Wow, I must come here alot.. according to checkins, I've been to THIS location at least 21 times!! What can I say, I am definitely a fan. If you want to go to BP, the best time to go is at 11am.. correction, show up at about 10:45am and pull a number, otherwise the wait could.. take awhile. Our last trip was on a Saturday at around 230pm--we figured it wouldn't be busy--we waited about 45 minutes to finally get a table (yikes!). Next time we go to BP per our usual schedule, right when they open! We go to at BP at LEAST once a month, if we're not here we are doing a mid week lunch run to the one in Monterey Park. Over the years the only thing that has been inconsistent is the amount of "heat" in a mild. Sometimes it is perfect, sometimes it burns my mouth.. I am a spice wuss. The BF has finally decided to just go with "no spice" and the same for me.. he controls his heat by adding chili oil with the tableside provided sauces. He said it tastes the same and he can be sure it isn't "too hot." The only thing I am sad about is.. they do not have the pomelo year round. It made a brief appearance this last fall and it is gone again :( Hopefully they at least bring it back again this fall.. read more

COVID edition: Got my usual beef Togo and was hesitating because how can I have hot pot at home? Boy do I take that back! BP packs everything so well.. and I have a personal heating pot, so I literally had hot pot at home.. boiling and everything. This is now my go-to take out spot. I highly encourage you to try it out! The ingredients used were old and rotten and tasted horrible. The clam tasted off. The beef was very fatty. The lettuce was rotten and spoiled and black. The list goes on from there. Won't be returning. read more

For the hot pot, small portion of lamb meat and plenty of veggie, I ordered medium spicy for the soup and I think it was good. Seating was quick, no waiting, food came out quick. Good place to have hot pot when it is cold outside. read more

I've been a really big fan of BP for a couple of years now and finally returned after a whole year without it! This location is finally open for lunch dine-in, however it now starts at 1PM even though it opens at 12PM (call in to double check). I always get the Lamb Pot (no spicy, without pickled mustard greens) with vermicelli and green tea. This is my favorite pot out of the whole selection because their lamb is not too gamey and it comes with an egg! If you're new to this place, I'd go with the beef because it's the safest and most popular item. They now include basil seeds in your complimentary green/black tea (with purchase of a pot) which I think is quite good at no extra cost! However, they stopped giving out the mini cups of lemonade and basil seeds with your check at the end of your meal. Service here is always very meh, and sometimes you have to ask multiple times to get your request fulfilled. Their COVID-19 policies are very safe, even after the mask mandate was lifted, all employees remain wearing their mask and there is plexiglass dividing up the tables. Additionally, sauces are now given to order in plastic cups and when asked for extra soup, they are brought in bowls instead of being poured directly in your pot by a server. When taking home your leftovers, you are required to pack up yourself. TIP: make sure to download the Boiling Point app in order to receive points towards rewards! read more

The food is always on point and very delicious but I can't say any good things about the service here. I've eaten more than 5 times here and one thing that doesn't change is how neglectful the staff can be. No water refills, no rice refills, no one checks in and it takes them almost 15 minutes just to charge your card or even give you the tab at all. No one wants to feel like they have to track your server down consistently. Hopefully they can improve in this area. read more

Boiling Point was my go to place for hot pot but since covid happened it's not the same since we can't eat it hot which taste so much better. I tried to recreate it at home but didn't feel the same as dining at the restaurant. They are very generous with the amount of soup to go and sauces but once they are open for dining I'll be sure to try it again. I like most of their soups but my favorite would be the beef. Everything else has one of two items I don't like in it. Enjoy! read more

My friends and I love stopping by here! The food is always delicious and I love getting the curry pot here. I definitely think the lunch deal is the best because it's cheaper and it comes with a free tea. I also like that you can upgrade any pot to a large, which I think would be a good portion for two people who weren't too hungry! I always love this place and I came on a Friday night around 6 pm and didn't even have to wait. read more

Above average to great Taiwanese style hot pot place, but with a couple limitations. I got the lamb hot pot at the flaming spicy level. Flavors were good overall, spice was there, and I enjoyed it all. Pro-tip: when they ask you for rice or for noodles as your free add on, get the rice and add gravy and fried scallions for 1.00$ more. Super good. I think the entire thing was 15$ or so? Pretty great value. But the reason why I'm giving four stars instead of five is because they give you your hotpot in one of those bowl setups that has the pink flaming gel beneath it. This is cute and cool to look at, but you can't control the temps in any way. Also, if you're a bigger guy, the seating is a bit cramped. Seating and flaming proprietary bowl stands aside, this place is worth your money. Service was mediocre, but that's not uncommon with hotpot places. read more

The Food is great, there's a good selection of soup base and the good thing is the food is precooked so you don't have to do much work, haha I just wanna eat and relax. If I wanted to work I'd cook at home. Anyhoo, the place is a bit loud so I always bring ear plugs. The chairs are hard so I bring a cushion. The AC is on full blast so I wear a fishing hat. And if you see a guy do all of the above, well then that's me, only me. Other than that the price, the food, and the servers are super! Street parking is conveniently out front. Be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes on busy nights. I give this 4.5/5 stars which rounds up to 5. Ha! read more

Boiling point is ways a staple for me and the Arcadia location used to be my go to spot before I moved further away. Literally my number one is always beef hot soup because I'm a basic bitch but the Korean bean paste is also good! Go during lunch because you get a free tea included with your pot! read more

This is definitely my comfort restaurant miso is so good and the black tea is my favorite (free during lunch yay!). The service was great and the servers were attentive, but they forgot my modifications rip. It can get pretty crowded so I like to come when it opens. read more

DO NOT BRING BABY! Terrible customer service! This place is more of a 1.5 star location. Boiling Point is what you'd expect from the rest of the chains. Nothing quite special, nothing quite terrible. 3 Star - Food: Food is normal. Taste is average, nothing special. You get what you see in the pictures. Each pot comes with your choice of rice or rice noodle. The waitress did forget the rice noodle for one our sets but we reminded them and they brought it right away. We got several beef pots, one seafood pot, and one lamb set of varying spicy levels. Spice Level: It's spicier than we thought! Mild is more medium, medium is more hot, but if you're good with spicy then go at it! 1 Star - Service: This is the primary reason this place isn't a 3. We had 6 adults and 1 baby. They gave us seats for 6, a 4-seat table and a 2-seat table attached at the end. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if 6 adults order 6 meals, where is the baby going to go? Not Baby Friendly! I had to ask 3 different waitresses, a total of 4 times in order to get an extra table for the baby. At first, they advised me not to put the baby at the end of the table. So I say 'Ok, can I get an extra table?' And they tell me that 'no, you only have 6 people, so you get 6 seats.' At this point I'm like, hey, what? Where is my baby going then? If my baby occupies a seat, where is the extra adult going? Trust me, you cannot fit 3 meals onto a table for 2. With this logic, I ask a few more times. Finally after the fourth time, when orders are coming in, I ask again and the waitresses FINALLY realize that you cannot fit 6 adults, their meals, and a baby in seating for 6. The Kicker: We got there around 5:30 PM, and I suspected that the restaurant would not get busy until we left. And I was right, as we were finishing and paying, it started to actually got busy. So, not giving me that extra table just makes absolutely no sense from a business or any standpoint. Summary: Needless to say, I was upset at the lack of awareness and customer service entirely. Food is standard, it's what you'd expect from a BP joint. Service was just plain terrible. Am I bias? Somewhat, but take my review with a grain of salt, this is the service you can expect. It's not baby friendly. read more

I'm a sucker for lunch specials especially with a good free drink and boiling point has a great free tea with lunch. Boiling point is a nice hotpot concept to me with the soup coming to me in a boiling cauldron. With the cold weather upon us, you might find this note because you're looking for soup. If you like asian flavors and soup, this is a great option for your too try. I always enjoy my visits to boiling point and especially love the sauces on the table that can help you customize your big pot of boiling soup. Be wary, it's obviously hot (temperature) so take your time and let your food cool down. read more

I was told this place was constantly packed so I went a bit early for dinner at 5:00pm. There were many empty tables and I was quickly seated. One thing to note is that the air conditioning is blasting inside, and even with 80 degree weather outside, you can feel chilly inside. I ordered a beef hotpot with rice, which took less than 5 minutes to arrive. The beef hotpot was delicious and had a lot of beef, veggies, a slice of tomato, corn, mushrooms, fishball shaped in a square and a tofu. The beef wasn't overly cooked in the soup and the soup kept the food hot during the meal. The mushroom and veggies tasted fresh and the soup gave it a small umami flavoring. When the check was delivered, I was also given a drink with chia seeds(?) which was a nice addition to the meal. Overall, it was better than what I had expected based on the comments my friends had told me previously. read more

Preface: our servers were all trainees. Scan the QR code for the menu. I ordered the beef, medium spicy. I'm not sure if numbing spice is in the beef soup originally or due to medium spice level. It was a good surprise. I really enjoyed the sauces they had on the table. One star removed because they forgot our orders. two out of 3 orders came to the table. I don't want to dock too many stars because the food itself was good. The servers were maybe just in training still. Street parking is available. I've only been late night, so I was able to find parking very easily. read more

I do not like the quality of the items at this specific boiling point. I have been to many more locations such as Irvine, Pasadena, San Gabriel, Monterey Park, San Jose, Seattle. San Jose and San Gabriel seem to do a much better job with keeping consistency to the high standard that customers really want and deserve. Food: The menu for boiling is standard broth soup with different assortments of vegetables and some meat. The presentation of this particular location is horrible. Meat is just tossed in, sometimes over or under cooked, and orders are not made in a careful enough manner that people want to pay the extra upcharge of over $20 for literally one bowl of soup wherein $20 at a grocery store and an hour at home can make some 10 Quarts. Service: I guess it really depends on the managers in charge, the quality of the hires, and their ability to serve consistent regularly awesome soups and be nice. It may also be rush of new hires and layoffs since many employees across the entire food industry is realizing that there are so many opportunities and sometimes the lower pay at each job isn't going to cut it anymore since the economy has really changed and the consistency really depends on the well done training to each employee. The additional need to provide for online, pickup, and delivery orders, people are losing quality in order to fulfill orders, when employees leave, get harassed out, or managers fail to retain them. People can earn $25+ with no experience or minimal entry level now. As a mid-level with a few years in most roles, people can achieve $50+ per hour. Without the larger tips that restaurants usually receive, employees no longer come even close to $30/hr. read more

This place is also so satisfying on a cold windy day. Or even if it's not cold weather outside and you're feeling like something flavorful and soupy. I always get the number 1, non spicy, 'cause I'm simple like that. Make sure to get the noodles instead of the rice!! (The rice is not very good there and more often than not, it is too hard). Their drinks are also quite good - the old time milk tea is my go to. It's a little on the sweeter side, but still good to me. Also love that the have a small cup of dessert, although a little slimy, is refreshing due to the tanginess of it. You'll find that there's almost always a long line waiting outside during the dinner rush, no matter what day. So it's best to send someone over and put down your name!! They have the text messaging system where they'll text you when your number is called. BUT make sure to have the entire party there. read more

Due to COVID restrictions ordered hotpot for takeout. Now when I heard this I thought how do you do that? You usually eat it as it's cooking in a pot. Well turns out they cook the soup and vegetables for you and package that. Then they package the noodles on the side for you to add once you get home. I got some glass noodles and they had pre-soaked in water to soften it up. I didn't think it was possible but when I got home the soup was still hot, and overall it was good. It's wintertime and temperatures are cold so this hit the spot. read more

First time here it down the street from my work. I always see big lines and a wait to get in. I finally came to check it out for myself. At first I was unsure how to eat the soup the way they serve it but once it in front of you and watching your neighbors eating it all makes sense. I order the #9 Japanese Miso Soup WOW !!!! Incredible tops one of my favorite soups ever so much flavor,it had tofu,undo noddles,eggs,seafood pork lots of cabbage the broth is amazing Your meal comes with a cold Tea ,you'll need it when your boiling hot soup comes in front of you. The service not so great :( our waitress was not friendly and didn't care it was my first time here . Hopefully next time I come I'll get someone different to enjoy the delicious soup read more

I like the concept of your own hot pot. Their mild is on the spicy side. And the flame boiling made it feel even hotter. I can probably just go with no spice in the future. I got the beef hot pot and it was good and satisfying. I like that an iced tea drink came with the meal at lunchtime. Both black tea and green tea were sweet and good, but I liked the first a little more. They give a free jelly at the the end of your meal. They also sell the jellies in a pack for about $5. read more

Service was horrible - they told me to wait outside in the rain after I had pointed out that there was an empty table that they did not yet fill nor start calling other numbers. They let me stay in corner area for a good while and they asked me to wait outside after I had pointed out the problem. The amount of workers looks ample(4-5 waiters) but they are not trained well it seems. Utensils and table were still wet when I finally got around to being seated. Was not very appetizing for me. read more

My wife was in the middle of her meal and found a Latex Glove in the house special. Gross! The food is really good but But their hygiene and preparation are not at par with the taste. They told us that all thier meals are prepacked from the central store! Not even prepared in store. The worst is they even charged us for one order. We came here regularly. We used to order the lamb hot pot. Unfortunately, they changed their recipes or something. It's not as good as it was before. Thankfully their new seasonal three cup chicken is a pleasant surprise. Not salty, not heavy, not too spicy. Will order this one from now on. Hopefully, they don't discontinue it like all the other seasonal hot pots they sold in the past. read more

Came here to have dinner , ordered #1 special , after finished the dinner I started have stomach and had to use their bathroom as I had diarrhea, while I walking to the restroom a girl from another table is going the bathroom and was in front of me , I have to wait five minutes for her as they only have one restroom , the girl is having bad stomach after ate the food here , when I finished using the restroom came back to my table , the gentlemen with the girl also went to the restroom, the food here is not clean and saw their back of kitchen is not clean as I expected, after I came home I have to use another bathroom, this place isn't clean for sure. read more

One of the smaller locations. We came during dinner time. Not much to say as we have always liked Boiling point. Simple but good menu with different choices for drinks. The staff didn't look so happy at this location, but the food came out in a timely matter. Will always come back because it's our closest location. read more

Luckily I was busy picking things out that I didn't really eat that nasty one. Thank you for satisfying my hotpot cravings! It's a bit difficult gathering all the ingredients for hotpot these days as we can't have get-togethers and due to limited grocery delivery items. Best way is to order from Boiling Point! Used to frequent this Arcadia location very often during the chillier months. It rained for half a day last week making it a great opportunity to enjoy hotpot before the temps warmed up again. Definitely recommend the Lamb Hotpot. I've tried the original, the veggie, and Korean one. Lamb is the way to go to warm up quickly! The Jasmine tea is also bomb. My friend would want to go there just to get that free Jasmine tea. She says its quality is much better than places in Taiwan that offer free tea. It's no wonder we had seen people just ordering the drinks from this place even without the hotpot. read more

We were waiting 15+ minutes for the items only to go up to the counter and realize that we were supposed to get it ourselves but we're never told to do so. It's quite small inside but there is a decent amount of seating Pricing is resonable and nearly everything is under $15! The Curry Pastry ($2.60) was pretty good. It would've been better if it was more crispy but the filling was very delicious and had plenty of curry and beef! The Sweet Soybean Pudding ($4.50 - large) was delicious! Be sure to let them know to put the syrup on the side otherwise they combine it for you! The tofu was very soft, silky, and fresh. I was very relieved that the syrup wasn't too sweet since they combined it inside. The Soymilk ($4.25 - large) was very sweet and didn't have much of a soybean taste. It would have been better if it wasn't so sweet so I could taste more of the soybean. NOTE: they offer salty soymilk and soybean pudding but it's +$0.25 more than the sweet Soymilk and soybean pudding! The Peanut Milk ($4.25) was pretty good. It was very creamy and nutty! If you like peanut butter, then this is a must! It wasn't too sweet and it was very refreshing. Overall, I liked the soybean pudding more than the Soymilk and the prices were reasonable so I most likely will recommend and return!

The Taiwanese meatball soup is comforting, and the Taiwanese sausage always reminds me of night markets back home. What I appreciate most is that SinBala doesn't just serve street food. It brings those familiar flavors into a warm, home-style setting. It's nostalgic without trying too hard. Before you leave, save room for dessert. Their shaved ice is a must. I always recommend the brown sugar shaved ice topped with five mochi or boba. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to a meal. Taiwanese food is often overshadowed by other regional Chinese cuisines, but places like SinBala remind me how unique it really is. Simple, comforting, and full of character. Everything was good but still not a fan of soft peanuts! A lot of people had a bowl of beef noodle along with dumplings, but we were too full to try the dumplings. Definitely want to try next time!

I'm never going back to this piece of shit restaurant ever again. Not only are they super slow, but now they recently changed their waiting list to a system where you draw a number out of a small bottle next to the wait list and write your name and the number you got on the list. What an ass backwards way of doing things. We recently went there and wrote our name down along with the pre-assigned number. 10 minutes in, I noticed a party in front of us left because the wait was too long. Then another couple showed up 10 minutes later and noticed the earlier party had put their number back on the table. So this dickhead boyfriend just proceeded to take that number and wrote it next to their names. When it was time for the clueless waitress to call the next table, she just called the number from the party that left previously. The same dickhead just gave her the number they took and she just sat them down. I went up to the waitress and told her this couple just cut in front of about 4 other tables and she just told me he had a number. What the fuck??? At this point, we just got so pissed and left. What a waste of time at this place. The food is not even that good to justify the wait. There are many other hot pot places around the San Gabriel valley to choose from. Stay away from this place!!! I always go for mild because you can add more spice afterward if needed. I usually get the Japanese miso, which comes in a huge portion with lots of pork and seafood. The broth is delicious, and I always end up taking home leftovers! If you run out of broth, they'll refill it for you, which is a nice touch. The service is very quick and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need throughout your meal. One of the worst waiter I've ever met!! I went there on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend. It was pretty empty in the restaurant..only a few tables were occupied. When we walked in, no one greeted us so we sat ourselves down at a table. It took them at least 5 minutes to notice us and brought us the menu. After the waiter put the menus down on our table, he walked away immediately!! It was super empty in the room which made me a little pissed off. Only a minute or two after we got our menu, three young ladies walked into the restaurant. It only took like 10seconds for those three young ladies to receive greetings and their menu. Then he stayed at there table waiting for the girls to order. It's like he is the servant of those girls!! I was like what the hell!? Is he like a pervert or something?? Then I waved at him to order but he did not even notice our existence. Then another waitress came over to order our food and drinks. Somehow she never smiled and looks unhappy... Boiling point also made some small changes to their hot pots which I did not like at all. My first time and I gotta give this place a thumbs down. Looks great in photos, but the reality is flavor is lacking, not as much meat as you think, and simply not a mind blowing meal. I had the Taiwanese Spicy and it was not very spicy. I can handle some serious spicy, but this was just chili oil spicy. Not much flavor. Clams were tiny and after going through most of it, it was mainly full of cabbage and tofu. My nieces had the lamb and beef ones and they weren't all that great tasting either. Everything looked great, but without that yumminess factor, no need to return. Service was solid and fast and I give them 2 stars for that. And I love Taiwanese food (used to have a Taiwanese GF that took me to the best places), but this trendy chain restaurant just didn't do it for me. read more

I am a fan of Boiling point. Affordable rate with tasty food. I am a huge fan of Taiwanese Hot pot. I can't stop myself keep coming back for their hot pot. Service is good with the price they are charging. Food serve fast that I like. I especially love their signature bean paste sauce. Very very unique and delicious. With the way they made their be a paste sauce, I can not stop yourself from keep coming back to this place. I like how they serve hot pot with a complimentary green tea or black tea.
