I'm so glad my hotel advised me to check out the visitors center where I received a free gift and great perks. Does anyone else think that it's a bit odd that we are yelping about a bathroom? But if you actully go in here, you'll see why. The employees don't care if you spend the whole day in here and you're free to do just that. My friend and I were exhausted after a day of hard core shopping and decided to kick back relax and read a book. It is actually peaceful in the lounge with comfy couches and soft music playing. We were in there for about an hour just waiting for our ride to pick us up because who wants to pay for parkin gin the city? It was also late and the store was closing in another 20 minutes but no one cared or bothered you or anything. So if you're ever tired and just want to lounge, go here and relax. read more

I am not sure it's necessary to review a department store, as people will always shop there, but I feel compelled to write about my experience today. I needed a dress for a party (tomorrow), and was in panic-mode. After checking all of the other department stores in downtown with no luck, I ended here. The salespeople were so helpful, especially Jennifer in the Kate Spade/Eli Tahari area. She not only didnt mind me taking in about 50 dresses, she found a few more for me, and let me put my top several choices on hold for the day while I decided which to purchase. This is not for a Bloomingdales employee this is for the MAC COSMETICS COUNTER INSIDE BLOOMINGDALES SF. I came here today for the very first time with my husband and son, spontaneously passing through as we are not from the area we decided to check out the sf mall and all it's glory lol. We first went around the mall and are last stop was Bloomingdales I did not plan on purchasing any items as I was just looking at all the Mac makeup. A very kind women named joleen / jolee (I hope I'm spelling that right!) approaches me and asked if I need anything, I ofc say "just looking." And go off onto the lipstick stand , she then sees I am a nude color lip girl and suggests amazing combos in a very gentle non pushy way. I was impressed! Usually Mac girls leave you there without giving any guidance and let you approach them! She was so nice and I ended up buying 2 lipsticks lip gloss lip liner and one blush (: ! I then went on to the Bobbi brown counter to look at a foundation that called my attention, upon asking the worker there a question about the foundation he answered me very snarky and rude, almost as if he hadn't the time to fuss with me. I then asked him if I could have a sample of the foundation as I knew nothing about it and obviously he didn't want to bother with any questions even though THAT IS HIS JOB I wish I would have gotten his name but he is SHORT MEDIUM SKIN TONED WEAR FEMININE CLOTHING SHORT DARK HAIR AND BLACK THICK SQUARE GLASSES. I then wanted to purchase an item from Bloomingdales but did not want to ask him what so ever. So I went up to joleen again and asked where I could get my item rung up SHE IMMEDIATELY OFFERED TO HELP ME! I was so amazed by her customer service skills and care. Seems like the service is either hit or miss. Went shopping today in the mens dept and i literally stood around for 15 mins before someone decided to help me. it took me a while to venture in once bloomingdales came to town. so much hype, and it was a little intimidating (a la saks or nieman marcus). but unlike those places, bloomies is friendly and they have killer sales! i sometimes score favorite brands BCBG, theory, and laundry here for less than loehmanns prices. excellent service too. i had a saleswoman scour the store once for the last size 8 in a dress i desperately wanted. the system showed there was one left, but it was nowhere to be found. 25 minutes later, she had located it on another floor hiding in some random rack. score!! read more

I had been looking for a specific shoe and Bloomingdales carried it so I thought I would go see it in person and hopefully buy the shoe. I was walking around the department for quite some time and no one would help, or acknowledge me. I had multiple associates look at me, and walk right by even though it was clear that I was there to shop. I'm not sure if it was the clothing I was wearing, my age, or if the associates just have serious attitude...I'm going to go with attitude. Eventually someone decided to help me. She was incredibly rude to me because I would not buy the shoe she was trying to sell. The shoe literally had dried sweat on it from whoever previously tried it on, and was a half size too big for me. She then proceeded to tell me that she can give me a discount on the shoe if that is why I was hesitating. First, I wasn't hesitating over price. If I walk into the store and ask to try the shoe because I have been looking for it, I most certainly can afford it. Second, I don't want to buy a shoe that is literally dirty and has dried sweat in it (I could see the previous customer's foot marks in the shoe in sweat.) I told her thank you so much for her help but that I would like to think about it before making the purchase. She honestly looked like I had just completely wasted her time then proceeded to give me attitude, when she had maybe spent a grand total of 10 minutes on me. Maybe if the associates in there were less judgmental and actually cared to help people I would have ordered the shoe from them in store. However, they don't, so I walked 5 minutes up the street and found the same shoes at Neiman, where the employees actually greet you and will help you make the best choice. read more

Bloomingdale's obviously is one of the best department stores out there. Every associate watches you like a hawk as soon as you get in.. I walked into the Denim department dressed in my worn out chucks and some messed up jeans (you know the ones with holes). anyhow, i knew exactly what brand i wanted since i owned a few but decided to check out some Joe's instead. I'm not sure if that one male associate's main duty was to put clothes away but he sure as hell wasnt very customer friendly, not only did he not greet me (which is fine because i know some stores train there associates not to) but he also freaking bumped into me like 3 times. wth? at least freaking greet me at that point. anyway, so w/o spending too much time in the Joe's area, i walked over to true religion (not a fan) just to see what new ones they have. same attitude from that chick in that area. so proceeded to the area i was most interested in (rock & republic and 7s). i grabbed my jeans and some chick finally came over (probably knew i was gonna purchase them) to assist me. she was super friendly, helpful and even resourceful. so thankfully, the store redeemed itself (thanks to this lady). read more

I love shopping at Bloomies! It has all my favorite designers, and such nice classy and friendly sales people. On Saturday, when I was trying a big pile of stuff on in the dressing room (3rd floor next to diane von f. dresses), a sales guy offered bottled water to my patient hubby, who was sitting on a comfy sofa bench waiting for me to show off dresses, etc. I always have a good experience with Bloomingdales, whether it's our bridal registry or buying foot nylons. One complaint: I love that they have Armani cosmetics, but I don't love the way some of the make-up sales people really push you into buying extra things. For instance, I was sure that I already had a brown lip liner, but the manager convinced that it was unlikely since this color was "so new." I relented to this pressure, and then discovered once I got home that I was right about already having it. So I ended up back at the store to exchange the liner...rather than go to the Armani counter, I chose some waterproof eye liner by Dior. Nonetheless, treating my hubby with such class and the great sales will keep me coming back for more Blopping at this amazing store. This is a VERY BIG Bloomingdales, which means the selection is very good. The fitting rooms are also big and well lit so you can strike a pose in perfect, flattering lighting. The only bad thing I can think about is that it's hard to find someone at the cash registers on the clothing floors, but there are more than enough sales associates on the make-up/accessory floor. read more

This review is for the YSL makeup department specifically for Quiade (pretty sure I spelled that completely wrong sorry)! I never leave reviews for makeup sections in department stores, but he did an amazing job helping my mother and I out yesterday afternoon! He was very attentive, and helped my mother and I to pick out the perfect bronzer/concealer and did a great job showing my mother how to use bronzer and the different ways you can use it! Also taught me some very valuable tricks to use with concealer! What I loved most about Quiade was how knowledgable he was! He gave us very valuable information about YSL, and knew all of the ingredients in the products! I explained to him that I recently purchased Chanel foundation, and was very disappointed in it because I felt that it did not match my undertones even though I was matched by a Chanel makeup artist. Not trying to knock the product, it would be great on someone perhaps with pink undertones it just isn't the best on someone like me who is Pacific Islander. I learned that many of YSL products have a lot of golden undertones, which explained why their products always look the best on me! He also informed me about the amazing skincare aspects of YSL, which I had no idea about even after years of using YSL products! Now, I won't use anything but YSL and have fully commuted to switching over! My mother and I are visiting from Orange County and not only was this the best customer service we have received in San Fran, but the best customer service we have received in a while!! Originally I did not like this store because there was so much selection - too much selection and I couldn't shift through everything. I was really confused, that's why I prefer boutique shopping. But, I stopped in today after receiving a notice about their private sale. I don't know how they got my info because I do not have a Bloomingdales card. Their private sale was a terrific bargain. Extra 40% off already reduced items and a scaled discount rate for how much you buy that's ful price. In addition you can get $25 each $100 purchase and $15 hift cards for each $100 you spend. I bought several items for the first time in the YES department. I got a Juicy trench, True Religion jeans, and a DVF top. I then stopped by the Chloe department and found sunglasses. I broke the bank a little bit with all this shopping, but it's bonus time. I opened a credit card to be on their private sale list. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! My sister ordered 3 Nespresso bundles on 12/27 to be sent to one address. Then she placed an order for one more to be sent to another address. A few hours later she received no less than 4 CALLS from Bloomingdales verifying credit details and addresses. Then today we get emails stating that the order for 3 was cancelled and the order for one has shipped. THe order for 3 was placed first!!! I have spent the last hour + on the phone with customer service (in the Phillipines) who simply verified that what I said was true. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told 15 minutes later none were available. I asked to be transferred to someone in the US and then got a series of voice prompts and then a message that said their call volume was too high, gave me a busy signal and then disconnected. I just remodeled my bathroom at my spa.. I wanted to make it really special by buying a nice rug. I found a beautiful rug at Bloomys but when I got it home, it clashed with the tile. A week later I tried to exchange it for a solid color. The experience buying it was great but things sure changed when I attempted to return it. I did not have the receipt but I did have the card I used to purchase so I should have been golden. NOT! This sales lady and her manager had me held up for almost 30 minutes!! This was downright wrong. By the time it Was all worked out and they found the credit card I used, I was so embarrassed and angry, I didn't end up doing the exchange! I know the other rug would have looked great in my bathroom, OH WELL, I will find something someplace else. I will stay loyal to Nordies! They know how to treat their customers! Nordies give their customers the benefit of the doubt. The sales lady and her manager grilled me! Oh please keep in mind this rug was not your average bathroom rug priced at $240!!! Elegance has returned to the City. I shopped at Bloomingdale's today at the Friends and Family Preview Sale, and I was truly impressed. The store is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly and attentive (not so snobish like the other stores that will remain nameless) and they have such a great selection of designers. It's easy for me as a woman to find fashionable clothing at stores, but it's hard for straight guys to find cloths that are well made and fit well and relatively easy on the wallet. I love Bloomingdale's for men's clothing. My boyfriend is pretty picky when it comes to denim. Last year, we went to Levi's flagship store (very little selection), Macy's, Nordstrom, and H&M but couldn't find anything...so we checked out Bloomingdale's and what do you know, they were having a sale and my bf found several awesome fitting jeans (including premium Levi's not available at the flagship store) at comparable prices to the aforementioned stores. This year, we faithfully returned and lucked out once again. We found 3 pairs of premium Levi's, one of them priced at $300. But they were 50% off, plus another 20% for the pre-sale, and another 15% because I opened a Bloomingdale's credit card! $800 worth of jeans down to $250, that's a great deal, in addition to excellent customer service! read more

By far my favorite department store in San Francisco. I'm so glad it opened, because the one in Palo Alto was getting boring! This one is much larger and has a huge contemporary women's section. I buy most of my Ella Moss clothes from here because they carry the newest stuff as opposed to Nordstrom's Savvy and elsewhere. I also got my seven jeans here. Whenever I come to Bloomingdales, I know I won't come out empty handed, even if I'm not trying to shop ;) In fact, I was there just yesterday, "browsing" after a hair appointment in union square, and came out with a new Splendid top. I absolutely love that they carry high end brands like Louis Vuitton and have a large selection of cosmetics, shoes, handbags (a great Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag collection) and clothing. read more
