Bonefish has a reputation of serving fresh, elegant and delicious food with family feel and tonight they did not disappoint. They hosted us all with ease and the food came out timely and each plate better than the last. They even made accommodations for my allergies and bought me a different dessert and offered me a different cocktail. This location is a but far but who wouldn't travel for great and friendly service. Ok now that I have gushed over the service lets talk about the food and cocktails. Bang Bang shrimp, waygu beef sliders, and calamari and that was just the appetizers. The apps were served with a apple infused vodka cocktail with honey and cinnamon.... it tasted like a cool apple cider and an apple pie had a love child. 2nd course was swordfish, with pumpkin ravioli and fresh green beans which was served with an Oregan chardonnay. Last was the dessert course served with a brown and icecream that was rich and decadent just like a dessert should be...it was paired with a chocolate liqueur cocktail that was too pretty to drink. Myrtle Beach's Bonefish always a 4-5 star experience so expected that here. Not the case. Bang Bang shrimp overly sauced, potstickers couldn't tell Waygu beef flavor from if it was a different meat, and Ahi Tuna bowl underwhelming. I actually had to request soy sauce to eat. Service was fine. I don't think the main bartender should have to also serve high tops in bar but she was good considering her having to multi task. read more

I don't dine here very often but the half dozen or so times that I have, everything has been superb. It is somewhat of a splurge (for most of us) but it is, in my opinion, the best of its type in Pineville, an area greatly in need of similar high end restaurant options. If it is high quality, wild caught seafood that you want, there are few options period, and that stuff ain't cheap. It is located at the very busy intersection of Carmel and Pineville-Matthews roads although it is somewhat easy to miss, as it actually backs up to Carmel Rd instead of Pineville-Matthews as its address may imply. Once discovered however, parking is plentiful. Normally reservations are recommended, if not necessary here, on a Friday or Saturday night, but due to COVID-19, we walked right in around 7:00 to a dining room that was about quarter full. You enter thru a revolving door directly into a roomy bar area with a lavish bar on the left and several roomy booths to the right. Further to the right is its understated yet tastefully decorated, very intimate, candle-lit dining room with plenty of booths surrounding white paper topped tables. Beautifully polished cherry floors extend throughout. Menu options range from grilled chicken, to steaks, to of course, a wide assortment of fish ranging from $17 to $35. We started things off with their signature appetizer, spicey Bang Bang Shrimp ($11), which is a must, and a couple of side salads featuring hearts of palm. They also serve up complimentary fresh sourdough bread with olive oil. Everything was excellent. As an entree, I went with Lily's Chicken ($17) and it did not disappoint! It was a fire-grilled, split whole chicken breast topped with wilted spinach, a mound of goat cheese and artichoke hearts. Delicious! My wife ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl ($16). It was delivered by the chef. The tuna was very fresh and dish was beautifully presented. We both enjoyed it. Service was friendly and attentive, as usual, and the place was immaculate. I have been to this location several times but each time it keeps getting worse. From food coming out with bad temperatures etc. the icing on the cake was recent. Came on a weekend afternoon and had a gift card given to me as a gift. I was expecting for the meal to be covered. During the time of redemption the manager Paul noted he couldn't redeem as the gift card expiration was 2030 and his system only allowed gift cards to 2029. I asked if he called cooperate for bone fish or the number on the card. He noted he called the number on the card and he could not use it. We ended up paying. Afterwards I called the number in the card and spoke to a rep who noted that they would have given him a card or numbers with another expiration date if needed as The card had the funds. Also they had no call on file for the card number I was calling about! If the manager took the time to call and was honest the issue would have been resolved! Why lie and not try?Confused about that. The last time I ate at a Bonefish Grill was in September 2013. I was in New Jersey for two weeks of training for work. I loved the food so much that I ate there once more before heading home. Eating at this chain was long overdue. In Charlotte, I told my friend that I'd like to go to a Bonefish Grill. She was good. I booked a reservation online for 7:15 pm. The process was easy and straightforward. We got there a few minutes after said time. We were promptly greeted by a polite woman who seated us in a booth. I got the following items: - Diet Coke with free refills - Complimentary bread with delicious garlicky oil dip - Crab cakes - Blackened fish tacos with greens - Chocolate lava cake with strawberries and whipped cream on the side My friend and I shared everything, except for my Diet Coke and blackened fish tacos with the side greens. The funny thing is that I don't recall what she ate for dinner. The crab cakes were amazing. There are lumps of crab meat delicately seasoned and made to perfection. The remoulade was so good that we asked for more. The blackened fish tacos hit the spot. Grill the fish and place the portions in soft tacos, without dunking them in batter and making me figure out where the fish is. The dressing with the green salad was yummy, too. The chocolate lava cake was incredible! So good. It was one of the best lava cakes that I have had in years. The strawberries were fresh and naturally sweet. My friend ate all the whipped cream. She was good to remember that I don't eat it. Our server was personable and helpful. He promptly got me drink refills, which was nice. Meals can get pricey. Bonefish has always been a huge favorite of mine. It's absolutely my go to spot on Wednesdays. While traveling for work, it's always nice to stick with reliable chain restaurants when searching may be difficult. This location is like other BF locations. Nice bar area with free seating and tables on the opposite side. Food quality is always top notch here. Everything is consistent with other locations. I have recently started ordering the Salmon superfood salad and it is absolutely splendid. To save on calories, I opted for the dressing in the side. Service at the bar was friendly and great. (11/13/19) Well we've returned, my wife after a spell of two years, and I after having been at a Yelp event here in October. We were given a $25 gift card by Carmen Ganoe, and this seemed like a perfect time to use it. Apparently 8:30pm on a Wednesday night is the perfect time to be here as the dining room was mostly empty. Our server tonight is Chelsea. My wife had ordered fish and chips just as she did two years ago. I have ordered a bowl of corn chowder to start and the thermidor gnocchi. Okay, the chowder had really good flavor, but it was lukewarm. The gnocchi also had excellent flavor but was only warm instead of being hot as I expected. The bread was great. It was hot and fluffy & was accompanied by a nice dipping sauce. My wife's fish and chips was good. The batter on the fish was light and tasty & the fish was hot. The only thing that was odd about the dish was that the tartar sauce had dijon mustard in it. The mustard overwhelmed the sauce completely. For dessert I had a slice of the coconut pie. It was as good as it was a couple years ago. I have to say that there are definitely issues in the kitchen with temperatures of dishes. The flavors are spot on but someone needs to be checking that the dishes are going out hot and not barely heated. I would definitely ask to be seated in Chelsea's section for future visits. We had dinner here with 4 other people. We had a very friendly server who was willing to answer any questions we had them about the menu. Besides grilled fish and seafood specialties, the menu also featured steaks, chicken , soups and salads as well as appetizers, sides and limited desserts. Our party ordered: Imperial seafood dip, pecan parmesan trout, 18 oz. bone in rib eye, Lilys chicken and 2 specialty menu items, cranberry chutney salmon, and cod picatta. Our sides we ordered were garlic mashed potatoes , green beans, and coleslaw. 2 desserts, we chose were raspberry cheesecake included with the speciality menu as well as the salad. All on all the food was plated nicely, came out hot, and was tasty. The dip was delicious, bread and olive oil on the table very good. My salmon tasty and moist. My green beans were to firm and crunchy and I did not eat or enjoy them. My coleslaw had the initial aroma of cello packaged cabbage but was tasty. The steak was cooked to order and tender. Trout, Cod and chicken all good and tasty. Portion size adequate, prices moderate. The cheesecake pieces were small and average tasting. Overall, We would probably return here again. read more

Decided to try this restaurant for a whole meal instead of happy hour appetizers and drinks . It was nice to see all tables were prepared with clean white paper due to new corona precautions . The atmosphere was very nice, the bang bang shrimp, toasted bread with pesto, and Thermidor gnocchi was delicious. The filet and garlic mash needed heavy seasoning. The watermelon martini was not for me, but did like the 2 chilled watermelon pieces as the garnish. However I was more disappointed with service. Not with our servers because I see they were doing 2 -3 jobs , but when i asked one of the host ( I assume , because she was wearing a black shirt) for steak sauce, she responded with I have to ask your server. Last week, my friend and I were the first guests through the door of Bonefish. We had visited before, and our stomachs were in great anticipation of some Bang Bang Shrimp. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and tasted just as good as you'd expect at a place like this. My only issues were with the crab toppings. If a restaurant offers crab topped anything, I expect it to be more than two pinch full of pieces. Is this what people who love Chipotle gripe about with their meats? Perhaps. I ordered some crab fried rice. All of the crab was just tossed on top of the dish, not mixed in. Certainly, that's not a huge deal- it's not troublesome to just mix it all in, but I wonder why it couldn't be done that way before getting to the table? My friend's crab topped fish had about 5 pieces for a whole filet. Maybe the prices of crab went up lately? I admit, I haven't been watching the news very much lately. To save my sanity from the grievances of the new President and his Twitter fingers- maybe I missed out on what's happening in the seafood world. That aside, the crumbs on the seat had to be dusted off as I sat down, one plate and two forks were dirty with visible food pieces. That's a bit much for a newly opened restaurant. When ever I come to bonefish I always enjoy my seafood here, I never feel like I've overpaid here but anything seafood in general is pretty expensive. Over the few occasions I've done my best to try different things on the menu and everything has always came out delicious. The restaurant itself was clean, and the service was really good. Our waitress was great my and my Crab Crusted Cod was on point, I finished my whole plate. Regretting eating the whole thing because after the bread the delicious Bang Bang Shrimp I pretty much had a severe food baby for the rest of the night. The food was not good. I have had decent experiences in person, but I got a to go Parmesan trout and an up charged Mexican street corn and it was horrible. Have eaten here many times mostly because my wife likes it and usually it's average. This visit I was alone and came because it was convenient as it is near the hospital my mother was in. Service was slow. Extremely slow. Not because they were busy or short staffed but staff were no attentive to the point I was about to walk out. There were two bartenders. One took my order and then would disappear. The other never even acknowledged me even thought he stood directly in front of me talking to another Customer for quite a while. After having to ask about my order it finally came. Was not cooked correctly and if you're dining at a upper scale restaurant you'd expect better quality food like real potato's not instant. On Sunday, March 19 I called for a reservation. I was told there was no need and no wait line (12:30 p.m.). When we arrived about 10 minutes later, the host asked if we had reservations. I explained my discussion on the phone. The person, offered no apology for their mixup and gruffly said the wait time would be about 15 minutes even though the place appeared to be more than half-empty. He seemed to be handling several duties, i.e. host, bar, and kitchen support. After about 15 minutes we left. The host acknowledged with a mere "Okay." A look at their menu explains why the place is half-empty on Sunday when most places are very busy: overpriced ... but also understaffed and a host indifferent to customers who cannot be seated according to his seating arrangement. I started with red sangria, it was great, then opted for the special dinner, fried cod and shrimp, it was wonderfully delicious. I also substituted the seasonal vegetables rather than the fries. We came here for a special occasion dinner, so we opted for the Chilean Sea Bass. Our waiter also highly recommended it. We were willing to pay the $30 each for a quality meal. Our server, who talked extreeemely fast, asked if wanted some sort of garnish on top. We agreed and soon our dinner arrives -- with a couple of pieces of asparagus topping. Presentation was what we would have expected. What we didn't expect was the bill. For a couple of pieces of decorative topping, we were charged an additional $10 each!! Are you kidding me? We complained to our server and told him had we known we would be paying $20 for a few pieces of vegetable, we would NOT have requested it. Furthermore, we were NOT told or advised of any additional charge. Our server said he would discuss with his manager. In the end, they only removed $4 from the bill from each of our orders. Really Bonefish Grill? Your server did not tell us of the extra charge and we tell you we're not happy with the surprise addition to our bill, and this is the best you can do?? Avoid this place.
