My girlfriends and I love this place! They have a great selection of pizzas, with various crusts options, along with refreshing salads & appetizers. We recently had the Pear and Arugula thin crust pizza, along with a the great Meatball one! The Meatball pizza reminded me of a great Italian dish just placed on top of a delicous deep dish crust, instead of pasta. To complete the meal a must have is their Carmel Apple Bread Pudding. Yum! This is possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. The East coast chain Pizzeria Uno does deep dish better than this, nevermind Patxi's. The crust was grainy and falling apart, the toppings were horribly distributed: a complete BED of spinach 1/4" thick at the bottom of the pie along with a few pieces of sausage and other toppings here and there. The sauce tasted like Ragu. Honestly I've had better pizzas from Domino's. They should be ashamed of charging so much money for an abomination. read more

Came here for lunch right when they opened on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a large BLUE LINE and WHITE PIE (half & half) to share between 4 people. Waiter gave us an estimation of 30 mins before pizza was ready and he was correct. Both were pretty good for VEGETARIAN options! Flavor-wise, I preferred the Blue Line because I liked the spinach ricotta/feta along with taste full-bodied garlic taste. I did enjoy the roasted zucchini on top of the White Pie, but would maybe prefer they cut back on fresh tomatoes since it made the pie a bit watery. Of course the CORNMEAL CRUST was to die for and I didn't even miss gluten. Things to note: - It does take ~30 mins to make the pizza, be aware if you're in a time crunch. - Menu stated a LARGE was for 4-6 people, but it was just enough for our group of 4. My friend and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. It was quite busy. We were greeted right away and was given a nice seat outside. We both ordered a beer (not a bad selection). We ordered the half and half (white mushroom and the chicken) in their famous deep dish format. Deep dish takes about 30 minutes to make so if you are hungry go for the thin crust. The pie was pretty good and they also provided honey for the crust because is liken to corn bread. Overall, it was a good experience and the service here is not bad. Pizza famously falls on a continuum of "Uneatable" to "Too Fancy," with an extremely broad band between the two being equally delicious. Blue Line occasionally veers towards the fancy end of that spectrum, but generally avoids the trap. Is it the best pizza for the price? Probably not. But what you get in return is an extremely versatile, pretty reliable venue that can accommodate deep dish lovers, the gluten-free crowd, date nights, quick bites, and a variety of other use cases. I think I fall among the rare minority who aren't a huge fan of this pizza. It could be because their vegetarian options are simply not as good as their meat ones. But I've had vegetarian deep dish pizzas in other places which were just marvelous. Allow me to elaborate: I got the deep dish Aphrodite which comes with cherry tomatoes and basil. The size of the large pizza is good enough for four hungry people. The pizza was fresh and warm and served with a special tomato sauce. All good. My issue was with the fact that the amount of cheese seemed lacking - especially considering that the pizza was deep dish. The height of the pizza attested to that. It was simply not like the traditional deep dish pizza but was some sort of combination between a thin crust and deep dish. This impacted the entire taste. It was well made otherwise but this skimpiness in cheese impacted the overall flavour and experience. I did like the garlic bread which looked like a mini pizza itself and was light and airy. Normally, I am a "throw the crust away cause why waste the calories" but Blue Line pizza's crust is actually pretty delicious, at least on their deep dish pizza. But what really changes the game and elevates this crust from like "yeah sure it's pretty good" to "omfg yes" is dipping it in honey. SO GOOD. I don't even normally like cornbread. Deep dish pies I've had that were tasty: - Free Bird - Tipsy Pig - something else that I forgot I think the greek one but it was also delicious. The small deep dish is the perfect size for two people. It lets you have about 3 decent slices each. I'm a pretty hearty eater and that was the perfect amount to not feel like I'm dying but also not be hungry, though I would recommend a side of something as well for that well rounded meal feeling, but my friend was perfectly fine with just the pizza. And while $21 for a small pizza might seem expensive at first, when you break it down to $11/person it's actually really really good. Their bruschetta and their garlic bread are also bomb, especially their garlic bread. Can you say cheesy heaven? I also got their shishito peppers last time and they were good, but not really anything to rave about. If you want to feel vaguely healthier order these. I've eaten in a few times, but my most recent time I used their curbside pickup and wow - my food was ready right when it was supposed to be, and I called the dude and he came out to my car. It was fantastic. I think one of the times I came before for pick up I had to wait a little bit, which was not as great, but the couple of times I've come here most recently have been great. Horrible! I had this pizza Doordashed and it was just gross! Undercooked, thick sauce, cheap cheese, I think eating the box would've been more palatable. Blue line used to be decent as I ate there in Los Gatos and it was decent but I regret just not going to Safeway for a frozen pizza which is light years better. Yes I got refunded most of our money but my family is still hungry, time to get the Pepto out and settle for a bowel of cereal! Great 49er game wish the pizza matched! While this wasn't the best deep dish pizza I've had, and there are many other great options in the area (Zachery's in Berkeley comes to mind), this place still was pretty good and the taste overall was enjoyable. The pizza itself is a little bit on the sweeter side, but I still was able to enjoy it nonetheless. We had the Italian Combo, which came with a good variety of meats, and the pizza itself was quite hearty and flavorful. Got the bbq pork sliders and pesto chicken pizza. The hawaiian roll for the sliders was toasted perfectly and there was a smoky chipotle sort of dipping sauce that added a little kick. The pizza quality has gone downhill. The preparation is not executed well. We've noticed it in our last 3 orders. It's everything from overcooking the thin crust pizza, rubbery cheese, the flavors don't really sing or meld together well, and overall more bland. The texture of the meatballs in the pizza is really chewy and sinewy, not soft and tender. $30 for a large thin crust pizza is too much. The consistent disappointment has turned us off from ordering, but if you're going to do it get the thick crust instead. read more

Easily obtained a spacious 4 top for only 2 outdoors on a cool summer night. They turned on the heating lamps. We ordered half Caesar salad and half bacon & blue salad-- we finished both! Crisp and refreshing. Small deep dish Chicago chop with bacon, sausage, salami, and pepperoni with mozzarella, smothered in rich tomato sauce, a few pieces of tomato here and there along with pepper flakes mixed in. Was saltier than I like, which makes sense because of all the meat. One slice and I was out. Forgot to add mushrooms to this. Wild Mushroom & truffle oil thin crust pizza had it going on! Win win. Ooey gooey cheese. Truffle oil. Mushrooms basking in said truffle oil. Heaven. All that's missing is fresh arugula and shaved pecorino. Leftovers boxed up. I'll return for that thin crust and will try something simpler like sausage & mushroom deep dish, exactly what I had in Chi Town last year from Tortorice's. I usually only like Neapolitan or really thin crust pizza, but this Chicago style deep dish is fantastic. I've tried a couple of different vegetarian options, but always gravitate back to the classic Blue Line. It's a good mix of flavors and textures with their chunky style sauce. Other tasty options are their roasted peppers, organic mixed salad and citrus super slaw salad. Really friendly staff, good service and nice casual atmosphere. read more

Have been to this place a few times and usually have liked this place but it has really gone down hill in my opinion. Wait staff non attentive and appears a friend was in visiting and all the staff seemed to decide to congregate and socialize over by the bar counter. We ordered a pizza (overcooked) and salad and and when the waiter dropped it off and asked did we need anything else I said yes our salad we ordered would be great. His look turned to "oh damn, I forgot about that". That was because he spent 15 mins in that group socializing instead of focusing on his job. We ended up finally getting the salad which took another 5 to 7 mins to be delivered to our table. No one ever came back to ask again if we needed anything or inquire if everything was OK. We had to ask for a box for our left over pizza which would have been the clue to get our bill. Waited and waited and then had to finally ask to get that. All in all the whole experience totally turned me off of ever going back or ordering pizza from this place again. Thought about asking for a manager but would have made me even more furious if there was anyone there assigned responsibility based on the unprofessional staff we observed. If management or the restaurant owner reads this I suggest you get yourself involved and work on improving how your staff presents themselves while at work. We came to have dinner at this establishment on 04/13/19 and it was a huge letdown. We were seated promptly and this is where the problems began. 1- After being seated, we were promptly ignored. We sat there for a good 15 minutes without any acknowledgment. I made eye contact with several servers and then they would look the other way. I mentioned to our table that we should just leave and go to another restaurant since there are so many other great restaurants within walking distance. Just at that moment a server named Jenny (I asked her name) started to attend us. 2- Jenny continued to provide us with service, and it was shitty and she made us feel like we were bothering her every time we needed something such as napkins. 3- The straw that broke the camel's back is when Jenny ran our card with the wrong amount. When we asked her why this transaction showed the wrong amount she said she would reverse the charge. She did, and then ran the card for the "right amount". HOWEVER, when we checked the bank this morning the card was charged the WRONG amount which funny enough is over $20 extra for no reason. It looks like the server might have pocketed the overage? This is unethical. 4- We called the restaurant and spoke to Mariam (sp?) and she argued that the transaction was fine and that she would send us a transaction amount to verify that they ran the card for the right amount. HOWEVER, I called our bank and they have stated that the transaction for the wrong amount has cleared. Mariam said that it wasn't the case and she argues that the card was charged for a lower amount. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! IF YOU ARE PAYING WITH A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD, PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. DO NOT TRUST THIS ESTABLISHMENT AS THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOU AND THEY WILL HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO HOW IT HAPPENED. Really enjoyed this pizza joint in Mountain View! I came here on a Sunday night during sunset and sat in their patio area. I love how there is outdoor seating with heaters! We ordered their large pizza which was enough to feed the three of us. The small comes with 6 slices while the large comes with 8. I love how you are able to do half and half which allows you to choose two different types of pizzas. GAME CHANGER!! We ordered the wild mushroom and white truffle and pesto chicken. We all enjoyed both of them! The pesto felt a bit lighter and I like how there were onions and bell peppers on it. The Mushroom and white truffle was really flavorful and delicious! I had to call in my order instead. Tonight for the first time an AI system took my order, very slow to get a simple pizza order, a waste of my time where I could give the order to a human in 10 seconds. I finally got the simple pizza ordered and was sent a text message confirming the order, I show up and they don't have a pizza made. I am now waiting for 30 minutes for them to make my pizza. I won't be ordering many more times unless the technology vastly improves, the online ordering should be quick and simple but works only occasionally which is crazy and frustrating. Now with not being able to call an actual human and knowing my order went through, I may choose to go to a store and save the hassle. Upon walking in, we ended up just seating ourselves because the employees were in the back of the places looking busy. The drinks were good. I think we realize we're not really Chicago deep dish pizza type of people. I love BJ's deep dish pizza because the crust is like a pan pizza but deep dish. But here the pizza crust is like very rough like cornmeal? Just a very rough texture which we didn't really like. I think next time if we do come here again..we would get the other type of pizza which my boyfriend said would be similar to the garlic bread which would be better. Also, the bbq chicken was so much bbq flavor. like too much. If you're a big fan of bbq, then maybe you would love this, but I don't like the overpowering bbq flavor. Because we decided to go with thin crust instead of deep dish this time around, the food came out relatively quickly. Our party of 4 chose to go with the mushroom and truffle oil as well as the aphrodite. By far, all of us liked the mushroom pizza better, even my husband who is a self proclaimed non mushroom eater. We also got an order of the meatballs to share which were cooked well and had a nice layer of cheese melted on top. They didn't have the honey and other toppings (cheese and pepper) on the table which would have been nice to have, but not absolutely necessary so we just went without. Overall, getting two small thin crust pizzas as well as an app was enough to leave all of us feeling pretty satiated. Stopped by here with a friend for a quick lunch a few days ago and compared to all the other pizza places around, its bar none. Since I had a hearty breakfast, I decided to order a personal sized Meatball pizza (I believe 9''). With COVID restrictions and everything going on, we sat outside under some umbrellas they had provided, which was really nice as some restaurants don't provide shade to customers. We got our pizzas after about 10 minutes of waiting and the aromas coming from it made my mouth water. Compared to other deep dish pizzas I've had in the Bay, Chicago, and the Midwest, I believe Blue Line's Pizza was definitely on my top 5 list. The sharp acidic flavors from the red bell peppers along with the savory homemade meatballs made my mouth almost tingle with excitement. The highlight for me, however, was the ricotta cheese I would get with every other bite. It made the pizza not super mundane and added a great twist that empowered me to finish the entire thing! However, I do have to say the sauce layer was a little too thick for my liking, but that's probably just my personal preference as I'm not a huge fan of tomatoes. In the end, I would 100% recommend anyone who hasn't had Blue Line to come over and get a pizza. In all my trips to this area, I had never been to Castro Street and Blue Line. Unlucky me! We hit it right on a Sunday night and walked right in. Our pizzas took 25-30 minutes since they were both deep dish and cooked to order -- they warned us ahead of time in case we were unaware. I highly recommend the thick crust pizza as being worth the wait. You can build your own or choose from their list of creations. There are many options, including many more vegetarian choices than you see at most places. Can't decide? They will let you go half and half. Our group of 4 got a small BBQ chicken and a large half Aphrodite and half Wild Mushroom & Truffle oil. Both were good, but I preferred the Wild Mushroom one. In addition to these less conventional pies, you can go for the more traditional ones, like the Italian Combo ( pepperoni, salami, onions, green bells, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, mozzarella) or you can start with cheese and add the toppings you like. We didn't do it this time, but their wings are excellent: crispy on the outside with a crazy dry rub and perfectly cooked on the inside. At a pizza place. You've got to try the wings.
