Had reservations on Saturday evening the 15th When we got there the receptionist told us we would have a 20 min wait. 55 mins later I asked again and she said it would be another 30 mins. She was sorry but she couldn't control how long it took people to eat. Several folks had given up and left and we decided to also. 10 mins after we left we got a text saying your table is ready. Hey Bonefish, I like your food but this was beyond frustrating. You might want to think about paying a little more than minimum wage for your receptionist. read more

My husband and I stopped in for a nice lunch date. The manager rep. Seth noticed I was trying something new and my face sure showed it and he went above expectation came over and asked if I liked it and if he could bring me something else. I had the ceviche and it came with some kind of pita bread and I was used to having tortilla chips so he asked can he make me some fresh tortilla chips and he sure did. That went very well with the ceviche. My husband tried the new bone in rib-eye and it was cooked to his liking. Are food and services was wonderful from beginning to finish. read more

Dined here with friends Saturday evening. The food was adequate but, the service was awful. Our waiter and the staff that assisted were forgetful, and incompetent . Our dinners had the wrong sides, we had to ask for water refills repeatedly, one of our dinner companions asked for his after dinner coffee 4 times before it finally arrived. All that made for a less than plesant dining experience. For the upscale place they try to be they fail badly. The failure to communicate and poor follow through with service was blatant. The kitchen did cook the salmon perfectly, rice was good and the Cosmo cocktail was tasty. Not dining here anymore I'm sure. read more

I think Bonefish does a great job and is an excellent value. They cook expensive fish perfectly, so the pressure is off you. All you have to do is enjoy. Perfect Bang Bang Shrimp... It's a signature appetizer for a reason. Grilled salmon was as good as is gets... And I opted for pesto herb topping. Had a great Argentinian Malbec that paired perfect with the herbs and fish. Just finished dinner at Bonefish. Great meal! The blueberry martini was fabulous, I was concerned that it would be too sweet but it hit just the right note. We got to sample the Bang Bang Shrimp and it was very good. That gave us the chance to try the other highly recommended item, the crab cakes - with more crab than cake, they were splendid! This was my first time to Bonefish, and I was relatively satisfied. Thomas was a great waiter, and I have absolutely no complaints about him. He was extremely personable, and would definitely come back to have him. We started with the ceviche, which had really good flavor, but the scallops were a bit overcooked and tough. My sea bass special was AMAZING, and absolutely melt in your mouth. The quinoa was not what I expected, but was a nice fresh alternative. The potatoes au gratin was really good, and not your typical sliced potatoes but rather chunks. My coworker picked at his ahi tuna which looked decent. The veg on the side was not appealing... almost dry looking. Both of our drinks were good, especially the Ocean something Martini (where $1 goes to some charity). Bonefish is where to go for fresh seafood. I tried the Bang Bang shrimp because everyone raved about it, but to be honest, I don't know what the hype was about. It's smothered in a sauce similar to aioli/mayo. So, it's quite greasy.. I really wanted to try to ceviche on the daily specials menu, but they were out :/ The chilean seabass was pretty good, but I prefer the seabass at Sabor. My husband got the grouper and I loved it - very flaky yet moist. The service was great and I ultimately had a good time. read more

Meh. If you like this chain than you know what to expect. This location is clean and friendly. our server was very nice. Aloof but nice. On to the food. App: Bacon wrapped scallops- They are the smaller scallops. Very delicate in flavor so the bacon totally over powered them. The mango salsa is delish though. Entrees- I had the grilled scallops and shrimp w green beans and fries. The shrimp was a bit over done but they still tasted quite nice. The scallops, again, the smaller kind, but so good! They were grilled just perfectly and not over powered by anything else. Yum!!! Beans- nicely done! Fries- meh, small portion and a bit chewy. My husband had the tuna bowl. The tuna was done well. Not over cooked or seasoned. Yum. He had the mango sauce and liked it. A bit too much rice and fried wonton strips. He didn't eat that. He enjoyed it. He had a cup of corn chowder w crab. His words ' I'm eating gravy. This is gravy'. So, a bit heavy. My son had the popcorn shrimp and broccoli. He eat most of it. We all split the white truffle Mac and cheese, no one liked it so we wouldn't order it again. Desert - key lime pie. Good lime flavor and crust. Better split it! Bonefish is fine but they do like to over do their food. Fresh seafood doesn't need to be slather in sauces or fried to death. Took my son for a birthday dinner. 1 out of 4 meals were good. Three of us ordered the jasmine rise and green beans for our sides. The jasmine rice was hard, crunchy, and stuck together. The green beans were warmed up and still raw. When the manager came by to ask us how our meal was I told him about the rice and green beans. He said the green beans were difficult to cook properly and didn't know what was up with the rice. No offers to replace them, but did take 20% off the bill. I would have preferred different sides so our meals were complete. Very disappointed. read more

I used to really enjoy Bonefish grill. Seems like the whole place has went down hill since that last time we had been. They took saucy shrimp off the menu.. The bread they brought us was burnt, meanwhile the staff walked by with a loaf of bread that wasn't burnt.. and 2 or 3 of them proceeded to sit down at a table and eat (their non burnt bread). Also, my fish tacos had some tough pieces that didn't seem right. Menu and staff / management just seemed to be pretty crappy compared to what it used to be. Definitely not the "nice restaurant" it once was. Sad because I bragged about it all week and after the 2 hr drive from Oklahoma we were pretty disappointed. read more

Although I'm not the biggest fan of chain restaurants I gotta say that Bonefish is one of the rare exceptions. I've visited the Wichita Waterfront location a few times and I've never had anything but excellent service. The wait staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. It is a doouble digit per plate restaurant so if you're eating here be ready to spend upperwards of $60 for a full course meal. Surprisingly the portions a good size, I'm the type that likes plenty of food especially if I'm paying that type of price. I stopped at Bone Fish after checking into my hotel in Wichita for some real food. Interior of the restaurant is hip, modern and contemporary. It was not a busy night, however it was a Sunday. Staff is friendly and informative on the menu items. I ordered the blackberry mojito, it had good flavor but it seemed they went light on the rum. I usually don't notice much but it seemed like it was pre age 21 version. I ordered the ceviche, I'm spoiled since some of my friends are Mexican and make the homemade variety, so I try to keep an open mind. The ceviche was ok. I thought it had too much of a cilantro lime taste. There is a delicate balance between adding to the flavor and over riding it. I wasn't impressed. I ordered the stuffed Tilapia, this entrée was great and the portion was a decent size for the price. I chose the au gratin potato for the side, and it had great flavor. The vegetable was zucchini, I'm not a fan of the zucchini; vile vegetable. I did try it though since I try to keep an open mind and it was ok. Service was quick and friendly. I will definitely visit Bonefish Grill again, and try some of the other menu items. read more

What a great place for seafood in the middle of Wichita... Their appetizer Bang Bang Shrimp is finger licking good! First time we went there, it was so busy we had to wait for over an hour and ended up going elsewhere because some of us got impatiently hungry. But they were sampling the Bang Bang Shrimps to the people waiting for their tables, I fell in love with them and went again few days later, and have made few visits since then. Tried their salmon, tilapia and also the crab cakes which were delicious, cause there was no filler stuff in 'em. The ambience and the atmosphere is very nice as well. I've been to other Bonefish's in the chain in the Atlanta area - and this was certainly a nicer set-up and better service than the others. I'm spoiled in that fresh seafood has always been available to me where I've lived so to find a good seafood place in Wichita is a...relief! And Bonefish did not disappoint - two of us opted for a Salmon special that was excellent - it was prepared with bacon and Gorgonzola cheese which seems weird - but ooh sooo yummy and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Our server, Rob, was excellent - very friendly, competent, knowledgeable and really kept our wine glasses full w/o being intrusive. Overall and excellent experience! read more

Very enjoyable meal last night. Dillon was a very attentive informed waiter. I tried the Baja fish tacos. Grilled fish was perfect. Tried the new herbed couscous- very good. Nice change from usual rice. Ahi tuna and potatoes au gratin were my date's dish. Both were perfect. My only complaint is that it is very dark in there. We have difficulty seeing the menu. The wine was good. We were much too full for dessert, but key lime pie with pecan crust is always a delicious finish if you have room! read more

Had an excellent meal last night! Our server was attentive, prompt and very helpful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass - cooked to perfection! My two younger children and myself are vegan, while my husband and teen son are not. This is probably one of the best restaurants in town to make everyone happy. We have been twice, and each time Brandon came out to see that the vegan preparations were satisfactory (they were fantastic!) and that the fish selections were also pleasing (they were!). Everything was delicious, but what impressed me more was the service and attention from our servers, Brandon, and Tabitha. For appetizers, we ordered edamame and bang bang shrimp. Everyone loved what they nibbled! The vegan dinners were slightly different preparations each visit of various vegetables and noodles in a somewhat asian seasoning (perhaps it is a sesame oil that gives it that leaning), and they were prepared perfectly each time for all of us. My husband sea bass each time, and my son had salmon once and bang bang tacos the other. I also would like to mention that this restaurant is light years superior to Newport Grill, which we dined at recently too. Newport had mediocre service, the fish selection needed salt, and our "vegan" meals were nothing more than cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks and radishes on a plate raw with nothing at all. Our experience here was really good. We didn't love everything we got and the manager immediately removed it from our ticket. They were very accommodating and customer service minded. The pomegranate martini was delicious and the caramel apple lava cake was life changingly delicious! Seriously. We would go back again and again just for that dessert. Wow, sooo good! read more
