The place has a good vibe and during the week it's a good place to study or relax for a bit. On the weekend it's quite busy and thus a little noisy. Parking can be hard to find but they are worth it. My favorite cold drink is the Cold Brew with a bit of half and half. It's smooth and strong. There's something wonderful about an uncomplicated but great cup of coffee so for a go to hot the pour over is great. If you want something for your sweet tooth try the Caramel Twist. I like it with extra shots to balance out the sweet. This place also offers alternative milks for those who can't or don't want regular cows milk. I was so excited to find a place with good tea. I was digging the green jasmine tea. But just now today I had an experience that makes me not want to e eat go back. I got my 32 oz tea ($6.40 with the dollar tip) The tea tasted over steeped or old or something terrible. I asked for a new brew and she let me know they brew in big batches a week at a time. Gross. No wonder mine tastes terrible. She looked at me like she had no other suggestions. I Asked for a refund I'm which she fiddled with an IPad and then said it automatically went to my card. We will see. After this, I don't be going back. One - because their tea is old. No thanks. Two: poor customer service. Who can't brew tea on demand? And then can't kindly offer a solution? We come her at least twice a week for nitro cold brew but mostly to grab some beans! They grind the beans for us specifically for using it in a french press at home. We have tried a few of their different beans/roasts and they have all been delicious! The service is always friendly and fast. Since I have lived in this area, I believe Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders is the fifth coffee place to be located here at the corner of Rancho Parkway and Lake Forest Drive in the Home Depot shopping center. Hidden House was the last one to be here and just thought it was meh as far as coffee and service, and I believe I went there twice. Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders, from the moment I walked in, I knew was different. I was happily greeted as I started to look over the pretty extensive drink menu to include hot and cold coffee and tea drinks. I had asked about two of the lattes and decided on a Lavender Latte as that is a drink you cannot get just anywhere. I asked the friendly barista which dairy alternative would be best in my drink and she recommended almond milk. It was smooth and delicious. I got a vegan Sea Salt Chocolate Donut which was very good, also. On a subsequent visit I tried the special which was a Raspberry Mocha. The barista who helped me told me it was a very good choice and one of his favorites. It was absolutely delicious. Chocolately with a hint of berry sweetness, so good. The staff here is fantastic. Enthusiastic, friendly, and very helpful. The menu here has nice variety to it also. On a future visit, I definitely look forward to trying a Nitro cold brew. Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders is a refreshing and welcome change from the last coffeehouse that occupied this space. My new favorite place to get coffee. I've been dying to try Bodhi for a while and it did not disappoint. I got a hot cinnamon latte and my boyfriend got an iced almond milk latte. We also got a guava cheese danish. Everything was delicious. You can tell the coffee is great quality and they put extra care into making the drinks right. Went this morning and I'm already craving another cinnamon latte in the evening. I also liked that the staff asked how everything was, since I'm a new customer. It shows they care about the customers and care about the service they provide. Will definitely be making this my new weekend coffee stop! read more

Been a loyal customer for 3 years. Always Good coffee and friendly service. Walked in today to see all baristas were unmasked. I asked the manager about it and I was informed the mandate was not being enforced for the employees. I understand how difficult and awkward it can be to enforce the mandate on patrons. Most shops are not kicking out customers for non-compliance. However, this is the first eating/drinking establishment I have visited that is not having their employees do what is mandated by the state. Odd choice. read more

I have been going here for months now. This place has incredible coffee and is such a cozy place to sit with friends or do work. They have the best mocha I've ever drank, and I've been to a lot of coffee shops. The staff is so so kind and the drinks come out really quickly. It's definitely a neighborhood favorite for a reason. Bodhi Leaf is a great place to get a matcha latte or lavender latte; and offer a variety of alternatives to milk. The oat milk option is great for both flavors. The Grubhub app has been fairly easy to use, and makes ordering and pick up a smooth transaction. There are complimentary water cups with lids and and straws as well. The parking lot space is limited. The pastry menu on the grubhub/ yelp ordering app needs to be updated, because they no longer carry certain items (Found this out after ordering, paying, and getting refunded). read more

Saw this coffee shop on the way to an appointment and made sure to stop by afterwards. I saw the February flavor of the month (raspberry mocha latte) and was sold! I ordered it with almond milk so I think that upped the price ($5.50). For the smallest size, the price was high, but the quality and taste were excellent. There's some kind of cultural issue here either at Bodhi or at this particular location where they are fine with people coming into a place where food and drink are served, barefoot. I have never seen this anywhere else in my life besides at a beach bar, which is normal. This is in the middle of a strip mall and to be honest absolutely disgusting. 3rd person I've seen walk in here from the street barefoot in the past 2 months. First time I brought it up they said something to the customer. This time, they didn't even care. Complete apathy. I thought the first time was an anomaly but this is a trend and I can't get coffee and food from a place I'm completely disgusted by anymore. Zero hygiene. Sad because I really liked this place. Oh my gosh!! I used to live in Anaheim (literally 3 Bodhi Leaf locations within 5 miles of my old house - Anaheim Hills, Orange, and Placentia), and I was SO sad to be leaving this place behind. Now that it's in Lake Forest (and I'm in RSM) I can breathe a sigh of relief. I'm not enjoying the strong stuff just yet (on a coffee ban for 7 months), but my husband had the iced mocha and I had the hot chocolate. He said it's just like the original, and my hot chocolate was delicious on this rainy day! Some other faves of ours are the chai and the green tea latte. It seems like the lavendar latte is popular so I'll have to give that a try. The only concern I have is the speed of the cashiers (we had a slow one today), but that will get better with more training and experience using the register. The staff definitely didn't seem like the usual young hipsters I saw in North County, but that's totally okay! Our barista and the cashier were super sweet ladies. read more

I went here twice in one week and I don't even live in OC, I actually love about 30 miles away. Thanks to Yelp for helping me find this place. The first time I went I tried the Rose White Latte with half the amount of white chocolate since the baristas said it was too sweet. It was delicious with that light floral taste of the rose. The second time I got the hazelnut latte, which is my favorite. Paired with almond milk it was perfect temp, slightly sweet with nutty notes. The inside is so foreground and perfect place to study and camp out for awhile or to go on a coffee date. For your GPS that might steer you wrong it's on the end of Home Depot and facing the Jack in the Box and next to a sandwich shop. read more

The first time i came here was with a friend and the service was incredible. I ordered an iced chai latte with vanilla and I don't think i have ever had an iced chai that was that good! This is my second time here, but this time alone. I ordered an iced chai with vanilla and oat milk and the cashier was confused. She asked "so you want a vanilla latte with chai?" i said "sure" since i had a bad day and i just wanted my vanilla iced chai. She then continues to ask how many pumps of vanilla and chai i wanted and then tells me that the chai is already sweet so i could order a regular chai latte and if i want they can add vanilla after if i want it sweeter. I'm sorry but I wasn't asking for suggestions. I got so fed up so i jusy took the regular iced chai with espresso and no vanilla. I didn't even want espresso in it. All I wanted was an iced chai latte with vanilla and oat milk but i guess that was too confusing to make????? I really like this place. They have very friendly staff who actually remember your name (!) and great outdoor seating, as well as free wifi. The coffee is very good, both the drinks there and the beans they roast. My only suggestion would be to up their pastry game. In between 2nd and 3rd wave coffee. Great environment to study or do some work. However, the cortado I received was a bit average. The milk used was on the colder side. For these types of coffee drinks the temperature of the milk in my opinion is one of the most important things. It can make or break the experience. I was in the Orange area so i decided to try Bodhi again as a importer and roaster they should know their coffee. I stopped for a simple latte and as I tasted it the milk burned my tongue. Burnt milk at a specialty coffee place, basic Barista training on milk prep for a latte, I expected far better than the Starbucks burnt milk standard. Common guys you have potential, training and quality control. They loss a star on this visit. read more
