I read your response to my Yelp Review and while I like that you advocate for your employees, you clearly do not want to take accountability for your staff's inactions. Needless to say, we will not come back to your restaurant moreso because of your attitude. 1) The hostess did not look up my reservation. There were 2 reserved tables in the front of the restaurant and 1 of them was a booth. She clearly did not do her job when I told her I made reservations yet, you do not apologize for that. 2) Your staff only asked us once how things were. They never came back to give us water or a check until I flagged down a server. 3) Your cook failed to make my to go steak the correct temperature but you fail to acknowledge/apologize for this. 4) I think I already mentioned that my husband did not bother to let the server know about his burnt vegetables so yes, I acknowledge that we should have brought it to their attention. Genuinely I used to love this place, but there was a 2in needle found in my food after they catered to our office. I nearly swallowed it, but i ripped it out of my throat mid conversation with my coworker. My general manager contacted the establishment and they first accepted blame but then doubled back to say they we had no proof. The proof was this meat needle that was in my throat! It was such a horrible and confusing experience and I wanted to let people know this could happen to them. Careful with the Salmon bowls. Edit: My evidence was the scratch down my throat and an ER visit. I think a $700 refund was absolutely fair, especially when your manager said it was their fault. My visit here was unsatisfactory. When we arrived, we were seated at the only table big enough to fit 12 people, and the place was surprisingly busy even at 11:00 PM. Since when is it customary to automatically add an 18% gratuity for a party of two? My guest and I ordered two meals and several drinks. In fact, our drinks cost more than the food itself. I didn't initially notice that an 18% gratuity had already been added to the bill. It wasn't until after I paid that I realized it had been included. To make matters worse, the POS system prompted me for an additional tip during checkout. This felt extremely misleading. The automatic gratuity was not obvious, and the additional tip prompt created a situation where customers could easily end up tipping twice. Given how late it was, I can't help but feel that the staff knew exactly what they were doing and were counting on customers not noticing the gratuity had already been added. Transparency is important when it comes to billing. Automatically adding an 18% gratuity for a party of two and then prompting for an additional tip left a very negative impression. Customers should be clearly informed of any service charges before payment, not discover them afterward. read more

This location is decent. I came on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty empty. I ordered to go and got the Chimichurri & Picanha Na Parrilha, which is the broiled steak. I got it cooked medium well, and it was really good. It came with mashed potatoes, crisp onions, and asparagus and that was all really good too. This place has such a nice back patio where I like to sit. The inside of the restaurant is very small and can get crowded. The servers are always so pleasant and the food is always delicious. Unsure why this place has such low rating but every time I go there the service is great and they always accomodate our big party (they do not do split checks though) and my go-to order is their carbonara. I've also tried their version of a Sheppard's pie and it was delicious as well. What a nice Brazilian restaurant, that isn't a steak house. With frontage patio dining, clean/open lines interior dining and a small rear patio dining with a skyline view, see pic, it has an environment for many diners. My pic of the bar illustrates the clean/straight interior design lines. On this Saturday evening, there was ample parking in the rear parking lot. The menu is quite varied, most of which isn't Brazilian. I took a pic of the "Order Information", I've never seen such an extensive list - hmmmm. Setting a standard for our meals, I've posted a pic of the pre-meal bread with their oil and vinegar bottle. The bread was warm and light - as pictured. It had the requisite herbs on top with olive oil - good flavoring. We each had amply sized bread dishes for the dipping oil and vinegar - which just made it better. From the menu section "Bossa Nova Grill" we shared the Traditional Chicken, which as you can see in my pic is a pounded and grilled chicken breast. The chicken breast was quite moist. It had a very intriguing and alluring flavor which is a result of being marinated in their Brazilian herbs and spices: all of which was good. This meal comes with 3 sides, we choose: sweet potato fries, roasted vegetables and fried plantains. All were good, crunchy when appropriate, savory as expected and slightly sweet and caramelized as pictured. And under the "A La Carte" we ordered the File A Cavalo. BTW, as you can see in my pic, this isn't a la carte as I'm used to it: it was a full meal. Buried underneath the eggs and the power grains was a healthy sized steak. I'll start with the best first: the broiled pub steak. While not a robust American sized steak, it was fairly sized and thicker than a breakfast steak. It was cooked to order, medium rare. It was very tender, juicy and the savory season salt was spot on. The eggs were cooked to order, and their liquid gold paired well with the steak. My 2 side choices (not bad for an a la carte order) were: black beans and power grains. The black beans were okay and the power grains were good. The grains particularly paired well with the fresh salsa. We liked the variety of their offerings, and a refreshing change from other restaurants. read more

This was my second time at Bossa Nova but first time at this location.  I was excited to dine here because I had a good experience at the other Sunset location. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the food here as much.  I appreciate the parking in the rear.  That helps a lot especially with this venue being on Sunset Blvd.  They have outdoor and indoor seating.  It's pretty spacious as outside is unassuming. The service was fine, nothing overly special. The Gorgonzola Burger was flavorful but a bit under-cooked for me.  I could have done without the Arugula, LOL. The mashed potatoes were good, not lumpy and nothing to write home about.  Forget about the chicken tenders, total miss. How can chicken be dry and rubbery?? I enjoyed the Dutch fries the best. I was looking forward to the chocolate cake but since the meal was underwhelming, I skipped it.  I usually conclude with, "Will I return?" I still want to give this Chain/location a chance.  They have a brunch I would like to try.  Perhaps they can redeem themselves then. read more

Just wanted to appreciate the lovely view, and the warm weather that day. Our food did arrive upon minutes from ordering. Each different server that came by our table was kind and attentive.
