The most painful experience I've ever had moving. They had my stuff in a warehouse in CA for an entire month, saying that they couldn't find a driver to make the trip. Every week I would call Dispatch and a different person would tell me the same thing: "At this time I can't tell you when your stuff will arrive." Eventually they made it out here, and unsurprisingly they lost some really valuable things of mine. Most notably two rugs that were valued at $1,500 together. Just completely lost - didn't even make it onto the truck! They also lost small things like the legs to my bed frame and a bench I have for the living room - leaving me with incomplete furniture that I now have to deal with. I read the bad reviews on Yelp and thought, eh well it can't be that bad. All moving companies have their downfalls. This was truly the worst. Don't hire this company - you will lose valuable possessions and never hear from them about it. read more

When it comes to moving, we all know what a huge stress it can be. Questions such as How can I get a reasonable price? Or How do I know that my possessions will be handled with care? come across your mind. With BLVD moving all those stresses were completely relieved. From the moment I called up and spoke with employee Matthew, and heard his reasonable and respectful explanation on how things go, I knew it was going to be a good experience. He assured me that my items will be handled with care for a very reasonable price. And let me say, was that the case! Great move. Joel and Chris helped me with my move on premise and ROCKED IT! I hadn't been to the property in question in years and didn't know what we were walking into, but they rolled with the punches and helped me out in what otherwise could have been a scary situation for myself and my girl friend who was helping. They helped me box miscellaneous items that we hadn't known about and the packing materials cost extra but were really reasonably priced (usually there's a huge mark up!). They even helped me with my mom's big jewelry box and fitting it JUST RIGHT in my car! Even with the associated stress that a move has inherently, I wish I needed to move again just so I could book with BLVD! read more

In April I moved to NY from CA and I hired Blvd moving . They are very professional and they do care about the customers. I ran in to little complications and Jennifer who is a manager at BLVD moving resolved my issues and worked under stress and pressure along with my complaints. Jennifer was patient and also professional with me. If it wasn't for Jennifer from the beginning I wouldn't know what to do. I went with Blvd moving because of Jennifer in the first place. Jennifer is the best at Blvd moving and in my personal opinion, she should be in charge of customer service. Do Not Use Them! Do Not! RUN! Go anywhere else. **Edit; June 20, 2018. First the good news. The movers finally arrived. The guys were wonderful. They unloaded and helped to unpack. They were kind and respectful and very helpful. They deserve Kudos! They were the only bright spot in a horrible experience. Now the rest of the story: 201 mile move. Small 1000 sq ft home with very little stuff. $4,500. Wanna know how to get them to get your stuff delivered? Write a bad, yet truthful, review. It wasn't an hour after I posted the review that I got a call from the dispatcher. He wants me to edit the review. Ok, here ya go. It doesn't get better. Two phone calls later at 5:15pm I hear the truck is leaving LA. That puts them at my location no earlier than 9pm. When I pointed this out all he had to say was 'we are delivering it today as promised'. Right... 8pm, get a call from the driver (God Bless that poor man) explaining he is 2 hours away and expects cash or a money order. We had agreed on a credit card. 10pm delivery. WHO DOES THIS? We cannot be moving at 10 to 11 pm. We are putting stuff in a retirement community. Got ahold of dispatch and agreed to 8am this morning. Finally! Finally! They don't even have their own trucks. They are using rental trucks. What real moving company does this? Know this: I started this process with Matt at Starving Students in LA. I will be reviewing them too. The minute he hears you need moved he begins the hard sale of calling you EVERY single day saying how important it is to get you on the books and getting his 10% down payment. If you want out of the contract you forfeit the 10%. He promised he would take care of things and help me get my aunt moved 200 miles. We had talked about them doing the packing and picking up everything but the stove. Moving day came...he no longer is helpful. It is now in the hands of BLVD Movers. No one to pack...that is going to cost more. You told me you would do it. No mention of that BS of 'not on the manifest'. No mention of leaving things behind. The truck sat in the middle of the street for who-knows-how-long till they could bring packers out. Then we had to cough up MORE money. They packers wouldn't bring up plastic bottles of water. They wouldn't bring up paper goods. You name it is was, 'we don't move that'. Then everything gets moved to a warehouse in North Hollywood 'until we can get a truck moving north'. I'm convinced that if I hadn't left the review I did the stuff would still be there. I'm not home. I've not opened any boxes. I'm scared to death to see what they have broken. Maybe it is because I have never had to move anyone 200 miles from a distance. They were contracted by Starving Students to move a relative 200 miles north out of LA. I don't know if the blame is on Starving Students or on BLVD Moving but it has been horrible! Some of this could be my naivete at moving. Do NOT fall for their reassurances that they will take care of everything. First I had NO idea Starving Students would sub contract. Second, while extremely nice on the phone they were awful with time lines. Who takes 7 business days to move 200 miles. When I called to get a confirmation of the delivery I was given a window of 8am to 12pm; unless they don't make it in which case it would be 24 to 48 hours later. WHAT? Who Does This?? **next day update, I got a call very quickly after I left this review and they are moving my stuff. Took them another 5 hours to take it out of the warehouse and get it in a truck. They wouldn't move everything in the house. They wouldn't move paper goods from Costco as they said it wasn't on the manifest. It was IN THE HOUSE! Remember I said I arranged everything from a distance. There were 4 lamps in the house, they said only 3 listed on the manifest and they wanted to leave the other one. Really? Who does this? Which part of everything except the stove isn't understood? They would take nothing out of the garage. Again the BS of not on the manifest. We lost two dressers. They were not going to take any yard statuary, all very sentimental; we had to stuff things in boxes. I doubt very sincerely that anything will make it unbroken. I'm scared to death of what will come of this. They just cheated an 88 year old woman out of too much money and left behind too many things. Find a different mover. Find people who care. Do not use this company for your move!!! I originally gave them 5 stars as our initial move out of our house went very well but then the nightmare began. We were ready to move into our new home and stored our furniture and belongings with Blvd moving which we thought was in their Northridge location. I wanted to go to the storage unit to see what we would like to move to the new location and leave the rest in storage. The dispatcher informed us that all of our things were sent to their warehouse in Riverside and we were never informed of this! So then I scheduled for them to bring everything from Riverside to our new home. The movers arrived and off loaded the truck. The most expensive items were broken and damaged. We were absolutely horrified. The sofa legs were completely broken off, the bed frame snapped in half with mouse droppings falling out of it, an antique expensive side table broken, another expensive side table broken...they use an outside claims company and after taking the time to photograph all the damaged items, filling out the claim, they said we would be reimbursed $138! We figured there was about $10,000 worth of damage! Next time we move we will move everything ourselves or use a much bigger more reputable company. Heartbroken and full of regrets the day we called and spoke to that snake sales rep David and his wife Jennifer to book the move. I had a horrible experience with Blvd Moving company moving from Los Angeles to Texas. The business scam they pulled in Texas was sad. The driver called me on my phone saying our moving truck won't be able to get into our complex due to its size. Now my apartment is only about 100 yards away on the third floor. Then the driver goes on to tell me for $375 more we could have a shuttle come to pick the items up to bring to your apartment. I then told the driver the management team in my apartment complex said big trucks come through all the time. The driver refused to move the truck or open the door until I presented proof of our balance of $1450. This is what the dispatch of the company in California told him. Then the two movers proceeded to unload my things in front of my apartment complex. I am very upset by customer service and consideration from this company. They also tried to raise my final moving cost from $1450 to $1683. Well as you can see by the photos it took me, my 18 year old son, my wife and mom over 3 hours driving back and forth walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. I paid the Blvd moving company the balance $1450 for a incomplete job, the Blvd Moving company should be sending me back some money. They do not care about you or your belongings or anything else except making money. They caused a flood in the apartment I moved out of and caused me to lose my $4500 deposit. Then they promised me they would reassemble all of my office equipment and audio equipment but when they unloaded nothing was found. They couldn't put my desk back together because the screws were missing and no sign of what box my desktop computer was in. No idea where my stereo equipment was thrown in. All my clothes were thrown in boxes instead of being hung on bars in wardrobe boxes. Many pieces of furniture were damaged. They shipped a table leaf to me that they forgot to include with my belongings and that was broken. I could go on and on....THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE and I have moved a lot. Finally heard back from their CS Manager (Brian), we had been playing telephone tag. He took issue with my 'before my very eyes' statement. Kept asking 'Did you actually see them put it back on the truck?' Unfortunately, very few criminals alert you to their deeds ahead of time. It would have been nice had they announced: "Watch me, I'm about to steal your picture and put it back on the truck!" Within 2 minutes after their employee had been fondling the picture and inquiring as to its value, it was gone! Dear Brian, 95% of the folks who are serving time have been convicted on far less 'circumstantial' evidence. Fellow Yelpers, bad karma in dealing with BLVD. We moved form California to Pennsylvania in July 2018, unbelievingly they moved my stuff within seven days it's amazing, They kept me posted over phone about the truck movement (periodic updates like once every 2 days), so that I could plan accordingly at the destination. BLVD Moving is a great company, their customer service is great and the pricing is competitive (they do what they say.. service as well as the charges). Here is some thing I want to share really important. One of my TV was misplaced and some of my furniture was damaged during the move. I called BLVD moving and they have bought me a brand new TV of the same model (Yay!!), and they have paid repair costs for my damaged furniture (needs little paper work though, but is worth). I will count on BLVD moving for all my future moves and also recommend to friends. It would have been really helpful a lot, if they could move my car as well. They had a preferred car moving company but they were expensive :), I had to choose another one. read more

This is a terrible company! Do not trust them in shipping your goods! I went through budget moving broker to contract with Boulevard movie from Chico California to Bloomington Indiana. I was told that although they have a 30-day window for delivering the goods, that would probably not take that long. On loading my household goods, they wanted to overcharged me for the bill and my daughter noticed the discrepancy. They arrived with a truck that was about 17 feet and was half loaded with someone else's stuff. When I told them I had requested a larger truck, they told me a larger truck would cost me $400 extra, and I would have to wait until one was available. I could not wait because I had given notice at my apartments and I had to leave on time, so I had to end up leaving some things behind, and a lot of things were strapped on the back of the truck, looking like The Beverly Hillbillies! The driver kept saying he hoped that he could avoid the weigh stations. The budget broker told me I would have to pay a surcharge if I was not in Indiana at the time my goods arrived and I paid the surcharge of about $400. When I arrived in Indiana, my goods had still not arrived! I kept calling, asking where my household goods were. I was told that they were in the warehouse in California. Again and again, I was told different stories: the truck would be loaded with in a few days, the truck broke down, they didn't have enough drivers, (with current immigration issues, I get it!), etc, etc. Finally, the drivers called saying that they were on the way and that they wanted money orders, unsigned with the receipt attached! I won't go on with this because there were many problems and it was a total nightmare until I finally got my goods. I had to call the sheriff because when the driver arrived they were still asking for unsigned money orders with attached receipts on their arrival! To summarize, I sent them an email, requesting they returned any money that was owed to me from the surcharge or the overcharge of weight. They said they would get back with me the following week after my request and I have still not heard from them! These people are very shady and sleazy! Do not trust them! read more

On 8/13/2019 after i reviewed the contract I decided to Cancel it, because of to many loopholes in it,and the way the final billing is done.At that point i called Matt freedman and asked for my deposit to be returned to my CC. He told me he would let his Accounting Dept know and i would get my $100.00 back to my CC in 3 days. I have yet yet to see the money back on my CC. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I'm updating my original review because I am beyond upset with how things went after my items were picked up. I would give them negative starts if I could. I was promised that my things would be delivered before Christmas by their sales rep Cameron. They never once mentioned to me that it would be a 21 day delivery window until the day they came to pick up my items. Then, once they picked them up - they decided to give me the run around for several weeks. Telling me it will be loaded tomorrow when I called and then never giving me updates. Every single communication I have had with this company involved me hunting them down to find out where my things were. They are way past their delivery date and missed their guaranteed 21 day window. On top of that. They said my items would be delivered yesterday and suddenly they had "truck trouble" and even though I was in direct communication with dispatch, they never once told me and I waited around all day for nothing. I took off time from work and was told it would be here today between 8-10 am. It's now way past that time as well. It's insane to me how negligent and unprofessional this company is. I have been attempting to speak directly to a manager or a high level decision maker at this company, however the employees keep passing myself and my husband around to each other saying that there is no management. So you mean to tell me I am supposed to trust a company carrying thousands of dollars of my personal property that has no management and cares so little about their customers? This has been the worst nightmare company to deal with. They completely breached contract and refuse to compensate us for our time and troubles, and they refuse to have a managing associate directly contact us. An apology and explanation would be nice although I'm sure we will never get that. I'm also going to be reporting this company to the BBB so they can be fully investigated. It looks like other customers have had equally horrible experiences. Do not listen to their sales tactics. It's absolutely bait and switch and they will all lie through their teeth. If you are considering hiring BLVD MOVING COMPANY, I suggest you read the following; My furniture was picked up in Phoenix Arizona on 12/20/2020 and I have not received delivery 35 days. And BLVD Moving Co. has not provided a date for delivery. I contracted BLVD Movers on 12/14/20 to move my furniture from Phoenix Arizona to Chicago Illinois. I signed a "Binding Agreement" to pay a total fee of $6782.00. I paid a down payment of $282.00 at that time. My furniture was picked up from Phoenix on 12/20/2020 and BLVD movers changed the contract and charged me an additional $905.00. I was told the previous charge was a mistake. I was then required to pay $3702.50 half of the total charge before the movers would load my furniture. This was a common used "bait and switch" tactic used at the eleventh hour when a customer has no other alternative but to accept. It was agreed that my furniture would be delivered to my new Chicago address on 10/04/2021. On 12/22/2020, I contacted BLVD via email to dispute the additional charge. On 12/28/2020 I contacted BLVD again via email to dispute the additional charge and to inquire when I could expect delivery. On both occasions I did not receive a reply to my emails to Movers BLVD Re-location agent. Additionally, on 12/28/2020 I received a email from BLVD Customer Service agent informing me that I would not receive delivery on 01/04/2021, and that it would be the middle of January 2021 before it could deliver. No exact date was given. I called BLVD customer service on 01/08/2021 to find out when I could expect delivery, I was not provided a delivery date. I called BLVD re-location agent on 01/09/2021 regarding delivery and the additional charge, and was told he would check on it and get back with me. However he has not got back to me. As of today (01/23/2021) it has been (35) days since my furniture was picked up and my wife and I are still waiting for BLVD Movers to deliver our furniture and personal belongings. We have been waiting at our home in Chicago since 01/04/2021 for delivery of our belongings. It is the middle of Winter here and we are without change of clothes, coats and other day to day living necessities. We are sleeping on the floor and compelled to order food to eat because we have no cooking/dining materials. I am a 71 year old Disabled American Veteran. I suffer from various medical disabilities and conditions. My wife and I are enduring great anxiety, discomfort, pain and suffering as a result of BLVD Moving refusal to deliver our furniture and personal belongings, or to provide information as to when we can expect delivery. BLVD continues to provide excuses for its non-compliance with the binding contract, while my wife and I continue to suffer. It was worst experience for me with BLVD movers. 1) First when the sales person came, he was so nice and told that they are the best movers in town, they deliver fast and with care (so though it was expensive i went with them), but when the actual move came, i was suppose to vacate the phoenix house on 6/29 and i gave a 5 days window until 6/28), but they did not come for pick up.. i had to call them multiple times and say harsh words and finally they came with Budget truck on 6/29(night) instead of there semi.. but i had to leave phoenix, so did not argue... 2) In the destination they told they will deliver on 07/03 (Note - it was a short distance move from AZ to CA - less than 500 miles). They never turned up.. i called them several time, most of the time went to voice message(not sure they did not take my calls after seeing the caller id)... they said they have a window of 7 days from 07/03(my preferred date) to deliver it. but i asked them it will take 7 days from AZ to CA ??? and more over the date should be from 06/29(pick up date).. but i waited for 7 days window from 07/03 (note: we leaved with my two little ones with out any beds and things for 12 days). I called them every day, but when the 7th day came they said they never guarantee that they will deliver in 7 days(as per the document that i signed it has a larger window of 30 day + lot of clauses like weather, god, traffic etc may cause the timelines) 3) Finally i said, if you dont deliver it today, i will sue your company.. i had to be harsh with them.. At last they delivered it on 07/13 afternoon ( when i checked with truck driver, he said my things arrived CA 2 days back, not sure why they did not deliver, until i said i will sue your company if you dont deliver it today. 4) and finally to all the misery - the broke most of the things.. damages to tv stand, dinning table, lamps broken, missing shelves etc.......... This is the absolutely worst moving company ever in my experience. $7k estimate for 10,000lbs, $21k+ cost...upon arrival did not unpack (for $21K!) so now we have 100 boxes to self unpack and are left with all the paper and boxes that now fill up our 3 car garage! I had to find someone to move my personal belongings in December 2017 from Northridge to Westminster, last minute (the next day.) We had sold our building, I had just had surgery so it was a very last minute deal, and they had no problem, did not try to gouge me or take advantage of my circumstances. Fontaine was my delivery driver. He couldn't have been nicer. He was very fast in unloading the truck and helping me check for all my items. Qualified Review As a contract engineer, I have moved at the very least 15 times in the past 15 years. Sometimes I had to move myself, other times I had the money to have someone to pack and move me to my new location. When I tell you I know I am talking about when it comes to moving, you should pay attention. In April of 2017 I decided to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama from Los Angeles, California since the company I was working for shut the project down due to funding. I found a website where I could get multiple quotes from various movers without picking up the phone, so I did just that. Holy shit the phone was ringing off the hook for weeks. I finally gave into a cute voice on the phone and gave her my business and a deposit. The following day BLVD movers (Matthew Brody) called me and I told him I was already contractually bound thinking I could get him off the phone. He asked who I went with and I told him the company name and he said that it didn't matter if I went with his company or not but that he wanted to show me something about this company and give me a price estimate. I reluctantly agreed since I was curious about what kind of bullshit he was going to throw my way. Matthew showed up and I explained again that I was already locked in to a contract, He said no you are not and let me show you something. We looked up the company name and address and he showed me what is called in the industry a "reincarnation". This was a new one on me and I asked what he meant. Then he showed me on my computer that the company was so terrible in their previous dBa (doing business as) that the "rebranded" themselves and started up again in the same address but with different shirts and trucks. I investigated this and noticed that the reviews for this company were only a year or so old and the address was exactly the same. Son of a Bitch, that guy just saved me a shit ton of pain. Ok, so now I am picking up what this guy is putting down. We walked my entire apartment and came up with a price. He explained that in the unlikely event of a long carry or multiple flights of stairs there would be additional charges which I already knew about from the other 14 times I had moved. We talked about BLVD packing me and me doing some packing. We talked about particle board furniture and we talked about the process of what will happen and when it will happen. So, I gladly signed and gave him a 500.00 deposit on the spot. He told me they guys would be there on the 28th of April to pack me up and asked me when the first available date was I could accept the shipment. I told him the 5th of May which is how long it took me to drive to Alabama with a stop or two along the way to visit friends and family. I also asked him about moving my motorcycle as well. He said that it would not be wise for him to do it and that he knew a guy. He said how much do you want to pay and I said 750.00 is a fair price since I had done this before when moving to and from Seattle. He said he would make a call and have the bike mover call me. The bike mover called and arranged to pick up my bike on the 26th of April and I could tell right away this guy moved bikes. He picked up my bike on his trailer and left as scheduled. He made a promise and kept it. Barlow Moving is the company name and I will review him separately. He did a wonderful job and I will use him or recommend him again as needed. On the 28th, four guys showed up, as promised by Matthew. The guys worked like I had never seen movers work before. I had extra time on my hands before they showed up so I packed a good portion of my stuff to make the move faster for them. They did such a good job I gave them 100.00 each. They were very appreciative and cleaned up the apartment leaving no trash or damage as they left. I arrived in Huntsville on the 4th of May and I was exhausted and ready to get my stuff in my apartment as soon as possible. I knew from talking to Matthew that it was going to be 21 days max since the distance was over 2000 miles. I prepared myself as best as I could by bringing what I needed to exist on for the next 3 weeks. Sometime went by and I decided to check in to see where my shipment was at and when I should expect it. I spoke to Brian in long distance dispatch. He was very polite, courteous and told me that the shipment was still in CA. It took a while due to logistics not being the most dependable science in the world but they finally got my belongings on a truck headed my way. By the way, they use Roadway for long distance hauls which was fine by me. Well, today is the 22nd of May and my shipment was just delivered this morning. It took two guys about 3 1/2 hours to off load all of my stuff. I had to pay 112.50 extra for the long-distance carry since the truck driver couldn't get his truck in the space I planned him using. Those guys busted their ass as well, and again I gave them each 100.00 tip. They were grateful, polite and respectful of my belongings. read more

So this company reached out to me. They got my number from a box company that my realtor used as a gift. The sales guy asked me what items I needed moved. I told him what items I need moved and how far the move was. He said ok no problem this should take under 4 hours. He told he it's 450$ but if I leave a 50$ deposit on my credit card he'll do it for 400) today. I said ok assuming they're a moving company and the items I listed they should know the time frame to move them. It was basically the 3 beds,dressers, couch and coffee table all under a mile. I moved all the small stuff myself . So when they arrive they start loading and I said I'll be back I'm running to my new house. So while I'm gone they have my 80 year old dad who suffers from myastheniagravis sign a paper. Well now this paper says 4 hour minimum and charges if they go over that. So I get the bill when there done that it is now 530$ dollars. I argued with the employees and said that wasn't the deal. In the business world if a guy tells you what the job is and then you give him a price that's the deal. It's not my fault it took longer than the salesman estimated and quoted on time. Keep in mind they sent 2 guys to do the job. Which one of them dragged my daughters dresser down the stairs. Then left a scratch on the bottom wood flooring. Last time I checked movers carry things not drag them. I just paid them cause I didn't have time to argue. But I would not recommend them at all read more

We contracted to have our household goods picked up and stored for a month, than delivered to New Orleans. The crew that picked up and delivered our goods were great. The issue I had was with who is responsible for routing the truck. The driver called when trying to deliver the goods saying he couldn't get to our home because he couldn't make a right turn onto our street. He was very upset with his dispatch because he said they should have told him while routing him. Dispatch called and charged us an additional $850 so that the driver could rent a smaller truck, move our stuff to the truck and deliver to us. We didn't have a choice but to pay. I don't agree that we should have paid, but they had our stuff. It sure sounded like they were just charging us more because they knew we really didn't have a choice. DO NOT USE THIS DISHONEST COMPANY! I had the move from hell moving just a few pieces of furniture and boxes from LaQuinta Calif to Ft Worth, Texas. When movers arrived tthey did not honor their quote even though I had told them the exact size of boxes and measurements of all paintings and furniture. When it was delivered there was only one person, the driver, and he would not pull into my neighborhood because he was afraid he would scratch his truck on the trees, He immediately got out and measured the distance from his truck to my house and charged me $500. extra plus I had to pay another gentleman $500. to help unload and use his pickup to move items to my house. My sofa was not even inside the truck but had traveled all the way wrapped in plastic tied to back of truck. You can imagine the condition of sofa. We used BLVD Moving to move our 1-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff from LA to DC. I did a LOT of research before landing on BLVD because it was such a daunting move, and they seemed to have the best reviews for the most reasonable price. The sales rep made getting a quote quick and easy over the phone, based on the inventory I went over with him. He gave me a lot of helpful information to make sure I understood potential extra costs - like additional insurance or having a shuttle deliver our things if the 18-wheeler couldn't park in our new neighborhood. The move went very smoothly. The two guys who picked up our things in LA were really friendly and efficient, and handled our stuff with care. The separate guys who delivered our things were the same. Stuff was picked up and dropped off exactly when the company said it would be. The only negative thing I have to say is the staff at the LA office isn't very responsive in getting back to you after you book your move. They keep you updated with lots of info along the way - when the movers are picking up, dropping off, etc. BUT, if you call and try to get a hold of them outside of those communications, it's extremely difficult to get a call or email back. Not a big deal, since everything ended up going well, but makes life a little more stressful if you're paranoid about things potentially NOT going right...like me. read more

My BLVD crew of 3 showed up on time as communicated to me the night before and they were AMAZING! These guys carefully wrapped my furniture and were very professional yet down to earth. I should also mention that they were VERY respectful to my mom who was kind of getting in the way until I reeled her back in (you know Moms!). Once they packed up my belongings in their truck, they made a second stop to my BF's place and loaded him up! Ahhhh-MAZING! This was my first experience with professional movers and it was worth the reasonable amount I paid. As with any service, I like to add a gratuity which my BF generously gave them.
