Back in 2012, my boyfriend and I had tried the one location in Sunnyvale (that was the only location we had back then) and I remembered the chicken to be so spicy, we left and went to McDonald's next door to get sodas and chicken nuggets instead LOL. Fast forward to now, we decided to give it another try because our favorite 99 Chicken is closed on Mondays. Upon arrival, we were seated right away. It was a slow Monday around 4pm. We ordered half spicy, half soy garlic mixed wings & drumsticks and half and half potstickers. Okay, let me warn y'all about their spicy. They don't f/ck around!! That stuff is S P I C Y. I'm Asian and can normally take spice, but this spice has me wheezing, crying, coughing, dying pretty much, but it's SO good. We also ordered a small soju to share & that was perfect. The server made a point to ask if I like my soju on the sweeter or stronger side, then when it came out, he asked if the sweetness was okay or if I wanted it even sweeter. That really stuck out to me. Not only that, but another guy came by to ask if the food and soju were okay. Overall, we were so pleased with the food and the service that we decided we do like Bon Chon lol. Ordered New Years dinner for the family via online portal for a 5:20pm pickup. I get an email (not even a call) at 4:40pm saying my order was cancelled. I had already left my house and started driving to the restaurant. Had to call in to find out they messed up, forgot to change their hours and canceled everything for the afternoon. Mistakes happen, I get it, but this was pretty poor customer service. Get your act together and at least give your customers some time to make other plans if you can't deliver. read more

Ordered some wings and the salmon ball appetizer for the game tonight. I took a few bites from the salmon ball then suddenly I felt like I bit something hard. Originally, I thought it was a bone, but when I spat it out it was a piece of metal. I don't know where it came from but that's unsafe AF Update: I called in about my issue from my last order and Troy was very apologetic. He offered me a free order of medium wings and an appetizer to compensate for finding the metal piece in my food. We love Korean food and were disappointed with the quality of the food. The wings and bibimbap were just OK. The fries were cold by the time we got them. The best part was the side of the radish. Service was attentive. GPS had a hard time finding this particular location and circling the strip mall, we finally found them. They have a lot of flat screen TVs all which is nice. Korean fried chicken yes please! I've never heard of this place before but I am so glad I got to try it! The chicken wings are definitely a must order at Bonchon! My friends and I shared a Large combo plate with a side order of a medium wings. Between the 5 of us, we were able to easily kill the dishes we ordered. The pricing on the chicken wings is not the cheapest but It does get cheaper for the larger plates. Staff at this location are friendly and nice. The space of the restaurant itself is spacious and I can definitely see this place filling up quickly during peak hours (i.e dinner/lunch). I did see many customers also ordering to go which may be another option if the store is really busy. I would like to also warn yelpers that their spicy sauce really is spicy! If you have a low tolerance for spiciness, go for the garlic seasoning sauce. The servers typically warn the tables about their spicy sauce and it is no joke. I could barely eat one and I was dying. We ordered Half & Half spicy/soy Garlic Chicken Wings, Japchae, House Chicken Fried rice, pickled radishes, kimchi, Tropical lemonade and Lychee Green tea. Their chicken is addictive! They have got their fried chicken recipe down. Way better than any other fried chicken restaurant I've been to. I mostly get the non-spicy soy garlic sauce, but I heard the spicy sauce is even better. Also beyond fried chicken, they have a bunch of Korean-fusion side dishes and main dishes that are delicious all on their own. We got here when there were no customers yet. We were told our food will be ready in 20-25 minutes. 40+ minutes later, the food is still not ready. This is the second time this happened (yes, we went back to give them a second chance), so this must be the way it is at this branch. I really liked the drinks, I tried the mango green tea and Hibiscus lemonade, both really good. I liked the chicken was perfectly crispy-I preferred the soy garlic, the spicy was too tangy for me. Hole in the wall place! It's next to McDonald's on Blossom Hill before Almaden. Small place. First time here last night for dinner. Came before 8pm and place wasn't packed at all. Service was good and servers were attentive. Favorites: - House Fried Rice - Soy Garlic Chicken Sadly, they informed us that they had ran out of drumsticks for the night. It was fine because we still ended up getting the wings and it was good. They have different drinks too! I'd say more variation than other locations I've been to. Passionfruit lemonade was good. STRIKE ONE: a to-go order should never take more than 30 minutes even from a five star restaurant. I came to pick up my order at 7:13 pm and the clueless cashier was puzzled that my order wasn't there. Also, the store was nearly empty so I don't get the long cook time? STRIKE TWO: my order was never put in despite being put on hold and given a pick up time They then proceeded to try and punch in my order when I was there. STRIKE THREE: clueless cashier asked me what my order was SIX TIMES! Buddy, at that point it's not even worth my time or money. Thanks for wasting 1 hour of my time and making me more hangry. Advice to management: hire some people who are capable of running the Togo station with the mass array of food delivery services you're utilizing to capitalize on consumers. This is hands down the best Bonchon in San Jose! Just before I decided to give up on Bonchon altogether, the Blossom Hill location made me fall in love with their chicken all over again. I had several bad experiences over at the capital location and a few over at Santa Teresa so it was nice to finally see some people get it right. This location, by far, has the most consistent level of service and food. The lady that usually helps me (i think her name is Samira, sorry if i got that wrong) is suuuuper sweet and always remembers my name and order. She even makes an effort to make casual small talk which you never get at take-out places. As a matter of fact, the whole team there is dope and always puts out great service. I had lunch here recently with some friends. I had not been here before and had wanted to try it. I really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back. We started with a basket of regular fries. They were delicious. Crisp outside, soft inside. I could have eaten the whole basket myself and I practically did. Several of us got the soy garlic chicken strips so we got one big plate of those. They were tasty. The sauce was not too garlicy, more of a teriyaki taste. Easy to cut with a fork, good flavor, nicely cooked. They also came with a side of coleslaw which I really liked. It was diced into very small pieces like KFC which I love. My friends had a few other things - soy garlic wings, white rice, edamame, sort weird octopus dish. The wings were crunchy, but also tough and dry. After 1 piece my wife and daughter had enough so declined to eat anymore. I've been told to try the bone-in wings next time. The times I've been here, the workers were always friendly and the service was pretty quick. There are so many more items on the menu now compared to when BonChon first started in Sunnyvale. There were 3 flavors included with this combo, and all of them had barely any sauce on them. Almost tasted like they were the same across the 3 flavors. If this was my first time eating Bonchon, I would not come back. Since I do know they're potential for delicious chicken, I will give them a second chance. I love Korean Fried Chicken! I came here with 3 of my close friends and we all had a great time! We had a late lunch and all of us were so hungry for delicious food. What we ordered: Soju + Beer Small mango flavored soju Small peach flavored soju Small soy garlic drumsticks Medium Combo with half soy garlic and spicy Tteokbokki (rice cake) Fries A side of rice This was plenty of food and drinks for 4 people! I personally really liked the soy garlic flavor over the spicy one. The rice cake was a little different from what I'm used to since Bonchon's version added cheese on top. Fries were seasoned well and very crispy, just the way I like! Christine and her staff were very attentive, replacing our little trash bin for bones when full, checking in on us and refilling our waters when needed. Overall, I think the price for food and drinks are very reasonable. It was ~$100 (before tax) for everything and we were all stuffed! Came here for lunch with a few of my coworkers. First impression is this place is open, trendy, clean and well kept. Menu has lots of options but of course we know I'm here for the Korean fried chicken. We ordered wings in both spicy and garlic soy, the strips, japchae and fried rice. Wings were cooked to perfection, both sauces have amazing flavor! The garlic soy is my favorite. I was reluctant to try anything other than the famous fried chicken but I'm glad I did. It was ok but missing avocado and felt like it wouldve tasted better warm. 5 minutes later, the bulgogi tacos came out. They were the best tasting. Then the bulgogi fried rice came out and it was just average. Overall, fast food joint trying to pass as a real restaurant.
