I've tried Blue Collar Coffee twice now. The have great house and are opened later than a lot of coffee shops. They also have plenty of seating. The first time I visited the employees were friendly, and explained what the different tea options were. Today I ordered the campfire cold brew as I saw this advertised online. They were out of cold brew, so they made a campfire iced latte. It did have a nice s'mores flavor to it. My coffee came out quickly. They also have cards by the register you can pick up and get a stamp for every purchase to earn a free reward. read more

I was excited for another coffee shop to open on Mass Ave as I like to have options. Blue Collar Coffee opens at 6am so it's a great option for those early risers in the area or staying at Bottleworks.Upon entering, I immediately noticed the space is much larger than I expected. One thing to note, the coffee is strong. I usually enjoy an Americano in the morning without anything added, so this was my order. Wowzers - this was a bold brew. Blue Collar is located within The Bottleworks hotel. If you're staying there, it's the perfect spot for a quick coffee, or pastry. We visited before heading over to The Garage. The winter seasonal menu was posted and I went with the Winter Spice Latte. I like to keep my coffee on the lighter side, so I subbed Almond milk and sugar free vanilla in place of the regular. A good addition to bottleworks hotel! Staff are friendly, nicely decorated/aesthetics vibe with the hotel, and most importantly, good coffee! I love my americanos with half and half (and vet most coffee places with that order), and the first time I liked the coffee enough to try and find out what ruby coffee roasters was. The second americano didn't disappoint either I also noted the large tables and saw a lot of people working here. Definitely want to work from here on a less meeting intensive day for the atmosphere. I've walked by in the evenings after business hours, and the hotel bar seems to move into this space to tend to more foot traffic. They also have great drinks as well! read more

The coffee shop is attached to the Bottleworks hotel, but you can also access it from the street- anyone can go in! They have a lot of options- coffee, tea, smoothies, boozy coffees, etc. I did not get any food while I was here, but it looked like it was good. The latte was what I expected- it did not blow my mind but there is only so much you can do with an iced latte! Everything seemed fairly reasonably priced. read more

They have a good assortment of snacks and drinks here and the prices are reasonable. A very cozy coffeeshop located in the Bottleworks Hotel. My friend and I were looking for a place to study after lunch at the Garage. Interestingly, the Garage doesn't have a formal coffee place so we were directed to across the street to Blue Collar. They have the usual coffee options along with a small number of specialty drinks. I had a Honey Lavender latte, which was a perfect pick-me-up from post-lunch sleepiness. They also sell coffee beans & grounds from Ruby Coffee Roasters, which is based out of Wisconsin, according to a quick google search. It's not a huge space, but there were a good number of tables available during the afternoon on a weekday along with some seating outside of the shop in the hotel itself. The perimeter seats also have access to outlets for those with older laptops, such as myself. A great coffee option on Mass Ave for those who can't find a place to sit a Kaffeine or want to go somewhere that isn't Starbucks. read more

I went here every day, sometimes twice a day, to get my caffeine fix and I was always thoroughly impressed by the staff and the quality of the other food is very tasty and great. I really liked this place. Was nice environment in the bottleworks hotel across from garage food hall. Big space to sit indoor or out on patio. Uses roaster out of Wisconsin (rub). Had single origin Ethiopian on drip which was very good and their cold brew nice and smooth, light bodied. Their oatmeal blueberry cookies were delightful. Heated up with some whipped cream even more delightful. They also have nice grab n go options such as Brulee banana chia with cocoa nibs and peanut butter. Service was great. read more

I love the seasonal lattes also. It's in a large, industrial chic setting. Terrible. Iced coffee was warm. I ordered and paid for 2 food items in advance. As I was waiting to receive the food, my order was given to another customer and I was then informed that the items I had already ordered and purchased, were sold out! Great way to start off my wedding day! Lastly, when I got back in line to get a refund for the items that I did not receive due to the mistake of the store, the employees did not know how to process a refund to my credit card. I am still unsure as to whether I will be receiving this refund or not. The employees were non-sympathetic or apologetic to the situation and as a matter of fact, they seemed outright irritated at me as a customer. I've been here before and thought it was pretty good. But, this morning, my girlfriend and I ordered an iced coffee with some cream and felt horrible the rest of the morning. I'm talking nearly passing out driving home. Felt sick for an hour and so did my girlfriend. I drink coffee every day and have never felt that way after. If I didn't know better I would've thought I'd been poisoned. Had to golf in the afternoon and had the worst round of the year so far...Wouldn't mind getting lessons soon. The coffee was great - got a honey vanilla latte with oat milk. The baristas made it with a perfect amount of frothed milk. The space is nice - lots of small group seating, roomy, nice bar at the front facing out to Mass Ave. We went for breakfast too. Probably should have changed our mind when it became clear that the sandwiches are premade, plastic wrapped, and refrigerated but we tried it anyway. The bread was nicely fluffy but the sandwich left a lot to be desired. It was a round yellow egg puck, slightly watery from the reheating process. My sausage patty didn't fully reheat and stayed pretty cool in the middle. My husband's bacon slices at least got warm but they were definitely not hot or crispy by any means. After waiting in line patiently, it was our party's turn; the person behind the counter immediately instructed us in a condescending way to make sure masks were securely/completely covering the nose. It wasn't friendly but smug then she proceeded to tell us we could keep looking at the menu...while she turned her back to us and started working on some equipment even though another woman was behind the counter and not busy. Blue Collar is such a perfect hidden gem by Bottleworks! Very spacious and lots of tables for studying and visiting with others. There is a "pay it forward" station, which allows for everyone to get a coffee. The staff were excellent and gave great recommendations. I ended up having a vanilla americano and egg/cheese sandwich. I stopped in when this place first opened up along with all the other businesses in the Bottleworks. It's a super cool spot that definitely has a Midwest feel to it. The coffee is great and they have a good variety of drinks and food. There were a couple of people who were working from the tables, so I may have to join them someday. Will definitely add this place into my local coffee shop rotation. Also, they offer loyalty punch cards! read more

I've been here several times now, and Blue Collar is my new favorite coffee shop in Indy. The lavender honey latte is so tasty! Love it! I've also had food there. I really love the croissant breakfast sandwich with egg, ham, and Swiss. Their other two breakfast sandwiches are also good, but the croissant one is my favorite. For lunch, the chicken pesto sandwich is good. I like their homemade chips, too. They're seasoned with something that's sort of a cross between Indian spices and BBQ. Hard to explain, but they're good! (A shade greasy, so not for every day, but still yummy.) I've taken lots of friends there to try it out, and all of us have enjoyed it. It's large enough that tables are nicely spaced out, and there's an outdoor seating area, as well, that's covered. It's really nice. Staying at Bottleworks. I order four coffees. While making the coffees the spout for espresso machine handle falls onto to the ground. The employee picks it up and puts back on the handle and proceeds to making my coffee like nothing happens. I ask, wasn't that just on the ground. He denies it. I'm looking at him the whole time. Highly recommend if you consider yourself one of the "beautiful people."I've read the reviews and agree the coffee and most of the food items are good. Price wise based on the location they are fair priced. I've visited several times on different days and different hours and only one time have I been greeted. The staff has always been efficient but I want to know when the happy people reported in some of the reviews work. These people don't smile, don't speak just go about emotionless. This is typically a sign of a poor or inexperienced manager. I sat in the shop for 30 minutes this afternoon and the 2 ladies and gentleman working spoke more and shared amongst themselves more than the customers. They may survive because of the hotel. But a faithful following may be hard without some more personality. Blue collar by definition is an every man a regular person that works hard loves strongly and is committed to what they do.
