The people there were super nice.... however... I ordered something fairly simple.... I am amazed at how badly it came out. I ordered a fish sandwich which was inedible.... the fries were RE-fried... no soft potato inside just hard dried crinkles..... the fish was fried 5 min too long... it was as hard as my cell phone... We Order curbside pick up. Says ready at 1:29. Me and my wife are both extremely sick and did not want to go into an establishment. I sit in parking lot until 1:50 and call repeatedly with no answer. I have no other choice to mask up and stand at entrance of door and try to wave down one of the 4-5 employees standing and talking. One tells me to go to counter after I say I'm sick. I say no. Finally someone brings me order; I ask if they don't do curbside anymore? He said "yeah, wasn't there an option for it?" Option was checked. Car color and make was put in. Tried to call 5-6 times. Don't offer curbside during Covid if you aren't going to follow through or answer phone. We were trying to be responsible and supportive of local community establishment. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars, but it's barely deserving of 1. The one star is only given as it does provide material that is safe to consume. As far as how it tastes...it's bad, really bad. If you like truck stop food, this is a grade below that. I've gone twice and probably didn't need the second visit to confirm what I already knew. Came in Saturday at 7:00am sharp to beat the crowds. I have been there a few times about 7 years ago and absolutely loved the food. WHAT HAPPENED? I ordered the Cowboy breakfast with bacon and hashbrowns. The bacon was not crispy and tasteless. They use some kind of brush on butter on the toast that is horrible and the toast was drenched in it. First word of advice if you are ordering breakfast ... split a meal! All of the portions are GIANT! I read another review that talked about how their father belonged to the "clean plate club" and couldn't finish their meal, this review couldn't be more true! If you are thirsty and have a bit of a sweet tooth I would try the Snickers latte, it has caramel, chocolate, hazelnut flavoring with whip cream on top .. can you say delicious! Side note: this is huge too! I couldn't finish it all. We ordered the country style breakfast with a Dutch pancake. I thought it would be a small side of pancakes, not literally the whole giant plate is a pancake with the country style breakfast on top. We also ordered the Meat Lovers breakfast that came with a side of large Texas toast. Not the typically toast you are used to seeing in a diner. I guess everything is bigger here?! The food was very filling and tasty. It's a country western style restaurant hidden right next to an overpass with lots of charm and pizazz! It looks like a giant red barn on the outside. I've been to this restaurant twice so far, and I plan on going back. Part of the fun of eating here is trying to determine the purpose of all the farming implements on the walls. The food is tasty and simply prepared. They have a lot of breakfast options and the food is plentiful. I particularly enjoy the crispy hash browns and the Eggs Benedict. My dining companion enjoyed his breakfasts of eggs, sausage, toast, and hashbrowns. The prices are really reasonable. The staff is very helpful and polite. I never have a problem getting a coffee refill. The weekends are fairly busy, but I only waited a few minutes before I was seated. The seating options, by the way, are lovely. There are both tables and booths, with enough room to move around comfortably. The booths are comfortable for even larger folks, though getting in and out might be a bit tricky due to the design. read more

Excellent service! Friendly staff! Good food and satisfying portions :) I arrived at 1:50pm on a Sunday and the restaurant had told me over the phone that they close between 2 and 2:30pm. I was planning on getting take out but Blondie encouraged me to dine in :) I was surprised to see a mostly full restaurant so I'm sure it's a policy to push their hours a little. The pancakes, omelet and hash browns were terrific! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! Yummy! We saw great yelp reviews so me and my boyfriend decided to come try it out. Honestly, we didn't have super high expectations cause it's hard to mess up breakfast food/make it extremely good. But everything was equally delicious and consistent! We got the red velvet pancakes (my absolute favorite), corned beef omelette, and huevos rancheros. We had a great experience at Blondie's! We arrived at ~noon on Sunday. We were unaware that this was their busiest day and time, and were a group of 12. First of all, they were incredibly accommodating and set up a table for us after around a 20 min wait (very reasonable). They went above and beyond to make sure we were not only seated, but also seated comfortably. The food was really good. The hot cocoa was creamy and the whipped cream velvety and light. I got the chicken caesar wrap, which was also great. The best part, however, was having the owner check in on us multiple times to make sure we were all doing well! There were only two tables sat and no one waiting when my son and I went in at 8:30 today (Tuesday). You'd think the service would be perfect however it wasn't. After she brought our food out she didn't come out from the back until she brought the check. Then I had to remind her to bring a box. My son loved his chocolate chip pancakes and crispy (as he requested) bacon. My Acapulco omelet (chorizo, jalapeños and cheese, a combo I choose regularly) was over cooked. It needed salsa. I only ate three or four bites. I ordered hash browns with gravy on them. The potatoes were fine however the gravy was bland and definitely a powder mix. I scraped it off and put some catsup on them. The pumpkin bread was very moist and delicious, though! The rough part came on the way home. We live thirty minutes away. About five minutes down the road, my gut started churning. It ebb and flowed for the duration of my ride home. I wasn't sure I was going to make it! Thank god I did! I had the most explosive diarrhea I've had in a long time. YUCKO! Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because in the summer when it's 90 degrees out they don't believe in A/C when the kitchen is so close cooking for 30-50 people. Went here for breakfast on Sunday morning. Although it was busy we got right. Right from the start the vibe was great. The hostess was smiling and got us seated right away we chose to sit at the bar. Immediately upon sitting down the waitress asked us if we'd like menus and if we'd like something to drink. Being a coffee addict I immediately ordered a hot latte. I did not expect what I received. It was amazing, delicious and perfectly brewed from the Espresso machine behind her...she added fresh cream on top and handed it to me and asked if we had any questions about the menu. I could go into lengthy detail about the food but I will condense it to what we ordered. The pancakes! They were flavorful and perfectly crispy around the edges.The sourdough toast was real sourdough the potatoes were hand cut home fries perfectly seasoned. The eggs over easy were exactly as I ordered and the portion size was enormous. The corn beef hash was also delicious and homemade. Two for breakfast , a handcrafted latte and two giant glasses of orange juice for the grand total of $25!? We also took a large takeout container home because we were completely stuffed and couldn't finish it all. Needless to say I highly recommend Blondie's Barn the staff was friendly and authentic. I'm not sure if the gentleman helping behind the counter and in kitchen was the owner but I believe so... he also was friendly and assisting the waitresses and cashing people out. I was so excited to try Blondie's because of all the positive things I had heard. I was disappointed with the Jolly Good "Dutch" pancake I ordered because it was just a regular pancake NOT even close to a Dutch pancake. The potatoes on mine were undercooked as well. I ended up just ordering toast & eating the eggs that came on top (those were cooked perfectly!). On the positive side we had good service. I loved the coffee drink I ordered. I have no idea if it's just their lunch that is pretty gross but my daughter, husband and I came here for lunch and we're beyond disappointed. I got the wet burrito, the beans tasted like can, the shredded cheese wasn't even melted and the chicken had absolutely no seasoning. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap and chili cheese fries. The chili tasted like it was canned regardless of the menu saying it was made in house and the buffalo chicken wrap was ridiculously underwhelming. The burger was decent except the soggy bottom bun and the salty flavor (possibly from the cheese?) but the fries were just frozen crinkle fries that were undercooked and the coleslaw was repulsive. The staff wasn't rude but wasn't friendly either. There was a long line at the door but no one taking down names, just calling them. Our waitress came to take our order then to deliver but was otherwise MIA. I have no idea how their breakfast is but their lunch wasn't even mediocre. I had a fantastic brunch here today! The tables were well distanced and clean for sanitary purposes. The servers were wearing masks although I did see some kitchen staff without masks on. The restaurant was taking names and numbers to wait for your table for social distancing purposes, but we were seated within five minutes. Our server was very friendly, checked in on us frequently, and there were no issues with our order. The "blondie caramel" coffee was fantastic and the french toast was delicious as well. Food was ok, eggs were fine, also got pumpkin pancakes which were decent but a little soggy. After dropping off the food, waitress never checked back in. Burned my mouth as second cup of coffee was wayyyy hotter than the first. Table was a little sticky. My mug was dirty and I had to wipe solid material off of the inside of the handle. The same can be said for the corned beef hash. Everything tastes good, but nothing extraordinary. The omelette tastes like an omelette and the corned beef tastes like corned beef. Solid breakfast with huge portions and some interesting combinations. We came in on a Sunday morning around 11:09 and we're told 30 minute wait for a table of 6, which is reasonable. We ended up waiting only 15 minutes or so which was a pleasant surprise! I had a skillet with sausage gravy, and if I was judging by my entree alone I would have only giving 3 stars; it was ok, very salty and not real flavorful. The eggs were done perfectly, though, and the crispy potatoes were tasty. Everyone else in my party raved about their food. My wife's pumpkin bread was delicious, and her breakfast - spicy omelette with chorizo- was also very good although it was very spicy! My dad had the skillet version of that omelette and enjoyed it, and my sister had a waffle with hash browns (carb monster), which she said was enjoyable. Both my mom and my sisters boyfriend ordered off the "Dutch menu"- it's their regular entree served on top of a huge pancake. They both had veggie omelettes, one Greek and one Green Giant and they both enjoyed their meals. This little gem looks small on the outside, but has the cutest atmosphere with painted murals in the walls and wood interior - it's very comforting. Looking at the menu, my parents and I were immediately drawn to the Dutch menu which was the very last page. I ordered the Jolly Good, and it was veggies, potatoes, cheese and three eggs served on top of a giant pancake. It was SO much food and very delicious! My dad liked his jolly green omelette, and the service and food came out very fast. I'd almost give this 5 stars, but the food was pretty oily and the pancake was slightly soggy with everything on top. It's definitely a great place for my family visiting me in east lansing, since there aren't too many great breakfast places around that aren't golden harvest or soup spoon cafe.
