    Avocado Toast with fried egg
    Bridgette R.

Today I had the pleasure of my Saturday morning treat after my walk at Bolt in Hermosa Beach. The avocado toast is simply divine it's filling, and fresh, and the eggs are made just right. They make the most amazing drinks I had a decaf sugar-free iced vanilla latte and it was awesome and my daughter had an iced Matcha which was fabulous as well. The young lady that is there at 8 AM on Saturday mornings is always super sweet. Staff is always kind pleasant, and welcoming! The pastries look so divine it is a must try you need to stop in and say hello to the staff and get some nice pastries and coffee.

I walked in and took at look at the menu and immediately felt a bit rushed by the patrons behind me so I let them order first. I was standing there, alone after the other people ordered, for quite some time and the woman at the counter takes off into the kitchen without a word. She didn't say, " any questions about the menu? Or, "I'll be right back to take your order". She awkwardly made eye contact popped into the kitchen for several minutes then came back to take my order. She returns to take my order and I wait. There are several areas to sit and relax, one immediately when you walk in and then 2 others as you walk back. It's a chill spot but I didn't immediately feel the warm and fuzzies. The ice coffee was good but it was the breakfast sandwich that makes up for the awkward interaction at the counter. The biscuit is delicious and who doesn't enjoy and bit of sweet and savory mix with the bacon.

I was excited to try a new brunch spot in HB, but it definitely has room for improvement. We sampled their brunch (see the picture below) -- I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner got the eggs Benedict. Unfortunately, my huevos rancheros were quite bland and lacked some key ingredients. I've tried this dish at various brunch places, and this is the first time I didn't finish my food. It's frustrating to waste food! That said, this place is new in town and has a trendy vibe, so I'll definitely visit again. Next time, I'll probably stick to safer options like their pastries and coffee. Hopefully, the brunch dishes will improve with more ingredients and flavor!

Came across this spot as I was walking to my car from Proudly Serving and I couldn't resist checking it out! The inside had a very modern feel and had hella outdoor seating to enjoy the beach views. I was super full from lunch, but just had to try out some of their pastries! The staff there was super helpful in suggesting some options and i decided on the rocky road cookie. Not too sweet and had amazing flavor! I also had this 7 layer dessert that was pretty damn good too lol. I will definitely be back to try more!

Disappointed by the service at the coffee shop. I just asked, is this my breakfast sandwich? " I have no idea" and walked away. Try harder.

Was looking for a breakfast place that was reasonably priced and served good food, and I Came across this spot. I ordered the ultimate Bolt sandwich with avocado. The sandwich was really good and the bacon perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. Overall great experience. (Slightly pricey)

I love this place! I got a hot mocha and a piece of their homemade chocolate and walnut cookie that was yummy. We tried the Ultimate Bolt Breakfast Sandwich. Sadly they were out of their homemade cheddar biscuits so I got it on their homemade English muffin. WOW! It was yummy! Their shoestring fries were perfect as I like them. I hope to come back soon!

We gave Barsha a call and they were more than happy to accommodate us! Plus they were extra kind to set our pup up with a massive bowl of ice cold water. We were quite overwhelmed by the food menu because literally everything sounded delicious. Literally everything we ordered exceeded out expectations. - The Falafel sliders are the most ordered item for a reason. Absolutely incredible with the perfect amount of flavor; deliciously crispy falafel and amazing buns. We ordered this dish twice! It was that damn good. - The crispy bread sounds pretty straight forward but it was also a standout. High quality bread all nice and toasty paired with this incredible olive-infused butter. - The Tunisian bruschetta almost got ordered twice as well. The tuna was phenomenal and makes for a great shared plate. I'm a sucker for any dish with an egg on it so will 100% be ordered this next time we stop in. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to order the lamb meatballs nor the tounsi brik. But I'm very eager to stop back in and give those a try. Also, major shout out to the staff. The service was absolutely incredible. CJ was our main server but literally every staff member that we interacted with was kind to our son, kind to our dog and kind to us. Servers gave what felt like genuine recommendations and it seemed like the team members enjoyed working there. We admittedly came in with low expectations and walked away convinced that we've found a new local favorite. Please go give this place a try!

Tableware is pretty basic, but the food definitely isn't, customer service was excellent too. We wanted one of everything on the menu, including the specials that day, but went with: Crazy about Beets - beautiful magenta beet hummus with yellow roast beet sprinkled with pistachio and dukkah with charred tomatoes. The flavours, texture, and freshness was a stand out. Really loved this dish.10/10 Roasted Cauliflower - OMG died and gone to heaven! 100/10 Falafel Sliders - 2 in a serve so you can share, crunchy, spicy, oh so moreish, good flavour and texture 8/10 Quinoa Tabbouleh - lovely lemony mouthfuls with a mint hit Chicken Mosli - the turmeric broth was amazing, soaking the veg and chicken in such a flavourful broth made everything extra 10/10 De Soi Rose - a pre mixed drink which had a pleasant berry taste (rather like Ribena if you are from the UK), refreshing and easy to drink Baumgartner white wine - Austria, little of a wine gum taste akin to sav blanc, not as much of the pepper taste I was expecting, but still eminently drinkable We really enjoyed our dinner and will be back again soon, with the beets and cauliflower definitely our first choices followed by something different, as we work our way through the entire menu!

The food was quite lackluster across the board, unfortunately, but I would come back for dessert and a drink. Having a reservation seems like a must, as there isn't much seating. Seems like a good place for mid-sized groups of 4-6 people. Price point was a bit on the higher end, especially considering the food we had. I don't think a single dish inspired me to "write home about." Lots of fusion stuff that just didn't hit how it should. Fox and Farrow is connected to another bar with a very different ambiance - more like a sports bar, from what I remember - and they were rowdy while watching a sports game. We ended up hanging over there after our meal.

The food is just delicious! Some dishes are regular. Some are new, often creative and flavorful. They keep it interesting and novel with new dishes. My favorites are the focaccia bread, prawns (new), ceviche, maple apple salad, prawn pasta, and steak frites. The steak and fries are really something special! Jason and his Team are excellent! Good service. Friendly and warm. As a South Bay native, Jason captures the local vibe of being friendly, chill (80s slang), and polite. His Team is the same, and I like it! I also notice that if a couple wants more quiet time, they catch the pulse and give more space. That's called reading the room! After a meal here, I always walk away thinking "man, another hit. So good!" And, the wife loves it too!

We opted for a few small dishes to share, including: - Kanpachi ceviche (4/5) very light and refreshing. Wish there were more of the fish, though - Sugar cube melon and lemon cucumber salad (5/5) super ripe cantaloupe and plenty of zing in every bite. My favorite dish! - Hand rolled spaghetti (3.5/5) it was a pesto spaghetti dish that was very flavorful, but I wasn't blown away by the handmade spaghetti: it could've been more al dente and the sauce didn't really taste like pesto; I tasted mostly lemon. A bit overly salty, too - Smoked and 1/2 fried chicken (3.5/5) the chicken was beautiful fried, with a thin yet hardy crackling interior that I hadn't quite had before in fried chicken. Sauce was sweet in its soy sauce base, but some cuts of meat were on the dry side - Coffee toffee pudding (3/5) probably the weakest of the bunch: we waited 8-10 minutes for it (as advertised), and it came in...a mug?? Not the most beautifully-presented, and overall, I did not get a lot of the pudding inside, mostly the toppings. Given that it's $12 for otherwise a microwavable dessert, it was disappointing - Chocolate flan (5/5) now this hit the spot! Honestly, it didn't even taste like flan, but rather a very smooth cheesecake. We're glad we added it on at the last minute! Overall, plenty of punchy flavors and innovative dishes that change monthly. However, the price point ($33+) per dish for such small plates is a bit much, but I can see myself returning for special occasions (and their breakfast burritos)!

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

The restaurant is very quaint located in a trendy and busy area of Hermosa Beach. Parking is scarce, even the lot a few blocks away is packed. Some of the dishes had nice flavor but since the place is chef-run, timeliness was an issue. It takes about 45 minutes per course because I'm sure there's a lot of pride invested in each dish. Since the portions are so tiny, you have a lot of time to talk. We started with the mussel tart. This was very tasty with smoked clam and fennel cream. The pastry coating was light but chewy. I would say the presentation was appealing but it reminded me of a Star Wars fighter jet. I was looking forward to the fish dish since we were hungry. Kinilaw is a local fish I wasn't familiar with. It was served with sweet potato and cucumber with coconut flavor. It was a tad underwhelming mostly because we were wondering where the fish was (see photo). The salad had nice flavor but I was not fond of the presentation. Either the plate was too big or this was a "half salad" concept. They are well known for the chili crab and it was delicious. However, this was another case of "where's Waldo" when trying to share the Santa Barbara rock crab meat. The porchetta felt like a heartier hot main dish. Very crispy skin and tender meat. Again dividing by four a bit challenging. Our server recommended it and it was a good suggestion. The broccoli purée and black eye peas were a unique accompaniment. The lamb pappardelle was an essential hot dish. The sausage was lamb and cumin with kale sprinkled on top. This dish was delicious and would be very shareable for two. The dessert was banana-themed. Our server was so pleasant and served it with a smile on an oversized plate. The place and staff are quite nice. The dishes, for the most part, are flavorful. Just be sure to have a few hours for dinner and don't expect to be too full.

So when we heard they were opening a new location in the Redondo Village, we were excited. Even more so to learn they'd be offering dinner and cocktails as well. The moment I closed the menu, a server was right there ready to take our order. It was really busy when we visited, so we expected a wait for our food, but no, 10 minutes later our omelette and eggs Benedict arrived. A few minutes after that, the owner stopped by to chat, and we learned how they were able to open the restaurant so quickly. (Turns out it wasn't quick at all, they'd been looking for a location for quite some time.) We were so impressed that we went back two days later for a late afternoon sandwich. The Village was already thriving, but with Martha's here, it just keeps getting better.
