The food and service in the morning is amazing I felt right at home and the food is par none

I hadn't been here in 20 years for good reason, it wasn't that good. My wife and I decided it was worth another try and again it wasn't that good. Went for breakfast. She got the banana bread french toast and I had an omelet. The french toast was two small dried out tasteless pieces simply fried up with a small amount of egg...that's it, that was all that was on the plate. My omelet was two watered down eggs with a lot of spinach and a speck of cheese. Add to this the waitress was void of any warmth and personality. I see I am in the minority here but our experience was lack luster. Maybe we will try it in another 20 years. read more

Food was pretty much what you would expect. Not out of this world but not terrible. The server was very nice and immediately greeted us. The atmosphere was like a diner from the 50's good music, aesthetic resembled what I would imagine it would really be like, so that was fun. Ps. Hash browns were a little undercooked. read more

The restaurant decor and building I give 5 stars it's like it's own time capsule. The food on the other hand didn't live up to all the reviews, maybe it's because we came in on a slow day and had breakfast and they are known for the burgers. My vegetable scramble had raw broccoli and partially cooked potatoes which was not pleasant. My husbands corned beef hash was house made and he loved it, but it was a small portion and he helped finish mine. The price isn't too high but the portions don't match the price. When I'm heading west towards the beaches I'd stop to try the burgers, but I'll check this off my Breakfast list... read more

I heard that familiar noise in my belly telling me I better get some food in there fast! Blue Moon Diner looks and feels like a moment captured in time from the 50's. Stephanie took such good care of me that I hung out for a bit talking with her after enjoying a very delicious and very filling tuna melt. I need this whole new paragraph to talk about the fries. Oh, the fries! I'm not a food connoisseur (without Siri, I couldn't even spell that!). Yet, I CAN tell the difference between fries that came out of a bag vs fries that were made fresh from a REAL potato! From the size of the serving, this was one really big potato too! Now although I was plenty full, the whole case of pies was calling out to me as I sat there drooling. Stephanie suggested the Coconut Cream pie, and she wasn't wrong. Outstanding! Overall, it was a great lunch and a great visit. I'll be returning for breakfast soon to enjoy the Banana Bread French Toast. Yup, you read that right! read more

This is like an old school diner and it's has great food too! I recommend the onion rings, and a long time ago I used to go here for some delicious pineapple malts with a friend. The malts are HUGE portions for a large. I was a big fan of their salads and breakfasts (those omelets and pancakes are really good!), and I remember I got some killer meatloaf there a while ago. If you want an authentic diner experience, this is the place to go! read more

What an incredible step back in time this place is! From the decor and music to the food. It's ALL about the total dining experience with a 50's feel, which I love. It is every bit of the way a real diner should be, with incredible food and service. I'd eat here every meal if I could. I've yet to have anything that isn't out of this world, but I particularly love the tuna melt, malts, and fries. The entire menu is what I would call comfort food. Retro classic dinner interior with Frank Sinatra & Co. crooning away makes you feel comfortable if grew up with these along the roads, especially back east in New Jersey, the land of dinners. My friend had a Eggs Benedict that he really enjoyed with a special commendation for the home fries. I had a perfect Club Sandwich, stacked high with ham, turkey and bacon. My French fries were excellent! Great service. My only complaint was I first wanted blueberry pancakes and they didn't have blueberries available, which I thought was extremely odd. Food was as excepted that's why it's not 5 stars. If something was amazing about the fries, or the milk shake we got I would've given it 5. Just okay. I was really craving biscuits and gravy and found Blue Moon via Yelp. I have to say, this was pretty much average. Our server was great - very friendly and helpful. So, biscuits and gravy - not too bad. The gravy was a bit bland, but some black pepper helped. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. I also ordered 2 sausage patties on the side. The sausage is tasty, and the patties themselves were a really generous size. My companion ordered the liver and onions. This was a disappointment. The liver was so overcooked it was practically jerky. Although he did say the flavor was good. The veggies had some kind of strange seasoning on them that was kind of sweet and the gravy was not enjoyable - it seemed like it was from a packet or something. First this is the cutest 50's diner. Since COVID started we have gotten takeout from here almost every Sunday morning. Their portions are amazing, the food is wonderful, the cleanliness has been very detailed, and the staff is great. We have a newborn and choose not to eat at restaurants still and to do takeout only. The owner remembers my husband and often brings him our order. If there is ever a mistake in our order she literally remembers and gives us extra goodness the next time! How does she remember with so many customers, so impressive. We love this place and can't wait to be able to dine in when we are personally more comfortable. read more

We haven't been there in years and decided to try it again for lunch. my husbands Rueben made him sick. I didn't eat most of mine, I had a turkey, cheddar bacon melt. The fries look terrible but didn't taste too bad. My sandwich was so greasy, the turkey was barely warm, the bacon was almost all raw, just not good. Lunch was $48 with tip. Mediocre service paired with mediocre food. Wanted to try It out and brought the kids in on a Sunday. Food wasn't good, no one finished it and we ended up getting something else right after. They kept forgetting to refill our drinks, didn't bring items we requested, had to ask twice, it wasn't busy there were many available tables and I can see why. Probably will never go back. Visited today for the first time. Had a BLT and a Reuben. Great portion size, fries were crisp and fresh tasting. Loved the Thai iced tea as well. Decor was cute, like a 50's diner with appropriate music and uniforms. Place was very clean as well. Highly recommend! read more

The coffee tasted like instant coffee, absolutely disgusting. The corn beef hash obviously came from a can and was by far the worst I have ever tasted. The food is good, no argument there. Ambience is pretty good; looks clean. Problem: value. If one is going to charge $7 for a milkshake, it really should be larger than a typical frappucino cup (I'd guess 16 oz.). It's pretty difficult to come up with a hamburger worth $16, and I don't think even Dead Robin tries to charge that much for theirs. Read through the menu and make up your own mind whether this sounds spendy or not. For me it's not a bad thing if it's spendy, provided I see the value in quality and/or quantity. Here, not so much. This would be a four-star place otherwise, but value matters. read more

Tldr: They charge diner prices for food that's about the same quality as a aramark-catered university dining hall. We ordered takeout - I got a grilled chicken sandwich and my partner got a bacon cheeseburger. Ate here on Sunday morning June 13th only to be served food that when I took a bite had a piece of plastic in it. Showed my server (whom I've been told is the owner) and she asked if I wanted a different meal or the same meal hold the plastic pieces and I went for the same meal refired jus hold the plastic pieces. At the end of our meals my friend picked up the tab to which I was grateful however later that night she said to me how did that come to $45 and change and I was like wait, our server didn't comp my meal? And she was like no, In fact it seems she charged you for both the plastic piece plate and the plate without plastic pieces I called Monday June 14th to complain only to be told to call back tomorrow. The food was good but I must say there's not one restaurant i can think of that the owner wouldn't have been mortified that this happened and all owners that I know and even don't know would try to make it right! Ummm...no.... I think 3 stars is pretty generous because the food was awful, but the Thai lady server was very kind. I get it..cute retro silver Diner was saved by a Thai family who owns 2 other Asian restaurants (my credit card receipt listed both of them), but why try and run an American diner? Why not just stick with Asian food? I mean American menu with Thai food sprinkled throughout it is weird enough but the American style food just wasn't good. The pulled pork was boiled and oversauced, the biscuits flat and hard, and the fish and cbhips were frozen. The french fries were the hit as the exception. Thank you for trying to rescue an American style diner and I do love me a fusion retaurant, but my suggestion would be to take out the Thai bits, hire a cook that specializes in American Diner food and let it just be one type of restaurant. read more

My son and I just had dinner at the Blue Moon Diner courtesy of Amazon Local. I thought the atmosphere was cute with retro counter stools and lots of chrome edging on everything. The service was good. Then American menu was fine - burgers,sandwiches, etc. They serve breakfast all day. Apparently they also serve Thai food but you have to ask for the " Thai menu" as it isn't advertised. I only found out after my food was served. My son loved his burger. The portions were huge. Prices ranged from $9.95-$12.95 . I had the stuffed hashbrowns- hashbrowns with bacon, onions and cheddar and topped with two eggs over easy. I would have liked the onions cooked a bit more. They were kinda raw. I think we'll come back and try it once more. The food wasn't AMAZING, but it wasn't bad either. It's worth a visit! read more
