Food 4.0 Service: 4.2 fast & friendly UPDATE 6/28/26: This location has been consistent with food and service since opening. We continue to enjoy all the food on the menu and always wanting more chicken after the last one is gone! I suggest the Seoul sampler since you get to try a mixture of foods (only down falls is that you can only choose one type of sauce for the chicken and potstickers)

Karen C.

We hadn't been here in a while, so after my kids' dentist appointment, we decided to stop by since everyone was hungry. We ordered the mixed soy garlic chicken with drumsticks and wings, japchae, waffle sweet potato fries, and a couple of bowls of rice. It was more than enough food for our family of four. Overall, the food was good. The chicken came out hot and crispy, although it was a little saltier than we remembered. Thankfully, pairing it with the rice helped balance the flavor. The service was great as well. Our server checked on us several times throughout the meal and even stopped by to refill our water, which we appreciated.

I typically just order wings, but my husband and I opted to share the Seoul Sampler on our most recent visit. It was nice to try a few of the items I'd never had before (Bulgogi Fries, Potsticker & Street Corn). I wanted the pickled radish, rather than the coleslaw it comes with, so I asked to sub that out. Everything was very tasty! The chicken had light batter and was crispy. The fries were packed with flavor and had a bit of a kick to them. I really liked each item. Service was excellent. They were attentive and efficient, refilling water throughout the meal.

The last time I ordered food from here was years ago since the cost is higher than much smaller locally owned Korean restaurants. I ordered the Seoul Sampler and it was yummy! It consisted of fried chicken, bulgogi fries, potstickers, pickled radish, and Korean street corn. The potstickers were fried well, tossed in sauce, and were very crispy. The chicken was fried to perfection and had the perfect combination of sweetness to spicy ratio. Bulgogi fries were my favorite was the fries complimented the very flavorful chopped up bulgogi with cheese and green onions. The Korean street corn topped with cheese and pickled radishes were delicious, however both dishes are very easy to make at home and in my opinion are not special. Service was good as the employees were friendly and attentive. There were not very many customers eating here for dinner on a weekday. I'm glad moist towelettes were provided because eating this type of fried chicken coated in sauce is very messy!

Service is excellent all of the people at the counter were super friendly even went over their personal favs! I tried the limited time chicken cheese Sando but for me personally the cheese was not were it's at but I loved the flavor on the chicken itself. Throw some extra pickles on their or next time some cucumber salad and you'll have yourself a bomb meal. Definitely will be coming back and please keep updating the menu! Had great ambiance inside and is spacious for families and friends.

Mmmm Bonchon the best Korean chicken. Made an online order and picked up within 20-25 minutes. Customer service was great ...greet with a smile and asked if need utensils and other condiments. Everything was good!

So this place deserves a rating every single time I come back to Sacramento because it's so good. They deserve a five star every single time I come back outstanding nothing to say besides outstanding. Their chicken is just amazing. I kind of wish I knew how they make it because if I knew that I'd make it at home and they would probably not get any more business from me, but since I don't know how they make it and it's absolutely addicting. I'm gonna keep coming back and eating here.

Bonchon Elk Grove

First time ever at a Korean Chicken Place! I was driving around Elk Grove with my son and saw Bonchon at 8246 Laguna Blvd, Ste 370, Elk Grove, CA 95758 This is a major international food chain restaurant (see picture). The restaurant was very clean although did show signs of wear due to its age. The tables are lined up together (no separated booths) which when crowded can put customers too close together. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our server, Vivian. She was polite, professional, and helped us select from the menu. She provided Superior Service in the highest standards of excellence throughout our meal. We decided on the Seoul Sampler, which had Bulgogi Fries, Pork Potstickers, Korean Street Corn, Coleslaw. Also added Korean Donuts and Kimchi. So let's start with the food. We had the donuts as a appetizer which were hot and fresh. They were absolutely delicious and was definitely different tasting than a standard donut. I think what made it so good was the dough that was used and the way that it was cooked. The sampler then came out and I began checking different items. I was more interested in the Korean Chicken as I see it many times in K dramas that I watch. Again, it was hot, fresh, and excellent quality. It tasted different than standard fried Chicken that I am used to. It was lightly coated, fried, and you had different types of sauces on it. The Bulgogi was tender beef cooked to perfection, over seasoned French Fries. (Note-I am not a French Fry person but in this case I actually liked it). The Kimchie was excellent, though a bit spicy. Cole slaw, Korean Street Corn, and Pot Stickers were also hot and delicious. Which brings me to an issue that you need to be aware. The secret to a great meal here is it must be served hot and freshly made, which Bonchon succeeds at! Getting a to go order and eating it 20 minutes later may take away from the eating experience. I really like this place and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! Other customer orders looked excellent and all servers were customer focused.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and surprisingly not too busy! Our server checked in with us very fast and every 15 minutes or so while we were eating. We ordered the wings + drumstick combo, bulgogi fried rice, and soteok (not pictured). All were really delicious.

Searching for that perfect Crispy crunch? Well, the next time you want some chicken in Elk Grove, CA got to try BonChon on Laguna and order Classic Crunch $12 for 6 at lunch time. $18 for 10 after. The service durning lunch time is great. You can even dine inside while watching TV. The ambiance and service is very welcoming. Not a huge line or wait time.

Amazing place for fried chicken! The servers are very sweet and routinely check in. It is also well Air conditioned which is much needed in Sac. It's one of the bigger restaurants for Bon Chon that I've seen. Soy Garlic - best flavor! - chicken was nice and crisp Yangnyeom - sweet and some kick to it Seasoned Fries - it was good but not my favorite

I love Korean fried chicken so this is the spot closest to me to go. Service was pretty good and I got my food pretty fast. There is a lot of space in the restaurant. Overall I love bonchon especially if you are craving Korean food.

Is the food Halal?

It is not Halal.

Is dine in available?

Yes

Is this place still open? No one is answering their phone and it's Monday today!?

They are still open. I saw a note saying they wont be open Mondays and Tuesdays though.

Does the happy hour discount include takeout? Or do I have to dine in?

Dine in and takeout

Do you deliver?

We will soon offer delivery option on Doordash and FoodJets.

How do you know which set of chicken is spicy if they're all on the same plate?

There should be a toothpick on the spicy side. Or if you look at the color, the spicy side is more red than the soy garlic side.

I heard a legendary dog named mo fat hangs out here and sits on his rear and begs for food. Is this true?

I been there a few times and never seen him.... cool though......

Is the batter made with dairy?

No dairy.

How's their bulgogi sliders?

Mmm mmm yummy! Go bulgogi!

The stuff I normally order was not of the same quality. Idk if it's just a different cook or what was going on. The tamarind wings, the wings were oddly shaped and looked like wings were chopped in half or in pieces. No wings, a few drumsticks and some odd nugget sized pieces. This was the first time it has ever been like this. We always order the glass noodles and this time, we did not find little crab chunks like we have in the past. Maybe it was an oversight or forgotten? Flavor was still there but definitely not of the same quality. The Bo Ne was still yummy. Now, the bo tai chanh was so good before, this time there was barely any beef. For the price, and the name of the dish, I expect it to be a lot of beef or at least a decent amount. Instead we got a ton of pickled veggies and onions piled into a mound with some slices of beef hidden in there somewhere. I ate mostly pickled veggies. I am not sure what happened this visit but I couldn't help but feel like cost was being cut or something. The service is slowwwww but not bad at all. The servers get a pass cause they are very nice lol The lemon in our water was discolored/brown skin so we didn't drink it but thankfully I brought my own water.

I loved it just as it ORIGINALLY was, but the upgrades are AMAZING... The main entrance has been totally remodeled and a beautiful bar has been added. They also changed the tv area, in the main entrance, to look like the windows of an airplane instead of playing destinations on the screen, which I LOVED, because it enabled me to see sky views of places I have never and may never visit. They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. I thought it was so elegant and sopisticated. I am not a fan of washing my hands and then eating from a public restaurant, touch on the door to enter and exit. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! Felt FIRST CLASS, all the way. The furniture was AMAZING and looked elegant and high class. Some things on the menu had changed, but that is to be expected. My meal was delicious. I loved the free glass of champagne with my 1/2 dozen order of Oysters, which were scrumptious. They also updated their front patio, where after my meal I enjoyed a cigar. Plenty of seating. Every table is covered by HUGE umbrellas. What I thought was cute and unique, when I had finished my meal and paid my bill, I was given a token. There are gift machines inside and on the patio. I really wanted the Unicorn key chain, which I did not win, but I thought it was a nice touch for the kids and the kids at heart with adult wallets. Lol.

If I want something soupy, I'll go for the crab udon, if I want rice, the fried rice, something full of flavor, the Banh Mi Chao, something light, then the Banh Khot (good option since they don't make Banh Xeo on the weekends).
