Everytime I come to Northern California, I really crave some delicious Chinese and specifically Cherry Pork. It's a rare one to find but we found it here and it didn't disappoint! Blue sky Chinese is located in a small strip mall with a very small parking lot but it has all the elements of a great Chinese restaurant. Going inside it has that great Chinese restaurant feel and has a fairly small amount of seats within. We were greeted quickly and seated for all nine of us The menu is very extensive with many great choices that I will say will not disappoint your taste buds. We got the hot sour soup, wonton soup, Kung Pao, general chicken, cherry pork, broccoli beef, walnut shrimp and chow mien. I will say every dish was really good and the veggies within the dishesare really fresh too. Really happy with each dish! The cherry pork was one of the reasons why we went and it was great! It has a nice cherry sour taste that is deep fried with a nice portion of pork within. Really good dish! My second favorite dish is the kung Pao. Really saucey dish with great fresh not overcooked veggies. I would order that every time! The only negative I could say is it seemed like the water tasted a little funny but was probably from the cleaning solution for the dishes Really it was a good solid restaurant that I would return to. Came in for the first time as needed some hot n sour soup for my sore throat. I asked the aizes of the soup and was told a small is galf a cup, a medium is 2 half cups, and a large is a full cup and a half.... confused, the menu says 2-3 people for a small, so I referenced that and was told no, not really. That being said, I met in the middle and ordered a medium size (see photots). Legit 2 cups but only full half way. Very strange measurements. What I will say is I have had hot n sour soup dozens of times from many restaurants and never like this. Only visible ingredients were tofu and egg with lots of pieces of red peppers. My coworker has been recommending Blue Sky to me for weeks, stating they're really good and affordable. Well, I decided to take her word for it and called an order in! It was about 11:30 when I called and ordered my lunch plate of orange chicken & chow mein. I was told it would be 20 minutes, which I thought was an overestimation but glad she gave me that quote. When I walked in the restaurant was packed and I understood why she told me 20 minutes. They had a huge table dining in and several people waiting for their to-go orders. The space is limited and the location is a little difficult to get in and out of, but the cost of my meal was totally worth it! For $6.79 I got a full plate a food that fed me for lunch & dinner! Their orange chicken was really tasty. The sauce was thick and sweet. They also gave me a huge portion of it. The chow mein was a bit bland but tasted better when I mixed the chicken sauce with it. I was also given a veggie egg roll that was fried to perfection. You really can't be an under $7 meal like this! read more

I feel like I needed to revise my review of Blue Sky since I first posted back in 2017. A lot has changed in the restaurant business since the pandemic. The last few times I've ordered from Blue sky, the quality of ingredients has declined and so has the effort to prepare. My order of wor won ton soup was dismal. The broth was like water and had no depth of flavor. There was small pieces of bone fragments (assuming chicken here) in the broth. Each wonton had several pieces of grizzle the size of pencil erasers in them. And they do not clean out the digestive tract of the shrimp they use. Very disappointed. read more

Having this place bookmarked for awhile now after seeing Dan and Carol's reviews I was excited, Mother's Day came along and I made a call to see how busy they were. They were open and said we have plenty of seating inside, but our to-go orders are busy. Well they weren't kidding, I guess every mama was ordering in Chinese on Mother's Day and the bags of to-go orders were piled high! Tho a bit of a wait, to be expected for a holiday, we were brought our food and everything was hot and you could tell it was all made fresh! For my daughter, boyfriend and I, their Mandarin Dinner we ordered that serves 2, the portion was WAY more than that, lots of leftovers! My toddler ate just as much as we did, she loved everything and continued to say more please, which was great! First they bring out Wonton Soup, which is poured into bowls by the server and the soup is left on the table if you want more. Very delicious and packed with vegetables and meaty wontons! Second they bring out a couple Egg Rolls and Wontons to share, very delicious in the sweet and sour sauce provided and both have a nice crunch! Lastly they bring out the Almond Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and Steamed Rice. The almonds made a nice crunchy pairing with the flavorful chicken and the sweet and sour sauce soaked that steamed rice adding a sweetness I quite enjoyed! I'd recommend this authentic Chinese restaurant, on weekdays they have great lunch specials and the staff are very friendly! I was satisfied with the meal and I'm already looking forward to our next visit, probably to order some Honey Walnut Shrimp, since it's one of my favorites! New to the area and I have been searching for some delicious and soul soothing Chinese food. I've tried a few others and they've been bland or just off somehow. Then I found this spot. Broccoli and beef, beef sooo tender, broccoli still had a bite to it, not soggy. And the flavor was perfect, needed no extra sauce or spices. The orange chicken is delicious, other restaurants have soggy over sauced chicken, this orange chicken was crispy and saucy. It's hard not to eat the whole thing. House fried rice and wor wonton soup was full of vegetables, large shrimps and meat. And I didn't have to add anything to the soup, which is rare. Portions are huge and we always have leftovers to enjoy the next day. I've only picked up food, dining area is pretty small and not set up for a ton of guests. We always are warmly greeted upon entering and service is kind and quick. So happy to have found our new go to Chinese food restaurant. read more

This place really is AWESOME. We were regulars at a different local Chinese restaurant but it's gone too far down hill in the last year. I stumbled upon this place in a review for another restaurant and thought I'd give it a shot. TOTALLY WORTH IT. The best sesame chicken I've ever had. I actually think about it during the week. The cherry pork is spectacular! Spicy garlic shrimp is fantastic! Broccoli beef is excellent! The combination fried rice could honestly use more peas and carrots and some green onions, but it's still really good and is a staple for our orders. I was craving My Shu Pork last night to go from Door Dash. It was not on the menu when I ordered online so I called the restaurant and she said they would happily make it for me. She said to order sweet and sour pork and put special instructions for My Shu so I could get it. Very helpful and kind with a great attitude! I ordered the Wor Wonton Soup and the Mu Shu Pork. When it arrived everything was hot and fresh. The best My Shu and Wor Wonton soup I have ever eaten! Tried this place a couple weeks ago with my mom while in town visiting. At first the area seems to be sketchy but thought we'd still give it a try! From inside it's super tiny with a few tables as in about 3ish which looked very clean and comfortable. The lady who took our order was helpful going over some options as it being our first time! As per usual I always order generals chicken, let me just say probably one of the best in a very long time!! It has the perfect crunch and was not soggy from all the sauce! The prices were very reasonable and the lunch specials are amazingly a fabulous deal! Don't hesitate and ignore the location it's in and try! You won't be disappointed!! Was this once a 4 star Chinese food place? Hell yes it WAS! I ordered $70 worth of food from my favorite Chinese food place, the only place I would recommend to anyone, and it was so disappointing I was laying in my bed when I remembered one of the dishes I had ordered was supposed to be SPICY. I laughed so hard when I remembered this. it was sweeter than sweet. There's no way ANYONE would ever call that spicy. The chow mein was swimming in liquid (soy sauce???) but still incredibly bland Strangely enough, when I think of blue sky I think GARLIC -- I wanted to say there was no garlic at all... Then I found the telltale giant hunks of garlic, but it just tasted nasty and off-putting and wrong // it was a terrible texture instead of being fried up and gloriously savory I used to pick out the hunks of crispy garlic and eat them like candy... Whatever y'all sent me last night was sad and wet and squishy and bland, and did I say sad? The only good part was that I ordered takeout Sitting inside of that sad to get this sad food would have just been overwhelmingly sad It used to be so good. Food is the bomb and their To Go packaging is great! This is my comfort food place to go. Their Egg Drop and Hot and Sour Soups are perfect in my book! Upset tummy, this is the fix. And I often order off menu getting Mushu and it's always so yummy! Everything from this place is wonderful and they're so quick to fulfill your order. My wife and I called in an order based on a recommendation from a friend. It is down the street and around the corner from the house. Ordered some won ton soup, hot and sour soup, potstickers and egg rolls. We were told 25 minutes for order being ready. They are very observant of social distancing. When picking up order they either bring it to your car or pass it through a door with a shelf and protective plastic panel. We both really enjoyed the food. I am a big fan of hot and sour soup. Both soups were well packed for take out with styrofoam cups and then placed in tied off plastic bags. The won ton soup had quite a bit of fresh broccoli and sliced zucchini in it along with plenty of won tons and they were ample size, tender and tasty. Both soups were very hot, temperature-wise and the hot and sour soup was a bit spicier than I would have liked but enjoyed just the same. Tasty potstickers. Egg rolls crunchy and tasty. I ordered kungpow chicken and fried rice. I was so bad I threw it in the garbage. I was very disappointed with my dinner.

This is hella old-school Chinese! It's fine if you're not into ambiance but more into eating a CHEAP and filling meal. They were quite busy with takeout orders. Their basic combo lunch includes a cup of hot and sour or egg drop soup, a veggie egg roll, steamed or fried rice, and one entrée from a list of about 20 items, all for a whopping price of $5-7, depending on your entrée choice. I had the broccoli beef and my boyfriend had the orange chicken; both of us had the hot and sour soup and the fried rice. We also ordered the house chow mein ($6.25). Food was delicious and not too greasy. More flavorful than I expected, especially the fried rice. Service was average. Only one staff working who seated us, took our orders, served our food, and refilled water. Same guy who was the cashier and taking orders over the phone. He wasn't the friendliest but he was efficient and never let our water cups go empty. Food came out quickly too, and everything was hot. Another female staff came out later and said a friendly thank you and goodbye as we left. I can see how this is a popular spot and has its regulars. I would be too if I lived closer. Ordered delivery through Uber Eats. Packaging was amazing and containers were individually wrapped in bags to prevent leaking. Food arrived hot. Veggie chow main was tasty and not oily like others. The spicy garlicky eggplant had a lot of great flavor but it was too oily for me. It went really well with the chow mein. I ordered some orange chicken for my kid who only knows Panda Express' and he really enjoyed it. It had lots of sauce, slivers of garlic, and the chicken had great texture- not soggy. The uber eats app lets you order friend wontons but doesn't specify that they're plain wonton chips. The menu for delivery is limited and lacks a lot of details. Can't tell you about food because they would not serve us. We walked in and they stared--- deer in the headlights... Finally one of the employees walked up but did not greet us-- just stared. Had delivery dinner tonight from Blue Sky Chinese. I ordered 3 items: wor wonton soup, crispy chicken wings, and dry braised green beans. So, so disappointing. The soup broth was watery, the chicken wings were heavily breaded, greasy, and seemed on the verge of spoiling, and the green beans were not dry braised-they were in a gooey sauce that tasted like it had tomato catsup in it-definitely not dry braised. A-OK. We originally came here since there are Blue Sky locations in the bay area that have been around for a long time. I think these might all be franchised. Decor is set up very similarly too. Food was good. Portions were large. Food was reasonably priced. No complaints there. Service could use improvement though. This location is small, but they were terribly understaffed. We were originally quoted 40 minutes wait. We got seated within 15 minutes. It took a little while to order since the restaurant was nearly full. Apparently there is a demo table, but I don't understand why since it is lacking space. But anyways, our food items came out one at a time....and there was 4 of us, so it had been about 20 minutes until the last of our items came out...so one of us was done by the time the last of our items came out. I had to request my tea second time and it came out nearly immediately. I know they were a bit scattered due to being short staffed, so hopefully next time is better as the food doesn't disappoint. read more

The chinese is good here... the lunch specials are legit. The $6 general chicken combo is my favorite... just enough spice and not too much garlic so I dont get that certain look from co-workers.
