The service was good the staff were always checking on me... The ambiance inside was a bit loud but was good outside( since no one like to eat outside) The food was okay... the hanger steak was okay, it wasn't season properly so cannot really taste it, the french onion soup was so, so... probably because it wasn't cooked as much ‍ I ask for a basket of bread without them letting me know that I had to pay for it... so had to pay $6. The bread basket wasn't warm and was ok. Overall I do like the place but it is overrated and too pricey. The food is ok but won't pay for that price.

Came to Dana Point for my best friend's birthday and visited this cute place! Plenty of delicious pastries, we tried the peanut butter cookie and cheese danish (both were 10/10!) Friendly customer service and great ambiance, very beautiful inside. My coffee was pretty strong but still very good, I added some sugar and it was perfect! Great experience! Would come back.

What a cute new restaurant where the former Maison Restaurant was. Atmosphere is very French Cafe very chic, light open and carefree. Our food was simple and delicious. The homemade Yogurt was excellent I can't believe how creamy and delicious it is! The honey added is so flavorful. I recommend this dish! I recommend highly!

My wife and I came here for lunch. We love French bistro food and decided to give it a try. My wife ordered the Angel Hair pasta (fire-roasted tomato, garlic confit, basil, extra virgin olive oil), and I ordered the French Dip (roast beef on a baguette, au jus, spicy aioli, onions, house greens with a side of horseradish). Both dishes were very good and the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The roast beef on my French Dip was very tender and flavorful. The portion sizes were adequate. Definitely not large. The ambiance was cozy with comfortable tables and chairs, with an abundance of natural light. I would describe our waiter as efficient but a little brusque and not all that friendly. I would definitely return to try other dishes and experience the pleasant atmosphere.

My friends brought me to Bon Appetit on Sunday to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful day. The staff were so friendly and made sure everything was perfect for us - including a check in from the owner! I love the new paint job - the blue is so elegant and the gold chandeliers are classy. Has a French cafe vibe for sure! And the food, as pictured, was amazing!! We'll definitely be back!

    Chic and elegant restaurant.

Delicious solid French food at this chic restaurant. Having lunch here feels like being in Paris, I guess! It's bright and airy on a sunny day. The French Dip with salad was hearty. The roast beef was tender as well as the baguette was soft enough that wasn't tough to bite. The Angel Hair Pasta was very good too! Simple and yet very satisfying with tomatoes, basil, in olive oil. It's definitely a nice restaurant to hang around all afternoon!

Wonderful first visit to Bon Appetit Cafe. Sat at the bar and had a lovely meal. Live music from next door wafted in at just the right volume. Service was great; food was delicious!

Bon Appetit Cafe is a nice addition to the Dana Point restaurant scene. The cafe took over the previous Maison location, retaining much of its charming decor, while brightening up the space and opening up the seating. It too has a French inspired menu, along with Mediterranean inspired dishes, including the Poulet Roulette, which appears to be an homage to the new owner Stephanos' Greek Heritage, with its spinach, feta and dill filling, along with a French beurre blanc sauce, is delicious. The Penne in Marsala wine sauce is also very tasty.

Loved the ambiance and decor, friendly service, and good food. Food came out quickly and they also have outdoor seating. Great place for breakfast/brunch.

Centrally located on a corner in Dana Point. Friendly staff and we seated right away despite a busy brunch service. Nice decor, very relaxing shade of blue gives the place a very chill vibe. The breakfast was very good, soft scrambled egg in a croissant with bacon. The pancake souffle and avocado toast also delicious, everything was well made and tasted fresh. Nice place for brunch, will return when we are down in this area again.

Great french inspired place for breakfast, lunch, or brunch located in the heart of Dana Point on Del Prado. Benedict is perfectly prepared with a hollandaise sauce that tastes so fresh. Pancake Soufflé is absolutely amazing and not overly sweet. Coffee drinks are a win as well. A must try if you're looking for something more than the usual breakfast.

It is on the smaller side with no indoor seating, but there are tables available outside which is nice if you're enjoying the weather. They had a selection of pastries that looked delicious, including pistachio croissants, danishes, and other pastries, although we didn't end up trying any of them. The drinks menu had a lot of unique options that all sounded great, which made it difficult to choose. Unfortunately, the service took away from the experience. We were the only customers ordering at the time, and since there were five of us trying to decide on our drinks, it naturally took a few minutes. The employee taking our order repeatedly asked if we were ready and seemed very rushed, which made us feel pressured to hurry up instead of enjoying the ordering process. I've worked in fast food and restaurants before, so I understand that customer service can be challenging, but being welcoming and patient goes a long way. A little more friendliness would have made a big difference. As for the drinks, they were good overall. I ordered the honey latte and really enjoyed the flavor. My only note is that I got it with whole milk, and the milk had a slightly funky, almost cheesy aftertaste that I wasn't expecting. I'm not sure what caused it, but it was noticeable. Overall, Coco Bloom has a great location, cute drinks, and pastries that look promising. I would gladly return, but I do think the customer service could use some improvement. With a more welcoming experience, this easily could have been a 5-star visit.

It's ok i can be embarrassing. He wont read this lol Okay but this is what I mean when I say "local coffee shop energy." J.C. Beans is adorable. Not in a corporate "we ordered our personality from a catalog" way. In a real, slightly chaotic, neighbor-knows-your-name way. Small parking lot? Yes. But that just means you've found something worth gatekeeping. Also there are outdoor seating by the street AND the parking lot, in case you want to hide yourself from the rest of the world. (I'm team parking lot, hiding.) The staff? So nice. So friendly. Like genuinely warm humans. They even offered my dog treats without me awkwardly hovering and hinting. Immediate loyalty secured. And the WiFi? Slapped. Hord. Like, I could actually open PDFs, upload things, and pretend I was writing something groundbreaking instead of rearranging paragraphs for 40 minutes. Patio productivity with dog present = elite setup. Coffee was solid, vibes were solid, humans were solid. This is the kind of place you accidentally turn into your personality. Would return. With dog. With laptop.

I'll be back to Coffee Importers soon--it's a great place in DP for a morning coffee and pastry and hopefully the "regulars" don't ruin it for everyone else. Original review: I want to love this place and it bums me out to have to write this, but this is one of the least welcoming places in DP. Not because the staff is rude. But because they allow this clique of regulars to take over the outside patio and harass people who aren't in their group. I've watched it happen a few times now, but today was the worst. A woman with a little kid sat down at an unoccupied table and started having their food. A couple of minutes later an older gentleman walked up and began verbally accosting her, getting in her space and demanding that she leave because he's been coming here for 35 years and this is his table. He kept accosting her until she was crying and took her child and moved tables. A few people tried to comfort this poor woman and her little kid. This guy was 1000% in the wrong. But staff didn't do anything. Instead, they walked up to the guy, said hi to him (of course, in a first name basis) and were friendly as anything. But not a word to the woman crying and trying to distract her toddler. Gross. It's not just this one guy either. There are at least a dozen of these "regulars" and Coffee Importers doesn't appear to do anything to stop them from harassing people, and actually seems to be fostering this environment.

First of all the line is out the door and it takes about 30 minutes to order your coffee. There aren't any menus throughout along the way and it's really hard to determine what is actually on their menu until you get inside of the coffee shop because most of their drinks on Yelp and Instagram are seasonal. When I was finally able to order, I ordered two different coffees because I wasn't sure what I was going to like given the coffee shop states all of their syrups are made in house. I think that's why the coffee didn't have any flavor and I didn't like it. The staff was nice enough to remake my drink, but even the second drink tasted like it didn't have any syrup in it and tasted like a regular latte. There is very limited seating inside of the coffee shop, merch is $30+ and you should be prepared for long waits.
