Char-grilled oysters are amazing. No dish we have tried so far (on three visits) has been even marginal; all delicious! Even the poutine appetizer is fantastic, who would have thought to drizzle she crab soup over french fries and fried cheese curds? I ordered the BW Platter and specifically told the waiter that I wanted it grilled. The platter came out fried. I told the waiter that I ordered grilled, but he never offered to take back the fried food. The fried grouper and shrimp was soggy and greasy, the oysters were very tiny and were mostly breading. My wife ordered the Coastal Platter which was so-so. The char broiled oysters were very tiny and over priced. We never received our salads and bread. We had to ask. The waiter served these items after we finished our meal. Our water glasses were never refilled, even on request. Our first and last time. There are much better seafood places in the area. My husband and I have visited the Blue Water Grill several times now and we love it. I loved the Pompano Bacon wrapped shrimp. I tried the appetizer as I am not a big eater and the shrimp were a nice size. And the raw oysters were large and fresh., So far my favorite is the Gumbo! If you have never tried the She Crab Soup, by all means do. It is awesome. We used to have it at Pompanos in PCB. The staff is very outgoing and friendly and it is a pleasure to go there for a very amazing meal. We are still trying out the menu and we have had the Cream Brûlée. So...night one was just to check out the place. We were impressed with the atmosphere and the staff. While sitting at the bar just having drinks we met this wonderful woman who had just finished eating her meal and she raved so much about it we decided to come back the next evening. Day two, we came back to check out their food. They were running specials because it was "restaurant week" here in Columbus GA. They had three 5 course meals. From beginning to end we were totally impressed. I did not have to use any salt nor pepper for seasoning at all. My hat goes off to the chef. We ate at the bar. Our server/bartender was Gwendolyn, she is a gem. She made sure we had everything, she was very attentive. Not to mention she remembered us from the night before. The food from the first course till the end had my mouth singing with joy. There was a party in my mouth. I ate here last week for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised! First of all the staff is very friendly. Our server made great suggestions and kept our glasses full even though she was very busy. We started out with cheese curds. This was my first time ever eating cheese curds and I would definitely order again. I ordered She Crab Soup and the Bluewater salad. The soup was amazing and it could be a meal by itself. The salad had a flavorful dressing and was tasty, but I probably would not order it again. It is a wedge salad and it was difficult to eat. My friend ordered shrimp and grits and enjoyed it as well. We both agreed that this is a new favorite! read more

Excellent service. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. Oysters on the half shell were cold and delicious. Large portions and a lots of great menu items. I have never taken the time to leave a bad review for a restaurant in my life but this was the worst. Way below my wife and I expectations and standards. My wife and I was recommended to this establishment by a friend. My wife walked in as I was parking to put us on the waiting list, which she was told that it was a 30 min wait. 30 min went by so we followed up at the front and the girl told us it'll be another 15 min. While waiting we watched people walked in without reservations and got seated. Seems like everyone were regular customers. After 25 minutes we were finally seated and all of a sudden they told us they ran out of menus. As hungry as we were we still had the patience to wait for that the menus even though we already knew what we wanted to order by checking out the menu on their website while we initially waited. After 10 minutes of being seated, no one came to our table to asked if we wanted any drinks or place an order. At this time I was already angry and so was my wife. After a couple was seated next to us, they were approached by a waitress immediately after being seated we looked at each other got up and walked towards the door. As we were walking out the same girl who called us to be seated just said, "have a good night," as if we had ate already. I told her we wasn't served and she just responded with "Good Night." Words can't express how I felt. After that. I kept my mouth shut and decided to spend my money elsewhere. I would never recommend this place to anyone especially anyone of color. read more

We were slightly concerned when we pulled up to the restaurant given it is attached to a gas station. However, this was one of our best dining experiences since moving to Columbus. The food was spectacular and the service was on point. I would have given five stars but the air conditioning for one side of the restaurant was out the night we visited. Oh, man, where to start! The beers were ice cold and the selection was outstanding. The grilled oysters were outstanding and the seafood gumbo was off the scale good. The grilled fish tasted as though it came right out of the ocean. Service was better than a 5 star Michelin and the owner came by the table and greeted us. Very personable and friendly, this was a super find after a long, hard day of travel. We regularly head to South Carolina but have always gone through Atlanta. This food was Amazing. Tucked off past the airport away from the regular strips, this is a must for seafood lovers. The selection might be short of a typical restaurant but the flavors they produce will tickle your pickle even after you leave. My friends and I sat there and kept telling each other we needed to try our meals because they were just too good to not share. Forks going every which way, there wasnt a disappointing look on any face. When you arrive, the adjoined gas station really throws off your expectations but once you enter the doors its a quickly relaxing vibe. Filled with old timers mostly at the opening hour (5pm) this was a relaxing venue with a full bar and allowed us to carry conversation without the typical noises. The hostess was a gorgeous young brunette which is always a plus(she has a ring, so slow down there cowboy). Our waitress, tho very nice, had a hard time with the specials and lost us within seconds but she was prompt with refills and really did look out for us as she brought each round of food and the drinks were well mixed thanks to the bartender(also nice to look at). We ordered the MahiMahi, Shrimp Pompano(the best), Shrimp and grits, Bluewater Shrimp, and Cheese Curds. The table Rolls were soft and warm, the main meals were to perfection. when it came to desert, the Keylime(homemade) came out a tad on the room temp side, the brownie(not homemade) reminded me of the one you get from PapaJohns. The creme brulee(homemade) very sweet and yummy with the right crisp to the caramel. definitely worth it to go here. The Creole-Tupelo sauce is to die for. read more

How is it possible that there is not a line of people winding down the street waiting to get in? Food was incredibly delicious. Service great! What a treat to have this restaurant in our community! I had grilled grouper and scallops, my husband had catfish & grits. We are old, but we have never had such perfectly cooked and seasoned seafood as this. It comes with a salad and rolls, served speedily, no need for an appetizer, and with side dishes which were also outstanding. Fine dining in an unpretentious but nicely decorated atmosphere. It's a bit expensive, but so is Red Lobster! We felt it was more then worth the price! Even if you think you do not like seafood, you will find this food to be fantastic! read more

I had seen the Bluewater Grill commercials on TV several times recently, so tonight my wife and I thought we would try it. I was a little apprehensive when we found the restaurant next to a Chevron Food Mart, but once we got inside I was very impressed. The service and food was exceptional. We had Shrimp Pompano for our appetizer and it was truly delicious. My wife had an oyster Poor Boy which she throughly enjoyed. I had the Golden Shrimp dinner it was also delicious. We got to the restaurant at 5:30 PM and were easily seated. After that the restaurant quickly filled. read more

I kept seeing the commercials for this place on tv and decided to pop in and see what it was like and I really enjoyed it. It was crowded, but we got a table quickly and the waitress took our orders. We did have a small wait for the food and the waitress apologized, but there really was no need to apologize because I wasn't in a hurry and I was enjoying the atmosphere of it. Let me share with you a most amazing dining experience. The secret of the Bluewater Grill in Columbus, Georgia will soon be out. Cuisine of this caliber will not go unnoticed. Our experience began without waiting for veranda seating on a beautiful spring evening. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant. We were soon greeted by a very friendly waitress, named Amanda. By the time we chose an appetizer, she returned with our beverages and warm rolls, which I must say were quite tasty. We shared the Cheese Curd Appetizer, the best Fried Cheese Curds wrapped in perfectly seasoned breading, South of Wisconsin. Just before the last tidbit of Cheese Curd, Amanda brought a crisp, fresh tossed greens salad with their excellent Citrus Vinegrett House Dressing. My wife chose Shrimp Pompano as an entry, which proved to be an excellent choice. Substantially sized shrimp, wrapped in bacon, Flat Iron Sauteed, seasoned to perfection and drizzled with a creamy sauce. I had the Bluewater Flat Iron Cajun Seafood Platter, which was an equally excellent choice. Wonderfully seasoned, but not overly spicy, Flat Iron seared Grouper Fillets, Oysters and Jumbo Shrimp. We both enjoyed Cajun Smashed Potatoes, garnished with shallots and parsley and Seasoned, Sweet Corn on the Cob. To top off a most enjoyable dining experience, I treated myself to what can only be described as the best Key Lime Pie Ever. As luck would have it, the only thing that could possibly have improved the ecstasy of my taste buds, Barry White began lightly singing in the background, over the sound system. My experience at Bluewater Grill was complete, completely, wonderfully enjoyable. Give your significant other and yourself a treat.
