This was our first time at Bombay Seafood. Everything was great, including the service. We ordered garlic naan, with chicken chili karahi, which I've never had anywhere before, and it was a great choice. Loaded with flavor. The chicken was super tender. We landed at RDU and wanted to grab something on the way home. Wow did we luck out! It was mid afternoon on a Saturday and the area was quiet. We were dressed in comfy clothes, and I wondered if we would stick out. Instead, we were ushered right in and served immediately. You could dress up and make it a date night or pop by in causal wear. The chutneys were not spicy, so I was curious what the spice levels would be for our entrees. We ordered chicken biryani mild and chicken madras (house special) medium. The spice levels were spot on! And the garlic naan was amazing. We rounded the meal out with rice pudding (yum!!!) and then ordered some food to go--knowing that we didn't have any food to make at home. Delicious food! The highlights were the butter chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan. The tikka masala sauce was a little heavy on the tomato but creamy and flavorful, and the soft, warm garlic naan paired perfectly with it. We tried the appetizer combo platter as well and everything was pretty good. Prices are on the high side, but the portion size is large; I was so full when I left. The service isn't anything special and the ambience could definitely benefit from some music and decor to cut through the monotony and silence of the space, but I would definitely return for the food. read more

The food is beyond fantastic! This is the best food for Indian cuisine and we have tried many places. The staff is super friendly and food comes out quickly. We usually get the Tandoori Mixed grill and we order it every time we go which is quite often. We even got our friends to come try and they would want to come back here again and again. I love Indian food, since I discovered it in Miami decades ago. Wherever I go, I search out the best Indian joints and check them out. I thought I'd found the two best ones in northern Raleigh, but tonight a new favorite emerged. A quick Google search popped up a new red pick point, about twenty minutes from my house on Leesville Road just south of the 540 ring. Bombay Curry isn't that big, or flashy, or beautiful, just a slim slot in a strip mall, between sub shop and a dentist and Mexican on one side of those and Italian on the other. I went alone on a Sunday night, and the place wasn't too busy...got sat immediately and quickly had a basket of crispy flatbread with onions, mint and tamarind, and a cold glass of water. The menu is fairly big, but well laid out. Every section had some tempting stuff but I skipped the apps and went straight to the main course-- I got the Chicken Chilli Karahi, Garlic Naan and a side of mixed pickle. I'd never had Karahi but it's pretty spicy, and they bumped it up a little for me as I like it hot. As others have said, they paid attention and got the level just right. Not long later it arrived, a plate of white rice, and all my items. And each one was awesome--best bread I've ever had...nice and light, fluffy but chewy, hot but not burned, and seasoned but not overwhelming. The chicken was moist and juicy, the sauce aromatic and enticing, the spice deviously strong but somehow light and almost refreshing. Just fantastic. Even the Achar (mixed pickle) condiment was excellent...I love that stuff-- even though after thirty years I still can't tell you what's in it,-- and each Indian restaurant seems to have a signature version. Most of them include some kind of unripe baby mangos in it and you usually have to go through it and cut out the big woody chunks of the seeds, but Bombay Curry's had none--someone had taken the time to do that in advance. The mustard and vinegar sauce was light and tasty and not face-melting as some can be. On the chicken or on the bread it was exceptional. The floor team was on top of the cold water refills, table strips, and cleaning, and at least three of the team of owners came by to quiz me on my experience. Which was great. I can't recommend the food enough--go NOW. And by the way the one owner brought the check, and intentionally skipped over the tip section, so I guess he was cool with none. (I did have three loose bucks I left anyway when I realized what he'd done.) Another great thing about Bombay Curry is that it's less expensive than my other favorites, by several bucks, and when has that ever been bad? I am loving this place. The ONLY thing that could have been better was the lack of music... I do enjoy Indian music and look forward to that when I eat there, especially when I eat alone. Apparently the mall has poor, old, wiring or something and they're supposedly working on it, but it would have enhanced the whole scene. But quiet or not, I will be back to be wowed again, and soon, with as many people as I can drag there. Trust me-- it's great food and good service...let's support them! Bravo! read more

Excellent food. I so love the Gobi Manchurian app. The malai kofta is so tasty and tikka masala delicious. Nans (we usually order the garlic nan) are terrific especially along with entree with sauce. I ah ent had a bad meal here and plan to try the whole menu. I'm just enamored every time I come and inevitable end up spending more and more. We ordered takeout which was ready when we got there and we received everything we ordered with no issues. We ordered the paneer masala with basmati rice, vegetable biryani, samosas, garlic naan, and cheese naan. Absolutely recommend everything, it was all so good and we are so happy to have found this place. It all came hot and fresh, we ordered everything mild plus spice wise. I will say the biryani was on the slightly spicier side which we loved but if you're sensitive to spice or have kids who don't like spice stick to the mild only. This was our first time trying and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back. The inside is very cute with a nice atmosphere, we will try eating in sometime as well. We waited months for this place to open. Tonight was the first meal. VERY disappointed with odd tasting and very bland chicken madras and Kashmiri lamb rogan josh. Spice level was supposed to be medium, but it was barely above mild. The madras was pretty much tasteless. Wow. So much for a local curry house. Unassuming store front, but very nice interior and incredible food. To start, the trio of dips/sauces with the chips were delicious. Had the chicken mango jalfrezie entree, which was the first time I'd seen that on a menu. It was fresh, flavorful and spicy. Don't worry if you don't like spice, they ask if/what spice level you'd like in the dish. Staff was warm and welcoming. This shopping center just got better with Bombay Curry joining. read more

Was excited for this place but found it somewhat disappointing. Vegetable samosas were excellent. Chicken vindaloo was so-so -- I'd put it third or fourth on my list after Zayka and Taj Mahal. They did get the spice level right. Rice was very bland, no seasoning. Service was slow but steady. Ambience was poor. I was put at a table in the front and had wait staff constantly walking by which was disruptive and noisy. There was also a lot of kitchen noise and hollering (I was right outside the kitchen exit) and constant hub bub from pick-up orders. They had Indian music playing but you couldn't hear beyond a very faint level due to the noise. Not relaxing at all. My table had also been poorly cleaned and had food detritus left from the last party. You could tell that they did not move the salt and pepper shaker when they cleaned the table. Owners seem nice and friendly. Chicken vindaloo, veggie samosas and Diet Coke was $35 with tax and tip. I do intend to try this place again, and ask for a quieter table. But I would rather travel to Brier Creek for Zayka at this point. read more

Fantastic Indian. Servers are always nice and friendly, plus any of them will stop by to check on your table. I've had 3 different chicken plates and they're all great, my wife likes the vegetarian options. They adjust spiciness according to your liking. The appetizer chips with sauce is a nice touch.
