Bolay has REALLY gone downhill... I used to LOVE this place, and I've probably been here about 2 dozen times since they opened. Unfortunately, it's really gone downhill over the course of the last couple of months. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner on Sunday, August 19th. As I often do, I ordered a large bowl which comes with two of everything. I ordered steak as one of my toppings, which is a $2 upcharge. I'm aware of this, and it's no problem. However, when the young man put the streak in my bowl, it was a measly, stingy serving of 8 small pieces (yes, I counted later) that would have made Ebenezer Scrooge proud. I politely asked him for a bit more, and he rudely said no - that was all they were allowed to give. So I paid for our food, and we sat down to eat. Overall, the food was "ok," but as I got toward the bottom of the bowl, I found that the kale was bad - it was dry, brittle, yellow and BROWN on the edges. Not that it was cooked this way, it was simply old, and past it's date. This combined with the measly serving of meat I was served was enough, so I went up and asked to speak to a manager. The young girl at the counter told me there wasn't one available, so I would have to come back later or just call them. Bad food happens from time to time, I get that. But bad customer services just tops it off, and for me it's a deal breaker. I'm beyond disappointed, and unfortunately I won't be back. read more

Wonderfully tasty bowl meals with not only gluten free but vegan options. It's exactly what I needed to support my active life while on vacation. The veggies only had a few offerings but their preparation was terrific. I had roasted Brussels sprouts and potatoes on shiritaki noodles. The GF cookies very good too. The only criticism I have is that I can't eat cheese, offered free as a topping, and asked if I could substitute some of the premium toppings. Great Food! Great Service! What else could you ask for. My go to is the large bowl, where you get to select 2 Bases, 2 veggies & 2 meats. I typically pick the Cilantro noodles with Cilantro Pesto and then mix up the other selections. I haven't tried anything negative so far and I don't anticipate that happening. This place gets super busy on weekdays at lunch time but that's because the food is so good! You can place your order online and go in to pick up so you don't have to wait. I love it! There are so many competitors out there but I fell in love with Bolay. The toppings are very high quality and the staff is incredibly friendly. When you first walk in, there's a sink to watch your hands with luscious soap and colors. Then you have all of the options for bases, toppings, and so many sauces! One of my favorite spots to grab take out from. The line goes fast, lots of turnover in the food, so it's hot when it's supposed to be and cold when it's supposed to be. Similar concept to chipotle but healthy options from quinoa and kale to broccoli and grilled chicken. The food is fresh and tasty and the large is enough for two meals. I love the ahi here it's a $2 up charge but so worth it. They did just raise the prices of both size bowls however it's still worth it when you consider the large is two meals worth of food. I'm a huge fan and when you check in on Yelp you get a free cookie! The whole place is gluten free and just yummy! read more

By now I've eaten here a few dozen times. I decided to wait until the sheer excited of having Fast Food I could eat to finally be over. I wanted the chance to figure out if I really liked the food or if I was just elated that it existed. I don't have any dietary issues i.e. Gluten, allergies, carbs, fat, white food, round shaped food, food with lines etc... Just after an illness I needed to eat unprocessed. So, with the excitement finally behind me, the verdict officially is that I really, really like it. A lot. I think Bolay by far offers the best tasting options of all the "Fresh food fast" concept restaurants. When Bolay first opened the concept was new and unique but now there are literally dozens of places with the same idea. Bolay just has the best tasting options to me. They all offer fresh products and for the most part all offer fairly comparable dishes. You start by choosing 1 or 2 "bases" from a selection of grains, greens, noodles or vegetable mash, then adding your choice of 6-8 different (usually) roasted vegetables such as mushrooms, broccoli, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts etc. selecting a protein (or 2) from several fresh, unprocessed animal proteins (Chicken, steak, pork etc) and at least one vegan / vegetarian protein option is always available. Then you finish your "bol" with toppings such as Goat, Feta, or Parmesan Cheese, minted tomatoes, fresh avocado, Asian herb mixture and more and their house made sauces. My favorite sauces are Spicy Thai & carrot ginger; I like to get them both! All the "Healthy Food Fast" restaurants I'm familiar with offer vegan, gluten-free & other special dietary options. Bolay is 100% gluten free. But again, I just prefer Bolays options over the others. To me the few other places we've tried have been on the blah side; lacking in originality or effort to make their food memorable or different. And I can make bland roast vegetables myself. I'm actually a pro! So, for my money... Bolay is the top when it comes to offering delicious fresh food fast. 12/06/16: After posting this already long, redundant review I realized I didn't mention the dishes at Bolay we really like and would recommend and also often hear friends say they like. The miso glazed tofu is a stand out! I think the pieces are a little bigger than they should be but my wife who is not a fan of tofu at all, orders it every time. The Shrimp is our 2nd favorite protein. We have friends that say they aren't usually seafood eaters but their Shrimp is one of their go to's. But my all time good, good, gotta have is the cajun sweet potatoes!! I top them with creamy goat cheese or Feta and that is my nom nom! It makes me know why dogs growl to protect their food cuz a hand in front of my Cajun Sweets would make me growl! read more

My husband & I came there a couple days ago & we were greeted by such a happy staff Hadil & Gabby to name a few. They couldn't have been nicer by offering us samples of each of the items to taste so that we wouldn't make a mistake. They were offering their opinions on what would go good with what chose. Decent, but not the best. The food is good but it's very over priced. It just isn't worth it. I would rather splurge on going out to lunch somewhere at a nice sit down than spend $40 for 2 people on so so take out. I do however feel the food is healthy and they do a good job with presentation. The staff are great and service is fast. Love this place!! It was my first time going and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. They let me try anything I would like, so it made my bowl choice so much easier. I loved the Spicy Thai Shrimp. It was not too spicy but had a nice lingering heat. I also had the ginger broccoli which had a nice flavor, and it wasn't too over cooked. Black forbidden rice was my base and it was pretty bland -which I didn't mind with all of the ginger I had in my bowl. Avocado was a great topper with the carrot ginger sauce. I had a small bowl which was plenty big enough for me, but I would get a large one next time and I could eat with it all day. Don't forget to pick up your juice either...they are the best!! My 100th review! Another local spot for the health conscious in the chipotle style of ordering at the counter. Similar to Localgreens in Delray beach. I ordered the forbidden (black rice) with ahi tuna, avocado and various veggies. Came out to just under $10 for the small size. The small is a decent size sufficient enough for one average human to consume. When comparing to localgreens they seem to have better premium options in terms of protein. Okay, with all the positive 4 stars reviews I've read, I have to confess that I came in with a high expectation. Alas... expectations not met. We had two customized bowls. I gotta say that Anzo has better values. We selected spicy Thai sauce, and creamy garlic and herbs. Both sauces are very good and on point. My girlfriend and I are vegan and we've eaten here probably over 50 times between in person visits and delivery to the office, the food is great - we dock the two stars for a these reasons: Lack of consistency on certain items, in particular the Brussels sprouts, Cajun sweet potatoes, when done right are PheNOMENAL - but are often under cooked and hard. They have the appearance/marketing that insinuates the food is all natural, organic and Non-GMO, but in reality it's all chemically farmed junk - really wish they'd step up there and take the little hit on their margins to actually feed all their customers clean, healthy food! Finally, they recently upped their pricing slightly and have started to really skimp on portion sizes.
