I really enjoy this coffee shop for their unique food offerings and good coffee. They have a yogurt parfait that is a little different than your standard parfait (in a really good way!) And I always enjoy their avocado toast which has plenty of avocado on top and delicious tomatoes and feta. I really enjoy their lattes and cappuccinos, I appreciate the smoothness of their espresso. Just be aware that they are a cashless establishment so bring a credit card! On a side note, the wait staff has always been extremely courteous to me and take the time to learn my name! read more

Great spot to meet up with a friend or two and catch up while eating some good food. Maybe it's because we came on a gloomy Saturday afternoon, but the place was not too busy which I liked because I hate going to loud, packed cafes. My friend and I ordered the classic baked eggs and the green baked eggs along with the aussie iced latte. I don't know if it was the extremely rich coffee or the food, but my friend and I were stuffed even before we finished our meal. On top of that, they offered us free pastries! My guess is because it was closing time? Next to the cafe was a library so you could definitely head over to do some studying or reading before/after as well. read more

After a 25 min wait, the two of us sat down. 30mins later we were asked for our drink orders. 30mins later our cold brews came. We put in food orders. Yogurt and avocado toast. 40 mins later we left because our food never came. Not sure if it's the service or the kitchen. But cold food should not take an hour. Cold coffee should not take 30mins. After writing my original review, I received a reply from one of the company executives. He was very interested in making it right, and his team did their due diligence to make that happen. I was very impressed with the timely response and assistance, so they deserve a second chance, especially since their food was of very good quality. Unfortunately, their system was not up to the task, and despite their continuous effort over a 10-day period (during the holidays, I might add) they were unable to produce a correct receipt (and yes, I had very specific date/amount/order information for them). My hope is that they begin to respond to their own company website contact emails rather than wait to act following an unfavorable Yelp review. Also, I hope that they improve upon their record keeping system. read more

Bluestone Lane is not only a beautiful café, but their drinks are fantastic. The staff is so sweet, welcoming, and always greet me immediately, with smiles on their faces! Huge waste of time trying to have a solo breakfast with my dog out in the patio. I arrived to see multiple open tables of all sizes and asked the waitress outside if I could take one of the seats. She said she would ask the host and that he would be right out to see me. 20 minutes passed and in that time a man who I can only assume was the host proceeded to seat almost all of the tables with people that had arrived at the cafe after I had. When a different waitress finally came out to see me I pointed this out and rather than apologize or get the host, with a significant snarky attitude she said "well people are waiting". This place exceeded expectations. After having heard about the coffee from a friend in New York at their Greenwich Village location, I knew I had to check this place out after it opened near my work! I finally got the chance to dine here on a Sunday. I came around 1-2 and there was a thirty minute wait, although it was a little long it was totally worth it. I came with two buddies and we were sat comfortably. To start off, the the lay out is awesome, our waitress, Malin (?) explained to us that it's meant to be an Australian theme and even though I've never been to Australia I felt right at home. We were checked in on several times throughout our meal and our waitress was very bubbly and knowledgeable about the variety of coffees they offered, despite my annoying questions about (almost) every single one. I ordered the green baked eggs and a Torquay (sp.?) juice. The green baked eggs were phenomenal, chimichurri gave it a great kick and the dish was nice and warm. Came here after visiting the Georgetown location a couple of weeks ago and it's a completely different concept. Mostly table service and Saturday was BUSY! We arrived at around 11 in the morning and there was already a wait for tables inside and out, the hostess quoted us a 15 minute wait, it wasn't that bad so we put our names in. I think we were finally moved to our table after maybe 20 minutes. Our server (Diego?) was great! He recommended the avocado smash with poached egg and salmon, since we are not sea food lovers, we decided to go with the prosciutto instead. The coffee drinks arrived promptly and they're insanely good but a bit pricey IMO. The food came after ~20 minutes and it was also top notch, I can tell the prosciutto and ingredients are top quality and at least here, the price makes the difference in the stuff you ingest. I'm looking forward to come back on a less busy day or time, since the noise level and acoustics of the building makes it hard to have a normal conversation. Nicely done Bluestone Lane! read more

$72 FOR BREAKFAST FOR 2!!! $72!!!!! This place is an absolute ripoff that nickels & dimes you on everything. I would have given it a zero if i could have. My daughter & I were there yesterday and ate outside. We ordered through the app: 2 orders of avocado toast and an order of banana bread French toast to split. We got one order gluten free which was an extra charge. We asked for bacon on one which was a $3 up charge. We asked for no cheese on one and no ricotta for the French toast - nothing was taken off for this. This came to $60 with the tip they automatically added in. The menu as we were ordering was very misleading and shared none of this in the prices. Then we forgot to order drinks so we went back into the app and order a coffee & a matcha tea. That somehow came to $12!! (With tip again!). I literally was charged for half & half for my coffee!!! Unbelievable . We went here because the menu looked like clean, healthy food and we wanted something different from what we have in Boston. We thought it was a smaller business & love to support small businesses. After we left I was shocked at what they charged us. They've clearly taken passing the cost of COVID onto their customers too far. Never again. read more

I wanted to update my review because after the CEO had read my prior review, he personally reached out to me and addressed my concerns. He asked that we return and give them another chance to make things right--- and make things right they did! We had a great experience this time. All of our prior concerns were addressed and rectified. As I said before, the food is really quite tasty, so that continues to not be an issue. It means a lot when a business owner reaches out personally and sees to it that issues are fixed. We also found that the new manager (Michael) seems to be more effective than the previous one. There will be outdoor seating and an outdoor bar set up in a few weeks and that sounds really nice. We will have to come back and check that out! read more

This is Washington D.C.'s worst restaurant. I waited 45 minutes for my food, which was very average to say the least. I complained and the seating waitress talked to her manager and pleaded for me to come back the next day. I did and was told that there were no tables, although there were several for seating 2 to 4 people. They just want to fill seats and make money. No interest in providing a good customer experience. Arrogant waiting staff and clueless managers running this place. Save your money and do not go! For a place with so much potential based on location and architectural style, they have the opportunity to offer a classy experience. I had baked green eggs which were delicious--plenty of spinach and other very fresh vegetables. My son had a poached egg on avocado, which he enjoyed. Good lattes. But they were all out of juice! The best thing about Bluestone is their coffee. We had an iced coffee with ice cream. It was a real treat. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The cafe has clearly gotten into their groove- this time the service was MUCH better, someone was waiting at the door to direct customers to their tables, and the coffee was perfect. New review for this D.C. cafe. This go around I had a wonderful prosciutto egg roll sandwich, very good with a perfectly cooked egg. And although I am not the biggest fan of prosciutto, it was a tasteful combination with the chutney, however, the price was ridiculous. Absurd. The only thing that made it worth it was the service. Malin (I now know how to spell her name) who was my server my first visit, was even more articulate, competent and compliant to my parties needs.
