We went on a Tuesday nite after Christmas. They were quite busy....we didnt mind waiting for a table but we did mind waiting on our server after we got the table. Once we sat down ...several parties had left and i could only see her taking care of one other table. When you get your salad 60 seconds before the food arrives...it isnt good especially when you order lobster tail. The dinner became unenjoyable because of the terrible service. Not worth the $90. I must say, I was very disappointed by bonefish today. I completely understand that it is a holiday weekend and know that it is very busy. My frustration was with the way we were waited on, (or should I say the lack thereof!!!). As our entire table as well as a neighboring table observed. Our waitress completely ignored our table multiple times. Not sure why exactly! Finally when we asked a fellow waiter to get the manager, our waitress decided to come running over and ask if we needed anything. Completely unprofessional and quite rude. She, made the attempt to try and charge us for items we did not ask for and we asked for plain grits with butter only. Grits were brought out with cheese already in them. We have a child with a dairy allergy and fortunately I tasted them first or they would have been served to my kid. After inquiring a food runner about the grits, they said they only make the grits with the cheese in them. Good for after work cocktails but grossly mismanaged. I travel for work about 125 nights per year and visit many restaurants. I've been coming here for about 4 years sporadically (normally for a drink) and the service is the highlight. Other than that it's over priced and poorly managed. Good luck finding a parking spot. No valet. Christmas Eve dinner for 7, reservations at 6:45...finally got a table at 7:45. And that table was undersized for a group of seven. Undercooked chicken, fish was bad, ribeye was good. Manager let large groups sit without reservations. Bang bang shrimp is good, but overrated. Ahi tuna is good. Remainder of menu is less than spectacular. So many other good restaurants in Jax. Save yourself the hassle and go to a place where they know how to treat customers properly. read more

We were treated by our youngest daughter who had given us a gift certificate. Good choice Melissa, this was a perfect dinner. We would say that dishes are very generous. A couple can ask for one famous Shrimp appetizer, share a Cesar salad, share a main dish and a delicious dessert. If you don't share you will overeat. Server was efficient and pleasant but needed a bit more training on how not to pass the dishes across but rather walk around and serve it from the proper side. Reservation for Valentine's Day at 6:30, arrived at 6 and was told 15 minutes, we left after checking in at 6:40 and told 20 to 30 more minutes, got a text at 7:15 that our table was ready, why bother with a reservation, won't be back to this location even though it's very close, obvious management issues. read more

Very disappointing - menu not what you get - ordered the Pad Thai bowl - menu specifically says comes w/ fresh greens or fries - ordered the greens - waiter said "oh they're in there." They weren't - only greens were a couple pieces of chopped scallions - husband ordered the lobster stuffed shrimp on creamed spinach - menu says it comes w/ 2 sides - he asked for rice - waiter said no sides - he could swap out the spinach if he wanted rice - we showed him the menu where it says 2 sides - waiter said that was misleading and not true - we won't be back - read more

Used to love this restaurant, and the service is still pretty good, but I got severe food poisoning from the wolfish special last week and have had stomach issues ever since. I had only two bites and sent it back because it tasted horrible and extremely fishy. Manager comped my meal which was nice but it was too late. Had to take a sick day the next day. read more

This place was WONDERFUL!!!! Just make sure you know what you are ordering. My wife took me here by surprise and I didn't know the menu. We went thanks to the wonderful Mr Neil Patrick Harris. But anyway I ordered something that turned out I didn't like and our waiter John Thomas was AMAZING! first the dish was too spicy so I told him and he said it was no problem and had the guys whip me up a new plate without all the spices and it was better but I don't know I just didn't like it and for most waiters that might be a problem but not for John! He actually cared! And said no problem you didn't like it doesn't hurt my feelings I'm here for you. So he actually took the order off our ticket which would have been about 60 bucks and got it reduced to around 30 for us and we also had a 10 dollar off coupon but I was hesitant about using after having him take off my order but even then the great John did not falter! And gave us the $10 discount. I don't blame the cooks at all for the food it just didn't suit me next time I will be ready and I know what I will get and you bet your ass John got a pretty nice tip. Last week had to go to bar for drinks after not being waited on on patio after 15 minutes. Then 30 minutes later still not waited on and had to go to bar to order dinner. Told the night manager and he was apologetic and comped the meal. Very nice of him. Returned tonight to patio again and same problem, not waited on for 40 minutes and had to go to bar for drinks. This time too mad to get up and order diner at bar. Never again. read more

I went there tonight & while it was super busy our appetizers got out very quickly: the entrees did take a little longer but that was to be expected as we came in the middle of dinner rush. My steak was overlooked & the veggies were not quite cooked enough however after notifying our server the manager came out, offered a new steak & got us new veggies. Great place for happy hour or drinks. The bar is fun, full of locals, and runs like a well oiled machine. If you stay for dinner, it's a different story. Would like to have ordered a glass of wine, but our waiter never showed back up (after he brought me the wrong enree). I did catch him to bring the correct entree, but never came back to refill tea or water, much less get a glass of wine. Too bad the bar and the restaurant are like night and day. read more

At 6:30 we had still not been seated, and we overheard a waiter saying that no bus help had been scheduled, and that food out of the kitchen was taking 45 minutes. Okay. So this is my Go-To place with the my boyfriend. We both love the food and and the price is right. But something was off, it seemed like very time we would go there the service would be worse and worse. UNTIL THIS VISIT!!! 6/24/16 We had a young waitress named Kaila. We hadn't seen her before, and thought maybe she was new or some how just never had her as our server. We started with bang bang shrimp (of course), and we really wanted to try the mussels josephine. We love mussels, and oysters and these were just not good... The smell reminded me of a kitty litter box. I tried a few thinking it was in my head, and my boyfriend had one and couldn't do it. Kaila asked how it was and i told her they weren't great. She quickly took them out from in front of me an offered something else. Yes, I agreed to get something else, the Tuna sushimi.(which was amazing) The manager Josh brought it out and apologized for the mussels, with out giving excuses. I was surprised honestly. They fixed the problem very kindly and quickly!! Kaila the proceeded to give us the BEST service we had ever gotten at Bonefish!!! and Josh i later found out is a new manager. So now we will Probably be back even sooner than last. It was a wonderful experience and a huge Thanks to both of them!! We used to come to this Bonefish all the time and loved it but this time was a total fail on mainly the back of house end. I would say that about 50% of the food was edible, the rest was terrible. The calamari were way overcooked, leaving it dry and chewy. Very small portion too for $11 appetizer. The omelets were downright terrible. The eggs looked like they came from a carton which I'm sure they did because there was no way they were fresh cracked. The omelettes were served cold with raw jalapeños on the inside. I've had better omelettes at Denny's and IHOP. The server tried to serve our still rose in champagne flutes and I asked for regular glasses and she explained that rose can be served in either champagne glasses or regular glasses and that since it was a smaller bottle she figured it would be okay. First of all, it was a regular size bottle 750ml, so I have no idea what she meant when she said that. Secondly, I have my level one sommelier certification I don't need a lesson on what glassware should be used, and no still rose should never be served in champagne flutes. Anyways, definitely a disappointing experience and will not be back to this location. read more

Let me start by saying that I've always loved eating at Bonefish Grill until today. My daughter and I came in for dinner at the Jacksonville Beach, FL location and we were not greeted at all by the hostess. (Young petite brunette with glasses) We were standing at the podium waiting to be seated and an older couple came in after us and the hostess sat them first. It took her awhile to return to us and then she finally seated us. Then we weren't greeted by our server. It just seemed like everyone here was off today and not happy with their jobs. We got bang bang shrimp that was over cooked and had a really nasty taste. (This has never happened) Our server didn't check on us for a long time and when we told him about the shrimp he said well, nobody else had a problem with it. Like I was an idiot for being truthful and he didn't even apologize, nor did a manager come to speak with us. Honestly this dinner tonight was a big disappointment to me and my daughter. I have always had exceptional service at a Bonefish until now. So.. disappointed! I felt like a bother to the staff. I hope to never return here because my server has absolutely NO interpersonal skills at all. Our son gave us a gift card for Bonefish for our anniversary; we had never been before. Had heard lots about the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer so we knew that was a must try before we even walked in the door. My husband had made a reservation and indicated it was out anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the Hostess wished us Happy Anniversary as did our waiter (who also told us to save room for dessert as it was on him in honor of the celebration) to the manager who came over to ask how everything was and offer his well wishes. The service was awesome!! Alex was the best waiter; he was attentive, but nor overly so. The food was outstanding. The Bang Bang shrimp exceeded expectations. The portions of the appetizer and the main course were huge. I had the haddock (I had never eaten this fish before but based on our waiters recommendation decided to try it); it was superb.
