We have eaten here over a dozen times, just this year (2018). It is consistently excellent! My experience with Bonefish Grill is that each restaurant is as good as the management, and this one at UTC is really good. Prompt service, excellent food. As a tip. If you ever get a chance to try the swordfish with pumpkin ravioli, it is out of this world! It's a holiday special, and it was off the menu... But there were six left, and our server went the extra mile and got me one. For regulars, they change up menu offerings to keep it interesting while building on their solid core of salt and fresh water fish. She was so relaxed yet professional and. very knowledgeable with preparations. I do Keto as much as I can, so she even asked the chef for a twist on the dish. We ended up deciding on the Cobia with an extra side of lemon sauce. My sweetie had the salmon special which was grilled perfectly with a mango sauce. Tara checked on us often but never rushed us. I've been to the other Bonefish Grill on 41 many times. This Bonefish is just as good. I had the Ahi tuna sashimi for dinner with the house salad. I love the citrus dressing they use on the salad. One of the pieces of the sashimi tasted fishy but I still ate the rest. I informed my waiter and he got the manager involved. The manager apologized and offered me another one for free. I had shrimp over mahi-mahi with some type of sauce. The shrimp were actually tough as if they had been previously frozen. The mahi-mahi was overcooked and dry. My wife had chicken marsala. It was the strangest marsala that she's ever had. Again the chicken was over cooked-actually grilled, the portion was inadequate, and the sauce had a peculiar taste. We came in for dinner around 9:30 pm last Friday and by that time the dinner rush had already been over so we were seated right away. The front staff there were very friendly; they greeted us with a warm smile when we arrived and when we left. I ordered the Authentic Lobster Bisque and the Grilled Mahi Mahi. The Lobster Bisque was much better than I had expected as I am not a huge fan of their other soup option. The bisque was very creamy and not overly salty. I could see several lumps of lobster meat in it too. The Mahi Mahi was delicious and I could tell that it was freshly made. For my sides, I picked the French Fries and Potato Au Gratin; both were pretty good but not the best pairing for my fish. I hope to return soon to try the Misoyaki Sea Bass before it's taken off the menu. read more

Wow, someone really made a bonehead move in planning the reservation/seating process here. We tried to go on Tuesday (when they happen to have a dinner special), and showed up at about 6. We asked about the wait and the host estimated 25 minutes. What they are not telling you is that this is 25 mins, not counting anyone with a reservation who shows up in between. So you get pushed back and back...after thirty mins they put you on a "priority" list (still don't know what that meant...). We waited 45 mins with no sign that a table would become available so finally bailed. In that time we saw another couple leave after getting the manager's info, AND another guy who DID have a reservation complain to the manager because it was way past his reservation time and he still had no table. So they clearly just have this all screwed up. The one thing they were doing right was circulating a waitress around with a plate of their excellent Bang Bang Shrimp to sample while you waited...so as far as food, I can tell you that is still good. We finally departed and went across the way to Carmel for an EXCELLENT meal with no wait. Bonefish, you blew it. I know you can do better. read more

Frankly, I don't know much about seafood recipes outside of salmon and tilapia. It's both good and bad: Good because there are many seafood dishes that I have yet to try; bad because I still don't know what kind of fish I like. I have heard good things about the Misoyaki sea bass so came to try just that. It was excellent! Sea bass just melted in my mouth and it tasted so fresh I could taste the sea. It was served on a bed of rice, spinach, and mushroom that had a slight hint of teriyaki sauce that complemented the fish well. Overall, the food was delicious and pretty filling. Moral of the story: You gotta venture outside your comfort zone and try new recipes. The rewards are worth it. read more

So tried mahi mahi. Good but pan Asian sauces wasn't as good - did they change recipe? Broccoli was overcooked and soggy and garlic mashed potatoes had that crusty top layer that means they've ben under heat lamp too long. Only the second day for the waiter - Nice person but clearly had no wait experience. Had to wait for everything, and had to ask for the bread and it finally came with the entrées. Also had to ask for utensils which actually should've been put on the table with the menus by the hostess. My husband's entrée was only mediocre. Chicken had no flavor and serving sizes have definitely shrunk. Will probably return To a bonefish but not this location. Sadly disappointed! Our second time here, and worse than the first. Called yesterday to learn if the $45 was PP or a twosome. Gal answering the phone said PP. WRONG. Could have lost our business, but called again this morning to clarify. Owner said they have new help. Still, not excuse unless you want to lose business. So we went today. Notified the hostess at :11:48 that we were sitting outdoors, and she provided me the menus. It took Martin, our server 15 min. to come out to greet us. Rest of service went downhill afterwards. Meals were overcooked, and his attentiveness stunk. Finally, when we asked for the check, he couldn't even bring that promptly, despite 'our' table being the only one he was serving outdoors, and indoors wasn't crowded at all. My hubby finally went indoors to clear the tab, thus we left him a minor tip. No excuse for poor service when you're not busy. We were less than thrilled the first time we visited this B F, and were less thrilled this time. We won't be going back, and don't recommend it. The outdoor tables were filthy, and there were numerous recessed/can lights that were disconnected. Corporate definitely needs to make a visit to this establishment. Went with Family yesterday. We have so many many good memories and experiences over the years, but the quality has really taken a plunge. In addition to the french fries being soggy and probably cooked in old grease, they were completely out of ketchup, What!! Yes ! This was our first visit to a Bonefish and had no idea you could make reservations as we thought it was more like an Applebee's. Fortunately we showed up at 5:15 and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and helpful and didn't rush us at all. I had the corn and crab chowder and it was very good and the cup was larger than I expected. My husband had the lobster bisque and was very pleased with his choice. My entree was the salmon with the mango salsa and it was wonderful. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. The only bad thing was the mashed potatoes were barely warm. My husband ordered a special which was mahi mahi served with lump crabmeat and asparagus. He said it had a great flavor, but his entire entree was barely warm which makes you think the specials are made up and sitting ready to be served. Prices are reasonable and it's nice you can order a small plate for those of us that are not large eaters. Menu is fairly limited and obviously leans toward seafood items. read more

Bonefish has a new happy hour menu and it is !!! This location is huge with a nice outdoor seating area and tons of seats at the bar. We tried the Cod sliders, wagyu beef sliders, calamari, and potato fritters. All were excellent but the cod sliders took the prize for the best. The sauce and the brioche buns were amazing. Kids love the Mac n cheese with broccoli. They tried all the bar bites to. There are a few martinis included in the menu. We were in on a Monday so all martinis were just $5. We enjoyed the Tropical Heat martini. We agreed bonefish happy hour is our new favorite in Sarasota. We have tried a lot of them and both the food and drink options at bonefish were our favorites! read more

A decent upscale chain located in Sarasota that gets a crowd when the weather is nice. Has an outdoor patio area which is first come first served. If you sit out there you should stay there; many people were switching tables which threw off the servers. Food is pretty good. We ordered the calamari and I had the special grilled swordfish with pumpkin ravioli and a side of broccolini. Calamari had a good sauce but was quite salty in my opinion. Swordfish was good with a cheese spread on top along with the ravioli in a tomato sauce but also a bit salty. Broccoli was also good despite being.... You guessed it, salty. One thing that was not salty was our server. She definitely had her work cut out for her with the tables being difficult but she remained calm and did the best she could. As a server myself I give her lots of credit for being graceful under pressure. Next time I visit any of the bonefish locations, I'll just stick with my good ol bang bang shrimp! read more

Great to be back in the area to visit our favorite Bonefish. Bonefiah is one of our favorite chain restaurants. We are big fans of their Bang Bang Shrimp -- Especially on Wednesdays when it's on special price. Their Happy Hour delivers nicely priced house wines -- we're partial to the Le Terre Cellars Chardonnay. There are always great specials, and when nothing strikes our fancy we zero in on their phenomenal Sea Bass with mango salsa. Incredibly disappointing meal!! First off, we have been to this Bonefish restaurant before and we had good food and decent service. And in general, we are fans of this chain restaurant. We had reservations and were promptly seated in the bar area, the last booth, next to the kitchen door and wait station. As it was 5 PM, the place wasn't packed and there were clearly tables in the main dining area. Disappointing. We sat and quickly placed an order of Bang Bang Shrimp and it was brought out hot, fast and pretty darn good. It was at this time, my wife and I both noticed a smell, a bad smell of mildew or dirty cleaning water, it was very unsettling. We thought initially it was coming out of the kitchen (fishy smell maybe....looking at the floor in front of the door to the kitchen there are three black mats, I was thinking the smell was coming from that). It was at this time, I noticed the ac picked up and the air started moving and the smell - sort of disappeared, but not quite. Our dinner continued to go downhill. As we were eating our bang bang shrimp, we had to request a new water glass since there was something in one of our glasses of water. Not sure what it was, but it was something stuck on the inside of the glass. At this time we also placed our main order and soon enough, our entrees were delivered. Our food looked ok, but on a scale of 1 to 10 on the hot scale - it was maybe a 3. Both of our plates were cold, the food was luke warn.....very disappointing. I tried my wife's shrimp stuffed lobster and it was cold and very disappointing. She tried my pumpkin ravioli and it was just warm and when food isn't hot, it brings the whole experience down. Did a manager stop by to ask if we were doing ok? Nope. Did our server ask us how the food was? Nope. When we got the check, we placed our money in the wallet and left. I have never been to a Bonefish Grill in my life. I was not sure what to expect but started out well with a salad appetizer and ordered a filet with crab cake for my main entree. I ordered my filet medium well. When my meal was delivered I noticed that there was a blood running out from under the filet. So I cut it in half and it was basically rare on the inside, red and under-cooked. The waiter knew it wasn't what I had ordered so he asked that I put the filet on a small plate and he would take it back to the kitchen. About 5 minutes later the same filet is brought out by a manager on a small plate only now the top is charred. He asks me to cut into the filet and he says, oops-looks like it still isn't done. At that time my table mate says maybe you should try and cook a new one for him. So, 15 minutes later for the 3rd time the manager brings out the same filet and puts it in front of me. It is now shoe leather and tastes burnt. How can you try to cook the same piece of meat 3 times and expect it to be fit for your customer to eat? I don't know. In baseball we call this the 3 strikes you're out rule! I never had any dinner. Very disappointed! For $34 I expected better. For a manager to think it's ok to cook the same piece of meat 3 times is inexcusable! read more

This has to be the worst BF meal we've ever had. The food was ok - not great, but ok. The service was terrible. There were 4 of us - 2 ordered off the regular menu and 2 off the specials. The server was not familiar with the specials and said they didn't have what my husband ordered. We pointed to the item on the specials list and she said "oh those specials are new & I didn't know we had it." My sister-in-law ordered from the specials list and was brought the wrong meal. We had to ask for our side dishes that weren't originally brought out. We had to ask for bread (normally offered while waiting for dinner) and we had to ask multiple times to get drink refills.
