The cacio e pepe here is one of the best pastas I've ever eaten. The texture of the pastas are perfectly al dente, I don't think they can do better in Italy! Love the location and unique ambiance of Bottino! I've had their sandwiches at their location next door which are delicious but this review is specifically for their drinks. I've been here twice now for drinks with friends. Their gin-based drinks are some of the best I've had in the city. During the summer they had a cucumber gimlet that I still think about all the time. It was served in a beautiful stemmed glass and was delicious in every sip. The Botanist is my favorite drink here right now, it has the perfect light sweetness and the pine-like flavor of the gin accents it wonderfully. Such a great hidden gem of an Italian restaurant tucked away on 10th ave! Came here before the mckittrick speak easy magic show and was not disappointed. The casarecce duck ragu is probably the best pasta dish I've had all year. I've been craving it since I had it weeks ago. The ambience in this airy Italian bistro is a Spring delight with pink peonies everywhere and the peacock blue sky visable through the lattice roof. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch, everyone all smiles. We started with a cocktail called a "Bottino", which was similar to a Bellini with fiero, grapefruit + Prosecco. The glass size was generous. I have to order gazpacho when I see it on a menu. This was perfect. Green herbs floating in a perfectly chilled soup, just the right consistency + piquantness. The branzino fillet was divine with delicious garlicky spinach + potatoes. I would have preferred the spinach to be without stems, but that's a minor pet peeve. For dessert, my one friend had an apple tart which she said was very good. The other friend had the zabaglione which she pronounced to be "fair" and I had the mango sorbet with whipped cream . I highly recommend this place if your destination is Chelsea. There's an excellent parking garage right across the street. The attendant actually stood in the street + stopped traffic, so I could make a difficult left turn. read more

I ordered delivery via DoorDash I got the Dry Aged Organic Beef Cheeseburger which came with curly fries. It was all packaged in what appears to be a recyclable salad bowl like the ones you get at Cava if you ever ordered food there. No real complaints, tasted good, and was pretty filling. I also ordered the Bittersweet Chocolate Tiramisu. They seriously couldn't find a better way to package it and stuck it in the same take out salad bowl. And to no surprise it came destroyed. A fun little restaurant on the Westside of Manhattan in the Chelsea district. There's actually a little area of outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant and which gives you the feeling of being in a lush forest. The staff is friendly and the portions are nice. They do host many private parties here which looks like they do an excellent job in catering to your needs and tastes. Our friends had the burgers which were big and juicy. The Cacio E Pepe is the best I've ever had a pork ragu special was also incredible. It is rare to get pasta that is as good as what you can find in Italy but Bottino did it. Anthony has an amazing ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He is an amazing host, spent a lot of time joking with us and letting us taste wines until we found the one we liked. With summer in full swing, many NYC restaurants are embracing outdoor dining as a way to entice diners to give their stoves at home a break. I found Bottino through TimeOut NY's list of outdoor restaurants and was happy to see that the outdoor patio was just as pictured. The ample canopy and open passageway to the inner dining room made it a surprisingly comfortable setting despite the sticky summer heat. The menu wasn't that extensive but had some unique dishes like the Seared Mediterranean Octopus. The octopus was grilled to achieve a bouncy, yet soft texture and tasted great with the Cavatelli Alla Norma we also ordered. I also really enjoyed the toasted bread, sundried tomatoes, and eggplant that are layered beneath the octopus. Each soaked up some of the flavors from it, and the octopus itself had pockets of spice, maybe from peppercorn. I'd definitely recommend the octopus over the Cavatelli, which was solid but didn't taste like anything special. I also ordered a watermelon Daiquiri, which seemed to have very little alcohol. Food is fine, staff is ok, room is beautiful. So why two stars? Table of six last weekend and, when the waiter came around with the water asked "sparkling or still?" I replied "we're fine with tap water." Two other people, when asked the same question, gave the same answer. We have our meal and then the check comes which includes, surprise surprise, four bottles of $10 water. I mentioned it to the waiter, who didn't really have an answer. Bottino! What can I really say about this place. Well let's start with the decor. It's so quaint and welcoming, the walls are painted in a perfect shade of ivory and the chairs match it so well. You are then led to the back if you choose to be seated in the garden, which is surreal. It is a large area in the back, with perfect scenery, trees and great outdoor lighting for your dinner. On to the staff. They are so welcoming, attentive and extremely polite. They always came to bring us more water, talked us up, asked us where we got our clothes and just seemed genuinely interested in us outside of just serving us food and going away. It was not just one either, it was a slew of them and even as other patrons started pouring in, the staff was still around and never more than an arm's reach away...just enough for when you need them and not overbearing. There is also a corner outdoor space that I believe is reserved for group seating and it looks perfect for a celebration dinner, like a birthday or graduation. The food! When I tell you that the menu is exquisite, quote me on it! The prices are amazing for NYC and they give you a healthy serving for everything. We had the fettuccine with lobster and shrimp and it was only $22, which is unheard of for a New York restaurant. It was filled with lobster, tasted amazing and I can't wait to go back and have it again. The bread they gave us at the beginning was awesome as well. Our second visit to Bottino was magical. We sat on the lovely patio in the back which has a cool breeze wafting through. We had the house-made ricotta -- luscious consistency and served with very good grilled bread. We had the little gems salad with a hazelnut vinaigrette, which was ideal on a hot summer night. Our pasta (cacio e pepe) was simple and exactly right. They nailed it. Excellent roasted chicken and then a dark, bittersweet chocolate pudding. We were very happy with our meal, and with the friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Bottino's cocktails are the best I've had in NYC so far. They're delicious and gorgeous and to sit on their patio and sip one while you wait for your meal is pretty much heaven. I came here for dinner with 2 other people and we all thought it was just okay. We all started with the cocomero drink and it tasted very good but it didn't seem like there was any alcohol in it. We then started with the ricotta, gem salad and fried artichokes. The fried artichokes were great and I would definitely recommend. The ricotta app wasn't very good. It tasted more like cream cheese than ricotta cheese. The gem salad was ok, the dressing was a bit too sweet for me. We then got the cacio Pepe and cavatelli. The cacio Pepe was very good, but the cavatelli was just ok. Unfortunately, the person I was with doesn't eat pork and basically EVERY dish had pork in it that couldn't be removed. If someone in your party doesn't eat pork I wouldn't go here. read more

The staff is friendly and attentive and service is great The restaurant has a back dining room that is really great for private events. I'll Beyonce is cozy and nice, and they have all these stringed lights in the back. The salads here are very fresh and perfectly dressed. As a way to support business during these crazy times we decided to give the outdoor dinning a try this was during the colder months, we had rsvp came in & were seated in the enclosed outside area. Drinks to start we had some Pinot , not bad .. appetizers gave the Meatballs a try they were good & the Bruschetta toast , the bruschetta was delicious very tasty. Main dishes we had the Steak , comes with a salad nice tasting piece of meat it was very good, also had the Cacio e pepe spaghetti very nice .. good spaghetti the combo with the steak went well. If you sign up for email you get free cookies, the cookies were good nice & sweet. Decent looking place inside, they have a decent outside dinning area set up You try & make the best of it but because of the cold it gets uncomfortable pretty quickly, probably better during warmer months. I had the roasted and baked whole fish (Branzino) which I have to say was delicious I'm glad they kept it simolenbecause it really brings the taste of the fish out. The potatoes and the sliced oranges are a perfect complimentary taste and balance to the fish. The Spaghetti Nero (squid ink pasta, bread crumbs, salmon roe, crab and cherry tomatoes) is unique but be prepared for a proper heavy sea food flavor probably because of the salmon roe. They had run out of Pinot Noir and also non alcoholic beer which is fine I suppose. We just had water. The food really does capture the night. The dessert we tried was the olive oil cake which is like a heavy, square cut dense pound cake deeply baked and served with vanilla ice cream. Must try. I really like the ambiance here. Its unassuming exterior makes walking into the space that much more enchanting. It was an early Sunday afternoon and I had just finished with a gallery when I had decided to get a bite to eat and a drink before heading to my next appointment. My car just happened to be parked at the corner of W24th and 10th and so I notice Bottino. Once in, I was invited to seat myself at a table. It appeared quite busy. I had to flag the waiter, but it was easy and once called, service was fine. I had ordered the Honeycrisp Butter Lettuce Salad and a cocktail and both were delicious, crisp and clean. I felt like I was in a modern Parisian restaurant though I know Bottino is Italian. It just felt airy, light, and lovely. I didn't feel rushed. There were several like myself who came in on their own, sat down and enjoyed their meals and drinks undisturbed. I will definitely come back here with a friend next time to share this experience, though I also plan to return on my own if I'm in the area and want a nice light clean meal with good service. read more

We came here for a small group dinner Friday evening. I would def recommend making a reservation because it was pretty crowded when we arrived. Overall the food was solid but was much more expensive than it should've been and the portions were much smaller than they should've been. For appetizers we got the cheese plate and crispy artichokes. The artichokes were the highlight of the meal for me, and something I'd recommend to everyone. My entree was the spicy octopus which was okay overall. The octopus was cooked well but the pasta and beans that accompanied it were very bland. The vibes inside were good and the service was so-so. A special shout-out to Sydney for being our primary point of contact; she is simply lovely to work with and answered all of our questions leading up to the big day. We always felt taken care of and knew we were in good hands. The event couldn't have gone better, even having to make some last minute changes due to rain. Next, the space is gorgeous! We got married in the covered patio, which has beautiful green vines and delicate string lights hanging from above. I love the romantic, garden feel in the middle of our great City. Last but not least, the food is excellent. All night, our friends and family were raving to us about the food (one of the many reasons we selected Bottino to be our location). The steak tartar and scallops were *chefs kiss*. The bolognese was a bit salty for me but the pasta was cooked wonderfully. We sat in the garden and the atmosphere was romantic. A backyard seating is hard to come by in nyc! For my event, I worked closely with Danny and Sydney who were both gems. Sydney was such a doll and a pleasure to work with. The perfect spot for dinner...or your wedding! I've lived in NYC for 16 years; this is my favorite restaurant in the city. Consistently great cocktails, food, service and vibes. The space is light and bright during the day, calm and cozy at night, and always chic. I have celiac disease, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. I've tried everything gluten free or GF-modified on the menu - 10/10, no notes! Highly recommend for a date night, dinner with friends or hosting a special event. And I would know, because we hosted our wedding Bottino in October 2023 - ceremony and reception. There aren't enough words or stars to convey how spectacular this space and these people were. The venue, the food, the service - they all exceeded our expectations, and I would plan everything again, exactly the same way. A few specific notes on hosting an event w/ Bottino: 1. Sydney, Devon and Danny are responsive, knowledgeable and kind. They provide expert guidance about what has worked well for other events, but they're open to collaborating on new/different ways to achieve your vision. We did a buy-out for 100 guests, and the team worked closely with us over several months to iterate and optimize the layout for the evening - so we could seamlessly transition from cocktails to the ceremony, back to cocktails, to dinner, to dancing. It turned out perfectly. 2. The space looked beautiful and functioned well for such a big group. There is continuity throughout the restaurant - from the front bar to the dining rooms and garden areas, but it also provided some separation for guests who wanted to talk while we were pumping music and dancing in one of the two dining rooms ("the pool room"). Loved having that flexibility. 3. Anthony (restaurant manager) was on site the whole evening and working overtime to keep everyone running smoothly. Every now and again throughout the evening, Anthony would bring me GF hors de vours to make sure I was eating. It was just another example of the care this team puts into their work. I appreciated it so much. 4. The food and drinks - my God. We loved being able to offer our guests a menu with so many options, and we got excellent feedback from all our guests. Cocktails can be secret gluten bombs, so Sydney and Nam helped us pick/create custom cocktails that everyone loved and were safe for me to drink. (Pro tip: try a French 75 w/ cognac instead of gin. You're welcome.) All the usual suspects were a hit: fried artichokes, burrata, branzino, THE STEAK!, cacio e pepe, zabaglione, etc. etc. Danny and the Bottino team went out of their way to make me some GF fried artichokes, which was above and beyond. 5. It's worth noting that our vendors commented multiple times on how great it was to work with Bottino. 6. In a matter of 48 hours, Danny worked with my mom to cater a brunch the morning after the wedding. Again - great service and great food. This is too long - just like my emails, which the Bottino team patiently read and responded to throughout planning.
