We were in Las Vegas and came across this place on a Friday right before the lunch rush. It wasn't busy yet, so there was no wait. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and the customer service was friendly and welcoming from the start. The place itself is pretty simple when it comes to decor. Nothing fancy or over the top, just tables and chairs with TVs around the restaurant. They had music playing in the background at just the right volume. Loud enough that you could actually hear and enjoy it, but low enough that you could still sit across from someone and have a conversation without yelling at each other. I actually appreciated that. Now, let's get to the FOOD. We ordered the quarter chicken with rice and french fries and decided to try the papa rellena. LISTEN. That papa rellena changed things for me. I am NOT Peruvian, I do not know how to make Peruvian food, and I fully accept that somebody's Peruvian auntie may read this and tell me my description is completely wrong. That's okay! But the best way I can describe it is this delicious, crispy, deep-fried mashed potato stuffed with seasoned steak. WHY HAS NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BEFORE?! It was absolutely divine. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and I could have easily ordered another one. Honestly, I might come back just for that. And the rest of the food did not disappoint either. The chicken was tender and juicy, the fries were crispy and golden, and even the rice was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. So yes, I walked in as the person who "doesn't really do Peruvian food" and walked out wondering where my next papa rellena is coming from. Consider me converted. We will DEFINITELY be back the next time we're in Vegas!
