If you come here, please note that food does take a long time. the staff is friendly and accomidating if you do wait. they have won awards for there beef noodle soup. but when i came here i ordered the dry beef noodle soup with all meat (im not a big fan of tripe) and the popcorn chicken. Dry Beef Noodle Soup - think a more condensed version of beef noodle soup. I do like the sister store mimi better due to their special hand cut noodles. Came here for take out for lunch, got Combo D with the Steamed Garlic Chicken with Rice which came with Napa Salad and a drink under $3.50. The Steamed Garlic Chicken tasted a bit strange and the texture itself wasn't very tasty. The Napa Salad itself I barely ate since it just didn't taste that great. It's pretty much napa with peanuts and a watery/salty sauce. For my drink, I got the Chrysanthemum Tea which I sadly regretted. The Chrysanthemum Tea tasted like it came from sewage water, yes, it was pretty bad. Wife told me to try it. So I did. It's way past the lunch hour so based on the picture on yelp, I ordered Bobee Fried Pork Chop rice. Service is fine. Food is not fine. Pork chop is not crunchy. It's salty and full of bones. I came in hungry so I was annoyed. The side dish was some kinda tofu with bean and they were really dry. The only good thing on my plate was the rice with that minced meat on top, and it's the only thing I finished. Server offered me Orange Yogurt Green Tea, which's on special BOGO. It was not on the regular menu. So I asked how much. She said $5. Hm, that's clearly not a promotion. I should have just asked for water but I opted to get a regular tea in that plastic cup for $2.50, which tasted just like tea. I walked out the store still hungry. I got suckered by Yelp pictures. Bad service and despotic clauses. I ordered lunch combo B and added an extra sauce. When I required check, a waiter announced they had a policy that only bills over $15 can use cards to pay, otherwise I had to pay with cash. I told him nobody told me you have such policy, and I didn't bring any cash. He replied with an impatient attitude that they posted the policy by the check machine (which is in a dark corner). Yelp review was not as high as I liked, but I really wanted to try their beef noodle. I ordered half tendon half beef noodle with wide flat noodle. It wasn't something that I would run around and scream for joy about, but it was good!! This is what I expect from Taiwanese beef noodle... Right at the heart! Soup reminded me of those cup noodle that I get in Taiwan, and I mean it as a compliment. Noodle was cooked well not soggy. Just right. My daughter (3yr) ate almost all my noodle so I asked if I can just order noodle. It was only .75 cents, and my daughter proceeded to finish most of that too. Beef and tendon were melt in your mouth soft. I also ordered seaweed small dish, which was garlicky and little spicy. (Yummy for me, not so for my daughter). Stir fried veggie and fish ball soup. Fish ball was good too. My next table ordered popcorn chicken, that looked really good. I gonna order that next time. This place has great Taiwanese food. I have yet to be disappointed. Some of my favorite dishes are the minced pork with rice, and the spicy chicken with rice. I also love their sides, especially the sour cabbage and garlic vinegar. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is the store is a little small and sometimes the wait is long because of the lack of space. I really wanted to love Bobee 5, but I thought the food was only so-so and I'm chalking it up to order the wrong things. First, I'm pretty sure that the milk tea was 99% milk. I thought right away that it looked really white and sure enough, it tasted like sweet milk with barely any hint of tea. I ordered the garlic chicken, which for some reason I thought was fried, but it ended up being a cold chicken roulade. I really don't like cold meat (especially chicken skin! Blargh!), but I had a couple of pieces. It was okay, very garlicky and kind of bland, but better with vinegar and soy sauce. My mom ordered the Bobee pork chop which was pretty good, but there's another pork chop that looks even more amazing. It's a huge, crispy thing - I'm guessing it's the regular pork chop, not the Bobee one? On the plus side, the beef noodle soup was really good and the minced meat rice was one of the best I've ever had. I would definitely be open to giving Bobee another try. Be warned however, that everyone around you will be ordering stinky tofu. And they call it stinky tofu for a reason. read more

Absolutely hands-down the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup (~$7) I've had in my life. Even my boyfriend, who keeps insisting that there's nothing in America that can compare to the traditional dish served in Taiwan, was quite impressed. They give you a choice of thick or thin noodles, or even no noodles at all. We both chose thick noodles, and my were they tasty! The texture was just right--not too dough-ey. As for meat you can choose beef, beef tendon, both, or none! The soup itself is extremely rich but not too oily! The cabbage in the noodle soup added a nice touch since they absorb quite a bit of flavor while sitting in the noodle soup. Overall, I must say, this was DELICIOUS. The food is pretty good and fresh but the service can use some work. I will say that the food is very authentic. They have lunch and dinner set menus that are pretty good value. They serve pretty good Taiwanese food and drinks here. Probably like top 5 around the area, and its also very affordable. What more can you ask for? This place is kind of small, so it can be crowded very quickly during lunch and dinner time. Service is pretty good for Taiwanese/Chinese restaurants standard, and the server is very friendly. They also have different buy 1 and get 1 free drinks daily. Plenty of parking, which I like. This is definitely a good place to eat from time to time. read more

Tried Bobee twice and I don't think there will be a third. Both times I placed a phone order for pick-up. The first time, when I went to pick up at the counter, the cashier/waiter insisted that the order sitting on the counter behind him was not mine, so I waited. 10-15 minutes later, the same order is sitting on the counter, unclaimed, so I asked again: "Nope, not yours." "Are you sure?" "Yes!" 5 minutes later his colleague walked by asking him why he didn't give me my order. "Sorry, he's new." Second time they simply forgot to put our phone order in, so I had to wait...and wait...and wait. It was hot. While the food was decent (hence the not 1-star rating), the service is nothing to write home about. Choose your own adventure. read more

My family came here quite often when they first opened, and the food quality just kept dropping after each visit, this store is owned by the same owner of Mimi's House in DB, I go to Mimi's House quite often so I'm very familiar with their foods..and I think they probably only have 1 real chef....so food is only good when the chef is at this location of if the owner is in the store.... apparently they weren't well prepared enough to handle business for more than 1 location. After a few visits and left with disappointments..we stopped coming by this restaurant...maybe the owner has fixed their food quality or not..I don't know..but I'm never coming back again! read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a restaurant to eat at. Located in a plaza near Pizza Hut, Big Lots, and J.J. Bakery on Nogales and Colima. FRIED PORK CHOP ($4.75) - very crispy - quite flavorful and tender - great appetizer; would recommend TAIWANESE SAUSAGE ($4.75) - a bit different from the store-bought Chinese sausage - this one had tendon or fat bits (big difference, I know) infused in the sausage - nothing too special but it keeps your hunger level down. BEEF STEW NOODLES ($6.99) - half beef and tendon - decent - nothing too memorable but it was filling - there was a good proportion of meat and tendon and noodles KUMQUAT MANGO GREEN TEA WITH ALOE ($5) - part of a promotional BOGOF deal with 2 other drinks - a bit on the sweet side but very refreshing - could actually taste the kumquat and mango - luckily it's part of the BOGO otherwise I probably wouldn't even order it for $5. SERVICE: surprisingly attentive. Our server came by and asked how we were doing and also cleared our plates accordingly. The place is also kept quite clean. ENVIRONMENT: The restaurant itself is pretty small. Has a big screen TV and has a homey yet food court feeling. Pretty much everyone speaks Chinese but I'm sure they know some English as well. Overall decent place to grab food. The food isn't the best but it'll have to suffice. The portions are filling, and the price is decent. We asked for 酸菜 (Taiwanese pickled sour mustard green relish) and they gave us plenty, so we felt right at home. This time around the beef noodle soup tasted average good but my main gripe is that they were super stingy with the Taiwanese sour pickled relish and we had to ask them about 6 times for more. Deep fried stinky tofu- the accompanying sauce is not so good but at least it was served with plenty of Taiwanese pickled cabbage. Upside- I love that they have 肉圓 (Taiwanese meatball-stuffed chewy dumpling) that reminds me of my hometown. read more

Came here on a Tuesday for Lunch. Food: We ordered the oil chicken leg rice and the bobee chicken. Both dishes were quite good but the bobee chicken was more tasteful. They came with side dishes of vegetables and a bowl mixed of peanuts, hot peppers, and bean curd. Most of the food seems as if they are testing out the food. We also ordered passion fruit smoothies. They had a special for buy one get one free. They smoothies were not bad and are comparable to smoothies at lollicup or quickly. Service: The service was quite good. They were really attentive and came by several times to ask if we needed anything. Price: The price is not bad for what you pay for. The total came out to be close to twenty dollars with tip and tax. Bobee 5 is the winner of a local contest in Taiwanese beef noodle category. I went there because of that. I ordered beef noodle (rolls eyes, of course), green onion oil infused dry noodles, boiled tofu and pork head cheese slices. I had some expectation of how good they should be but to be honest, although they do offer a wide variety of food, I'm a bit disappointed. None of the food tasted outstanding, even their award winning beef noodle which tasted a bit bland. For the beef noodle soup all I taste was the soy sauce, but none of the beefyness. Also the boiled oily tofu (first fried then simmered) and the pork head shavings that's supposed to be eaten with dipping sauce tasted.....well .....ancient....I could taste the previous frozen-ness out of the meat......as if it was frozen for more than a while, taken out at a whim, defrosted then served without verifying whether it was OK. I know small businesses like this keep inventory when business is not flowing as fast so food might not be as fresh, all my other friends also claim they do taste decent on the other times they went, so I'm giving a fair rating. As for the boba, it's pretty decent given that this isn't a place that specializes in drinks. The Jasmine Milk Tea is pretty tasty. Their boba is also pretty soft! Their service us also pretty good.
