We tried Boil Daddy on a weekday for dinner. We tried the Loaded Bayou Fries, the fish basket, and the 1/2 lb head of shrimp with a medium boil daddy sauce on the side. The customer service was okay, maybe since it was a weekday, everything moved a bit slower, it took some time for us to get our water, and we were told to pick up our own menu on our way to the table. The loaded Bayou Fries were the best dish we had, the portion was huge, and it tasted really great! It was definitely loaded with flavors. The fish basket was okay, the fries of course were in no comparison to the loaded one, and the fish pieces were dry and rubbery, wasn't really a fan of it. The shrimp was cooked well and it was very meat-y. I was also not a fan on the sauce, it lacked garlic and heat. I was hoping that a medium would be enough spice but maybe next time I'll get the max spice level. WAY BETTER than Boiling Crab! This was our first time here and we get why the reviews are so great. The quality of the seafood is really good, and cooked perfectly. (At Boiling Crab recently we noticed the shrimp has been more soggy and hard to peel, perhaps over-cooked. At Boil Daddy everything peeled very easily!) Most notably the service was amazing. Lily took such good care of us, was extremely attentive, and helped us make the right menu selections. We got a portion of the medium spicy & a smaller portion of the OMG spicy to try which was perfect. (My husband and I both have pretty high spicy tolerance but the OMG really kicks after awhile, so it was perfect to start with that then finish with medium.) They need to improve on how to assist customers with time management. It wasn't that busy, but the biggest issue was that it was only 1 CASHIER HANDLING THE CASH REGISTER, TAKING PEOPLE ORDERS, AND SERVING....We waited almost 2 hours to do an order! Came because it was 4.5 stars. They were severely understaffed (one poor waitress by herself on her 4th day working there - she was very kind though) and one chef in the kitchen.. The appetizers were good (we got the krabby patties and calamari) but an hour later we still haven't received our seafood boil. I was starting to see the exasperation on the other customers' faces too and we decided to cancel our order. They ended up finishing our order around the hour 20 mark just as we were leaving so we were given the bag free of charge to take home as the restaurant was closing in another hour anyways. I courageously decided to try some when I got home and well... the pictures say enough. Never had this issue with other seafood boil places like Kickin Krab. My first sip of the lemonade was grainy from the unmixed sugar but once I was able to drink about half and shake it around it had good flavor.
