only have our server disappear and to not return 15 minutes later empty handed. We had to go ask the resin in back to get us boxes and about walked out without paying due to having to wait forever for them to take our credit card. I was really shocked by having the door locked in our faces at 1:40 when their advertised close time is 2:00 p.m. Don't think I've ever been treated so rudely by a business where I was plannning to spend my money. They looked right at us and locked the door! Didn't even have the courtesy to say anything. Very underwhelmed. Friends had said how great this place is so we wanted to try it. When we sat down there was half of someone's breakfast under one of the chairs, which we had to ask to have swept up. Ordered omelets. Both were undercooked and wet inside. Regular coffee was watery and did not inspire me to try their coffee bar. Pumpkin bread was tasty but dry. Bacon had good flavor but was oily. Avocado was not sliced but scooped avocado mash that didn't look very fresh. When we went to pay the open kitchen was messy with food under the counters on the floor and the chests looked like they were covered in muck and needed a good scrubbing. read more

Fantastic service, friendly and quick. It was clean inside but not a fan of the decor, but that is to each their own. It was our first time there. Nice large menu and the portions are huge. If you are a small to average eater I suggest splitting a meal. I had a philly steak omelette and also ordered the french toast as I heard that was very good. That is until this last week I wanted to have lunch with my mother and we met up at Blondie's on Tuesday. We arrived at 1:40 pm and as we were walking up to the door an employee came up to the doors and locked them right in front of us. I've gone here a lot because the location works for a group of friends who meet regularly for breakfast. It is consistently mediocre at best. The good - decent pancakes, pumpkin bread, location The not very good - weak coffee, overcooked potatoes, overcooked and often incorrect omlettes, slow/indifferent service, and sticky/dirty environment. Today when I went I stepped in a sticky pile of...Something on the floor. I could barely lift my foot. Then I noticed the bowls for cream/sugar on the table were dirty, the door leaving the restaurant was sticky. They could change a few things and have a much better restaurant. read more

Not only was it so generous, but it was SO delicious, easily the best Thanksgiving meal I've ever had. The first time and only time I had breakfast at Blondie's Barn I could not eat the fried potato's! They were stuck together as if someone has sat on them. Seriously, I left them all! About three months later I decided to give lunch a try at Blondie's and ordered a club sandwich. When it arrived I thought, "this is no surprise." The toast was browned on some of the edges and most of it was still white. I could tell the bread spent some time in the toaster because it was warmed just enough to make it dry. One of the quarters had no bacon on it and thinly slices tomatoes, very thin. Dear God what got in to me about a month after my second disappointing meal. I figured I would try-one-more-time. I ordered a salad with chicken on it. I was surprised to find the salad pretty good! The chicken on top was another story. The chicken breast was gray, no grill marks just gray as it it was boiled? I eat most of the salad that did not have onions in it and the chicken breast in to go containers. I ended up tossing both out after a few days I just could not bring my self to eat. I read the other reviews and was shocked, how in blue blazes could I have three poor experiences in a row? Fernando's have great breakfasts the breakfast potato's are constantly good and fresh!
