First time having boiling point and after this experience I'd come back. We came in right at opening on Sunday and while we didn't have to wait, the place filled up very quickly. I ordered the beef version in mild and sadly the mild was too spicy for me (I'm weaksauce when it comes to spicy food). I mixed some of the dipping sauces into the broth and had more plain chicken broth added to try and dilute the soup. Despite that, everything was tasty. I like that you get to mix your own sauce and that there's a little bit of everything in your pot. This restaurant was a chance find in the Edmonds/Mountlake Terrace area. The serving portions are generous and the selections ranges from meat, seafood, and vegetarian. My two visits allowed me to sample a good variety of items. We tried the curry fishball hot soup, beef hot soup, and Japanese miso soup. The soup presentation was definitely something to see. Each pot came on a burner stand with a gel container as the heat source. This made transportation and enjoying your meal a hassle free experience. The gel packs lasted for about 30 minutes and the pots were still hot even after an hour later. The soups were simply delicious. Each pot came already assembled, preheated, and ready to eat. Curry fishball Hot Soup: Curry flavored stock with napa cabbage, vermicelli noodles, sliced pork, enoki mushroom, imitation crab, stick, fish ball, fried tofu skin, corn, tempura mountain yam, chinese string bean, egg, and green onion. Excellent soup and served with a side of white rice. The thin slices of pork was tender and seasoned with curry. The flavor combination was a perfect balance of heat, meat and vegetables. The variety of items in the soup definitely created a unique and savory broth. Beef Hot Soup: Tender slices of beef, napa cabbage, vermicelli noodles, enoki mushroom, tomato, firm tofu, tempura, corn, meat ball (pork), kamaboko, fried tofu skin, imitation crab stick, green onion, cilantro. The broth had a rich and meaty flavor and the noodles perfectly absorbed the flavors. Japanese Miso Soup: Miso broth, napa cabbage, udon, sliced pork, enoki mushrooms, clam, fuzhou fish ball, fish fillet, king oyster mushroom, crab, fried tofu skin, soft tofu, egg, green onion. Hands down my favorite restaurant. If I can have this everyday, I probably would. I'm just so sad they don't have a boiling point in Las Vegas! When I lived in Washington, I would go almost about every week to the Seattle location since it was closer to where I lived. I've been to the Bellevue and Chinatown location a few times but I'm happy they've finally opened up one up north! I usually get the beef hotpot and usually can't finish everything especially with the bowl of rice they give you. I really like how everyone gets their own individual hotpot so you can customize how spicy you want your broth to be and you don't have to worry about sharing! They have a large menu to choose from and you can also add additional items to your hotpot or on the side (i.e extra meat, mushroom, corn, etc). They also have milk tea/bubble tea as well! I don't know why I just saw bad reviews for this BP location but this was hands down the best BP I have ever been to. I've been to the Bellevue and International District locations, although both locations are nice, the customer service here was AMAZING. This BP even beats a few locations I went to in California. Wait for our party of 5 was 5-10 minutes at first and then a table cleared up immediately for us! The lovely hostess, Lilianne (spelling?!), was so so so extremely kind to us and everyone that I saw. She was always smiling and have amazing customer service. I didn't catch the name of our actual server, but he was kind too. No other workers really acknowledged us. Even though Lilianne was just a hostess, I saw her bussing tables.. what more can you ask for?! Whoever management is, she deserves some recognition for being extraordinary. Food was just as good as any other BP location but the customer service was what put it over the top. The atmosphere is very modern and clean. The interior is also better renovated; it is more spacious and the seats are comfier. The menu is the same as the other locations. I've tried most of the pot combos and liked them all! The choice is difficult every time because all the ingredients are pre-determined and there will be things that you want and things you don't like in every pot. I wish the add-ons weren't so expensive (about 5$ for each protein). The soup and especially the sauces are super tasty. The small pot is usually enough for me, however I have finished a large pot by myself once when I haven't eaten for 24h... Also, when I have the Taiwanese spicy at ID, my stomach is not very happy, but it didn't happen at this location. Lunch is a better time to go because of the free drink that comes with a pot! I'd say the House special spiciness is like a 5, and the taiwanese flaming is like a 9. I feel like I got duped by the house special being so mild. I love the milk and cream flavor, its quite flavorful. The korean bean doesnt taste like a kimchee stew for me, it actually taste closer to what I thought spicy miso should taste like. They were pretty on par with the other boiling point locations - meaning the soup was filled with lots of yummy meat and fish cake. The orders are pretty big as well, so you can share or eat lots by yourself. Overall, the hot pot was fresh and delicious. However, we were a bit disappointed with the service. I am used to poor service, but the only time that a worker came to our table was to take our order or to give us our food. Our food came out at different times and the rice came out much later. At the end, the server gave us a sample of their lemonade with basil seeds. I liked it, but my aunt was not in a fan. The basil seeds reminded me of chia seeds but a little bit more chewy. This is my favorite Boiling Point location, because the larger size of the restaurant feels so much less claustrophobic than the smaller locations. Having said that, is there still a ridiculously long wait for a table? YES, it does take a while for people to enjoy the bubbling hot pots, after all. Boiling Point USA should really consider bigger waiting areas in their entry ways, because in cold, rainy Seattle (especially the season when you crave hot pot), there are always heaps of people looming over patrons as they try to enjoy their food. The hot pot options vary enough to offer a pretty good selection. My husband has tried almost every flavor, while I pretty much stick to Beef, spice level 2, every time. I think his favorite is the Korean version. There is a ton of veggies, seafood cakes/balls, meat and tofu that come out in your personal hot pot. I have seen other tables order it non-spicy, and the staff seems to accommodate special orders (like omitting an ingredient). Everyone gets a complimentary cold black tea or green tea. I try to avoid sugar, so I always give my tea to my husband. I would LOVE if they offered an unsweetened version. They also have a variety of different sauces on each table that allows you to mix and match into your own customized sauce for dipping your meat and seafood (I personally like the garlic soy sauce + chili oil). Finally, you get clear vermicelli or a bowl of rice on the side. Just be aware that a lot of the hot pots already come with vermicelli in them. Pro tips: When you feel your soup has cooked down the ingredients well enough, you can ask the wait staff to put out the fire to keep the broth from reducing down. Alternately, you can also ask staff for more broth, if you want to keep the party going! Also, make sure to get none or mild spicy if it ain't your thing. My friend and I like to consider ourselves pretty tolerant of spicy foods but man, this was just on another dimension of hot. This is the BP I come to if we have a large party since they can handle it. Most of the other Boiling Point restaurants in the area can't handle more than 4 people siting together. I've rolled in 8 deep and they seat us without batting an eyelash. It is a bit of hike but the convenience factor makes it worthwhile to eat here instead of at closer ones. The food is made in the kitchen and you have your own personal flame for the hot pot. You can add soup to the hot pot or you can ask them to put out the flame if it gets too hot. However, once the flame is out, I'm not sure it can be turned back on without some hassle. One order is a pretty good amount of food. I am usually full without going overboard on ordering additional meat/seafood/tofu/vegetables. You can also get rice or noodles with the hot pot. Service is good. Should I do a review for Boiling Point?! I mean nearly every Asian knows this place! Excuse the stereotype but it's somewhat true. Over the years Boiling Point has changed a lot. From their menu, to service to the cleanliness of it's newer restaurants. Edmond's Boiling Point is close to Ranch 99 Market, Arashi Ramen, Bambu and the whole complex of Asian desserts and cuisines a couple of blocks down from Pacific Highway. The only tricky part about this location is its at a very busy intersection. The parking spaces are ample but during night time, there's low visibility due to the lack of street lamps. The restaurant is fairly clean inside and doesn't have the tainted stinky tofu smell like the one in Bellevue. Their HVAC system definitely improved at this location. The menu over time has changed.. The pots have rotated with some new like the seafood & tofu pot and some remaining the same like the classic Taiwanese, Thai, etc. My favorite is the Taiwanese if I'm up for the hot and spicy challenge. Or I resort to a less exciting dinner with a moderately spicy Thai pot (bigger size) or the Seafood & Tofu (smaller pot). It's accompanied with your choice of rice or noodles (vermicelli or instant, whichever comes with the pot). You can also order extras of other vegetables, meat, etc. for an upcharge. I highly recommend adding fish balls if you like seafood, crown daisy which is similar to a slightly bitter spinach and some quail eggs. Dinner will definitely make you a very full patron at Boiling Point. Upon clearing your hotpot at the end, a server will kindly pass out a very sugar-y but tasty shot of lemonade-chia seed infused beverage. First time here, and ordered the Taiwan hot pot. It's different than other hot pot restaurants that serve the ingredients on the side, self serve style. Dining is usually also more family style. At Boiling Point you get generous individual servings with precooked ingredients in the broth that are then heated on a sterno. Pretty neat, and you can choose to share if you want. Beware of the spice level if your tolerance is low, the Taiwan hot pot bowl gets spicier the more you heat the broth and as you continue to eat. Had to eat with Hokkaido milk tea, which was delicious. The dessert options were ice cream in macaron or cube form. I opted for the matcha macaron, which was amazing. I would go just for those. My only complaint was the service. It felt rushed and we had to speak up to get the server's attention. Presentation wasn't amazing either, which is a minor point. sadly to write the bad review of this place.. We went there last night and it was almost full. I understand it Friday night. The music was soooo loud.. seriously loud. I couldn't hear and anything the person next to me talking. The server was nice... but seriously brand new I could tell. He forgot to put in our appetizer order. I was like fine.. our soup arrived already anyway. But when I got my soup, I noticed the bugs in my soup.. Serious;y I don't know what it is... it could be the roach but I don't know. I told the server and pointed to that bug in my soup and told her politely that there was bug in my soup. The server looked at me and said "I don't know what it is" I was pissed even more. She ended up brought it back to the kitchen. and She brought one back with no bug in it. I was so disappointed ..
