We haven't eaten here in years but ordered a few of their deep fish pizzas on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised! I remember not being a fan of their deep dish when I first tried it, but I liked it better this time around. We ordered the Blue Line pizza to compare, since we love Zachary's spinach deep dish, and this seemed like a close cousin, albeit with ricotta. Alas, it just wasn't as flavorful as Zachary's spinach pie, which amazingly manages to shine even without the added umami flavor that meat often lends. We also ordered the Chicago Chop, which is a classic meat pie, but none of us were really a fan. It just lacked flavor, which is pretty shocking, given how many fatty and salty meats are in this pizza (pepperoni, bacon, and salami just to name a few). Our favorite ended up being the Free Bird, a chicken pizza that was flavor packed. My ranking would be the Free Bird followed by the spinach, but my husband liked the spinach least. I'd still say I prefer Zachary's spinach (as well as their deep dish overall) and Patxi's, but Blue Line is still a solid choice. A solid spot for pizza with tasty options, and a few vegetarian ones too! They had a cute outdoor seating patio and you could really easily order and pay. The food was brought out to you and the waiters were all super nice. I liked the half and half option for the pizza so we could commit to trying two different types without getting two pizzas. We got the classic Blue Line and Aphrodite! The Blue Line was pretty tasty and I totally get why it was a favorite. The Aphrodite was also really tasty. My only (mild) qualm was that the toppings weren't always spread super evenly so sometimes someone got a slice that was entirely mushroom or sundried tomato but it didn't detract from the taste. Overall, a fun spot with solid pizza -- I would stop by with friends again! We got the thin crust this time but will definitely have to try the deep dish sometime. read more

I think it more reasonably can feed 3 ppl. The toppings are great and everything tasted good. The cornmeal crust is good but just a bit dry for me. I'm still a fan of Zachary's but Blue Line comes in 2nd and will do the job for your deep dish cravings. read more

On Tuesday February 4, 2025 Late Lunch Rainy day, I ordered a Cesar salad, and A deep dish pizza, both were good, But I have a food Intolerance to Tomatoes, so I had to scrap off the layer of Tomato paste, then I could eat it, the other thing that I noticed that can be changed immediately is how you serve water to the customer which can be done without picking up the customers glass to refill it, get a (long neck water dispenser (wine bottle clear) and you can fill the water glass without lifting the customers glass off the table or the (transmission of viruses) by handling of objects that the customer has touched. I've seen it done in French Restaurants. Other than that, I can see why the restaurant industry is NOT busy, maybe these little changes will help. Maybe a little more light in the restaurant especially on a rainy day to make it look for cheery. read more

Such a clever name and homage to the Blue Line train in Chicago. Came here for a social event and had the opportunity to try a variety of thin crust and deep dish pizzas including their Little Star, and Chicago Chop Deep Dish as well as the Free Bird, Honey Sausage & Arugula. The cornmeal crust is super tasty and delicious. The deep dish pizza were good, but I like mine with a bit more sauce and cheese. Overall, flavors were on the sweeter side. Service was very prompt and staff were super friendly! We tried the truffle mushroom and the Italian with the cauliflower crust since the fiancé can't have gluten. I tried for the first time the large dip dish Aphrodite pizza (12 inches is the largest version). This establishment has plenty of outdoor setting with many other restaurants in the Castor street. They have contact less menu at each table and heaters around. The staff were very friendly and the food was ready fast. The pizza was not bad, but I won't give 5 stars because I was definitely not impressed with the dip dish crust. I love bread and left the crust aside. Overall we had a fine experience but a couple noteworthy things: Their tables inside all have wobbly issues, as we walked in we saw an employee sticking pieces of wood under a few tables in an attempt to make them even. The one we were sat at was also a bit wobbly. And we noticed tables near us were where multiple tables were put together to create a bigger table had the same issue of misaligned table tops. This may just be a personal preference thing though. Ordering takes place through Toast Tab and it's all manual after scanning the tables QR code. They offer two different size pizzas (personal/small and large) and a variety of toppings and house creations. We ordered a half and half large: half tipsy pig and half bbq chicken. The jalapenos on the tipsy pig were incredibly spicy -- my lips were tingling! And the BBQ chicken had no shortage of chicken or sauce. We also had a plate of wings and beers (4). Total, with tip, was only $100 and I feel it's more than reasonably priced for the quality and speed. I'd had Blue Line bookmarked for a bit and I'm so glad I finally made it in! I'm always looking for a cool pizza place to hang out at and when I came across Blue Line Pizza I simply had to try them out. After much convincing, my new boyfriend finally decided to come with me. The decor is beautiful with their wooden tables and chairs almost feeling very homely. I guarantee though, there is nothing homely about their pizza. She checked in on us multiple times and even helped us with extra plates and such for our kids bday cake. As a sister restaurant of Little Star pizza, Blue Line is a bay area chain that is just amazing. The deep dish pizza isn't too deep/thick, but it's just the right amount of dough, with the right amount of toppings. The BLDDP has spinach blended with ricotta & feta, mushrooms, onions, garlic, mozzarella, marinara sauce. I did not think I would like this pizza, let alone love it, but boy was I wrong. A small/individual BLDDP is perfectly sized for me. I ask for extra marinara sauce on the side as I don't think the pizza naturally comes with as much red sauce as I would like. Eating this pizza is worth every single calorie. When taking it to go / if not eating immediately, I recommend heating it back up in the oven prior to eating to get that incredibly gooey center. As an east coast native raised on NYC and New Haven thin crust pizza, I'm a bit stuck up when it comes to my pies. However, friends have been swearing by Blue Line so today for dinner I decided to give it a try. The Mountain View location has outdoor seating which was perfect for a warm spring day. Two friends and I ordered a small Pesto Chicken pizza with the gluten free crust and a small Italian Combo on regular thin crust. What a surprise! The Italian Combo had a lovely balance of veggies and meat, pulled together with the best thin crust I've had so far in the Bay. The Pesto Chicken was a bit less flavorful, but was balanced well by the surprisingly flavorful gluten free crust. My friend happily noticed that one of the pizzas had green peppers while the other had red! I really appreciate these kinds of small details in my meals. The two small pizzas were more than enough for the three of us; we each took a slice to go. Even though we were seated outside, we got prompt service: our water glasses were never empty and the waiter came over twice to check on us. Overall, I highly recommend! Personally during these crazy CV-19 times I don't expect much, especially for a pick-up order, but the attention I received when I arrived was exceptional. They even offered to bring my food out to me if I wanted to wait in the comfort of my car I ordered a deep dish Chicago Chop and the oft talked about cornmeal crust didn't disappoint. I thought the pizza would be soggy since the bottom of the box was wet, but that wasn't the case. You would think that the crust would need to be extremely tough in this case, but that was far from the truth. The crunchy crust is thin with an airy dough layer sitting in between all the ingredients. I was expecting a heavy saltiness since the ingredients included pepperoni, sausage, bacon and salami, but everything blended together well to create an overall balanced flavor. I liked that the thin pizza crust was crunchy and held up under all the juicy ingredients and sauce. I find most pizzas these days are too soggy or too dry so Blue Line definitely does it right to me. I would definitely go here to fulfill my pizza cravings read more
