This review is for the food only as we ordered through Postmates for pickup. The pickup though was a little spotty as the girl seemed confused and it took some time for her to get everything to us. Fortunately, we had taken a screen shot of the order and showed it to her to help clear things up. Now, on to the food. We ordered the large combo with soy garlic and spicy sauces. Probably the best I've ever tasted outside of my own home cooked. Every piece of chicken was well-cooked and juicy. The spicy has a HOT umami aftertaste. We also received a free side-order of coleslaw, which was surprising good and not too sweet. Also got the onion rings (excellent!) and kimchi (also excellent). It seemed really expensive at first but it fed three of us until our bellies were completely full and we still have a full box of wings and legs left. This is an awesome place for people loving chicken wings. I recently tried this place on a friend's recommendation. I tried their soy garlic and spicy hot wings. I tried small portion which has 10 wings, you can do half and half. I must say the wings are pretty filling and taste amazing. Crispy and tender and the sauce flavours are finger licking good!!!!! The chicken here is so good. I love the crispy skin and soy garlic flavor. Unfortunately, I can't handle the spicy so I can't enjoy it. You can order your chicken by order size (small, medium, large) and whether you want a mix of wings and drumsticks or just drumsticks. Your order comes with at least 1 side, but 2 sides if your order is large. There are combos if you're ordering more than just the chicken. The sweet potato fries are pretty good. I really wanted to like this place. I really tried to, I promise! First off, they have a great waitstaff, they are right on you when you need something, and are very swift when you ask for your check. The service here is fine. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but cozy, very simple, and has t.v.'s lined up along the wall. So why am I giving this three stars? Simply the food. I know this location has its fans, I totally appreciate that, but I found myself not really enjoying the meal as much as I could. The menu is very simplistic (which is fine, don't get me wrong with calling it for what it is) the chicken you can order ranges from small, medium, or large. They have two sauces, I believe one was garlic soy sauce, and the second one escapes my mind at the moment -- both were underwhelming in my opinion. If you order a large portion you're able to pick two free sides as opposed to one if you were to pick small or medium. Cole slaw, kim chi cole slaw, were some of the items available to your choosing. On the bottom portion of the menu, there are appetizers, additional side options, and drinks. I'm here to talk about the food. I'll start by saying it was meh. The wings and drums itself were particularly small compared to what I expected (since 99 chicken is the bomb), but something about the wings itself just didn't fulfill me. It was extremely crispy, but the sauce for the wings didn't have much of an impact on my tastebuds. I'm a sucker for chicken wings which hosts an army of flavors, whether it be a dry rub, smoked-in, or drizzled in sauce; Bon Chon unfortunately didn't hit that with me. I think the reason why this place is so trendy is because their clientelle are on the younger/hipper side and the decor, plating, and menu definitely cater to that demographic. Having had 99 Chicken and loved it, I just had to try yet another Asian-themed fried chicken restaurant! Came here for dinner with the boyfriend and 2 other friends, and I was shocked that the place was actually packed. Took about 20 minutes before we were seated, but it was definitely worth the wait. We ended up getting 2 large orders (half original + half spicy), and for the sides, we got 1 kimchi coleslaw, 1 rice, & 2 biscuits. Also got sweet potato fries & the soy garlic potstickers for appetizers to share. Their fries & potstickers were pretty good, and their chicken was just as good as 99 Chicken - very crispy & hot/tender/flavorful. The funny thing is they completely messed up our side orders...the waiter was very nice about it and immediately fixed his mistake (and even let us keep the wrong sides) - great service!!!!! The flavoring on the chicken is delicious and salty, with the perfect amount of spice on the spicy in that I can still enjoy my meal without crying. Service here was awesome despite how busy this place gets for dinner on a weekday night. Their spicy garlic soy chicken wings are really good. Ours didn't really have enough sauce on it which was disappointing, however they were still crunchy and tasty. I'd definitely recommend the kimchi coleslaw. Both flavors of chicken are really great, but our favorite is definitely the soy garlic! Both are crispy, but the soy garlic is just a little crispier since it's not covered in as much sauce. The chicken is a little sweet, salty, with a nice balance of spice. The spicy hot garlic definitely burns, but in a good way. Some people like the drums, but our preference was for the wings. Both coleslaws were fine. Light and not too vinegary, but the kimchi one could've used more kimchi. When we walked in, the girl up front told us it would only be a 20 minute wait for a table (we didn't feel like sitting up at the bar). Turns it only took a little over an hour for a table! Honestly, the people that work here would suck at Diner Dash. Apparently there was a "group of 8" that got there before us and a couple of other people waiting. When tables opened up enough for them to combine tables, they decided to seat this group. Only it was 4 people with the other half the group not present. I thought the reason almost all places only seat groups when the whole party is there so that it's more efficient to seat the groups that have everyone there or else you create a long wait for everyone else. The group of 4 ended up sitting there for over an hour at one of the two combined tables, before the 5th person showed up (not even the full 8)! Service was fine except for the incredibly inefficient seating procedure. At least the food came out quickly. The to-go line was 100x faster. You could choose a small, medium, or large amount of wings, drums, or both, with your choice of flavoring, either soy garlic, spicy soy garlic, or a blend of both. Being that it was our first time, and we didn't know how spicy was spicy, we just went with the soy garlic. We also ordered a side of rice with our wings, along with zucchini fries (sooo good with the spicy mayo) and the spicy soy garlic potstickers (which were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside). Now as far as the wings, they were absolutely worth the hype. Crispy, flavorful, and just outright the best chicken wings ever. The soy garlic flavor is just right, but if you can handle maybe a 7/10 for spicyness, definitely go for the spicy soy garlic flavor. The service was just as great as the food. Came in on a Friday night around 7:30 and the place just seated the last 3 available tables. We waited about 40 minutes for our table to open up, and were pretty starved by then... The staff was fast at cleaning an setting up our tables, as they knew we were waiting for a while. I was super tempted to order the large flavored Soju carafe (strawberry or peach soju) as part of the combo meal selections; however, since my wife doesn't drink I had a draft Sapporo (flavored Soju for sure next time). We scarfed down the order of sweet potato fries with sweet chili dip. Pretty good... We ordered up the large mixed fried chicken with half spicy soy garlic and half regular soy garlic flavors (4 drumsticks and 12 wings). The spicy flavor had the right amount of heat, and the skin was nicely battered soaked with the soy garlic sauce, and super crispy. The chicken meat was tender inside as well... This is damn good fried chicken!!! We also had an order of the scallion pancakes (crispy outside and packer full of scallions and onions). Overall, great food except for the wait. I heard about Bon Chon Chicken from Hot on Yelp so I had to try this place out. Finally went here last night and was definitely a great experience. I'm always fascinated by Korean food, so this was a place I wanted to try. I came here with a friend around 7pm and got seated. We shared a large mixed wings and drumsticks with both flavors with rice and kimchi coleslaw for $18.99. We got our plate of food about 10-15 minutes later and BAM! The drumsticks were HUGE! I was expecting something like Wingstop, but the size was much bigger. I really like the spicy garlic chicken the best. It has a lot of flavor in it that tastes so good. Kimchi coleslaw wasn't outstanding. It's basically coleslaw with bits of kimchi in it. Might as well order regular coleslaw. But either way, the chicken is fantastic. It's a must try! Bon Chon Chicken is in a plaza, so there's a parking lot for you to park in. Service was great and checked up on us when we needed them. Came in with a friend on a Wednesday evening around 8pm... packed! A bunch of people waiting outside also. I was pretty surprised because my first time coming here was several years ago and this place was never really crowded, annnd it was a Wednesday night. Just goes to show how crackin' this place is... However, there were 2 empty seats at the bar so we got seated right away :-) Waitresses were nice and joked around with us a bit. Food didn't take too long to come out. I ordered a small order of wings (6 pieces) in the Soy Ginger flavor ($7-8, don't remember), with a side of rice. It also came with a small serving of pickled jicama. Friend and I also ordered a pitcher of moon. $15, and we both got about 3 cups each from it (6 cups total). A cup of beer itself is $5, so that was great value. The chicken is perfectly sized and not too dinky like the wings you'd find at BWW or Wingstop, and aren't too huge where you get a mouth full of meat (ha) versus flavor at 99 Chicken. The chicken is also perfectly fried and it's so crunchy... the great part is when you take a bite into that goodness, you won't have oil flooding into your mouth either. The only thing I can complain about is I think when I first went here years ago, there was definitely more glaze/sauce on the chicken, and everyone's wings looked like they were glazed to the very bare minimum as if it was a dry rub. I had to ask for a side of sriracha mayo to finish my chicken without getting bored of it. I did read a few reviews here that you could ask for more glaze, so I'll be definitely doing that next time I head back to Bon Chon. Side note: don't get why their happy hour is only posted in their restrooms and not outside in the dining area at all, nor on the menus. This place was awesome when they first opened and had always long wait times for a table. I was in the area and noticed no line anymore so we went in for lunch. 1. The chicken is really dry. It used to be juicy. Maybe I got unlucky with some old oil or chicken. 2. The glaze is inconsistent. It used to cover every piece of chicken all over. Now, some pieces are like half glazed. 3. They have a lot of servers but the service was pretty slow and they didn't seem to care. They were busy talking with each other. Quality has gone down and you will notice it. The sauce isn't too heavy or too sweet/salty to the point where you get sick of it after you've only had a few. I also like that the chicken wings are smallish. Best of all the chicken is so crispy! decided to come here earlier today based on the top picks from yelp. they have a very simple menu. today my boyfriend and i got the med. with 10 wings. we ordered it half and half, so it came with soy garlic and spicy garlic wings. our server noted that it would take at least 20 mins for them to be ready. while waiting on our wings, we were munching on the regular fries and curly fries that we ordered. the fries are YUM! its super hot and crispy! just as we finished munching away, our wings arrived! the wings appeared fairly large. i was amazed by the turnout! (i came here with very lil expectations.) the wing is fresh and hot of course! we waited 20 mins for them, so they better be! =P OMG...its super crispy! oily but not the gross bad oily. the meat is super juicy! for just wings, they are pretty darn a-MaZing. ;) crunchy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside. it was drizzled with just enough sauce so that its not too messy on the fingers and face. between the two flavor of choice i prefer the spicy one. the flavor was more intense and satisfying. the other flavor was just EHH. its kinda just bland. along with the wings, came with a side dish, and we chose coleslaw. when i saw it, it didnt look too appealing,so i didnt even bother tryin' it =P BF did, and he sed its guhross. with all that we ordered it came out to be $24 with tip. service was pretty cool. he always made rounds to refill our water. too bad this is far out from my hood, or else id have it more often. and another thing i wish is that it didnt take 20 mins for the wings. kinda longgg. otherwise, i think we made a good choice of coming here today. =) read more

Sweet potato fries with sweet sauce (the one you eat with an eggroll) - it's so good (two stars for that!). so bad but good. The zucchini fries were pretty good too (makes that three!). The drums and wings are much smaller and drier than 99 chicken - more like Kyochon's style. It is also pricier than 99 chicken and there is no free salad. The coleslaw needs more sweetness and smaller lettuce. The biscuits were fluffy. Great service and clean atmosphere (fourth star). Plenty of parking. Being that this was my first time going to a Korean fried chicken restaurant, I didn't know what to expect (NO, I do NOT live under a rock). I found Bon Chon here on Yelp, and decided to try it out with a co-worker of mine. Upon our arrival, the waitress was very polite. After learning that it was our first visit, she recommended that we try the mixed chicken. We ordered the large, and decided to go with the soy garlic/spicy soy garlic mix. The chicken came out within 10 minutes and DELISH! The skin was CRISP, lightly flavored, and delicious. There was an audible 'CRUNCH' when biting into it. Love it! Just two flavors, I like the spicy one the most (it's not like spicy, you can't feel your tongue or even really spicy at all, just flavor. I love how the meat is so crispy. I like this place lots, but most of my extended family prefers 99 Chicken over this place. In comparison, 99 has more flavors and is more savory and not crispy at all. They have free salads and stuff. Here its not necessarily free, but they have a lot more options than just chicken and theres biscuits too (it's good). I wouldn't recommend the kimchi coleslaw, my brother loved it while I thought it was gross. I liked their spicy rice cake, super good. The added cheese was weird for me though. And I thought their scallion pancake was okay, its good, but really eggy. Their zucchini/curly fries/sweet potato fries aren't shabby.
